We would definitely recommend this venue to any Windsorites looking at venues in Detroit. The cocktails were fantastic, a huge hit with our guests, and added so much to the overall experience. Most importantly, the staff was beyond helpful and professional. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly, and we felt completely taken care of the entire time. Abbey and Amelia are both so lovely and fantastic to work with. If you’re looking for a venue that’s distinctive, fun, and impeccably run, the Detroit Whiskey Factory is it. Spread out over 7,000 square foot with a stunningly ornate industrial interior, it offers couples a unique venue to create unforgettable celebrations. It features a wide range of amenities and a professional event coordination team to help you every step of the way. Every inch of this venue exudes a sense of vintage style and industrial elegance. Whiskey barrels line the walls and it even features an original vintage bar constructed in the 1920s. Originally designed as a brewery for the Goebel Brewing Company in the 1930s, it became an ice cream factory after prohibition turned Detroit into a dry city. Over the years it has retained its industrial loft layout but certain features have been added to give it a sense of modern chic charm. The Whiskey Factory is perfect for celebrating every stage of your wedding, from your walk down the aisle right through to the last dance. With its spacious layout, it can accommodate gatherings of up to 250 guests, with room for a dance floor and live entertainment. ite parking was an added bonus that guests really appreciated. The team we worked with was SO incredible & communicative and seemed genuinely invested in us and our special day. It was a joy to email back and forth with them - we didn't have a wedding planner so we worked directly with the team at the venue and in so many ways they basically acted like planners for us, going way above and beyond working and coordinating with our other vendors. Amelia, Abby & Destiny were incredible to work with. We could not have had a more perfect day in terms of how smooth everything went from service to food to everything behind the scenes - we've gotten rave reviews from guests on the cocktails and the food (which was VERY important to us - we were nervous when there was only one catering option, but 2 Unique did an unbelievable job and really allowed us to customize the meal to exactly what we wanted) as well as the space itself. Cannot say enough about every step of the process with this team :) It's also very cool to be able to revisit our wedding venue when they host other events (we LOVE the cocktail nights!) and it feels like getting to visit our friends! You definitely never feel like just another client with this team - not only do they remember their couples (we had friends who were married here 2 years ago and the team we worked with remembered them as well!) but are genuinely excited to see you again & reminisce. ere. As soon as we walked into The Whiskey Factory, learned the history of the building and company, we IMMEDIATELY canceled all the other venue tours and made a deposit on this venue. We knew it was our venue. It is gorgeous and has so much Detroit history in it! Abby and Amelia were the BEST. I cannot say enough about them!! They were SO attentive to emails and communication and never got annoyed with my thousands of questions, concerns, ideas, etc. They really are so good at their job, and you can tell they love what they do. The catering with Two Unique was absolutely amazing! If you are hesitant to do late-night snacks... do them!! Our guests raved over the cake, dinner, and especially the late-night snacks!! If we could go back in time, we would absolutely choose this venue again, and again without a doubt!

We were searching for a wedding venue that would fit our dark/moody vibes, and weren't shocked to find that most places were either too bright and cheerful or were set in a barn. (...

Both excellent settings for a wedding, but not what we were looking for.) As soon as we saw the Whiskey Factory, it ticked every box in our list, and after taking a tour of the venue, we were sold. It's incredibly unique, and fit the dark and moody vibes all the way through. Working with everyone was easy and truly amazing, and we had the pleasure of working with Kirsten as our coordinator for the event. She was an absolute delight and made the whole night that much more special!! The bar was phenomenal, and we were able to incorporate our cats into the signature cocktails, which was a delight. We had so many compliments from guests about how this was the best wedding they'd seen in a while, and we thought it was truly magical. I would 10000/10 do this again or at least recommend it to everyone!!

