From the moment we began planning to the final dance of the evening, the William Aiken House exceeded every expectation. As the planner and designer for Karina + Brenden's wedding,...
I can confidently say it's one of Charleston's most magical venues.
The property is incredibly versatile, allowing each space to feel like its own experience while maintaining a seamless flow throughout the evening. The historic architecture, lush courtyard, and timeless interiors create an unforgettable backdrop without ever competing with the design.
What truly sets the William Aiken House apart is the team. They were professional, accommodating, and collaborative from start to finish. They worked alongside every vendor with kindness and efficiency, making even complex production details feel effortless. That level of partnership is invaluable on a wedding day.
For couples dreaming of a wedding that feels elevated, intentional, and uniquely Charleston, the William Aiken House offers the perfect canvas. We're so grateful to have celebrated Karina + Brenden here and can't wait to return.

dding weekend itself, everyone was warm, organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. The William Aiken House is absolutely stunning, but what sets this venue apart is the people behind it.
Sophia, Isabel, and the entire staff were an absolute dream to work with. They guided us through every detail, and made us feel completely supported every step of the way. On the wedding day, everything ran seamlessly, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every moment.
Our guests are still talking about how incredible the service was. So many people commented on how attentive, friendly, and professional the staff were throughout the entire evening. Everyone felt welcomed and taken care of, which meant so much to us.
The venue itself is pure Charleston magic, with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces that created the perfect backdrop for our wedding. It was everything we dreamed of and more.
Choosing The William Aiken House was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. We are so grateful to the entire team for helping create such an unforgettable weekend and would recommend them wholeheartedly to any couple looking for a truly exceptional wedding venue.

The William Aiken House was an incredible wedding venue and everything we could have hoped for. They made the wedding day so special but they were also so easy to work with through...
out the whole process. The location can’t be beat and being able to utilize both the inside of the house and outside area provided versatility while feeling very unique. They were able to accommodate all special requests we had with certain menu items and we very much believe it is the best wedding food that we have ever had! The chicken & waffle appetizer is a showstopper and guests loved the walking oyster shucker. Being able to trust the in-house food and not having to find an outside vendor was a major plus for us. The PPHG team was very professional to work with, we had no complaints, and they also made our wedding tasting feel like such a special experience. We would highly recommend the William Aiken House for anyone considering it for their wedding venue!

Not only is the venue stunning, but the PPHG staff are the best of the best. Jackie squeezed us in for a last minute tour, and every team member we emailed with afterwards answered all our questions with patience and kindness. Sophia, our event manager, made our tasting SO fun, and on the wedding day made sure we had everything we needed and more. We felt so spoiled!
All our guests raved about the food, the synchronized service, and the beautiful setting. We could not recommend it more!!

The William Aiken House is truly the perfect place to get married. I loved that there is a dedicated space for each part of the wedding day- it all feels separate yet seamlessly co...
nnected. The historic home itself is stunning, with so much character, beautiful art, and thoughtful details throughout. The indoor/outdoor flow of the venue makes the entire experience feel elegant and effortless.
We worked with Sophia and Isabel, and they were absolutely wonderful- quick to respond, incredibly helpful, and very professional. While I had a planner, they were still extremely supportive when it came to the flow of the evening, establishing the menu and making sure everything ran smoothly.
The food and service are truly unmatched. It was hard to narrow down our menu choices, but the chicken and waffles, pecan chicken, and crab cakes were standout favorites and everyone raved about my signature cocktail- a tequila lavender lemonade (highly recommend!). Also, the entrées were phenomenal and served hot, and our guests loved that everyone was served at the same time- it was such a polished, classy touch. From the bartenders to the servers, the entire staff was friendly, kind, and attentive.
Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience and could not recommend the William Aiken House more for a wedding or special event.

ndoor and outdoor spaces was ideal. Although we had our own planner, the planning staff at WAH was exceptionally communicative and professional.
And then there is the food and service—simply out of this world. I have attended many weddings over the years, and I can honestly say I have never experienced better food at a wedding. You typically attend weddings expecting the dinner to be “just okay.” Not here. Every single bite was exceptional, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The service was equally remarkable—professional, gracious, attentive, and flawless from start to finish.
The William Aiken House exceeded every expectation we had and created an unforgettable experience not just for our daughter and son-in-law, but for every guest in attendance.

