for our wedding in September '24. One of the main reasons we wanted to book Mike was due to his emceeing abilities to make sure each aspect of our reception flowed naturally. He knows a lot about sound quality and even set up an additional mixer and speaker in the dining room area so that the music audio and mic for speeches would be crystal clear. He worked closely with our Day Of coordinator and the event coordinator at the venue so that everyone was on the same page for the event transitions. During our initial call, we gave Mike a lot of specific details about how we wanted the musical setting to be for the different elements of our reception. We sent Mike our Spotify playlists for cocktail hour, entrances, and dinner, as well as "must-play" songs for dancing. He took the song lists, gave us some additional recommendations, and built the vibe around those impeccably. When it came time for dancing, he was so helpful with incorporating the "flash mob dance" that my mom and some other guests coordinated and then wasted no time getting the dance floor packed afterward. And it stayed packed ALL night! Again, he truly understood what we wanted and made sure to create a club/party vibe. He also gave us recommendations for how many dance props to buy based on our guest count, which I was so glad he did because they were a huge hit and I originally would not have had nearly enough. On top of that, Mike mixed in some of his own super fun surprises for our entrances and a focus on us during some dances. He also gifted us the rental for one of those audio guest books (something I meant to rent but ran out of time for) and it was so incredible! I couldn't believe it when he presented it to us and it was the most fun guest activity. It was even better that he gave us a USB drive with all the recordings that night so that we could listen to them the next morning. There was no need to send back the phone and wait weeks for the recordings like some other audio guest books require. Setting the right mood for the entire evening was extremely important to us and DJ Mike exceeded all expectations. He's friendly yet professional, passionate about creating amazing experiences, and dedicated to catering to exactly what the couple wants. We can't recommend him enough if you're looking for a truly memorable wedding reception!

DJ Mike had all of the popular songs our guests loved and danced to all night long. He interacted with the venue and our officiant to make sure our ceremony and reception went smoothly. He did a wonderful job engaging our guests and keeping everybody on the dance floor. He even played along with the Buffalo Bills “Shout” song and put on a jersey like the rest of us to show our Kansas City Chiefs guests that they were in Bills Mafia country. DJ Mike had a lot of fun add ons to accentuate the venue like, uplighting and a starry night look on the ceiling of our venue. Our guests were so impressed and commented on how beautiful the venue looked. We also got the audio guestbook from him, which was so much fun! We will have our guests voices and best wishes forever to listen to whenever we want. The cake cutting went so smoothly because DJ Mike talked us through it. I would recommend The Wedding Guys 716 to anyone who is looking for a great DJ! We loved everything about DJ Mike Erickson!

at DJ, he is extremely professional and personable. The dance floor was packed all night at both weddings. DJ Mike was super responsive any time we reached out to him during our planning process, he also had a great recommendation for anything we asked for from ceremony songs to walk out songs, to planning the order of events. His online planning website made it easy to plan out the reception and provide song ideas. He also surprised us the night of with some unique ideas that we haven't seen at other wedding such having everyone surround the groom and I in a slow dance and run into hug us during a certain part of the song, bringing tambourines, and suggesting to the crowd to do a conga line during Fireball. We also used his photobooth service which was a huge hit, he had a photobooth attendant to make sure it ran smoothly! 11/10 recommend!

le wandered away from the dance floor as well as an older crowd as it was our second time around…with all these challenges, Mike stepped up his game and catered to the crowd and had some tricks to get the crowd involved! It was really appreciated and gave us some great moments we would not have had without him caring enough to give it his all!!
