Thomas Preti Events to Savor

My husband and I planned our wedding with an incredibly short time frame (< 4 months) and Thomas Preti (especially Scott) were literally lifesavers. They helped us quickly plan the food for our cocktail hour and reception while adhering to numerous dietary preferences (from vegan to kosher to our picky eaters) and helping us formulate our vision for a "floating dinner." Our point person, Scott Parrish, was incredible. Patient, experienced, wise, insightful, helpful, Scott was incredibly consultative throughout the process and the results were fantastic. To start, the food was divine. Ultimately, what's more important than food?! Especially at a Jewish wedding. Thomas Preti is creative and serves up some incredible food from bite-sized appetizers like crab cakes and cacio e pepe bites, to chicken and waffles or short rib tacos paired with a shot of pomegranate vodka. We particularly loved their drink/food pairings like their "vodka latke" bar with latkes and of course, ice cold shots of vodka. With the food being delicious, all that's left is the presentation (10 out of 5 starts) and execution (20 out of 5 stars). The staff of Thomas Preti is wonderful. Attentive, professional, thoughtful and efficient. The food was plentiful and delicious, the staff were delightful. Word to the wise, do not sleep on the desserts; I'm still dreaming about their summer berry tartlet and the milkshake mug with a mini donut. I wish everyday of my life could be catered by Thomas Preti. We're so pleased with them and couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

Ten stars! From start to finish Scott and his team from Thomas Preti elevated my daughter's wedding to the highest level- they were professional, but so fun and so very approachable! They worked tirelessly to create the masterpiece at The Foundry for my daughter and her husband! Fun, delicious food- presented perfectly! The staff was outstanding in every way and made the night so special and memorable! I can't say enough about how amazing the entire experience was with them- absolute perfection!

Scott and his team at Thomas Preti Caterers created the most memorable wedding celebration for our son and his wife and their 200 guests that dined and danced under the tent in our yard. Scott and team’s planning and execution covered every detail, so that everything went perfectly. From the very first discussion, Scott made the extra effort to truly understand what was important to the couple and then made it happen. With his extensive experience and great design expertise, Scott guided the couple through the decisions on event flow, food choices, dining set-up, etc. that resulted in a magnificent setting and an incredibly fun celebration. The food was spectacular – so creative, uniquely, and beautifully presented, and delicious! The service was impeccable. The staff was not only supportive of the couple throughout the evening, but attentive to all guests with a professional and warm manner. It was easy and fun working with Scott. And all the staff was extremely helpful and friendly before, during and after the events- - they really created a wonderful atmosphere for all the festivities. Scott Parrish led the Thomas Preti team for our daughter's 80 person wedding in midtown Manhattan and the entire experience was simply magnificent. There was the challenge of a new venue (no wedding had been held at this location there before) and the opportunity to do something different (groom's family came over from Australia) and the TP team overcame the former and embraced the latter. Highest possible recommendation!

Scott Parrish and the Thomas Preti provided an unbelievable experience for us and our guests. They went above and beyond to understand our vision for not only the food, but also the overall flow and experience at our wedding. Scott provided expert guidance along the way and made it fun -- from the tasting (which was an amazing experience in itself - so many courses and options and great conversation with Scott about how each of those choices would translate to a great menu), to picking rentals, to the final prep calls before the day, we knew we were in such good hands. We got SO many compliments on the food (people are still talking about the canapes) and on how seamlessly the staff facilitated the event. 10 / 10 across the board!

My husband and I used Thomas Preti to cater our wedding and we were so pleased with the professionalism, exquisite food, and top quality service. Our Event Director, Ross was AMAZING! He and the team made the process seamless and stress-free from beginning to end. From the tasting, we were impressed with the diverse menu offering. The cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and dinner were delicious! We definitely will use them for our future events.

