bove all, the photographs they took of our wedding (and engagement) were amazing :) I asked to take candid shots as my husband wasn't a fan of posed photos and they delivered! And when I asked if I could bring our dogs along for the engagement shoot and wedding, they were all about it! I'd give them 10 stars if I could! I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their special day captured! Seriously <3

My mom wanted pictures of all her friends at the reception and they were more than happy to oblige. I put all my trust in them to get the perfect shots for our wedding day and we were not disappointed. d, hilarious, kind, and pay so much attention to you, you'll think you're their only client (which is by far the case!). From our first interaction with Shannon and Justin it was so simple, they made everything easy and comfortable. We met them for an engagement session and had so much fun, not to mention that the pictures were GORGEOUS!!! I didn't know my husband and I could look that good, plus our doggo received some headshots as well ;). Leading up to the wedding the Vondys were so helpful with recommendations on everything from vendors to how to handle and enjoy our actual wedding day. They worked so well with our other vendors, and even though we had the longest, most obnoxious list of family photos, they handled it like pros - obviously - because they are!! Our wedding pictures turned out better than I could have ever imagined - when I'm down I look at them, when I'm happy I look at them, and everyone who has seen them say they look 1000 times better than theirs did (duh). So suffice to say, if you are considering the Vondys, look no further....hopefully they're not already booked.

d we didn't really get the warm and fuzzy from anyone. We wanted to make sure that if we hired someone it would actually be good! Imagine that...haha. Well, we took a look at their portfolio and LOVE the natural light that comes through in all of their photos! And then we met them, found out they're huge GoT nerds just like us and...the rest is history! Seriously though, every time we talked it was like catching up with an old friend! As a type-A person, this was one of the few things I felt completely comfortable just leaving in the professional's hands! My fiance and I had complete and total trust in them, and it was so nice just knowing that no matter what the photos were going to be bomb. I'm telling you--if you're on the fence about the $$ this is one thing that it is worth every penny! It's not a splurge, it's necessary, and they will exceed your EVERY expectation! My best friend hired someone from one of those huge nationwide photography companies and sadly was disappointed. She was in my wedding, and already is trying to hire them to do another shoot for her and her husband! My friend in HI is asking too, so many people have asked about them because they are that friendly, exceptional at what they do, and sooo personable! They can make even the most awkward (uh, myself and my fiance!) feel so comfortable and look so good! Bottom line is, the Vondys are so incredibly sweet, they are accommodating, and SO TALENTED! I don't know where else you can find that. were the perfect fit to capture our big day. Tyler had worked with The Vondys when he officiated his friend's wedding a few years ago. We had casually met them on a trip to Disneyland with friends and enjoyed their company so much we wound up going to Universal Studios with them the next day! We had several communications with them over email and Skype to get a feel for what they would do to make sure every wonderful moment of the wedding was covered. They did an amazing job in making sure they caught all the little details of the wedding. They also made sure we were good on time before the ceremony while making sure every shot count. On their great advice we did a first look before the ceremony which we weren't really keen on but it was a wonderful way to get a little time with each other before the wedding really commenced. um. They also have a bunch of cool photo products you can purchase too. We saw a lot of examples of things we would have ordered if we had a bigger budget. Be sure to reserve your date early to secure Shannon as the main photographer. An associate photographer took our photos, so we can attest that the quality is there no matter what. But hey, you'll always wonder if they could have been even better with Shannon. 4/5 stars for service is mostly just in case the Knot has something against perfect scores. If I had to complain, I'd say they could respond to emails quicker, but I understand that photographers are really busy. We were a little antsy for our wedding photos, but I'm sure the sheer amount of images contributed to the wait. They did send us a sneak peek to hold us off in the meantime ;). Planning: First, let me say Shannon had a challenge right off the bat working with us. I was in NYC, my then fiancé was in Chicago, and Shannon and our wedding location were in L.A. Yet, even across three different time zones Shannon made it work. We conference called and made it work! The planning was smooth all the way and she was so pleasant to work with. We were having a very difficult time with our potential venue, at times I wanted to throw in the towel and elope and take Shannon with us. We often said “At least we have Shannon for our wedding, thank God.” When we talked to Shannon and shared our troubling times she was very empathetic and HELPFUL, she offered suggestions and provided references. She was so supportive! Since we were based out of town, we had to wait for our in person planning meeting until the holidays. We met at a Starbucks and at this time we met Justin, her co-pilot and fiancé. They really dedicated time to inform of us of our options, showed us samples of products, and talked about our wedding details (to plan accordingly). This reaffirmed our choice. Wedding day: Shannon and Justin were outstanding the day of and very professional. They made sure to capture all of the “must have shots,” and unique shots that only an artist can see. At various times Shannon said “Uh!” I had no idea what she was referring to but, once we saw the pictures, we saw what she was referring to, AMAZING SHOTS! Shannon and Justin were troopers dealing with our “peeps.” They were professional with some inappropriate family members and drunken groomsman. Many apologies. One’s wedding can be a whirlwind and you can’t be everywhere at once. No worries, Shannon and Justin will capture the day! It was great to see all of the things that were going on when you were elsewhere. Something I greatly appreciated was the way they captured the groom’s experience. I saw so many photographers’ work focus predominately on the bride, and we wanted to make sure the groom’s wedding day was also captured. Shannon and Justin did an amazing job capturing the guys being goofy and everything else. The Pictures: AMAZING! All of those times Shannon said “Uh!” We now see what her genius eye was looking at. We got so many complements on the pictures; everyone said they loved them, and that they really captured the day. Mission accomplished, our day was documented in such a beautiful way. Hiring Shannon and Justin was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We look forward to taking family shots once we get our dog and hopefully one day, our child.