In addition to the absolutely stunning venue itself, the PPHG catering is top tier! Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was and how it was probably one of the best wedding meals they've ever had! The food selection is so expanse and every single entree, appetizer, etc. was absolutely delicious.
The PPHG staff were also an absolute breeze to work with. The ladies I worked with most, Isabel, Olivia, and Jillian were so great with communication, efficient, and organized. Additionally, they were so so amazing with accommodating our budget and wedding size (we had a smaller wedding approx. 50 people.) My brother has severe autism as well and Olivia made sure that he was comfortable on our wedding day/with food choices - I cannot even express how much that meant to me!
Even if you don't choose William Aiken House, all of the PPHG venues are absolutely stunning. Just working with PPHG overall honestly is the cherry on top of their amazing venues.
Thank you ladies so so much for being a part of our big day and helping us to bring our vision to life! We are immensely grateful and would recommend this venue and staff to every person who is looking to get married in Charleston!! <3

From the very beginning, our experience with The William Aiken House and the entire PPHG team was nothing short of amazing. Not only is the venue itself absolutely stunning (it tru...
ly speaks for itself), but the people behind it make it even more special. Sophia and the whole PPHG team were incredible to work with—communication was seamless, execution was flawless, and every detail was handled so thoughtfully. The food was outstanding, our guests are still talking about it. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and added so much to the overall experience.
We also had the absolute dream team of Emma and Jordan from Peninsula Events (PPHG’s in-house planners), and I cannot say enough about them. They are hands down the best planners ever. They made the entire planning process fun, stress-free, and truly enjoyable, and they brought our vision to life in a way that was beyond anything we could have imagined. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a single thing. They created the most beautiful wedding for us!
One thing I was initially sad about was having to put the rain tents up, but somehow this team made me forget they were even there. The space was still absolutely gorgeous, and I don’t know how they pulled it off. They completely shifted my mindset, put me at ease, and made sure I could fully enjoy the day without worry.
On our wedding day, everything came together perfectly. Our guests are still raving about how gorgeous the space was, how smooth the evening flowed, and how kind and attentive the staff were. We felt so supported every step of the way, and I can honestly say the day was stress-free because of them. I couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else, and I am endlessly grateful to Sophia, Emma, Jordan, and the entire staff for giving us a day more perfect than we ever dreamed.

The space itself is absolutely gorgeous, between the beautiful indoor space and lush outdoor space. Our guest LOVED the venue as they were able to enjoy all the space and our event had a lovely flow. We held our ceremony on the front lawn, cocktail hour indoors, the reception in the lot and the dance floor in front of the carriage house. We had 150 people in attendance and the space was perfect for our wedding size. The food and drinks were INCREDIBLE! Our guests raved about our signiture drinks, which was an espresso martini and old fashion, and all the food from apps to entrees to desserts to our late night bites. Truly the best food at a wedding I’ve ever had. Overall our wedding day was a dream and went off without a hitch, in large part to the awesome team we worked with along with the beautiful space! We highly recommend the William Aiken House for your Charleston wedding venue! From the moment we first toured the property, we knew it was the perfect place for us to get married....
Not only is the property stunning and well-maintained, but the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming as well. The staff and our event manager, Jordan, were proactive and communicative for the whole period leading up to wedding day, sending detailed reminders as deadlines approached and gently ushering us through the entire process. They were very attentive to detail and were accommodating to dietary restrictions and special requests. The food & beverage program is all done in house and it is AMAZING. They do an incredible job with the food and we had many guests commenting on how much they loved the food and some said it was one the best dishes they've ever had! The seated plated dinner service was well executed and service was top notch. We also loved that you can utilize and arrange each space of the property however you wish -- we chose to get married in front of the carriage house, have cocktail hour inside the house, our dinner service in the oyster tabby lot and dancing on the front lawn. Our guests loved getting to see all parts of this historic Charleston space! It's also very conveniently located downtown on King St, which was ideal as many of our guests were from out of town and they were able to walk or take a quick Uber ride to the venue. We could not be more happy with our choice of William Aiken House for our wedding! Everything was so well executed and better than we could have imagined. Thank you to PPHG for helping to bring our wedding dreams to life!!

