I am so glad I found my dress at the White Orchid! They set up a private time slot for me to try dresses, and they helped pull dresses and narrow down my choices. I had no idea what I wanted, and the staff was so helpful in guiding me through. I also had my dress altered by Michelle, who is some type of seamstress goddess! My dress was purchased off the rack at several sizes too large, and she transformed it into the perfect fit! The prices were reasonable for my budget, and they did not make me feel like my budget was too modest. Highly recommend! Great experience!

I found my dream dress at my first store, the White Orchid. The owner and her staff were absolutely wonderful to work with! Everyone was very helpful and always complimenting me and made it an awesome experience for me! The seamstress they recommended, Michelle, was also wonderful to work with and provided reasonably priced alterations for me! Overall I had an awesome experience at this bridal store and would highly recommend them :)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOP! there's such a difference when you go to a boutique over a chain like David's. I worked with a few different employees and each was super knowledgeable and helpful. I had a type of dress in mind that I though I'd look best in so I picked a bunch that were that style and the woman I was working with, I believe her name was Ginny, recommended a dress for me and I was hesitant since it wasn't what I had in mind. Low and behold this was the dress I ended up falling in love with! they sure know their stuff here!

The White Orchid was a one stop shop for me. Finding my dress was very easy. I initially described what I liked and then we went from there. Amy assisted me and suggested trying several styles just so I knew a little bit of everything. I ended up coming back to the same dress, which was a style I would've not picked initially. From there, the dress ordering and alterations fell into place. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect dress! We ended up getting all of the bridesmaids' dresses and flower girl dress from there also. The store did a great job contacting me about messages from the designer and also when each dress came in. I would certainly recommend The White Orchid!

Highly recommend! 30 years after my mom found her gown there, I didn't have much hope to find a dress without massive sleeves and sequins, But i walked in and immediately found my gown. I cried. I laughed. I felt beautiful. I bought it. I also found my bridesmaids dresses there. My dress is unique and it was about $2,000 less than all of the others I had loved. The service is unbeatable. They made sure I was decked out from head to toe. Gown. Veil. Jewelry. The only downside... My wedding is too far away and I want to wear my gown daily. Highly recommend.

Amy helped me find my dress. I had been to 3 stores total, with more planned. The White Orchid was the second appointment of the day with 3 more lined up after. First we met Amy and I did my best to give a brief description of what I was looking for (which did not go so well at my first store!!!). I liked every dress she put me in. She went through and picked out a bunch of dresses while my group and I browsed through the clearance section downstairs. I ended up between two dresses. One was $1,000 less than the other so I greatly appreciated Amy not pushing me towards the more expensive dress. I felt that she really cared about what was the best choice for me. She was also just so pleasant and made it a really fun afternoon. I did end up selecting the less expensive dress and it was absolutely perfect. I chose to also have the alterations done at The White Orchid. Michelle was the seamstress and her work was flawless. The dress fit like a glove, I was not going anywhere which was definitely a concern in a strapless wedding dress because damn those things are heavy! She had the dress perfectly altered to my body. The length, corset back and everything else was perfect. My dress was also a very delicate lace all over with it being swept over to one side with a little bling, so it did not seem like any easy task! Everyone at that shop was pleasant every time I was there .I would most certainly suggest to stop by to see them if you're wedding dress shopping in the Pittsburgh area. I couldn't have had a more positive experience on top of having a designer dress only $500 (because it was a discontinued style with only one left in the store), also the alterations were extremely reasonable. I needed the dress pulled in about one size and shortened just a little. It took 3 visits, Michelle wanted it to be absolutely perfect and it was!

I have been to what feels like every bridal shop in Pittsburgh and the White Orchid has been the best so far. The 2 sales consultants (shout out to Bobbi as she was amazing and treated me like family) patiently listened to exactly what I was looking for. They were respectful of my budget and did not force me to try on any dresses that I was "just not that into". They know their stock and have many beautiful dresses from Maggie Sottero and Casablanca. I highly encourage you to shop at The White Orchid for your wedding dress.

The White Orchid was the first and only shop that I needed to go to! The staff were so helpful and kind, even though I took forever during my appointment and they were at closing time. I found my perfect dress off the sample rack for an extremely reasonable price, and the consultant was a great listener and only pulled what I wanted to try on. The only sticking point was the high price tag on the alterations, but it was understandable as I had a complicated bustle and alterations that involved rearranging lots of lace. A great little shop with so many beautiful dresses and solid service!

