I usually don't recommend traditional wedding bakeries for items like gluten free, dairy free, or vegan desserts because it can be really difficult to get the textures and tastes right and consistent with traditional cakes. Third Coast Bakery is the only shop in our area that specializes in these products making them a great fit when our clients have special requests. k what they use, they said "palm oil shortening" and you can definitely taste it in most flavors. They couldn't send the pastry cream filling because it wouldn't last in the mail. but this is the main issue I have with them. I asked why they use eggs in their pastry cream but not use real ingredients in their buttercream. their response was "we're only 95% vegan". Not going with them for the wedding cake...

My husband does not need to be gluten free, but continues to say this was the best cake he has ever had. I can honestly say my his FAVORITE part of all our planning, was the cake tasting! We were planning our wedding from out of town and the communication was seamless- I always felt that my order was in great hands. The Third Coast team was beyond accommodating, gracious and a true delight to work with! We always make a stop when we are in Traverse City for all of their delicious goodies. I would HIGHLY recommend you try them out!

My husband loves them too! Therefore, when we selected Third Coast to make our wedding cakes/cupcakes, we were so excited to go taste their options and discuss our vision. Heather, the owner, was SO friendly and helpful throughout the process - especially since we changed our minds several times from start to end. Truly, our Third Coast cupcakes were one of the best parts of our wedding; our guests RAVED about them. We had several different flavors of cake and icing, and our guests appreciated having options. Oh, and my gluten-free friends were ecstatic to finally be able to eat dessert at a wedding! I highly recommend Third Coast for any wedding or event. They have an amazing selection, a wonderful team available to help you, and absolutely delicious desserts. Chose this vendor - just do it. You won't regret it!!

g cake! We had the dark chocolate raspberry cake with vanilla buttercream, delicious! They were also very helpful because we are a military couple and couldn’t make it to Michigan to taste cakes they were able to ship us our cake tastings all the way to Georgia, wonderful company! 10/10!!

scovered Third Coast bakery and have to say, to be able to have items that were friendly to my food parameters, was simply a dream. We catered cookies and brownies for our wedding rehearsal and pie for our wedding dessert and everything was baked to perfection. We had SO many compliments on the food, and the funniest part about it was we didn't even tell most of our guests they were eating these allergy-friendly treats. However, the highlight of this experience was knowing my many friends and family members who did have food allergies could safely consume these treats without any worries. Knowing that everything is baked in a facility with no cross-contamination was a concern of mine and to be able to enjoy the desserts knowing I wouldn't have any reactions for my wedding was the biggest blessing of my weekend. Heather was timely, professional and organized while we discussed my ideas (we live in Florida and the wedding was in Traverse City) prior to meeting in person. I highly recommend working with her team, regardless if you experience multiple allergies like myself. You will not be disappointed. In fact, we missed Third Coast's treats so much we ordered treats to serve at our Thanksgiving Day in Florida! Everyone approved :)

eather and her staff were very nice, accommodating, and patient during the whole process. We chose not to go with a cake and instead had cupcakes and several pies for our dessert selection. We were able to get our flavor (cupcake, filling, and icing) choices mailed to us out of state so we could make our final cupcake flavor combination choices. We also had a Sunday brunch for our wedding guests and had scones, donuts, and other goodies available. Everything that Third Coast bakery makes tastes amazing! I would highly recommend Third Coast bakery, even if you don't have any dietary restrictions to consider.
