The inspiration behind The Wood Vibrations was to form an ensemble that redefined the “cover band” experience. Rather than just duplicating the songs we love, we wanted to create a signature sound that was uniquely ours. Combining acoustic instruments with our voices and creative choices, we’ve forged a dynamic blend of intimacy and drama. The result is a sound, style, and energy that is distinct and makes a unique statement at our events and performances. With a repertoire of songs that ranges from atmospheric to floor stomping dance anthems from the last 80 years, there is music for everyone to enjoy. Our instrumentation allows for increased volume control and we offer different band configurations to fit into any situation. Exceeding expectations is what we strive to do. The Wood Vibrations cover a wide range of songs and genres including rock, pop, country, oldies, dance, disco, Top 40, folk, jazz, and classical. The core band consists of acoustic guitar, violin, bass, drums. All musicians are singers which makes for a variety of voices. Our most popular package includes an additional female vocalist for even greater variety and energy. Every booking includes personalized planning sessions, MC services, insurance, song requests, full sound systems for all parts of your event, music during breaks, wireless mic for officiant/speeches, and band lighting. We also offer ceremony music (guitar and violin), cocktail hour music and DJ devices. Our lineup can be expanded to fit your needs with extra singers and musicians upon request.

Peter and the Wood Vibrations were EPIC! From the moment we originally reached out for a quote, to the ongoing communication, and, finally, of course, the performance…they absolutely exceeded expectations beyond measure in every aspect. Peter and Samantha performed during the ceremony which provided for such a beautiful touch. When the band was playing during the reception, the dance floor was packed and live. They created an energy that we could never have expected for our wedding, not to mention the variety of music they can play, catering to ALL ages in the room (this was important to us). Recommend the five-person band, as well, as this allows the band to play a much greater variety of songs with the addition of Tara.
The band also takes care of all of the small, yet important, details – setting you up with a microphone for the officiant(s) at the ceremony, setting one up for the speeches during the reception which Samantha assists each speaker with.
We continue to receive raving reviews from our guests about the band, too.
Highly recommend, will exceed expectations, and will leave you wondering why you ever even considered another band.

Peter and the band were incredible! The minute the music started the dance floor was crowded and it stayed that way throughout the night. Our wedding was outdoors and even though an unexpected rain shower showed up the last 20 minutes of the reception, they didn’t stop playing and we didn’t stop dancing in the rain!
I truly can’t wait to have another event where they can play at!
There is nothing like live music. Peter Kelly of Wood Vibrations came through with every promise, vibe, sound, and spirit we hoped for for our wedding. My guests were coming up throughout the evening asking, where did we find "these guys"? There was such joy in the room because of their sound. Having superb musicians including the most amazing violinist, Samantha, made my reception so unique and so much fun! Guests were videotaping her as she blew us all away with her talents. Their vocals were right on- per specific requests which they nailed perfectly.
Early on in planning my wedding, after a great conversation with Peter, he asked us to complete a form that was very helpful in organizing our wants for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We had a micro wedding of 50 people. I wanted a fun dancing party spirit. He took all the wedding jitters away of fear of no one dancing. People were dancing all night long with a nice balance of dining music as well, so my guests could talk and enjoy.
Every bride wants a beautiful sunny wedding day, especially for a garden ceremony. Well, it poured right at the time of the ceremony. Peter and the group pivoted so brilliantly dodging sheets of rain moving to a covered location on site without a hitch helping the ceremony move forward and be the best it could be. Our reception was always planned to be indoors, thank goodness, as the doors opened to the reception the music started and the party began! My guests were constantly saying what a fun and beautiful wedding it was...the clouds parted and the music continued making it the most memorable, joyous, and unbelievable day ever.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful The Wood Vibrations were to work with and how amazing they were at our wedding! They were extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable to work with. They arrived promptly at the venue, And their performance was outstanding! It is now a week later, and friends of mine are still reaching out to ask their name, where they are from and how I found them. The Wood Vibrations are THE cover band to have for your northeast wedding! Their professionalism, performance presence and energy made their contribution to our special day indispensable. From ceremony music to our first dance, reading the room, keeping the dance floor packed and the party going right to the end, we could not have been happier with the band. We highly recommend Peter (guitar) & Samantha (violin) as a ceremony duo and the Core 5 piece band with dedicated female vocalist (Tara) for reception and dancing. Their depth and breadth of repertoire will please all ages, even those who may normally be reluctant to dance. We danced for hours to classics and favorites form the 60’s to present. Our guests have all raved about their performance and the photographers said they have not seen this many people on a dance floor, for this long, this year! Highly recommend The Wood Vibrations. If you are looking for a band that will rev up the dancing, blow away guests, be truly professional, and accommodating to your song requests and wedding style, do yourself a favor and hire these guys!!!
When I was first looking for a band, my concern was to have a band that would be appropriate for my wedding with all ages of guests, but without sacrificing my choices in wedding songs. A friend told me when I look at bands make sure to see all the reviews for bands, the good and the bad-and I did not find a single bad review of these guys! That amazed me. Then, I reviewed videos, where I saw Peter's style of guitar, the phenomenal violin playing, the duet of male and female voices, and I could not believe their talent! Even though they play mostly acoustic, they have what it takes to get people moving, and were the special gem to make my wedding an unbelievable party. They offer flair and unique points to the songs you know and love, and get everyone dancing to slow and fast songs alike.
I could go on more about how all of the guests remain enthralled with the band and ask how I found them! So, to the entire band, thank you for making my special day so much fun. :)

