ertainty due to covid precautions. On our wedding day, he was a very calm presence. We used Derek for our ceremony music and our reception-both of which were awesome! We used an app to enter all of our information for the day and our music choices. We received many comments about how seamless the music was! During the cocktail hour and during dinner, he did a great job picking music that set a fun atmosphere. He was also sure to play songs that we indicated as preferences on the app. He made sure that everything was exactly how we wanted. He worked well with our other vendors, he rolled with last-minute changes, and he was a wonderful DJ! Thank you Derek!!

not have gotten married this year. He helped set us up with a new venue as our original plans were starting to fall through and we were in panic mode. Thank you, Derek. And for the special day, they were absolutely amazing. Easy to get along with and we trusted them to get the party going especially during a global pandemic where many people are still skeptical about gatherings and adjusting their partying style. They made the night flow and kept in constant communication with my husband and I to make sure we were having a good time.

He does a great job of getting to know the couple, and really making the reception reflect them. Neither of us are huge dancers, and a lot of the music we like isn't really music for dancing at a wedding. Derek did a great job of getting an idea of our music taste and reading the room to play what our guests needed. We got lots of comments from our guests about how great the music was that night!

thought it was perfect, considering the event (and I have sensitive hearing!). Some things we especially liked: - Derek was extremely responsive via all forms of communication - Derek was perfectly accommodating of our requests, but he was also real with us (in a way that was polite yet clear) about the things that, in his experience, typically 'work' for weddings -- something we newbies really appreciated - It was such a relief to have Derek for our ceremony, which went perfectly; his mic-jobs (two lapel mics, one on a stand) were perfect and discreet - True to his word, Derek vamped one of our processional songs with a smooth cross fade that probably zero people noticed - Derek didn't just care about getting his own job done and getting outta there; he seemed to have all vendors' itineraries in his head at once -- he was essentially our point man for the entire evening, for all things, not just music (and in that way, he partly helped us to plan the wedding!) - The extent to which Derek interacted with the crowd was just right -- I wouldn't have asked for any more or any less - One of our favorite things: we made a lot of Play-If-Possible song requests that probably weren't very wedding-friendly (e.g. the full studio version of Richard Harris's "MacArthur Park"), but Derek managed to play a truly amazing percentage of them, and all at the perfect moments - Derek was immediately responsive to the movements (as it were) of the dance floor; he'd start a song and, if it wasn't catching, smoothly he would change it with another song and move on - To top it all off, Derek has a cheerful personality and a great sense of humor!

had a coordinator for the reception and he ended up taking over because things were falling way behind in time. I am super glad I went with The Wedding Coach and would recommend him to anyone getting married! Thanks Derek for all the help!

ith scheduling calls across time zones. He was very generous with his time and expertise, listening carefully to our vision and making both practical and creative suggestions for making it a reality. He provided initial resources and then patiently worked through our suggestions for the song list, staging and scripts. He literally went the extra mile to buy the sparklers for our grand exit. On the day, he was thoroughly professional, well organized, kind and pleasant to work with. He ensured the volume of the music was appropriate to the room and the activities. He was flexible as we slipped behind schedule. The dancing was a real highlight of the day, with both the father-daughter dance and couple's first dance scoring big hits as well as tears. Our guests got caught up in the energy and we had a blast. The sparkler exit he arranged was seamless, even with small children involved. Our only regret was that we needed to wrap up the evening so the venue staff could begin take-down. We would highly recommend Derek to anyone.

I was on the dance floor from the first song to the last, minus one or two to catch my breath. He has a good personality and you can tell he likes his job and likes to have fun, all while being very professional. I’m very impressed with him. He is good and he is fair.

e wedding. He is organized and keeps you on schedule (very respectfully) from the beginning of your contract with him. There were so many details that he asked about, that I wouldn't have thought about until the wedding day. These go way beyond "just music", including detailed timelines and special events throughout the night. Having all of these details planned and decided early on is a lot of what I found to be the reason for an almost completely stress-free wedding that I just got to thoroughly enjoy by the time the day came. He helped with advice on suggested music, kept our tastes in mind while ensuring that all of our guests enjoyed their night. He pays such close attention, that songs were changed nearly immediately upon a song leading to less dancing (per one of my ladies- I didn't even notice). We were able to make lists of desired music, which I heard many of and fit perfectly into the rest. No song was unavailable, he made what we wanted happen. In addition to the incredibly helpful organization, easy to work with personality and program, and amazing song lists/banks, my highlight with Derek was his wonderful talent for both the DJ skill and musician aspect. His talent was incredible and added such a special element to our wedding. We would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a DJ. I would never have realized what a crucial role this is to the flow of the event, and appreciated the support throughout the planning process. If the idea of having his planning portion as well seems unnecessary (our venue provided a coordinator), I want to encourage you that he works so seamlessly that it is only an incredible benefit. When we had our planning sessions with any other vendors or the venue, we knew almost exactly what we were doing. He was great to work with all around!