They made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. The cocktail tasting with Abby was such a fun part of planning, and on the wedding day itself everything went perfectly. Cocktail hour in the production room was a huge hit with our guests, and the grand entrance in the elevator was a crowd favorite! Bar service throughout the night was phenomenal—we had 172 guests and never once was there a line. The drinks were delicious, the space was the exact vibe we wanted, and everything ran seamlessly. We truly don’t have a single complaint, which is such a blessing when looking back on such an important day. The Whiskey Factory gave us a lifelong, beautiful memory of our wedding, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly!

er to plan our event from out of state. They provided us videos and so much detail that we actually booked it without touring. The team - specifically Abby & Amelia - were an absolute dream. They took every change and request that we had and made it happen. We were never stressed and always felt confident that our day was going to go off perfectly. The space itself is absolutely incredible. We got so many compliments on how unique our venue was and how cool guests thought it was to have the cocktail hour on the production floor. Our ceremony setup and the switch to the reception set up was so great and the room looked so different and beautiful in both settings. The team made our vision come to life and it truly required very minimal decor or effort from our side - the building speaks for itself and has so much natural beauty. We can’t forget the cocktails - which we are still hearing about from our guests months later. We had so much fun at the tasting and it provided such a unique aspect that we were looking for to our reception. We wish we could relive our day at The Whiskey Factory with the team 100 times. team was a DREAM. We immediately knew after our walk through of the venue space that it definitely fit the “vibe” we were going for, but as many other brides, I wasn’t sure where to begin with planning our wedding. Both Amelia and Alyssa were very helpful in being quick to respond to our questions as they came to us, made sure to be very detailed in their responses and even shared what previous couples did for their wedding to provide us some inspiration, which helped us a lot with our decision making. Our wedding day began with some unexpected complications with parking, but Amelia was very calm, organized and handled the stress of the situation with grace. She kept my other vendors well informed on what was happening, all while dealing with the chaos and it was resolved before guests arrived. We were blown away at how beautiful the space looked. It perfectly accommodated our 120 guests and felt very intimate and cozy without feeling too tight. We also received MANY high praises from our guests relating to the space, the fun Detroit City Distillery cocktails and delicious food from Two Unique Catering – pro tip: get the short rib! Only negative comment we heard was in relation to the cocktail hour downstairs - we chose not to spend extra money, but some low-lighting or additional seating would have helped create more ambiance. All in all, it was a perfect evening, and we are forever grateful to the amazing staff for helping us make it so memorable!

We worked extensively with Amelia throughout the planning process who was always so sweet, professional, and happy to answer my countless questions in the months leading up to our wedding day. Their checklists leading up to the wedding took off a lot of stress and put me at ease that I was not forgetting anything. The cocktail tasting was SO fun, and one of our favorite parts of the planning process! Fast forward to wedding day–our wedding could not have gone more perfectly! We had both our ceremony and reception at the venue, and their room flip process was so seamless for our guests! The Whiskey Factory’s bar tenders are quick and personable, and our guests loved that they never had to wait for a drink. We also purchased an empty barrel for our guests to sign, which has become an awesome addition to our basement bar! Our guests raved about how good the specialty cocktails, beer, and other drinks were, and how cool and unique the venue was. and and I with two friends for the cocktail tasting and we really felt comfortable with her. The entire process from start to finish with the Whiskey Factory was seamless and perfect. My mom had zero interaction with the team until our wedding day and did not stop complimenting them - Amelia especially. Once it was time for her to leave, she had another member of her team assisting us (I wish I remember her name but I don't- I'm sorry) and she was also so great. She made sure things were happening when they needed to throughout the reception. The venue itself is so cool. It's been a month since our wedding and our guests have not stopped mentioning how unique and awesome and yet still beautiful everything was. Our signature cocktails were an absolute hit - we had the cherry bomb, rye on fire, and Idol hands. Everything really was amazing and I'm so glad we chose this venue. Bethany was a dream to work with for the planning, and her cohort Alyssa is also top notch. No call went unanswered, no email not promptly returned, and no detail was missed. The day of your wedding is always a little nerve wracking, and to see the entire team pull it off so seamlessly was beyond impressive. We talked to several other venues and none of them seemed as dialed in as the staff at The Whiskey Factory. For us not having an actual wedding planner and doing it all ourselves, Bethany and Alyssa made us feel comfortable and took so much of the extra work and stress off our plates. aged. We were always adamant about having a Detroit wedding but weren’t sure where where to start. We came across the Whisky Factory and fell in love with it immediately. Booking it was one of the easiest and best decisions that we have ever made. Whether it was when we first secured our date, the constant communication and check-ins at certain points before the wedding to make sure we were as ready as could be, or the day of, there communication, insight, and efforts made for the perfect wedding. They have an amazing event team, but have to give a special shout-out to Bethany and Amelia for running the behind the scenes work the day of. Bethany was so helpful from the start with our tasting and helping us decide on which drinks would go best. Everyone is so kind and wants you to have everything you want and dream of on your special day. We are speechless by how beautiful the ceremony and reception turned out. Without the Whisky Factory and their amazing staff, we would not of had truly the most perfect wedding. You cannot beat this venue. If you book with them, they are also a distillery and make all of their spirits and cocktails in house. unique experience of planning a Michigan wedding from out of state, and they made sure we could get a virtual tour before booking as well as extended flexibility in scheduling an on site visit when our travel schedule allowed. We got married at the bar, and the lighting was incredible for our photographer to capture us during the ceremony and as we walked down the aisle as husband and wife! Whiskey Factory also offers a drink tasting which was SUCH a fun way to interact with the venue and make our wedding day unique to us. We got SO many compliments on our featured drinks. They recently started making a tequila drink, and this was a HUGE hit with our guests. We also wanted to include a mocktail option in our batch to be inclusive and respectful of all guest experiences, and Bethany worked with her team to ensure we could add this as well! nd awesome the venue was and people were buying bottles of Detroit City Distillery whiskey to take home to remember the day. Honestly, I'd give The Whiskey Factory 7/5 stars for the staff alone. Planning a wedding from out of state is tough but the venue coordinator, Caitlyn, was immensely helpful throughout the planning process. We were only able to make a trip out to Michigan once before our wedding and made sure to do our drink tasting during our visit. During that time with us, Caitlyn made sure to cover every last detail of our wedding day and my husband and I (+ my in-laws) walked away knowing we were in good hands. During our rehearsal, I was impressed by Caitlyn's ability to wrangle our rather large wedding party (30+ people) and guide us through the ceremony rehearsal with ease. The one thing that truly blew me away was in the 24 hrs between our rehearsal and wedding day, she took the time to count out our ceremony music and made timestamps for when each person of our wedding party would walk out. I also have to give some extra appreciation for the two gals who helped carry my train and my long cathedral veil in the back stairwell during the ceremony. I cannot thank this team enough for ensuring that our ceremony and the rest of the wedding day ran as smoothly as it could and would encourage anybody to host their big day here.

