Two days prior to our outdoor wedding, we needed to do a last minute venue change to an indoor spot. We came across the WBU event venue and gave them a call to see if they had avai...
lability. Natasha was beyond informative and effective in gathering all of the information needed on such short notice on the initial phone call. Laura was able to show us around the next day and was so kind, upbeat and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect in only two days. They cut zero corners. The venue was absolutely stunning in and of itself! You could get away with no added decor :) The bartenders were quick and personable. We had zero complaints and are looking for an excuse to book at the WBU again :)
We want to extend the biggest thank you that we can for making our wedding so amazing. We were honestly blown away by WBU management, the WBU venue, the bartenders, and everything ...
else. Laura and Natasha were absolutely tremendous to work with. So many of our guests were completely mesmerized by the location. This is a great event venue (in a convenient location) that you should 100% use if you are getting married or hosting a large event!
I can not say enough good things about The WBU Event Venue and their venue coordinator, Laura. We fell in love with the venue instantly, as it has a unique, vintage vibe with lots ...
of history and built-in decor. It's moody, romantic, and really roomy! Our guests loved it, as there were lots of places to hang out on the property. The WBU has their own bartending staff, and our guests specifically commented on how exceptional the bartenders were. Overall it was one of our favorite aspects of our wedding, and Laura was so helpful along the way!
I recently had the opportunity to book and work with the WBU to hold my 5/20/2023 wedding there and could not say enough Amazing things. The staff was attentive the whole year with...
emails and questions to ensure our vision came to life. The location is breathtaking, and you couldn't ask for a better space to get married in. Anyone considering a PGH wedding, this is the place to book!
The WBU Event Venue is such a beautiful and unique venue! We decided on the WBU back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding after touring the venue and meeting with Natasha. After the pandem...
ic hit, we had to adjust plans. We postponed our large wedding until 2021 - Natasha was extremely flexible and helpful during this time. She was proactive in communicating potential restrictions which helped us come to the right decision.
We were finally able to have our reception in the fall of 2021 and we could not have been happier with the venue and the services provided. The ballroom space is spacious and and we were able to make it our own. Natasha and her team were so helpful in coordinating our vendors and she even helped us scramble to find a new DJ after our original DJ couldn’t make it the day-of. Natasha truly cared about making sure our wedding was personal and did not look or feel like a ‘cookie-cutter’ wedding and all of our guests noticed. This place is a true hidden gem with the best people behind it!
We loved having our wedding at the WBU! Natasha, the owner and coordinator, was so great to work with - she is professional, organized, and so helpful. She worked with us to resche...
dule our 2020 wedding to 2021 and helped us figure out all the steps through planning and implementing our ceremony and reception. She even ran out for more wine when our guests blazed through our original stock!
Location wise, the WBU is very close to the city, so we were able to get convenient hotel blocks at North Shore hotels that made it easy for our out of town guests to see Pittsburgh. Our party hard guests had an easy time getting Ubers to / from the venue because of how close it was to downtown. There is plenty of parking as well, including parking close to ADA ramps.
Natasha's bar tending staff were also friendly and kept the good vibes going all night. Their help with tear down and clean up made the end of the night easy and stress free.
The venue itself was perfect for our vintage inspired wedding. The ballroom has a classic Americana vibe and an awesome bar. The private green room for getting ready was so useful.
Our guests loved how unique the ballroom was - and they loved being able to try drinks from the brewery downstairs as well. The venue has so much authentic Pittsburgh charm. We really wanted a venue with a personality that would shine and be part of the decor itself, and the WBU did exactly that.
We seriously can’t say enough good things about both the venue and Natasha, the venue owner. First, the venue itself was exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I wanted a ...
space with classic Pittsburgh character, somewhere close to downtown, somewhere that would let us pick our own catering and stock our own bar, and somewhere large enough to hold what ended up being a confirmed guest list of 175. There were very few options that even met those criteria, but it didn’t matter - we knew as soon as we met with Natasha at the WBU that was where we wanted to get married. Natasha and her husband just finished renovating the second-floor ballroom and brought back the charm the room had from decades past. The space feels massive with tall, tin decorative ceilings. The bar area is a huge wrap around with plenty of it’s own character. Our original plan was to use the downstairs space (which is also awesome as it used to be a bowling alley - though you could never tell, unless you looked at some of the old pictures they have on display of what it used to look like - and now has a modern industrial feel), for our ceremony and to host the dinner & reception upstairs in the ballroom. Our timing, however, ended up being cosmically off. Our wedding date was supposed to be March 28th, 2020 and we had to postpone just shy of two weeks before the date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Natasha had already been great to work with before the moment when we had to rearrange everything, but the wonderful person that she is was made more apparent as she helped us work through all of the uncertainty of our second planning attempt for what was now a COVID wedding. We shifted our special day to early November and changed our plans continuously throughout the summer based on what was safe and allowed with ever-changing regulations. Natasha stayed on top of EVERYTHING. We would not have been able to pull the day off without her! The way we were finally able to do our event (adhering to PA event and capacity restrictions) was a much smaller affair where we only used the second-floor ballroom. We had a small celebration with our parents and bridal party. The final set-up was exactly as we had hoped, though again, it would not have been possible without Natasha. We were using lots of decorative greens and berries to line the center of each of our tables - myself and the groomsman were tasked with laying out those decorations since they arrived the morning of the wedding. We are not a particularly crafty group, but as with so many other things, Natasha (who is an incredibly crafty person with a green-thumb) offered her help and guidance and saved the day. When all was said and done, through months of extra stress and a second round of planning, the wedding day was exactly what we had hoped it would be. We have nothing but positiving, incredible memories from our wedding and we want to thank Natasha and the WBU for that even being possible! We wouldn’t change a thing if we were to go back in time and do it all over again. We would host our wedding at the WBU every time and recommend the venue wholeheartedly to absolutely anyone and everyone!