Everyone was so friendly every time I went in shopping for my bridal gown. They have a basemant with lots of discounted dresses that is always full of gowns about 50 percent off. That's where I found mine! The seamstress Ilda was very friendly and it one took her one fitting to get it right! Very professional and had a great time going to the appointment. I was so worried the dress was not going to fit because she had to take in the top but she made it look beautiful and I cannot wait to wear it on my big day! Thanks

I had such an amazing experience at the White Orchid! The saleswoman, Ginny, who helped me out, is clearly a really nice person. She listened to me and asked me all sorts of questions to get to know me and my style. She carefully curated a selection of dresses that she thought would suit me and let me tell you, they all looked amazing on me! When I was trying on one of the last dresses, Ginny decided to pull one other dress that she thought would be the unique look I wanted. And it ended up being the dress I ordered! It was so beautiful. And the other employees helped out by providing veils for me to try out, a lace headband they thought would compliment the dress, and even pulling out a fake bouquet to get the full effect! We had scheduled several appointments at bridal salons that day, but ended up calling and seeing if we could go back to try on my two favorites and decide. They were so accommodating and welcomed me back a second time. This time, they decked me out with jewelry and veils and adjusted the lights so I could decide between the two. Ginny even started to cry when I did, trying on the dress that I chose for my wedding. They made my experience so special and made me feel really heard and seen. Ginny and The White Orchid helped me figure out the perfect dress for my wedding, now I can't wait to go back when my order comes in to get fitted!! Update: I also went through the White Orchid's seamstresses for alterations to my wedding dress. The dress fit like a glove and I got compliments all night on how beautiful I looked! The dress was comfortable and moved beautifully. The bustle was super elegant too. I also bought a veil through them and it was gorgeous! Definitely go to the White Orchid if you're a local bride!

If you're looking for an intimate bridal shopping experience, The White Orchid is the place to go. Every time I was there, it was not crowded, and the workers there were very patient and attentive. They don't have a huge selection of dresses, but they have enough styles that I felt like I got to try on enough dresses without feeling overwhelmed. I also had a great experience with the alterations department. Prices are reasonable, too.

My girls and I found our gowns and got bargains. What more can we ask for? This shop is the best!!

The White Orchid was totally amazing. They really listen to you - the saleswoman who helped me asked me specific questions about my budget and tastes and only showed me gowns that fit into my budget and my style. I went to other shops but found they didn't give that same sort of service so ultimately ended up back at the White Orchid. I bought my gown as well as my veil here and my girls all got their bridesmaids' gowns here. We also purchased the flower girl's dress here. I always found their selection to be well-curated - small but with wonderful pieces. The staff was always friendly and attentive. I honestly cannot recommend them enough! Tina in the alterations department does an excellent job and has a great eye for detail. Thanks to all at the White Orchid for helping to make my day so beautiful and unique!

Shopping at the White Orchid was an amazing experience from beginning to end! I scheduled my appointment far in advance, but found out that my sister had changed her flight and I needed to push my appointment back. When I called the shop Patti explained that they were incredibly busy that day and probably would not be able to push my appointment any later. However, she looked at my wedding date (which was quickly approaching) and said that she would put my appointment later in the day and if I went past closing time, she would stay with me and help me find my gown. Amazing! And I hadn't even met her yet. When we got to the shop Patti looked at me and a few pictures of the types of gowns that I liked and went back to start pulling dresses. Every. Single. Gown she pulled for me was perfection. This woman knew exactly what I wanted just from meeting me for a few minutes! She is amazing! I would have worn every single one of those gowns down the isle. Their selection is incredible! The shop cleared out as closing time was approaching, but all of the staff stayed!! Every staff member was helping pull vails, jewelry, belts, and every accessory to take each dress to the real bridal level. They even turned the lights off and put a spotlight on the podium so that I could see the dresses sparkle. I had SO MUCH FUN!! These people are amazing! They clearly love what they do and they love helping brides select something special that makes them feel absolutely amazing. They made my day so exciting and fun! I am so happy to have found my bridal gown there and I can't wait to go back for my first fitting. Thanks White Orchid!! And especially Patti! You guys are truly wonderful!

I found the perfect dress at the perfect price here! The staff made me feel like I was part of their family! The only thing I didn't care for there was the seamstress..I had to take my dress to have it altered at a second place after they already altered it! Other than that everyone was awesome!

My dress was absolutely beautiful. Some of the ladies are great and nice but some eh... they could use some work on their customer service skills. I probably could have found my dress cheaper if I looked around.