emely smooth with Caitlyn being very quick to respond and clearly the expert on what works well in the space. Before the wedding, we got to do a cocktail tasting with Caitlyn (+ my parents and sister), which was SO fun. The cocktails were delicious and it was a wonderful way to get excited for the wedding in the month leading up to our big day. On the day of the wedding, I felt so taken care of by the WF staff. They mostly worked with our day-of-coordinator, but were really amazing in ensuring that the day flowed smoothly. The cocktails were delicious (even our non-cocktail-loving guests opted for the specialty cocktails instead of beer or wine) and the ambiance was wonderful. What I love most about the space is that you don't need to bring in much decor to make the venue feel warm and inviting - the beautiful hanging lights and rustic space do the work themselves! The Whiskey Factory was wonderful from start to finish (even giving us a wedding present to help us celebrate) and I highly recommend hosting your wedding here.

Great food by Two Unique, great atmosphere, cool guest book ideas (signing an empty barrel) AMAZING photo opportunities (shoutout to our photographer Brettina Mae), great signature cocktails, and just a beautiful day in general. rom out of state, dealing with multiple requests for walk throughs, scheduling our cocktail tasting, answering questions, sending documents and resources, and generally supporting us to make our day look and feel the way we wanted. The space itself is GORGEOUS and allows enough blank space to create the image in your head, without being a completely empty room that one has to fill with decorations in order to feel "dressed" (SO much $$$.) The working floor was perfect for our cocktail hour, and the transition/room flip went so smoothly. We had 115 people who came, and I think we could have easily fit more, but our number didn't get lost in the space either which was great. Our guests were thrilled, and by the end of the night there were conversations about what other kinds of events folks could host there. There was never an "up-sell" there was always wonderful humanity and compassion in our communications, and if we could do it all again we would get married at the Whiskey Factory every time. If you're trying to find an industrial space that has more of a "warm" feeling, and you want to work with the best and most friendly professionals in the business, and you love amazing spirits (we bought different bottles every time we came to visit), this is your place, these are your people.