ential Charleston. What you can't see in photos is just how amazing the rest of the experience is. The staff is simply incredible - from our first meeting to the tasting to the wedding day itself, we were amazed by how professional, friendly, and kind the entire staff was at WAH. The food and beverages were just incredible. We picked mostly selections that were on their special events menu but also opted for some custom options. WAH knocked it out of the park with everything!
Another thing that we loved about WAH was your ability to create spaces in different parts of the venue. We had cocktail hour indoors, a seated plated dinner under a tent that was set up over the oyster tabby and the carriage house lot, and the live band was set up over the pond with the dance floor in the grassy courtyard. The flow of the event along with the mix of indoor and outdoor space was absolutely perfect!
I could go on and on about a million things that we loved about WAH - they really went above and beyond for every single piece of our wedding!

is gave them the perfect Charleston experience. There was such a great mix of spaces with the beautiful interior of the house and the expansive courtyards. It gave us a lot of freedom and flexibility when picking our layout. With the location being right in the heart of downtown it was super easy for everyone to navigate, and it also allows a fun late night vibe for our crowd that wanted to keep the party going at the near by bars!
As I am writing this now almost two months following my big day, my guests are still raving about the food. I have never heard our families gush about anything the way they have gushed about the food at our wedding! Our Event Manager, Erin, was so amazing at communicating with us and explaining the flow of the event to my family. At our menu tasting we had a hard time narrowing down our final selections because everything was so good - you truly cannot go wrong! Erin made sure to bring my husband and I hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and plates from the stations during dinner, so we did not have to think twice about making sure to stop and actually eat! The staff was top notch, the service was seamless. Never a long line at the bar or glasses piling up!
I also need to shout out the Peninsula Events team!! They did such a fantastic job bringing my vision to life. I had a hard time trying to articulate the vibe I was going for and after the first design meeting everything was spot on perfect. Their communication throughout planning was stellar, always making sure I had plenty of time to look through things before due dates. No detail was overlooked! Day of Taylor and Emma made sure that everything came together beautifully - they took care of not only my husband and I but our families too to make sure they felt like VIPs.
The Patrick Properties experience is like none other - there are no words to describe how truly grateful we are for them and the part they played in making our dreams reality!

Well, if the venue alone doesn't absolutely sell you, let me tell you that the team will. I am picky. I am a lot. I am OCD and over the top and borderline neurotic when it came to ...
planning, and this team of angels were absolutely AMAZING. I had a terrible experience with my planner (not affiliated with this venue), and this venue team stepped in and stepped up so far above and beyond their call of duty. They were helpful, kind, compassionate, PROBLEM SOLVERS, on top of everyyyything, reassuring, professional, calm (! such a helpful characteristic in a wedding vendor), encouraging and mroe. They LISTENED. And listened and listened. They never once made me feel like I was bugging them or asking too many questions. And I asked a ton. They gave their input, when they really didnt have to - not like its part of the contract or anything. Their input made sense; their input made me feel at ease and stop my merry-go-round/snowballing of decision making. I felt so at ease with them and so confident and at peace with whatever decision was at hand because THEY weighed in. They are EXPERTS and they really really good at what they do.
I got magical fairy goosebumps the day we walked into William Aiken. It's an incredibly special place. I knew the instant I peered in the tall gorgeous iron gates that it was our spot. But I fell in love with Erin, our sales team person, right away too. I didn't think it could get any better than Erin and was bummed that because she was in sales, our journey together would come to a close once the contract was signed and planning started. Not only did Erin not disappear and continue corresponding and communicating and providing her extremely valuable input, BUT - then I met Kailin who was our {Senior <3} Event Manager. Once the sales process is complete, she takes over for day-of shenanigans. Homegirl is the absolute bad assiest, coolest, greatest, sweetest event manager there could possibly be. If I could dream up an event manager, she'd check every box. I loved her so much that if I get married again, I'm going back to William Aiken and I'm asking for her hand as my bridesmaid.
For brides planning and interested in a Charleston venue, there's not a chance on God's green earth you'd regret choosing the William Aiken House or the Patrick Properties team.