Best decision we made having The Wood Vibrations, they are a fantastic band as well and great people and Peter was an awesome communicator. We were blown away by the Wood Vibrations! We liked their videos on their website enough to book them, especially since their pricing is better than other bands...but in person -- WOW! Our expectations were exceeded by far. They kept the party going all night with amazing energy and talent. They can play a good range of classics as well as modern dance beats. we had so much fun working with them and loved their unique blend of instruments including violin :) They played a beautiful rendition of Better Together by Jack Johnson for our first dance and sent us a recording the day before so we could practice. They also played beautiful music for our ceremony entrance and exit. We can't wait to go check them out again at Prohibition in NYC. Highly recommend :)

We were thrilled with The Wood Vibrations! They made our wedding reception so fun and lively, and we got so many compliments from our guests about how much they enjoyed them. Peter was easy to work with and happy to accommodate our requests. We asked for a couple of songs that were special to us, and Samantha did an amazing job on vocals. The band has a great repertoire, none of the usual cliche songs that feel stale. We'd hire them again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I booked the Wood Vibrations for our wedding reception after finding them on the Knots website. Our wedding reception was held at an event space designed for a cocktail hour vibe with high tops, a bar and food stations. Our quest list was under 100 adults so we requested the Duo with Peter. They were fantastic! We received so many comments after the party how great the band was. We had a wide range of ages from small children to 80 year old grandparents. There was music for everyone to enjoy. We couldn’t believe the repertoire of music in their portfolio. From the classics to more recent pop, there was music for every age to enjoy. Some cover bands can seem very karaoke, but the Wood Vibrations were far from that, putting some of their own take on songs. The team was super professional and did not require any support with their set up/break down, and they brought all their own equipment. We were impressed and grateful they were able to perform on our special day.
I can’t recommend this band enough!! Communication/planning was wonderful leading up to our wedding. They play such an amazing range of music and truly made the day special for us.

IWe immediately watched their videos, and loved them. What we loved more, was their background in music. Because that to us was important. They truly are musicians. Peter put together noted to play “Nothing Else matters “ for our ceremony, and it was a hit. Not only was that a hit, but every one of our guests came up to us and said, “That band was legit”, and they were!! We hope to see you guys again at another venue, or maybe we’ll have to host another party to have them play. Awesome time, true professionals, you will not be disappointed .
If there were 10 stars we would give them! It started with the beautiful duo of Violin and guitar playing somewhere over the rainbow, the bridal party walking down the theme from Beauty and the Beast and the most gorgeous Bride walking down 3 staircases to I can’t help falling in love. We danced the entire night and everyone said that the band was incredible! I agree! I’ve always felt that the most important components of any memorable wedding is the people and the music! We’re so glad we found The Wood Vibrations! Hire them and have peace of mind that you will have the most fun and tasteful Wedding!

Peter and the band were absolutely fantastic. They were "can-do" and laid back throughout the entire process, very open to our requests and honest about expectations for the evening. We had instrumental guitar and violin at the ceremony and full 5 piece band for the reception. Our wedding was at a brewery so it was a nontraditional space but Peter handled it all with ease. We received comments all night long about how awesome the band was, and they kept the dance floor packed which was exactly what we were hoping for. They never overstepped with awkward "MC" commentary and were the perfect balance of fun and professional. I would highly recommend The Wood Vibrations for any and all weddings and events.
Book the Wood Vibrations and you will not be disappointed! The Wood Vibrations duo played at our small beach ceremony and reception and they were dynamite! We can’t say enough great things about them. They were so personable as if they were part of the family, and excited for our big day, talking and laughing with us. Their vocal and instrumental sound was incredible. They play all music genres and even learned a new song for us, which we really appreciated. Having live music for your first dance makes it even more romantic and memorable. Our guests really enjoyed them too and were dancing the entire night. I hope we can find another reason to celebrate so we can invite them back.

