Theory Photographie

elated worries for my big day. She listened to any concerns I had about photos and her results speak for themselves. With all the worries that come with planning a wedding, I am so glad I didnt have to worry about disliking my photos!

dding. Jacq was kind, attentive, and made two camera shy folks comfortable to be shot. How awesome is that? Jacq and my lead photographer made the ideal dream team as two WOC photographers and I will say that we were fortunate to be taken great care of on our wedding day. Photos are forever! I highly recommend Jacq and I look forward to working with her in any capacity in the future.

ment shoot that felt more like a fun day of prancing around Manhattan with a friend. Well, I’m back to rave about LoveInTheory but this time for a very different stage in our lives- our son’s newborn photoshoot. A family member knew how special Jacquie’s photography was for us during our wedding and so thoughtfully gifted us a photoshoot with LoveInTheory to capture our baby’s first photoshoot. Because we know Jacq’s unique vision and style, we were ecstatic that we would have such a cool, editorial, and edgy-yet-warm take on a baby photoshoot. Jacq knew how to capture the “adorable” without the “cheese”. Somehow our sleepless, zombie selves looked like we had it all together in the chicest way in the comfort of our own home. She even took special notice of our dogs and brought presents for them so they’d feel just as important as our newest family member. It’s all about the thoughtful details that make working with this team extra special. Months later, I look back at those photos and cherish the realness she captured of us just figuring out this whole parenting thing. Once again, a round of applause and thanks to LoveInTheory for being there for us during such a special part of our lives. Jacq- the Queen of photography - our family adores you.

n't want by explaining what that might mean for the photos. We did a small dinner and we didn't want posed photos with family and the wedding party, but she explained that it's a good opportunity to ensure that you have photos with literally everyone, because it can be easy to lose track during the evening. She did them quickly and encouraged some natural poses, and I really am thankful that she encouraged it. Same goes for the "first look" shot. I always thought it was a little cheesey, but I didn't realize how bottled up my emotions were that day, and it was good moment to reflect on that before the ceremony was underway. So overall, her guidance was really judicious and helpful.

at she was willing and able to travel from NYC to SF for our wedding. She was great at answering any questions we had, understanding our vision and goals for the big day, and kept an open line of communication throughout our entire planning process. She also was great for just wedding advice in general, too, and she was helpful for me on so many occasions. She made the day of very easy for the both of us, as did Q, and we felt like they really listened to us. Our photos speak for themselves, and we absolutely love them, as do all of our friends and family! 6 months later and we are still getting so many compliments on how they turned out :)

and makes it really easy to work with her in a time that can be VERY stressful. We had our engagement shoot early December and my oh my how the photos DELIVERED. They outdo any others that I've seen. We could not be more excited for our wedding and our wedding photos from Love in Theory. Thank you, Jacq!

to look our best. We also got back the photos and were completely in love. Work with her !!!!!!!

etting married again just to work with her! The photos she captures are stunning, unique, and they are FULL of emotion. When I look back at them now, I can quite literally feel everything I felt on our wedding day. Her ability to make you feel comfortable, and the dedication and time she takes to get to know you as individuals and as a couple show in her work. I don't like posing and never feel like myself in those photos, and she was able to make us look unbelievable - all while we were just laughing, walking around, and soaking in the fact we were about to walk down the aisle and say "I Do." HIRE HER - SERIOUSLY!! We had a lot of people that needed to be photographed with us, and she was able to do it all while making everyone feel calm, taken care, of important - it was like a superpower, seriously. Her professionalism, skill, and passion are reflected in every single shot, and she goes above and beyond to make sure she will deliver everything you want and more. Our relationship turned into friendship, and I am forever grateful to her for capturing our wedding so perfectly - its like a movie made only from pictures. You won't want anyone else to photograph your wedding, hire her!!!