The White Orchid was convenient - which is why I went there to purchase my gown. The staff, on my first trip, was not very helpful. I'm trying to buy a wedding gown - had an appointment, didn't just walk in - and the sales woman was distracted by teenagers trying on homecoming gowns. All three visits after the initial one were ok - I still wasn't impressed by the staff, but they seemed more attentive once I actually ordered my gown and went for fittings. The seamstress was most helpful and accommodating. She was very open to ideas and very detail oriented. I was very pleased with the alterations. My dress turned out absolutely gorgeous and my wedding was beautiful, but I was not overly impressed with The White Orchid service.

I am a Georgia girl who has found her way to Pittsburgh. So when it came time to find my wedding dress I was at first very put off by a lot of dress shops in Pittsburgh. I felt pressured everywhere I went and everyone was trying to push me outside of what I wanted both in style AND in price! My Mother was visiting and our goal was to find my dress before she had to go back to Georgia. It was our last day and our last chance. Thankfully we found ourselves at the White Orchid. The outside is very unassuming and you can easily miss it if you're not careful. But once you're inside, its not like you've entered a shop but rather someone's home. The ladies who work here are delightful, it was like trying on dresses with family. With their guidance and expertise I was able to find my dream dress!! After the initial purchase I then returned for the fittings and that experience was also wonderful! From beginning to end I was so thrilled with The White Orchid! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be treated well and have an excellent selection of dresses to choose from. Choosing the White Orchid was one of the best decisions I made during my entire wedding planning process!

The atmosphere was perfect for a small group and my first (and only) time dress shopping. Once I found my dress, they were willing to ship it anywhere for me (I had taken a job out of state for awhile and wasn't sure where I'd be when The dress came in) the seamstress accommodated my work schedule and did all changes I needed flawlessly.

The White Orchid was the first and last bridal shop that I went to because of their wonderful selection and even more wonderful staff. Customer service is so important to me, and after working with Patty, I had no doubts about buying my dress from the White Orchid. She was sweet and patient, and pulled dresses that were exactly what I wanted. I actually just purchased a dress last night. It's beautiful, and I am so pleased with the whole experience. I would definitely recommend the White Orchid to any bride-to-be. They have such beautiful gowns, and the pricing is very reasonable. I am so excited about my dress, and so happy with my decision to buy from the White Orchid!!

I didn't go to a bridal shop in my town because I wasn't impressed with their service from previous weddings I was in. When I went to The White Orchid, I had another appointment booked for later that day. I went in, gave a few ideas and my budget. They pulled about 8-10 dresses matching what I liked and were very patient with me trying them on! I was so surprised that every dress they pulled went right along with my ideas! Once I found, "the one," they did not pressure me at all! They simply said when I would need to order by, but that I had plenty of time to look around... i cancelled my other appointment immediately and ordered! Most amazing experience I have ever had in a bridal shop!!! :)

This was the second dress shop I had gone to. I didn't have a good experience at the first place, so I wasn't in the best mood. At the first shop I went to, I kept telling them what I liked (lace, form fitting, etc.) and my price range and they would bring out dresses out of my price range and they weren't the style I had liked... all together they were kind of snobby. When I went into the White Orchid, I told the woman about my experience so I wanted to be clear about what I wanted. She was so helpful! She made me feel so comfortable about finding my wedding dress and really helped me find exactly what I wanted. We really liked it. We had the dress altered there, and I wasn't a huge fan of the seamstress. She wasn't very friendly and I didn't always feel comfortable at our appointments but she did a great job and the dress fit perfectly! Dress hunting is tough, but I'd recommend taking a peak inside this shop.

My bridal gown, bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride dress were all purchased from The White Orchid. The ladies at The White Orchid are absolutely the best! They made you always feel welcomed and were always willing to help. We had a private dress party (highly recommend) to pick out dresses. It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon with fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, and sangria! There was one issue when my mother’s dress ended up not working out a week before the wedding, but not to worry for Barbara at The White Orchid was able to get her another dress, have it altered, and have it ready for my wedding! I highly recommend The White Orchid for their selection, quality and the wonderful personalities of the women that work there!

