ehearsal dinner. I came upon him smiling and friendly but intent on getting the coolest shots ever. At the end of it all I realized how important it is not just to have a talented and capable photographer, but one that is also visibly happy and enthusiastic to be at your event. These people are going to be part of your wedding experience. They are with you in very intimate and emotional settings - from the first look to my zipping up the back of my daughter's wedding dress in her bridal suite. In Thien's case, we felt like we were in the hands of a true professional and an artist on top of that. He knew all the tricks to make sure that the pictures would end up polished ("hands in pockets guys! Look straight ahead for this shot!) He also made the whole bridal party feel like glamorous celebrities and that he was privileged and thrilled to be taking our pictures. Don't know how you wouldn't get jaded and cynical after so many weddings. And patience. We had 7 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen and a ton of family. Never once did I see him waver from his professionalism and get even a tiny bit exasperated when some crucial family member integral to a picture had slunk away to the bar, and we had to stop and retrieve them. Substitute "they" for him because his whole crew was the same way. I will also add that he worked with us on a monetary issue that arose from the bride and groom's inability to have their engagement photos taken. They were stuck in Berlin during the pandemic for nearly a year and actually got legally married abroad for that reason. The engagement photos became a moot point and although he didn't have to, worked with us on a refund. The good will meant a lot to us and rare among vendors. In our book, he is our designated family photographer from here on out. Thien if you are reading this, get ready for the next event parents of the bride are hoping for someday soon - baby pictures - if you are amenable to branching out! Thank you and your team for contributing to making the whole weekend a spectacular experience.