Southern Charm Perfection. I never dreamt that I would get married in Charleston, let alone in a venue as romantic as the William Aiken House. From the bright colors, and historica...
l architecture to the well-manicured garden and cobblestone paths, this was a dreamy spot to tie the knot. We got married in October 2023 and I couldn’t be happier with the final result. The venue was perfect. PPHG and the staff were amazing throughout the whole process from initial contact with Erin to their in-house planners, Abby Frye who was fantastic - she took all the guesswork out of it, made it an enjoyable experience, and the final result was stellar - more than what I could have imagined - to Nadia who helped us at the tasting experience and made sure we were never left out of food or drinks at our wedding. Abby and Nadia were a Godsend on the day of the wedding. All of our guests raved about how beautiful and how classy the venue and event were, how delicious the food was especially the crab cakes and oatmeal cream pies, and how nice all the staff were. We felt very welcomed and supported by Abby and the PPHG team - they all went above and beyond and I would recommend them over and over again.

helpful throughout the planning process, from an extremely informative initial tour of the venue to helpful information packets and brochures to a wonderful tasting experience at Parcel 32 to everything they did for us on the wedding weekend itself. So many of our guests raved about how beautiful the venue is, how delicious the food was, and how nice all of the service staff were throughout the night. We felt very supported throughout the whole weekend, and PPHG truly went above and beyond to make sure we got to enjoy our day, including waiting with one of each our signature cocktails for us and two of each of the hors d'oeuvres and food station items so we got to enjoy every detail. Highly recommend!

y. The team answered all of our questions and provided an excellent virtual tour of the property. Despite this virtual tour and seeing so many photos, our in-person visit completely blew us away. The property is breathtaking in person due to its grand scale. During the wedding planning process, the team kept us up-to-date on all of our deadlines with menus, guest count, and payments. The tasting experience was phenomenal. We requested two custom passed hors d'oeuvres that the culinary team executed flawlessly. The mini empanadas were one of our favorite parts of the day! Finally, the whole staff at PPHG exceeded every expectation for the day of. They prepared my husband and me a tray of appetizers for after the ceremony to eat privately, and they made sure that our parents were well taken care of throughout the night. I wish we could relive this experience over and over again and not change a thing because PPHG ensured that our wedding was perfect!

ges, the atmosphere, and the staff were all absolutely incredible. It is almost a year later, and I STILL have guests talking about the food, service, and venue. It was such an easy decision to get married at The William Aiken House since this was the one and only venue I truly loved. I knew I wanted a Charleston wedding, and The William Aiken House is the epitome of Southern elegance. Rachel and Lauren were absolutely wonderful to work with and were so accomodating throughout the entire process. The tasting was such a fun experience as well, and we enjoyed being able to taste and test some of the wonderful food we would enjoy on our wedding day. When I say the food is incredible, I 100% mean it. Our wedding day was so incredible and the staff were all so accomodating to my guests. If I could give PPHG more than 5 stars, I would! I truly had the wedding of my dreams, and it is all thanks to my wonderful vendors and PPHG! If you want guests talking about your wedding for years to come, do not hesitate to go with PPHG and The William Aiken House!

Food - So delicious and worth every. single. penny. I would highly suggest the shrimp and grit cake with the creole butter sauce. The food was absolutely outstanding.
PPHG employees - All were so sweet, responsive and genuine. They all went out of their way to make sure our wedding was everything we wanted and more. Nadia was especially great to work with. :)

If you are contemplating The William Aiken House, you need to consider adding Peninsula Events as your wedding planning team. They truly take the a stunning venue and turn it into a spectacular experience that will truly wow your friends and family.
It is SOOO freaking hard to put into words what Abby and the peninsula events team means to me, my now husband Steve, and my family!!
Abby and her team have made every single crazy idea come to life in the most beautiful and breathtaking way. The entire process of planning the wedding was SO much fun, all thanks to them, and we are forever grateful for making the wedding planning so easy for us.
Our wedding day and night is permanently our favorite moment of our lives and the first thing we will think about is our appreciation towards Abby and peninsula events!!
48 hours before our wedding we had to change our wedding vision and thank God we had Abby on our side!! She came to us with 3 different options and it ended up being a million times better than the original plan.
You should not hire anyone except Abby!!! Don’t trust the most important day to anyone else.

