Located just over an hour from Nashville, The Venue at 939 Adams is Bowling Green, KY’s largest historic event space and wedding venue — a setting where timeless architecture meets unforgettable celebrations. Originally built in 1914 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this three-story brick landmark opened its doors as a venue in 2017 and continues to honor its rich history while offering every modern comfort.
Inside the iconic building, you’ll find original wood floors, heavy timber construction, and soaring ceilings that create a warm, elegant atmosphere. Guests can easily flow onto the nearly 2,000-square-foot deck, perfect for cocktail hours or dancing under the lights.
The Venue also features a spacious bridal suite with private bath and hair-and-makeup area, a dedicated groom’s suite, and a striking 32-foot bar — complete with a built-in pre–Civil War bathtub that doubles as a one-of-a-kind drink cooler.
Whether you’re planning a romantic wedding, a lively celebration, or a corporate gathering, The Venue at 939 Adams offers the space, character, and story to make your event truly memorable.

Four and a half years ago, I stood right here at The Venue at 939 Adams and said “I do.” That day sparked something that’s stayed with me ever since — a deep love for weddings, meaningful design, and the way a beautiful space brings people together.
With a background in design and event planning, I bring a creative eye and attention to detail to every celebration hosted here. My goal is simple: to make each couple’s day as unforgettable as mine was — surrounded by the same charm, history, and warmth that made me fall in love with this venue in the first place.

I had no idea this historic Scott Tobacco building was an actual venue! It served as the perfect setting for our joint graduation party, and evidently as the location for our kids high school prom. The server for our beverage station was especi...
ally warm and charming as he served from behind a 30+ foot bar that held drinks in bath tub from the early 1900s, I believe. The floors were the original wood and beautifully maintained. There was also a stage for live performances or a DJ. There were quite a few areas for guests to do photo ops and it was extremely spacious for people to either mingle or sit at the large round tables that sat 8. This is truly the perfect place to host any event!

My husband and I got married here in December, 3 days before Christmas! We had such a wonderful experience with the folks at the Venue. The space was clean, everything was well organized, and we still get compliments about what a beautiful wint...
er wedding it was. Because our date was in the dead of winter, I really did not want to have to worry about guests being cold, or our elderly family having to walk in uneven grass, or what to do about parking if it was slick. Thankfully, the Venue had it covered with their very nice and evenly paved parking lot and accessible ramp entry if needed. For us this was a huge plus, especially since similarly-priced venues we looked at required guests to park in the grass or gravel and walk potentially a long distance to the ceremony area, which may or may not have been adequately temperature-controlled. On our wedding day, the staff had the heat adjusted perfectly and the temp indoors was cozy. Plus it was warm enough outside for some quick pictures on the deck which I loved. (That space would be perfect for a happy hour or extended dance floor in the warmer months, it was so pretty!) All of our vendors and guests spoke highly of the Venue in terms of both professionalism and aesthetics. We had a large wedding party and guest list, and there were absolutely no issues with parking, decoration, bathrooms, accommodations for our caterer, etc. The huge bar area was more than enough space for the food and drinks to be set up, and it was nice that it was tucked away for convenient traffic flow and not in the middle of the room. The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready and the main space was plenty big enough for both our ceremony and reception— we just had our groomsmen move the chairs and the ceremony seating space later became the dance floor. I liked that it flows and it doesn’t just feel like one square space because I’ve been to weddings where guests don’t have room to walk around and you can’t hear yourself talk. The diffused lighting coming in through all of the large windows was perfect for pre-ceremony pictures, and the Edison bulbs made it so beautiful and cozy for our evening ceremony. Folks at the Venue were even kind enough to put up a Christmas tree for us! We’ve been back a few times for other local events and weddings and it always makes us so happy to see others utilizing this beautiful historic gem. If you’re looking for a beautiful space to get married or host an event, look no further!

An old tobacco warehouse, with several period pieces (bars, doors, etc). A beautiful venue for weddings, the reception, or parties.