Friends of ours had the most amazing wedding pictures and realizing me & my fiancé both loved them, we reached out to our friends. Once we spoke to our friends, I was so pleased to hear a rave review about Jacq! Jacq’s style of photography is warm, yet editorial. She’s such an incredible artist and we knew we just had to have her photograph us on our big day! We were already sold by her artistry before we even picked up the phone BUT THEN I spoke to Jacq and was just blown away by her attention to detail, and care! She actually wanted to know about me, and wanted to know our story so that she could properly portray us in pictures. I knew that we were in great hands from our very first phone call. This feeling of ease, is not an easy one to come by when you’re planning a wedding in New York from Florida. Fast forward to right before our wedding and Jacq’s attention to detail, artistry and insights were invaluable. She made incredible suggestions, guided us in the process and helped us navigate the pre wedding crazies! When the big day arrived, Jacq and her associate were the most CALMING presence on our big day. Jacq took care of everything. She came into my hotel suite and stylized the photos in such a beautiful way while I was finished getting ready. The photo shoot that followed was effortless and so much fun!!! It needs to be said that I do not photograph well. I don’t know what it is, but if I know I’m being photographed this is what usually happens: 1. I close my eyes 99.9% of the time 2. I make wonky leg poses 3. The faces I make will remind you of Sloth from The Goonies. But Jacq is a NINJA and somehow made me look like I knew how to pose! Seriously, she made me look like I know how to get my picture taken, and I don’t! My only regret is that I didn’t have Jacq be our wedding coordinator. She eliminated all of our worries. And was amazing at keeping us on schedule. There are certain people you come across in life who put you at ease from the moment you meet them. Jacq is one of those people, and exactly the kind of person you need by your side, on what can be a very stressful day, if you don’t have the right team around you. We were so fortunate to have Love In Theory as part of our wedding a-team that really made the day stress free. Jacq’s grace, humility, talent and work ethic are a rare combination. She is truly an incredible professional and a spectacular human being. My husband and I couldn’t recommend her more. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts by making our wedding day a dream come true, with unforgettable photos we will cherish for a lifetime. WE LOVE YOU, JACQ!

engagement session and our wedding! Jacquie was able to capture really beautiful and special moments for us to cherish the rest of our lives! ❤️ Jacquie is very personal, friendly, honest and attentive. From our first meeting, she really discusses her clients vision, the special day, the location, etc. She takes the time to get to know you and understand your needs. She’s not pushy and she will let you know her professional opinion. The photo sessions were also just so easy, Jacquie is so outgoing, she made things a breeze even though my husband and I are pretty awkward sometimes. 🤣 Honestly, she’s just great! We really enjoyed working with her and know she will continue to make other couples really happy with her gorgeous photos.

et to know us, was super flexible about rescheduling our engagement shoot when it rained, made us feel comfortable in front of the camera even though we’re not used to being professionally photographed, and delivered the most beautiful, vibrant, and artistic photos that we’ve ever taken as a couple, and that really captured the essence of who we are. I have to mention the super thoughtful and adorable gift box that our USB arrived in as well—those small touches make all the difference! Working with Jacq has been the most fun part of the wedding planning process so far. We can’t wait to see how our wedding day photos turn out!!

ures the love between my fiance and I. We first interviewed Jacq over skype and immediately felt comfortable with her. All the references we contacted raved about working with her and we decided to book her for both our engagement shoot and wedding. We're glad we did! Our engagement shoot took place in late November in NY. Since we don't currently reside in NYC, Jacq helped to identify locations that matched us and our vibe. Jacq is extremely responsive to email, which we great appreciate. Our e-shoot took place mostly in the LES. We visited a few locations and generally adventured around the area looking for cool murals and holiday decorations. We felt very comfortable during the shoot and Jacq only gave small suggestion on how to interact. Nothing ever felt contrived or forced. We received the photos perfectly on time. We highly recommend working with Jacq and Love in Theory!

onal, and flexible with our ideas to make sure we were able to shoot in the locations we wanted. She helped guide us and made us feel relaxed throughout the whole process, and of course, our photos turned out amazing! Her attention to detail really showed!

ded not to do a guest book since it was one more thing to get and I didn't have time, Jacq took it upon herself to go out and buy materials to create a gorgeous guest book for us to use. We are now so grateful to have the book!!! Jacq was always very responsive and followed up with our pictures quickly after the wedding. We are very happy! Thanks again Jacq!

t shoot in November, and the experience was everything we could have hoped for. In addition to the actual photo shoot and deliverables, the little touches that Jacq adds to the relationship are so adorable and appreciated -- delivering our flash drive in the cutest box ever, sharing gifts for our basset hound... love her. Looking forward to our wedding day!