couldn’t have been more perfect but the PPHG team made it so flawless! They are a well oiled machine and make it so easy to plan a wedding at any of their properties. The cake was also beautiful AND delicious which normally doesn’t happen. :) I can’t say enough amazing things about this team but they made the planning process so fun! The tasting was also so nice and delicious! Everyone was always so nice and willing to answer any question at anytime. I would recommend PPHG properties over any venues in Charleston! dating throughout our wedding planning process. The venue is gorgeous and was great for our intimate wedding of 27 guests. I was worried the venue would be too spread out for our small guest count, but with utilizing just the front lawn area (by the pergola), the upstairs piazza, and indoor rooms it was perfect! I loved the layout that we decided on. We came up with a unique idea to use the bluestone next to the pond for our dance floor, and it worked out perfectly for our small guest count! We had our dinner on the upstairs piazza overlooking King Street and it was a literal dream. Our wedding was on 12/2 and the weather was absolutely perfect - I’m so happy we were able to utilize the outdoor spaces even in the winter. The food was INCREDIBLE.. all of our guests raved about how delicious everything was! We had 3 specialty cocktails which were all amazing! The catering team, bartenders, and servers really go above and beyond with their service. I could not be happier with our decision to book the William Aiken House for our special day. Beyond exceeded my expectations!

After touring close to 50 venues across the US, Rachel Hopkins the Sales Manager we had worked with, made it an easy decision for us! We selected The William Aiken House (which wa...
s unknowingly my first ever pin on Pinterest for a wedding venue) for our ceremony/cocktail hour/dinner, American Theater for our dancing/after party and Parcel32 for our rehearsal dinner/welcome gathering. Rachel was easily the best we worked with throughout our venue search and is a genuinely kind hearted individual! We also worked with Becky Kearns, who was also an absolute joy work with! The two of them were very accommodating and easy to work with as they shaped the various options for the venues, catering, and other items. Throughout the planning process the two of them and PPHG were very professional and thoughtful with each step. We felt comfortable with them along the way and they made it easy to trust them in all ways. Abigail Roderick, Director of Events, was also fantastic in every way and we really enjoyed her flexibility in all areas of planning, and the tasting with her! We also worked with the amazing Rachel Starling for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Parcel32 which would highly recommend (please see our review)! The day of staff assigned to our events surpassed all expectations and we received much praise from our guest on how wonderful the service was. The catering and drinks were also a significant highlight from the affair. The feedback from guests on how it was “the best wedding food they have had” was so wonderful. We drool thinking back on each food item and drink, and are so happy PPHG upholds such a great standard for the catering. We also were so pleased in choosing to work with Jessica the Pastry Chef for our Cake. It was so elegant and received endless compliments, and tasted delicious too! And it goes without saying, the beautiful unique venues (and photos from them) were breathtaking!
To end, you would be making the best decision to work with PPHG. We are so happy and forever grateful for everything they did for us :) PPHG was wonderful to work with in every aspect! We would highly recommend anyone planning an event or wedding to work with them! They have the best venues in the United States, exquisite catering and genuinely thoughtful top notch staff.

I have worked with the William Aiken House for three consecutive years to host an annual commercial event for our organization. The team that helps to organize and plan as well as ...
staff that then execute the event set the bar for my expectations for all other vendors we use for other events in different parts of the state. They pay attention to every little detail. They make remarkable suggestions for set-up. They provide creative ideas, and have exceptional customer service. Then the catering-you can't find better. They simply are the best. The house itself is well-maintained, and is stunning. You can't help but elevate the style of your event with this historic building as your backdrop. Just go ahead and book them...seriously.

hey are so patient and will do anything to make your experience the best. Also, the ability to rent the carriage suites overnight really sets them apart. We rented both of the suites, a few of our items (gifts, signs, guestbook, etc) went in there overnight, and then we got all of it the next morning. No hectic rush to get out at the end of the wedding night.

y responsive and their menu was extensive. If there is anything they don't offer, you can ask and they do their best to accommodate! I loved how historic and ornate the house was and how many different areas there are for photos/events/etc. You really don't need to do a lot of decor, because the home and grounds are so gorgeous already! For the caterers- they serve a whole table at the same time, and its really cool to watch and adds an extra sense of elegance to dinner. One of my favorite parts was the fact that if you get married here, you can opt to stay in the carriage house onsite. This was so nice because the guys were able to get ready there earlier in the day, and then it was so nice being so close and stay at the mansion longer. This venue stands above and beyond all others we looked at in Charleston!!