The gown I chose was the first one I tried on! It was perfect! The staff was all very friendly and helpful. I didn't need many alterations to the dress but Michelle did an excellent job to the alterations I did need. Alterations were not included in the price of the gown. I also got my bridesmaids dresses here. The girls got a 10% discount since I got my gown here as well. I would recommend this place to other soon to be brides:)

DO NOT SHOP HERE! If I can stop one person from having to go through the same awful disaster that I'm going through right now, then I will feel that it was all worth it. Nothing has gone right with this place from the beginning!! I have five bridesmaids (All are a size 2-4 in regular clothes and one is a size 6). NOT A SINGLE DRESS FITS AND NOBODY AT THE WHITE ORCHID IS DOING ANYTHING TO FIX THIS! I understand that all dresses need altered, but they ordered a size too small for all of the girls! They all spent $200+ on the dress to begin with and now are having to spend more money to have material added to the dress just so it will fit! If this was one or two dresses, fine I understand that, but everyone?!?! I find it ironic that they really push you to do alterations there and then your dresses need tons and tons of work to it. And it's not like the dresses are just a bit snug! They won't close in the back by 3+ inches. The owner knows the situation and has not been one bit helpful. Her solution is to swap out the sample dress which is a size 12 with one of the dresses that is too small. Well, they have one sample dress and I have 5 girls with dresses that are way too small! So how exactly would that work?!?! They have NOT been helpful and they have NOT done anything to fix this situation. They do get back to me relatively quickly anytime that I call, but that has been the only positive. I got my dress at MB Bride. SO glad I didn't go with the White Orchid for my dress! MB Bride is far from perfect and they have made some mistakes with my dress and also the bridal jewelry, but the difference is that they go out of their way and above and beyond to fix things! I've been 100% pleased with them! Please don't waste your time and even step foot into the White Orchid!

The staff at the White Orchid was wonderful. I was the first Bride to have a private party where they shut down the shop for 2 hours and I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted. They served Sangria, crackers, cheese and fruit. My family and I had a great time. I ended up finding my dream dress that night. It was a Maggie Sottero. I also got my bridesmaids dresses, which were absolutely stunning. I would recommend anyone go to The White Orchid.

I went to eight different bridal stores and was sooo happy that I found the White Orchid. The ladies were wonderful to work with. The sales lady made a suggestion to alter a wedding dress by adding a belt! Completely changed the dress and I fell in love with it! They went above and beyond , allowing me to try on my dress multiple times! The seamstress that fixed my dress did a wonderful, affordable job. I was so happy with the White Orchid!

From day one of showing up at the White Orchid without an appointment (during prom season)to look for a wedding gown... everyone in the boutique was extremely friendly to myself and my mom and my sisters. This was refreshing because we had stopped at another bridal store not far from the White Orchid first and the staff there was extremely rude to us. At the White Orchid, it was completely different. Even though they were busy with other appointments, they didn't turn us away or make us feel unwelcome at all. The ladies working simply asked us if we wouldn't mind taking a look around downstairs for a little while until one of them finished with their appointment and could help us. We did just that and I'm proud to say that I found the gown of my dreams at the White Orchid that very evening!!!

I was new to the Pittsburgh area when I got engaged and found myself looking for a wedding dress. The ladies here were so incredibly helpful, especially Bonnie. The dresses were beautiful and reasonably priced. I am not in the final stages of my dress alterations and the seamstress, Michelle, has been wonderful. I recommend the White Orchid to any bride in the Pittsburgh area!

I was very impressed with the alterations made by the seamstress - she did an awesome job! The dress was made to fit perfectly!

The White Orchid was the first any only stop I made. They were not busy that day so they let us extend our appointment and we found the perfect dress. The staff was courteous and easy to work with. I loved that we came in under budget!

Looking for and purchasing my wedding dress at the White Orchid was a wonderful experience. They did a great job helping me find the dress that I would love, but also within my budget. They were very respectful and helpful in any request that I had. They also did a great job with my fitting and everything else to get my dress ready for the wedding day. All but one of the women who works there are fantastic. They were such sweet women who know what they're talking about. I had one bad experience with one woman (who I only saw that one time there) and she just plain rude. She was demeaning in speaking with me and was not helpful. However, I do not want her to ruin the reputation of the shop, but I really did enjoy every other experience there. But if you go there and get her, ask for someone else! I promise the rest are really great!!

After going to a bunch of dress shops, white orchid was definitely the best in the area. The service was great and the employees were genuinely happy doing their job! They make the experience wonderful and they listen to what you are looking for. Definitely recommend to all brides in the area.

What a great bridal boutique. We went to try on dresses and they first pointed me to the sale rack and said, go through and pull anything you like. Instead of trying to push an overpriced dress on me and not showing me the sale and discontinued styles they wanted me to get the best deal possible. Everyone was extremely helpful and I got a $1400 dress for $650. The alterations were only $125 and they were extremely nice every time we went in. There is no minimum that you have to put down when you buy a sale dress all you have to do is pay it off before you get alterations so I was able to pay the dress off over 7 months which really helped with the budget. Great boutique!!

