We hosted our rehearsal brunch at The Wayback and we had such a great time! Sydney and Jill helped answer many questions during the planning process and throughout the wedding week...
end. We also stayed on the property for 4 nights and did not want to leave. The grounds, cottages, cafe are beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. The food was amazing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our guests that wanted to stay in downtown Austin and also close enough to our guests staying in Dripping Springs. We look forward to making another trip to The Wayback in the future.
Having our wedding at The Wayback was the best decision. I can not express enough how professional, thorough and thoughtful the entire staff was throughout the whole planning proce...
ss. We loved the space and felt like family instantly and will continue to support them by dining and going on holidays at The Wayback!!
The Wayback hosted us and our family for our wedding weekend and it could not have been any better — we keep remarking that it was actually even better than we had imagined it migh...
t be! The entire experience was completely comfortable, seamless, and dreamy, including the months of planning we did beforehand. Texan hospitality is on full display at the Wayback and we were full beneficiaries of their welcoming, fun atmosphere. Sydney and Vicki have created something truly special at the Wayback and we are so grateful to them and their whole team for making our wedding so magical! We highly, highly, highly recommend the Wayback to all couples looking for a special, intimately-scaled wedding in Austin.
The Wayback Cafe and Cottages will always hold a special place in our hearts. I stumbled upon this little boutique hotel nestled in the Austin Hill Country when looking for a non-t...
raditional location for our upcoming wedding, and immediately fell in love with the charming and intimate setting. It was the perfect place to host a romantic wedding weekend with our closest friends and family. We rented out the grounds for the weekend, our wedding party filling up all eight on-site cottages, for a getaway we’ll never forget.
Not to mention the owners & staff! Sydney is sincere, responsive, flexible, and all-around incredible to work with. As a “destination bride” she was a huge resource and guide, connecting me to an amazing local planner and nearby churches for our ceremony. Sydney, Matthew, and Chef went above and beyond curating a cocktail and dinner menu that showcased our tastes and my husband’s Columbian heritage, even crafting a custom affogato dessert that I’m still dreaming of to this day! Little touches like a welcome note and bouquet in our cottage wishing us a lovely wedding weekend and umbrellas outside our rooms should rain come our way, did not go unnoticed, and had us feeling like family by the end of our stay. We will forever be grateful for the Wayback team for ensuring we have the very best day!
The Wayback was the PERFECT space for our intimate wedding! Not only was Sydney super flexible, but her space is beautiful! Located right outside of downtown Austin, The Wayback pr...
ovides a beautiful scenic view for the ceremony space as well as outdoor/indoor options for the reception space. They require you to book out all of the cottages for two nights when hosting a wedding, so we had our close friends & family stay with us on site turning it into a wedding weekend instead of just a wedding night. I HIGHLY recommend this as it made it like a mini getaway for the people that stayed on the property. After the wedding everyone wished they booked another night because the space was just so peaceful & fun! The guests that weren't in the wedding party got to hang out by their beautiful pool until the wedding & then after the wedding the majority of our guests got to walk back to their cottages where they were staying. One of the big deal breakers for us when looking for a venue was trying to find a space that could provide us with a completely vegan dinner & The Wayback was super receptive of this & sent us multiple options whenever it came time to choose our menu. The staff was friendly, helpful, & very quick on their feet! I am so glad to have found The Wayback as I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else! We now plan to make The Wayback a yearly trip we make for our anniversary because we enjoyed it that much!
We had a great wedding at the Wayback. There were some hiccups in communication but the Wayback staff worked hard to address issues quickly.
We were lucky enough to have our wedding at The Wayback. We rented out of all of the cottages for the weekend so it was our little oasis for our small, intimate wedding. I stumbled...
upon their website when searching for a venue and thought it was too good to be true. After that we followed up by visiting the place, and it somehow managed to exceed our expectations, along with the sweetest most accommodating staff! They worked hard to bring our vision to life and made sure everyone had the most enjoyable experience. I appreciated how much detail they put into making the place so special, and feel like they did the same for our wedding. It was also nice to have them be able to provide so many things in house, such as catering and drinks, to take a little stress off of the planning process. I highly recommend The Wayback as it truly has an atmosphere and feeling that can’t be described.
I had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding out at The Wayback a couple of weeks ago & have nothing but incredible things to say about this beautiful, gem of a venue in Austin!

To start, Sydney & Vicki did an impeccable job creating this much needed boutique venue/ lodging space in the Austin area. When walking on the property, you are surrounded by the gorgeous hills of Austin & immediately feel peaceful. The cafe on site is darling, delicious & has some of the best staff I've worked with. They are prompt, knowledgeable & have the best hospitality.
The day of the wedding, I had nothing but raving reviews from guests about The Wayback's property, staff & food. The bride and groom were beyond happy with the wedding that they planned in less than 3 months, and a lot of it has to do with The Wayback's help!
If you are needing a space to host an intimate, high end wedding, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, bachelorette party, this is the place to go! I will be recommending this venue to all my future brides & hope to have the pleasure of working out there again very soon!