verything was perfect. I could immediately tell that she cares very much about her clients and her work. We had to schedule the session last minute, and Jacq made her very best to make herself available. She even agreed to drive 2 hours out of the city with us because we wanted a specific location. The photos are absolutely beautiful. We wanted to avoid the typical photos with everything bright and white with awkward poses. Jacq's photos were exactly what we wanted - tons of character, variety of angles, and natural/honest moments of us. Jacq helped us feel comfortable and captured the perfect moments. People who have seen the photos said they could see how completely in love and happy we are through the photos. Jacq will also be the photographer at our wedding in a few months and we cannot wait!!

lassic poses work for some, we wanted an authentic session that showed US as a couple. WOW did she deliver!!! From before our shoot even started I felt a connection to Jacquie and a really comfortable around her. We went over our time without even realizing because it just felt like my fiance and I were on a date having an amazing time - all of which shows in our pictures. Jacquie made us laugh authentically, and for two people that don't like our photos taken...it truly felt like she was just talking to us. I don't even remember her snapping over half the photos she did. Jacquie was not only extremely professional, insanely talented, but her ability to make you feel comfortable, and actually promote you to be your authentic silly self was something I've never experienced before. As soon as we had our wedding date set, we booked her for the wedding as well! You can tell from first contact that she truly cares about you and what you want. We're still in contact now about many life things, and I know we will continue to be so long after our wedding is done. On top of that, Jacquie goes above and beyond in all aspects of the photography. It is her business, and she shows you that you're not just another number, but a really special part of her year and life. The follow-up after our engagement, and even the adorable way she sends you your photos all made me feel like the most beautiful bride-to-be all over again. If I could hire her to do 10 engagement shoots I would - simply put: Jacquie is the best. HIRE HER - SERIOUSLY!!

cool, stylish recommnedations. She is very professional, efficient and created a super cool memory for us!

. Working with us before the shoot, she matched our enthusiasm for a certain style and location, but we were really happy to have her own creativity and expertise suffused throughout the session. And the results speak for themselves. We're quite happy, and hope we can work with Jacq again in the future.

have asked for a better experience. She captured the event covering all important elements. Highly recommend. We would go back to her for future shoots.

y confident we were going to get a great service. We were absolutely right! The communication has been brilliant throughout. Jacquie is super friendly and proactive and she really took the time and effort to get to know us which has made the whole experience feel really personal. Gui took our engagement and wedding photographs and we couldn’t have asked for a more friendly, enthusiastic and talented photographer. He made us feel really relaxed and had some great ideas for locations and poses. The pictures Gui took have captured some truly beautiful moments. We are so grateful and overwhelmed by just how incredible they are. The after service has also been amazing. Jacquie has kept in touch and kept us updated all the way through. Our usb has been delivered and we are over the moon. The pretty little presentation box, cards and gifts are just so gorgeous and thoughtful! The whole experience has been more than we ever could have imagined or hoped for. Thank you so so much!!!

totally played it like a boss and got amazing photos of us! She captured all the moments I missed. Def got the mood and style of both our personalities ! Best of all she calmed me down when things weren’t going exactly how I planned. I would say best wedding photographer ever!

event and her photographs are beautiful! Highly recommend!

quick test shoot a few weeks before the wedding where she sat down with us ahead of the session and had a mimosa, got to know us, warmed us up, and then took us out in NYC to take some photos. We were absolutely stunned, amazed, and thrilled to see the results! Her editorial style, beautiful composition, and overall vision yielded the best pictures we've ever taken. We are so excited to see our wedding pictures now that we have a taste of what's to come! Also, it should be said explicitly that she is incredibly kind and thoughtful. She listens when you talk and captures the nice and inspiring things you say about your relationship and weaves that into the final product. Then, this past weekend, we had the absolute best experience with Jacq/Love in Theory. In addition to going above and beyond prior to the wedding (e.g., Multiple meetings, follow ups, questions about our back story and personal preferences), she truly made us feel like she cared about us as humans and was just as invested in our love story and dream wedding. I've already seen a few of the photos from our wedding (just 2 days ago!) and they are PHENOMENAL. Love in Theory is the epitome of professionalism and artistry coming together. I cannot recommend them enough! 5 stars - 10/10 - HIRE LOVE IN THEORY!