I am originally from the Pittsburgh area and this is where my family is still located. I now live out of state so shopping for a wedding gown with my mother and sister was only going to be able to happen when I came back home during the Christmas season. We scheduled an appointment for the day after Christmas and were treated like royalty from the moment we stepped in the door. I brought along pictures of what I had in mind so the sales woman pulled gowns like my pictures and a few others she thought I should try on. I had decided before I even went in there that I would try on anything, but I wasn't going to spend more than a certain amount. The first dress I tried on was nothing like my pictures I brought in and it was the dress! It was a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown and I got it on sale too! I would recommend this store to any Pittsburgh bride. They were personable, knowledgable and had any type of dress you could want to try on!

The White Orchid had the perfect dress for me! Everything was well taken care of and perfect. I didn't have any problems with them or the seamstress. After meeting with the seamstress, when I went in to see how it fit after the alterations - it was perfect. Nothing more needed to be done and we scheduled my pressing.

We worked with the owner Barbara who pulled a bunch of dresses for me, one more beautiful than the next. She understood exactly the feeling I was wanting from the dress and was very patient with me (as I am possibly the most indecisive person on Earth). The staff and seamstresses were all lovely to work with as well. There was actually a error that the dress manufacturer made (not the fault of the White Orchid) and the dress shop went out of their way to make sure I had a new dress made and rush shipped to me on time for my wedding day. They were so understanding and accomodating. I would recommend them to any one!

I bought my wedding dress at The White Orchid. The staff were professional. I bought a beautiful dress that was no longer in production so I bought the rack sample and the price was great.

Great dress shop - the ladies at the shop were so friendly and helpful in my dress search. They carry Casablanca and Maggie Sottero. I ended up getting a Casablanca - it came in around when they said. I had my alterations at the store too - they were a little pricey but that's to be expected at any dress shop. The reason I gave their service 4 stars is that I felt like I had to make so many appointments to get my dress. They called me to tell me my dress was in and if I'd like to try it on. I said yes and made an appointment, not realizing that I literally only got to try it on. I had to make a separate appointment to get it fitted. Maybe that's obvious but to me it wasn't - I had never bought a wedding dress before and wasn't sure of the process. Anyway it wasn't a big deal and my dress turned out PERFECT! I recommend The White Orchid.

I loved my wedding dress and this cute little shop. My only complaint was that some of the people there didn't seem to wait on you very well. They tended to stand back and let you take over. Depending on what you prefer, you might like that. One thing I loved was that they did not force me to get an over-sized gown. My previous experiences with formal gowns has been that they give you a huge dress and make you pay a ton in alterations. This place sized me appropriately and it nearly fit without alterations (until I lost a few lbs). Overall, a nice place to work with! I adored my dress!! They have a secret line that i couldn't find elsewhere!

The White Orchid had one beautiful gown after another. The ladies were very helpful and found me something that fit my personality perfectly. Parking was a bit of a hassle and sometimes getting waited on took a while, especially when there for fittings.

They helped me pick out a veil and since I waited until last minute to make a decision on it they had the veil rushed ordered it so I would have it in time for my wedding! They have a great collection of dresses plus its so much better than a big store like David's! I got a Maggie Sottero dress and LOVED it!

I fell in love with the first dress I tried on and it was a great price. I also appreciated how they store your dress there until right before your wedding and have in-house seamstresses who are reasonably priced

I looked at about 5 different bridal shops before the one closest to my home! Should have went here first to save time! Outstanding service & NOT pushy at all!! I found my dress within 5-10 minutes of being there!! They were helpful & have a great selection- mine was Maggie Soterro. I also got my bridesmaids dresses there- good selection with a discount! Definitely a great place to check!

It was a positive experience to order and alter my wedding dress through the White Orchid. The shop has a very nice atmosphere, the prices are reasonable, and the staff was great. I was particularly impressed with the alterations of my dress. I had four appointments (and we only planned on three) just to make sure everything was perfect, which it was. I was so impressed with how fast the alterations process went and for all of the advice I was given. The dress turned out absolutely perfect. My only critique is something that cannot be helped. The location was somewhat hard to get to, as there was always so much construction in Pittsburgh! Overall, the White Orchid was wonderful to work with.

This is a small shop that specializes in only 4 or 5 wedding designers. They only carry quality dresses and it shows. The staff are all very experienced and so personable. I have referred 4 different brides there, and they all bought their dresses from them. A definite stop on your dress shopping!