But, I did have one requirement: I wanted to choose the photographer. I have seen dozens of friends' wedding photos over the years and a lot of them seemed amateurish, predictable, something anyone with a digital camera could take. No, I wanted someone who would capture the essence of our special day and then some. We also wanted to include our little pups in both our engagement session and wedding. It was difficult to find a photographer who was good with pets AND weddings. We would easily find one or the other, but not both. Shannon was perfect! From the moment we met her to plan our engagement session to the delivery of our wedding albums, she has been nothing but professional, friendly, attentive... the list goes on. Attributes you don't NEED in a photographer, but it sure is nice to have. You sort of have this idea in your mind about how the photos from your special day will turn out after seeing other peoples' sessions. The expectation is high. Well, Shannon met and exceeded that expectation. She puts in extra effort to make you feel like you're her only client. As in the title to my review, I wish I had more occasions to hire Shannon Lee Images, but I only plan on getting married once. Kids? Meh. More Chihuahuas? Why not... Oh, lest I forget, Shannon's assistant and right hand man is also the bomb. He is great as a 2nd shooter and is always full of compliments to make you feel like the most dapper groom in the history of weddings.

No reception. Shannon came up with a custom plan to meet our needs and helped us capture the day. She and Justin even agreed to be our witnesses! They’re so comfortable to be around, and have a great eye for what makes a beautiful shot. Plus, there’s that something extra… these aren’t just pictures. They’re really works of art. What’s especially wonderful for us is how supportive they were of us as a couple and our desire to be married like anyone else. Shannon Lee Images is a great choice for anyone!

, but not many of them have the artistic eye that she has. She just GETS it. There is a huge difference between taking a picture and capturing memories beautifully that will be preserved forever and she does just that. I have received countless compliments on my wedding photos and photo album and one of my really good friends even booked her for her wedding after she saw my photos. I remember discussing with her the first time that I talked to her that I am very self conscious and my one eye likes to close when my picture is being taken and somehow MAGICALLY she managed to take hundreds of photographs where I look beautiful (as I imagine when I look in a mirror) with no weird semi-closed eye. I know it sounds kind of silly, but she is able to catch you at the right moment, the perfect angle and delivers photographs that you WANT to show everyone and are proud of. She does live in Cali and I live in St. Louis, MO so it is competitive when it comes to booking with her, so book fast. Also, she is not your bargain photographer, but worth every last penny. Besides, you get what you pay for. I always told my now husband I do not care how much I spend on wedding photos as long as they are beautiful. Every funeral I have been to, golden age birthday party, or family gathering where loved ones are reminiscing... what pictures do everyone look at? Wedding photos. And everyone oohs and aahs over how young everyone looks and says "Do you remember when so and so was alive?"... These photos will continue to tell our story for generations to come. What are you waiting for? Call her.

table and easy-going in a way that was very helpful given how nervous and high-energy we were. The photos capture not simply the beauty of the landscape and the people involved, but evoke the feeling of the wedding itself. Seriously, 10 stars, she's earned every one.

ready for the wedding, always a bit of a stressful time, we hardly knew she was there, and yet the photographs that she produced were magnificent! I still tear up when I look at them. She truly captured all the emotion of those last few moments before I walked my daughter down the aisle. We had some very specific pictures that we wanted to have and so she and Justin made sure to capture those special moments...the first moment that Kiel and Jen saw each other as Jen walked down the path to the ceremony, the bouquet with her late father's picture in it's locket etc. There was such an intimacy in the photos. They captured all the love and joy that was present on this special day. I honestly cannot say enough positive things about them. Each time that I would think, "I wish I had a picture of this", I would turn around and see one of them taking a picture of it! I would recommend them to anyone, any time for any occasion! They are amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I love you Shannon and Justin!! Thank you Thank You Thank You!!!!!!

We felt that Shannon captured the essence and heart of it and I am very pleased about the memories we formed from that day are now eternalized in a wedding album beautifully designed by her! Shannon is very personable and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera (it helped that we did an engagement shoot with her before the wedding, highly recommended!). I love her work so much I got my friend+family a family session with her for his birthday. :)
