About this vendor
The Village Ballroom offers a wedding setting that feels distinctly Portland—comfortable, classic, and full of character and charm. Housed in a historic building that has welcomed hundreds of gatherings over the past century, the space carries a sense of warmth and story that makes every celebration feel meaningful. We believe weddings are especially precious, and there’s nothing we love more than creating a beautiful backdrop for love to be celebrated. Our venue can fit 130 guests seated and 250 standing. The sweet spot to have a lively venue with plenty of space for a dance floor is around 100 guests. (and yes, we have a disco ball 🪩, as well as a projector, and in-house sound system)
As of September 2025, The Village Ballroom is operated by LaVerne's - a new, neighborhood bar and restaurant that has quickly won over the hearts and bellies of Portlanders, known best for our rotisserie chicken and affordable craft cocktails. LaVerne's provides catering and bar service for all Village Ballroom events, creating an all-in-one venue experience. We take care of your biggest wedding elements - venue, catering, and bar service - so everything flows seamlessly under one roof. Weddings are layered and personal, and our team is here to guide you through each step with care and ease. From planning to execution, we’ll handle the details so you can stay present, soak it all in, and enjoy your special day.

Loved this venue! Melinda, the event planner, was easy to work with both before and the day of the wedding. She and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make our wedding...
day great. :)
This is a wonderful historic hall! My daughter's wedding reception took place here after a beautiful ceremony in Woodlawn Park's ampitheater, just 3 blocks away. The staff were ex...
tremely helpful and easy to work with in planning our party for 140. The separate bar and reception room are so charming as well as functional. Being able to specify a charity to receive the profits from the wedding was an added bonus. In addition, we were able to bring in our own wine and champagne without corkage charges which really helped us stretch our wedding dollars.
The Village Ballroom was a fantastic venue to work with for our wedding. I cannot recommend it enough.

ns were clear throughout. Pricing was very reasonable. Morgan went over our timing, food, and decor options in detail in the early stages of planning, and kept in regular contact as the date approached. She was invested in making things fit with our tastes while also being ready with suggestions when we wanted guidance (we figured she was the pro, after all). We really appreciated the flexibility to cater or get food in-house (we went with the in-house option, which had a broad selection and made it easy to get options for people with dietary restrictions). The VB staff made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding, and made things very easy for us.
The space: The main room was ideal for eating and dancing, and the small entrance room provided a quiet area for brief moments of downtime. A lot of our guests commented afterward on how pretty the venue was.
The Village Ballroom's mission and nonprofit status were a major factor in our decision to hold our wedding there. (Bonus: every time we go to the VB or Oregon Public House for a party or fundraiser it will bring back warm and fuzzy memories.)
Exactly what we wanted. A great place to throw a party. The coordinator was amazing. We felt such a relief once we went for a tasting because everything g was planned after that. I...
t’s so beautiful, little decorations are needed. Super affordable!!
We really loved having our wedding here. The price was excellent and since it is a non-profit, we got to choose a charity for the proceeds from our wedding to go to. Morgan was so ...
easy to work with and made sure everything was ready to run smoothly on our wedding day. The event was perfect and the staff was really amazing. I’m so glad we chose them.
Perfect Venue! We live in Denver but planned our wedding from afar after flying out to find a venue in Portland, OR last year. They were very organized, the venue was perfect, the ...
staff was amazing and everything went even better than we imagined. One of the things we loved the most was that a portion of all their proceeds go to non-profit charities they are affiliated with! Highly recommend!