The Wood Vibrations played an absolutely excellent performance for our wedding. We received so many compliments of our band selection from our guests. Our guests loved how they played at our ceremony and our reception. Peter and his band, The Wood Vibrations, learned our song choices for the ceremony and they sounded great! Our guests all loved the songs that they played for our reception and everyone was up dancing. Peter was our Emcee for introductions and everything else at the reception and did a fabulous job. He used cues from our Day Of coordinator to follow our timeline for the day and he even accommodated us in rainy weather at the venue. Peter and Samantha provided string music for both our ceremony and our cocktail hour, and did an INCREDIBLE job! The music was paced so well, and our guests kept commenting on how angelic the guitar/violin combination sounded.
Prior to our wedding, Peter reached out to us to inquire about ceremony music and artist/song preferences for the cocktail hour. He played every single song we listed, and even came up with a playlist that completely mirrored the vibe of the artists/songs we had listed. So grateful to Peter and Samantha for making everything so easy, and for providing such a lovely atmosphere! We highly recommend them to anyone looking for instrumental artists.

All the stars, seriously. This group exceeded every expectation -- they are professional, exceedingly kind, and so very talented. If I had a dollar for every time one of our guests came up to me during the course of the night to say how great the band was, I probably could have paid double. From the beginning, it was really great working with the band. Peter was very responsive and the music package included everything that we needed. Peter was very accommodating with my requests, even when I changed our first dance song last minute and asked for lyric changes! We were able to add on the violist last minute as well and were so happy that we did!
On the day of the wedding, the band took care of our ceremony and cocktail hour music. And everyone loved their performances during our reception. So many guests came up to me and told me that they danced to every song!

We consider ourselves to be extremely fortunate to have had the Wood Vibrations play for our wedding last week. If you are looking for a band that can play a wide variety of music, and truly do it well, look no further. Not only were they easy to communicate with, but they are also extremely talented musicians. We ended up adding their service to our ceremony and could not be happier that we did. Peter played beautiful acoustic guitar music that really made the ceremony amazing. The band also learned a special song for our first dance and played it flawlessly. With their high level of skill and three part harmonies they kept the dance floor moving throughout the entire event. Our guests are still telling us how incredible the band was a week later. Despite the Wood Vibrations hectic event schedule, they responded to my inquiry right away, and continued to be prompt in responding to any and all of my questions up until the wedding. Peter is extremely talented and was able to arrange music that I requested for the processional in no time at all. Every member of the Wood Vibrations seemed genuinely happy to take part in the wedding, and they kept the energy up throughout the entire event. Sean, the drummer, graciously and seamlessly took on the responsibility of setting up the audio and projector for our photo slideshow. Peter and the Woods Vibrations were the best band we could of hoped for. They were incredibly flexible as we delayed our wedding multiple times during the pandemic. We gave them way less time than we should of, but they still learned multiple songs for first dances, and tailored their set based on our requests.
The band was amazing at reading the crowd, and knew exactly what songs to play to keep the dance floor rocking all night. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough!

Booking The Wood Vibrations was the best decision we could have made. The band is incredibly talented and has a wide song catalog, and they were able to add our own (slightly unusual) '80s requests. They were also very communicative in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, and were helpful talking through different selections. Highly, highly recommend.

Peter Kelly and his band are too professionals. A perfect blend of harmonies, like a record! From Blink 192, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthew to the Beatles and Beyond, something for everyone. He provided wireless mics for the ceremony and speeches and came fully equipped with PA and lights!
Without the Wood Vibrations rocking out during the celebration, my wedding would not have been half as much fun as it was! They have a great repertoire which got people in their twenties to seventies dancing. Peter and his band are very professional and were extremely flexible for fitting the theme of my special day. They even helped set up PA for the ceremony and speeches. I can’t recommend them enough, and it meant the world to me that Sean let me fiddle on his drum kit for a bit!
The Wood Vibrations were an amazing addition to our wedding. They were punctual and professional and performed for our ceremony and reception.
Everyone loved the band as we had multiple guests come up and tell us that. It was also evident by the large number of people constantly dancing and singing along throughout the wedding. They also performed our request for a wedding song that wasn't in their normal repertoire and did an amazing job.
Overall, we can highly recommend The Wood Vibrations for any wedding or event.

We hired this band for our wedding and they were incredible.
Many aspects of the wedding, including this band, were arranged without seeing them in person due to the pandemic. We spent months listening to their demo and we were so excited to have them. After seeing the wedding venue for the first time we were a little nervous about the layout of the room because the dance floor was small. Both of us agreed that we had to make it work because we were not replacing them for a DJ. It was the right decision and it worked out better than I thought. No one could stay off the dance floor with music like that. We chose a country song for our first dance and the band learned it in a couple of weeks. It was so special and I couldn't believe how good they made the song sound. Our guests raved about the music and it really was such an essential component of the reception. Peter was also so lovely to work with in the weeks leading up to the wedding. He's very easy going and flexible which put me at ease. I can't wait to see them again at their next live event.

