The Woods Event Center is a premier wedding venue in Robinson, IL. Located next to the picturesque Crawford County Forest Preserve and just south of the Oak Glen Golf Course, this delightfully rustic venue is a warm, welcoming place where you can slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy every magical moment to the fullest.
This venue is the perfect setting for a relaxing and unforgettable wedding ceremony and/or reception. The Woods features eight verdant acres and a remarkable, climate-controlled event space that can accommodate 150 people on the main floor and an additional 150 guests in the three-sided loft. A wall of windows admits an abundance of soft, natural light and also affords breathtaking views of the lush Forest Preserve. The building also includes 2 cozy en-suites for both sides of your wedding party, a large stage for your ceremony, a catering prep area with a separate service entry, parking attendant with a golf cart shuttle, and ADA-compliant restrooms on the main floor.

Highly recommend this venue!!! Not only is it gorgeous- the owners Sarah and Koert are wonderful and will make sure all your needs are met. I had a June wedding at The Woods and it was absolutely stunning. Everything was green and blooming and truly captured the woodsy feel. We also snuck around back during our cocktail hour to take “golden hour” photos and the scenery was perfect. All of the workers were super friendly and truly seemed happy to be there serving our reception! The inside of the venue is just as beautiful as the outside- there was plenty of room for my 200 person reception. They have a Grooms room and Bridal suite that are very nice as well. We did not use them to get ready but it was still so nice to have a private area that me and my bridesmaids could touch up and use the restroom. We decided to rent out the Bar & Grill side of the venue as well and I am so glad we did! It was perfect for cocktail hour and we ended up moving to that side after our reception ended to keep the party going. I had asked Koert and Sarah about doing “Signature Drinks” and not only did they accommodate my request- they helped us make custom drinks that were the star of the show! Sarah also helped me figure out how much beer/wine/liquor to order which I appreciated. Side note- I planned my IL wedding and reception from Colorado. Their communication with me was always timely and professional. You will not regret booking at The Woods!
Koert and Sarah did so much more than we expected when we picked The Woods as our venue. They were always professional, willing to assist, answered all questions and even gave recommendations throughout the whole process. They stayed in touch during our journey, and we would 100% pick the venue, and Sarah and Koert, if we had to do it over again. The venue was amazing, and our special day ran seamlessly with their help and insight. Our guests still talk about how gorgeous the venue was that day! You can tell they put so much thought into designing the venue, but there are still endless possibilities on how a bride and groom can vision their special day. We would recommend The Woods to anybody!
Everything about our special day went perfect! The Woods has it ALL. I mean from big things; phenomenal staff, cleanliness, extremely well organized, to the smaller details ; luxurious facilities, breath taking bridal/groom suites, even a chalk sign welcoming/congratulating us on our big day. Their team worked great together & helped our day go by very smoothly while always willing to help. All we heard from our guests was how amazing it all truly was!! Wedding of the century even!! We cannot wait to return back to The Woods for future events & celebrations. It is definitely well-worth the investment for those thinking of reserving!

Me and my husband met Koert & Sarah when they were still in the process of building The Woods! From the very beginning they were so helpful and very knowledgeable with all things weddings. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and the staff is phenomenal! We took advantage the golf cart they offer to drive over to the nature preserve and have golden hour photos done with our photographer. Very pleased overall with our experience and we recommend the venue to everyone!
I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue. It’s absolutely beautiful and the staff is so friendly and amazing. I recommend The Woods to everyone and will be using them in the future for more events!

The Woods could not have been more perfect for our special day. The owners worked with us directly to find how they could best support us. The set up tables, chairs, and even allowed us to use furniture they had on site! Not to mention the fact that they were on-site day of to assist with anything they could. Their staff was incredibly kind and helpful. One man on staff (I’m sorry I didn’t get his name!) even drove us around on a golf cart while we took pictures outside and helped our catering crew clear trash. Their catering kitchen is HUGE (much bigger, more accessible, and way better laid out than most venue kitchen spaces), so your vendors will love it. Lots of great places to take photos inside as well, both on the event side and the bar side if you choose to rent that out as well (I highly recommend it - it’s a great space to hold a cocktail hour). Koert and Sarah really thought of every detail and have the drive and motivation to make sure that everything is executed to perfection. The space is gorgeous on its own, but is also extremely adaptable for whatever season/decor style you choose. We were married a week before Christmas, and the space felt extremely cozy. Thank you, The Woods Event Center, for hosting us with such a great space. I recommend you to everyone I know!

So thankful to have been able to have our wedding at this beautiful venue! They were very easy to work with. Aside from the beautiful venue and scenery itself the workers were my favorite part. They all treat you like family on your big day and anytime you see them after. During the big day Sarah was excellent at working with us on the rehearsal and on the wedding day for telling us all when to walk out and having good communication. My most thankful thing though was that I was standing outside the door ready to walk in and I realized I forgot my bouquet, so Koert very quickly ran back in to get my bouquet because I would not of been able to go grab it with the dress in a quick manor. If I had to do it over again I’d pick this venue over and over and will continue to use the venue for future celebrations.