endorse their work. We wanted a photographer that would be easy to work with, not demand too much from us on the day of, yet also deliver one-of-a-kind but not contrived shots. They absolutely delivered. After meeting with Jacq in advance and talking through our day-of plans, we were able to nail down a timeline that gave us plenty of options, and Jacq and Gui's flexibility was much appreciated. The photos turned out amazing, were delivered in a professional and charming way, and we will cherish them for a lifetime.

y and beyond. Not only is Jacq an incredibly talented photographer with an amazing personality, but she goes above and beyond to assist with everything regarding the wedding -she is a wealth of knowledge! She was extremely accommodating during the photo shoot and the photos turned out PERFECT and with quick turnaround to meet my schedule. Jacq has everything down to the detail! We were so happy, we cannot wait for her to shoot our wedding! We are so fortunate and endlessly excited to have Love in Theory document our wedding and highly recommend her to other to-be-brides. WOW!!!!

r day came. We got married on 10/21/17 in upstate NY at a Farm and Jacqi and Gui provided us great energy both the day prior and day of. They scouted out our venue the day prior and we talked through what we envisioned the day would be like and sure enough, everything was flawless. They were organized, helpful and gave great direction. They really helped capture our day in the best way possible. Everyone loved them and we really couldn't be happier with our pics. Loved them!! Definitely would recommend these photographers! -Melissa & Natalie

edibly kind person who made us feel like friends every step of the way. Wait till you see the pretty little package your photos come in, just one more fantastic detail!

full gumption. From helping me plan the timeline to coming up with hanger ideas for my sari photos to being patient with my chaotic Indian/Bangladeshi family, she was the best! She even came over to my place the day before during my henna and hung out with us and tried laddoos :). It's so important to be comfortable around your photographer during the wedding, since you are letting them into your personal space, with Jacq it was really easy and enjoyable. She felt like part of the family. As for the pictures, her portfolio speaks for itself. Her lighting, angles, composition and her style are all amazing and unique. Her love and talent for photography shines through all her pictures. We love you Jacq and we can't thank you enough. Gui unfortunately couldn't be part of our wedding but James replaced him and James was such a darling. He is genuinely nice person and makes you feel so happy and comfortable around him. Everyone at the wedding mentioned how nice James was. We can't wait to see all the crazy dancing photos James took! All in all, working with Love in theory was a complete delight and we 200% recommend that you hire them!!

he has a very different style than most wedding photographers and that is what we wanted. For our engagement shoot, we had her take pictures of our dogs instead and those pictures turned out amazing. The morning of our wedding Jacquie showed up on time (7:30 am) with a hanger she had made for my dress that was stunning. Her second photographer was with my husband and made him feel very comfortable in front of the camera. So far the pictures that she has sent are beautiful and I am getting a ton of compliments. I have several people asking me to send them Love in Theory’s information for their upcoming wedding. I highly recommend this company and am hoeing that I will get to work with her again if I ever need and amazing photographer.

tant thing to us was the memories. In that, we decided to find the best photographer to capture our intimate day. LoveinTheory was not only an AMAZINGLY TALENTED photographer but she turned out to be my Maid of Honor!! In a matter of seconds Jacq noticed I was short of help and offered to do everything that was needed and had yet to be done (and we took her up on that offer!)! Jacq is a wonderful artist and human being, she is kindhearted, funny, relaxed, and smart. Both my fiancé and I felt like she was our life-long friend from the first coffee she had with us! We felt completely comfortable throughout the entire photoshoot and saw a great sneak peek at the end of the day!! It was absolutely a thousand times more than we could have ever imagined- she even made my bouquet and my hubby's boutonnieres (I know right?)!! Thank you Jacq!! We love you! I'm not done! Gui, her super-talented Brazilian associate, was a pleasant surprise! We couldn't even imagine that we would be so lucky to have a SECOND photographer capturing fashion-style memories of our big day. Gui was so fun to have around and an indispensable piece to our experience! He captured stills and even VIDEO so we would have an edited film of our wedding as a surprise! Both Jacq and Gui were angels that made us prettier than we actually are! Thank you so much, Gui, for joining us in this unforgettable ride!