Straight up..Awesome! We had them for our outdoor wedding last weekend and what a difference a great Rock ‘n Roll band makes. We wanted everyone to share in the celebration with us and enjoy themselves as well and they were all up and dancing and having a great time. It felt great to get so many compliments about their playing. Peter and his team worked with us to create the right atmosphere and songs for our occasion. By the way, the Wood Vibration hauled their themselves 2 states to get to our affair.
They publish a playlist which includes music for all the decades and genres and will help you pick and choose songs for your guests, including your favorites and those suitable for all ages. They developed a personal rendition of our favorite song and we ended up using it for our processional and as well, will accommodate any specialty songs you wish to have. They will dress up or dress casual, to your liking. I was pleased how Peter and Sean went through the wedding timeline with us from beginning to end beforehand and gave us the confidence needed that they- Got This! My bride and I always look for them when they are playing near to our area and enjoy dropping in to see them. A sign of a great band is how well they mesh…and they do! They are professional and dedicated to their craft and just nice guys. We would definitely hire them again. In fact, we did!

We cannot recommend The Wood Vibrations highly enough. Peter was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. Even with all the uncertainties around COVID and not even being able to see them play prior to booking, Peter gave us the confidence and support we needed. He also gave us the opportunity to request customized arrangements for certain aspects of the wedding, such as walking up and down the aisle and first dances. And when it came to the reception, these guys absolutely nailed it. We added on an additional female vocalist, Terri, and together they played such a great range of music that got everyone up and moving. Their renditions of classic wedding songs paired with fresh takes on modern hits was perfect for the occasion and age ranges of our guests--there was really something for everyone.

Peter and The Wood Vibrations were kind, professional, and so easy to work with. They gave our wedding the perfect mix of songs for all ages/music styles and even learned a new song that was meaningful to my husband and I. No stress, all fun. Cannot recommend these guys enough!

Our guests loved how the trio (guitar, bass, drums) brought an acoustic sound to top hit songs which coordinated well with our beachy/outdoors feel of the day. While dancing was “not encouraged”, their rhythm had people moving about (we picked more relaxed songs but it’s obvious their sound would get a party going). Their playlist has a wide range of artists from Billy Joel, to Rihanna, to Zac Brown Band. We can’t say enough about how much we love The Wood Vibrations!!! We fell in love with their sound after seeing them perform live, and knew they were exactly what we were looking for. They truly made our wedding everything we had hoped for by creating an incredible vibe for the evening. They had the dance floor packed and guests raving all night long!! They cover everything from The Lumineers to Whitney Houston, a range of music that wowed guests of all ages. That being said, Peter was absolutely phenomenal to work with every step of the way, which was just as important to me as the band’s performance. His attention to every single detail, great ideas and helpful guidance made planning so much fun - I truly looked forward to our phone calls and appreciated so much how prepared he helped me feel for our big day. And to top it all off, not only did the band learn multiple new songs for our wedding upon our request - they also crafted a one-of-a-kind, instrumental version of our favorite song for our first dance. As a bride who was looking to add unique and romantic touches to our wedding day, this was so incredibly special. We can’t thank The Wood Vibrations enough for everything they’ve done for us, and for a night that we and all of our guests will remember forever!!!

We hired the Wood Vibrations this past August to play our wedding and it was easily the best decision we made; the highlight of our night. I was always a fan of live music and these guys with all their talent prove why. Our guests were dancing/singing all night long and could not stop raving about how good their setlist was. Their energy filled the room and we had a blast. I'd get married all over again just to hire them one more time!

My husband and I saw The Wood Vibrations play in Princeton last year and were blown away by how much music and energy came from just three people. We got their card and booked them for our wedding and it couldn’t have gone better. We were so happy and everyone had a great time. The crowd went nuts when they played a Whitney Houston song. It was the highlight of our night.

Peter Kelly is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and the guitarist/vocalist for The Wood Vibrations. His vision for the band was to create a totally unique experience by surprising audiences with unexpected song choices and the amount of sound and energy coming from a small acoustic band. He spends lots of time “over preparing” for each event with clients. He’s also a singer/songwriter (http://www.peterkellymusic.com) with music on iTunes and Spotify. He has performed with/for Leonardo DiCaprio, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stevie Wonder, Angelina Jolie, Shannon, Mark Rivera, and many more.