One of our favorite parts of the planning process was our drink tasting with Caitlyn. She sent over lists and information so that we could make all of the smallest DIY details we wanted happen, like a list of all of the tasting notes for every spirit to create a menu, down to which signature drink we wanted waiting for us in our DCD rocks glasses at the head table. Lizzy helped the wedding party get to where we needed to be before the ceremony, and Caitlyn helped me by literally carrying my veil up the stairs. I almost cried when I saw the venue set up because it was done exactly how I had envisioned. Our guests absolutely loved the drinks and we received so many compliments saying this was the coolest and most unique venue they had ever been to. After almost 2 years of planning, and helping us with everything from custom bridal party proposal gifts to setting up the small details we brought with us the day of, TWF team really brought our dream day to life. During the planning process, Alyssa and Caitlyn were always quick to respond to our emails and were happy to answer all of our questions. They sent helpful checklists as the day grew nearer to keep us on track, and Caitlyn walked us and our bridal party through the rehearsal to make sure everything was perfect for the big day. Both were phenomenal with great and prompt communication, answers to all of my questions, and a TON of help on site the day of our wedding. We absolutely loved working with them. The craft cocktails were a big hit on our wedding day and the venue is truly one of a kind and absolutely stunning. This is a team of reliable and trustworthy people and you will be in the very best hands from start to finish with The Whiskey Factory – we cannot recommend it enough!!

r place. We worked with Caitlyn over the course of almost 2 years to plan our big day. She was easy to work with and very responsive over email answering my 1,000 questions. We had a vision to do a "Take a Seat, Take a Shot" seating chart and she gladly brought it to her team and we were able to do it! It was one of my favorite parts of the reception. If you're considering it, I highly recommend! Overall, anything we were looking to do, WF worked with us to make the vision come to life. The drinks were AMAZING and our guests were commenting on how much they liked them. Caitlyn coordinate with us to drop things off the day before, including the cake which they refrigerated for us, and pick everything up the morning after. Overall, we had an incredible experience and the best wedding day we could have asked for. If you're thinking this venue is your vibe, you won't be disappointed!

lyn (and their team including Brynn and Madison) were the sweetest and I am going to miss working with them. I didn’t end up having the best experience with the day of coordinator I booked but, I still felt confident knowing the WF team was there overseeing everything and wouldn’t let anything bad happen. I know they played a huge part in how seamless and beautiful my day was. They just went above and beyond. Anytime I had a question or needed anything maybe a little out of the ordinary, they responded so quickly and did whatever they could to make it happen! Not to mention, the venue itself is gorgeous and unique. Our guests LOVED it. The bar and bartenders were incredible, you will not get a better cocktail situation at another venue. Our gusts kept raving about how rare it is to get a craft cocktail made to perfection with high end liquor at a wedding. If you want to have the best day ever and with beautiful pictures and the best drink experience, this is the place for you! TY again to the WF team!!!! We loved every minute working with you and every minute of our big day!

The best decision we made was having our wedding here! Not only is the venue amazing looking the staff is amazing! Caitlyn and Alyssa along with the rest of the staff is incredible...

. They answered emails within a timely manner and were very good on giving many options on how to use the space and vendors to work with. The day of the wedding their service was outstanding. The venue looked better then I could have ever imagined and they helped set up a few smaller things like our welcome table and wine station and they went above and beyond. We also had our ceremony here and then the space was flipped during cocktail hour to the reception and it all happened seamlessly. I can not thank the staff enough for everything they did to make our wedding amazing!

to work with in the planning process and day of! I did not have a wedding coordinator and certainly did not need one with how helpful her and Madison were. They truly went above and beyond and I am so thankful for the entire Whiskey Factory team and that we decided to have our wedding there. Also their vendor list is killer - we chose almost all of our vendors from it and they were all INCREDIBLE! Best venue ever!

Whiskey Factory enough. We were sold on it being our venue in January of 2020 for a May 2021 event…of course, the pandemic had other plans for us and we chose to reschedule to April 30, 2022. Throughout all of the uncertainty, Alyssa, Caitlyn and the rest of the staff were incredible. They were very responsive to our questions, and very flexible with us over the 2+ years we worked together. Our guests all raves about the venue, the cocktails, and the staff, too. The space is truly unique and beautiful, we saw a handful of other venues but they did not feel like “us.” Brynn and Caitlyn were with us the day of and they made sure everything was flawless for us. If you’re considering The Whiskey Factory for your special day, do it. You will have the day of your dreams, just like we did! Thank you, Whiskey Factory, we absolutely love you!
