The Woods is an amazing place to hold any event. We had our wedding reception there and we couldn’t have asked for a better night! Koert and Sarah are great to work with. They made sure we had everything we needed and how we wanted it. Between the beautiful space they’ve created and their top notch crew it was a 10 out of 10!
Highly recommend this venue!!! Not only is it gorgeous- the owners Sarah and Koert are wonderful and will make sure all your needs are met. I had a June wedding at The Woods and it was absolutely stunning. Everything was green and blooming and truly captured the woodsy feel. We also snuck around back during our cocktail hour to take “golden hour” photos and the scenery was perfect. All of the workers were super friendly and truly seemed happy to be there serving our reception! The inside of the venue is just as beautiful as the outside- there was plenty of room for my 200 person reception. They have a Grooms room and Bridal suite that are very nice as well. We did not use them to get ready but it was still so nice to have a private area that me and my bridesmaids could touch up and use the restroom. We decided to rent out the Bar & Grill side of the venue as well and I am so glad we did! It was perfect for cocktail hour and we ended up moving to that side after our reception ended to keep the party going. I had asked Koert and Sarah about doing “Signature Drinks” and not only did they accommodate my request- they helped us make custom drinks that were the star of the show! Sarah also helped me figure out how much beer/wine/liquor to order which I appreciated. Side note- I planned my IL wedding and reception from Colorado. Their communication with me was always timely and professional. You will not regret booking at The Woods!

Located next to the picturesque Crawford County Forest Preserve and just south of the Oak Glen Golf Course, this delightfully rustic venue is a warm, welcoming place where you can slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy every magical moment to the fullest.
This venue is the perfect setting for a relaxing and unforgettable wedding ceremony and/or reception. The Woods features eight verdant acres and a remarkable, climate-controlled event space that can accommodate 150 people on the main floor and an additional 150 guests in the three-sided loft. A wall of windows admits an abundance of soft, natural light and also affords breathtaking views of the lush Forest Preserve. The building also includes 2 cozy en-suites for both sides of your wedding party, a large stage for your ceremony, a catering prep area with a separate service entry, parking attendant with a golf cart shuttle, and ADA-compliant restrooms on the main floor.

Our wedding day was not as perfect as it could have been due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we then began the journey of creating The Woods Event Center.
