We did both engagement and wedding photos with Tommy and I honestly couldn't be happier with how each session turned out. He did a phenomenal job listening to all my half-baked, Instagram-inspired ideas, and then turned them into something beautiful and unique that somehow perfectly captured our relationship. We had several of the engagement photos printed into a Guest Book for our reception and it turned out gorgeous. I can't wait to do something similar with our wedding photos. I didn't have specific ideas about what I wanted for pictures, I just knew I wanted them to look natural. We weren't having a traditional church ceremony - in fact my husband's best friend was our officiant - so it felt natural to do something a little more relaxed. We knew we wanted a first look and we wanted to get most of the photos out of the way before the ceremony started. We only had must-have photo that we wanted captured at night. Tommy listened to everything we wanted and captured some truly beautiful candid moments of us, the bridal party, our family, and our guests. He even brought backlighting to capture the nighttime photo we asked for. My favorite, though, is one he snapped of the entire bridal party because he perfectly captured the mood and personality of the group in a single snap. Tommy was great to work with from the time we booked with him, and he was incredibly patient with us when things went a little sideways on us during our reception. We had planned to do family photos immediately the ceremony, but our families were tough to corral despite our best efforts at planning a smooth transition. Tommy remained calm the entire time and helped us improvise as much as possible. His patience in that moment meant a lot and went a long way toward keeping me calm.

Thomas was amazing! He got all the shots I could have asked for. We had a medium sized wedding and no wedding planner so I kinda let him call the shots and I don’t regret a thing! He was very accommodating with what he envisioned for a schedule and even gave us options to choose from. I definitely want to work with him again in the future for family photos!

My wife Laura and I chose Thomas McNamara Photography for our Wedding Day and we couldn’t be any happier with the results! We viewed numerous galleries by local wedding photographers online before narrowing down to only two or three options that fit our budget. To preface the next sentence, I am a hobbyist photographer who is already biased in the type of tone I like to see in photography. What stood out to us on Thomas McNamara’s website was the vivid level of color but realistic amount of contrast that brought so much life to his subjects. Many other websites seemed overcooked or bland, but the editing and grading by Thomas really drew us in. Laura and I were glad to meet Thomas (Tommy) for the first time during our engagement session and we left relieved, feeling we made a great decision. Tommy is very personable, a great sense of humor, and a fantastic eye for environment. When we saw our engagement photos just a couple weeks later we were blown away! Prior to Wedding Day, Tommy stayed in contact with us and shared his thoughts on a good hour-by-hour itinerary for the day starting with venue setup to make sure he was able to get all the shots we wanted. As a real professional, Tommy naturally knew about shots we would want - but didn’t even know we wanted! We entered our venue feeling like we were in control but Tommy had a clear road map to help us along. On the Wedding Day, Tommy and his second (Brooke) were true professionals, blending in with the guests but snapping away non-stop. We trusted his instincts 100%, and throughout the night he made sure to come to us to offer suggestions on what would make a great shot, which we always obliged. Only a few days after the wedding, Tommy already shared a few “sneak preview” shots with us that left Laura speechless. Our family and friends loved them, and then no more than 4 weeks after the wedding we had the entire gallery available. We came away with nearly 800 edited photos, all of them tack-sharp and beautiful, and we have so much fun looking at them! Thomas was our photographer for our wedding in April 2021. He not only took FANTASTIC photos but also kept us on-time and organized throughout the day. From our first meeting with Thomas he was always professional, organized and easy to communicate with. He was able to capture all the moments throughout our wedding day without being intrusive. As a couple with very different skin tones we can be hard to photograph and he was able to capture both of us perfectly. He has a relaxed nature but keeps things moving, which is exactly what you need on your wedding day. We were 110% satisfied with Thomas as our photographer and would recommend him to anyone.

My wife and I had our wedding back in the middle of October of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. Tommy and his assistant were amazing! His skill and attention to detail cannot be stressed enough. He was very professional and did plenty of other more intimate shots and still lifes as well. Not just our ceremony and bridal shots but a lot of other things too. He just knew what to do. He took pictures of things outside my wife and I’s typical wedding shots and we had no idea that he was going to take them. Things we didn’t think about photographing. Such attention to detail. His disposition and demeanor was something that should be noted too. Besides the uber skill and professionalism he possesses, he was extremely laid back and easy to work with. Such a great guy all around and a professional. Kelly and I felt so comfortable the entire time. The wait time wasn’t too bad either to get our pictures back and he always sends you a few shots a couple days later so that you can share something with your family. We got hundreds of photos back, all of them great! We are having a difficult time picking which ones to put into our photo album but that is a good thing. Thomas is very friendly and professional. He is truly talented and goes above and beyond to get the perfect shots. He is such a pleasure to work with and does a great job making everyone feel comfortable. He also has a quick turn around with getting pictures back. Wedding planning is a very stressful and complicated process. Most things required many nights of contemplation and discussion. However, there was no debate when picking Thomas McNamara as our wedding photographer. He easily impressed us compared to photographers charging twice for a fraction of the creativity and skill that Thomas provided. My wife had an opportunity to meet him in person before we agreed to anything. After discussing the wedding in more detail and what he envisioned for the night our excitement grew. At that point we agreed, Thomas was our guy. A few months passed and unfortunate circumstances required us to move up our wedding. Before selecting a new date we hopped on the phone with Thomas to check his schedule. My wife and I both felt having him remain our photographer was a substantial priority. He accommodated us and worked with our new date without hesitation. Thomas was the easiest choice we made for our wedding. From meeting with him in person to receiving our final photos, he remained a complete joy and professional to work with.

He is an amazing photographer and an awesome person! My husband and I hired him for our wedding and he was super informative and helpful. He was great with getting photos of all the children we had in our party and all of our friends and family complemented us on what an amazing photographer and nice person he was! He was also very respectful of the rules of our extremely traditional Church.

Thomas did incredible work for my wedding! Amazing, high quality pictures! He was able to capture all the beautiful little moments I as the bride didn’t even think I needed. He traveled from KC to Emporia just to capture my special day. My husband and I now have beautifully captured memories to treasure for a lifetime. I found Thomas at a time I was stressed about wedding planning. He worked to alleviate that stress by answering all of my questions in a clear and concise way. Due to my schedule we emailed throughout the preparation process and spoke on the phone a few days before to finalize any last minute needs though he was always willing to meet in person. I booked Thomas and a second photographer, Katie, both of which were amazing. Thomas photographed my groom and his men while getting ready and they expressed how thrilled they were that Thomas took photos of them in a comfortable way and incorporating things that they enjoyed such as playing basketball, cigars, and playing pool. Katie photographed me and my ladies getting ready and did so in a way that we were comfortable stressing that we should still be ourselves and “act like the camera isn’t there” (which was easier than I thought). They worked with us to make us comfortable and took many candids shots per our request. I would highly recommend Thomas for anyone looking for a photographer. He was willing to take photos of whatever we needed and allowed us to be ourselves following our lead in our desires. I have seen some sample photos and I am too excited to see the rest!!

I had Thomas shoot for my wedding. Throughout the entire day, he documented some of the finest moments of my life without me knowing it. His quality of work was beyond what I imagined.