ugh in our photos. Jacq knew I wasn't into the really cheesy engagement and wedding photos. She understood our vision and captured it completely. The photos were fun and cute with a hint of sass; a perfect reflection of us and our wedding... She was reliable, personable, kind and warm. Weddings are stressful as it is, but she kept everyone sane and happy, especially me. :) She also introduced me to my hair and makeup artist. HIRE JACQ AND LOVE IN THEORY NOW.

s shots they captured throughout the day. We got so many compliments on our photographs from friends and family. Everyone felt that the pictures were so much more than standard wedding photos. Jacq has a really creative eye and it really came through in the final product. Our photographs feel so special and we're so grateful to have working with Love in Theory.

tural. Our photos are beautiful and we are so appreciative of her.

really stiff because of course we’ve never done a photoshoot before. Jacq was able to coach us through the shoot to get us comfortable with the camera and shooting with each other. When we saw the initial photos – we were head-over- heels IN LOVE!!!!!!!!! We totally can’t wait for our BIG DAY! Jacq is extremely professional, attentive, accessible, unique, and of course fun - we couldn’t have selected a better photographer to capture our special day.

ould I could trust enough to provide me with photos to capture some of the most special moments of my life. Photography was more important to me than any other vendor (including food and music, and I love food and dancing). After in depth research, I kept going back to Love In Theory. Not just because of their exceptional value, responsiveness, the calming effect of Jacquie's beautiful, warm personality but the pure talent and the love and light that shines through in her photographs. She has a way with capturing the most magical and fairytale-like moments. Her use of color and light come through in every shot. Trust me- just look at her site! My experience working with Jacquie & crew was sheer perfection from start to finish. My husband Tom and I received such an outpouring of positive response from our guests, bridal party and social media friends. Everyone we know has raved about our pictures from Love In Theory but not as much as we can. If anyone needs a recommendation, this is it. Jacquie is an artist and a professional. You are in the best hands with Love In Theory. Aside from her spectacular photography, her attention to detail is exceptional. All of our photos were delivered to us in the most adorable, thoughtful way. Anyone who was blessed enough to work with her knows what I mean by that. We fell in love with Jacquie from day one and now she is a friend to us. I posted about this photographer in the past after she shot our engagement photos because I already trusted that she would deliver the same results for our wedding. Jacquie- who I will always refer to as the Queen of Photography- we love you! Thank you and your team for being there as our most treasured photographer, our most sane, reliable vendor, and now our friend. Love always, M&T

tographer was definitely in the top 3 priorities. After weeks of thoroughly researching photographers and meeting with a few in person, my heart kept going back to Love in Theory's, Jacquie Lew because of her beautiful use of color, light and romantic & whimsical vision that comes through in all of her photos. After meeting Jacquie in person to get to know each other over coffee, we felt instantly calmed from her laid-back, West-Coast personality and her top-notch professionalism. We knew we found the one. A week later, we shot our engagement photos 3 days before Jacquie was leaving for an extended trip. To our shock, she made the time to send us our photos the day after the shoot despite her upcoming trip. We also received the thumb drive in the mail just days later. It came in the CUTEST packaging. Jacquie really pays attention to the little things and made us feel so special (refer to her blog!). After all that, this is the best part: Our. Pictures. Were. Amazing! We went into the shoot feeling like we would be total stiffs in front of the camera and somehow Jacquie made us relaxed and that came through in the pictures 10 fold. We are pretty much obsessed with them and now have 5 of them going on our Save The Dates because we can't narrow them down any further. All my friends have been raving about her work. Some brides have contacted me for her info already. The wedding is in a few months and I'm confident that I will have even more amazing things to say after that day. Overall, we adore Jacquie and feel like she's not only our talented photographer, but our friend. We are so lucky and blessed that we found her. Jacquie - Thank you x a million!

snow storm Jonas bellowed. Jacquie braved the storm with us and delivered amazing photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. She is such a doll to work with! She's completely down to earth and have a keen eye for detail. She even took the time to help choose my outfit. I can't wait to work with her during the wedding!

hat she understood the aesthetic and feeling we were going for. We love our engagement photos so much and have every confidence that our wedding photos will be amazing!

ng are truly unique and each photo is a piece of art. We had so many compliments on our engagement shoot. We can't wait to see our wedding photos!
