The Venue at Hidden Lake

an discussing where we were going to host our wedding, we had different ideas. I'm pretty impatient, so after about a week of scouring venues in the Baldwin/Mobile County area, I was about to give up on the search. However, a few days later, a girlfriend/coworker of mine overheard me complaining about our venue plight and asked if I had heard of Hidden Lake. I had not, which was very surprising considering my Google stalking skills, so she told me more about it and it sounded too good to be true. At that point, I couldn’t find much information online, but I found the venue’s Facebook page, so I messaged the administrator. Very quickly, Lauren Baas, responded and said that she would be happy to show the property to us. A few days later, my husband and I met Lauren at the unassuming property and toured the venue. It was love at first sight. The property was such a perfect mesh of our vibes. (Just think Southern shabby chic with picturesque views all tucked away in what feels like a place of your own.) Immediately, we told Lauren that we would like to rent the venue, but that we needed a few days to get our affairs in order (which she had no problem with). Lauren also explained to us that she and her husband had just bought the property and would be doing some remodeling between then and our wedding date in December, but she assured us that the remodels would look great…and she did not disappoint. A few months later, my husband and I had such a beautiful wedding at this location. The remodels were gorgeous (especially in the cottage) and the weather could not have been more perfect. We even opted to use a food truck in lieu of a caterer and there was plenty of space for him to park. We got married in front of the small chapel with about 100 attendees and then had our reception in the barn area. We had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and the barn had a very spacious porch which accommodated a bar, DJ, and plenty of room for dancing. Lauren was so lovely, helpful, and patient throughout the entire process too! I would definitely recommend The Venue at Hidden Lake for anyone looking to have a wedding full of Southern charm and beauty without the pretention. (We're still waiting on our professional photos, but I wanted to include a few candids.)