Scott and the Thomas preti team did a fantastic job catering our wedding, exceeding all of our expectations. From the first time we met Scott at our tasting we could tell he would be an excellent partner to work with - he worked with us to understand and accommodate exactly what we were looking for, provided thoughtful recommendations, and was always friendly, professional, and available. The day of the wedding, everything was flawless - the service was so impeccable that our guests couldn't stop raving, and the food tasted and looked fantastic. We especially loved their “Sip and Bite” combos, as well as the delicious taco station! They even dedicated one of their team members just for my wife and I to make sure we always had full drinks and got to try all the appetizers. At the end of the night they packed up a few left-overs for us to go home with so we got to enjoy the food for the rest of the week. Scott and the Preti team were so attentive to every detail and were a pleasure to work with!

I cannot recommend Ross and his team highly enough. The food was absolutely amazing (rave reviews from our guests!) and his team was kind, responsive, professional, and absolutely expert at what they do.

I would attend an event Scott and his team are a part of any day of the week and if you hire them, please invite me :) I interviewed 5 different caterers very early in my wedding planning process because to our family, food is one of the most important decisions you can make. As soon as we met Scott at our first tasting, it wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. The menu was flexible, creatively served, thoughtful and most importantly delicious. Scott was so patient and supportive while we finalized the menu and then went through the process of paring with wines and champagnes. At the wedding the staff were flawless, they made sure we ate, my lipstick was on right, I had water...etc The guests raved on the service, no ones drink got below halfway before a server was refilling it, the bartenders were personable and knowledgeable, everyone was helpful. The quality of food was exceptional, I am still dreaming of the passed appetizers, the octopus salad (choose dangerously ) and sensational main courses. So seriously, when you hire them, please invite me to your wedding because I'm counting the days until we can have an anniversary party to experience that again.

Thomas Preti and crew was unbelievable! We had a destination wedding in NYC and kind of flew blind. They made it very easy for us and helped ensure we got exactly what we wanted. The food was delicious, service was amazing and everything was presented very nicely. We couldn’t be happier.

I used Thomas Preti for my 150 person wedding in Manhattan and would HIGHLY recommend them for anyone looking for incredible food, presentation, and service. Guests were beyond impressed by the food and service. Thomas Preti goes far beyond just being caterers. Our event lead Ross, walked us through every step of the process from menu selection to execution and even helped us coordinate our florals, our rentals, our event flow -- you name it! He made the most helpful recommendations throughout the entire process and did a fabulous job bringing our vision to life. Ellen from their team was so helpful in terms of coordinating all logistics from floor plans to each and every rental item. I was so impressed with the level of service and attention we received from start to finish from every staff member including Thomas himself. This company was truly a pleasure to work with and made us feel like family from day 1. The perfect combination of warmth and professionalism!

Thomas Preti MADE our event! The service was incredible, along with the food, coordination, florals, EVERYTHING! Ross was our lead and we were blown away by his work. We were truly sad when the event ended because we would not get to work with him anymore. He made us feel calm even when there was a chance our reception was going to get rained out. Luckily it did not but he was over prepared with our plan b options and ready to execute! I will always recommend Thomas preti moving forward and will use them whenever I can!

Hiring Thomas Preti to cater my covid wedding was the best decision I made in terms of my vendors. I mean - food and drinks are a HUGE part of guests' experience at a wedding!- and we definitely wanted food and drinks to be AMAZING despite the restrictions we had. I worked with Carl and Carol from the team and they are both incredibly detail oriented. They are very communicative and quick to respond to emails. Right off the bat they knew that we wanted our guests to have a good time- while staying safe- and they really took that to heart and showed it in every part of the wedding as best they could. We had boxed meals for cleanliness and the steak and salmon were delicious. The cheesecake in the box was so good my mom asked for seconds. Our hors d'oeuvres were delicious! Our guests are still raving about them. When being passed around, they were covered by these beautiful dome lids- a suggestion that Carl made for cleanliness- and our guests noticed (such a good idea!) On the day of, they played the role of not only our caterer, but also our wedding planner/day of coordinator and everything went seamlessly. They worked well with our other vendors. We were treated like royalty - at one point, a waitress took my now husband and me aside and gave us a sample platter of our food to make sure that we ate- I was so blown away by their service. The waitress even helped me clean a stain off my dress - talk about going above and beyond! Thomas Preti Catering really made our covid wedding the best it could be and I am so thankful!

As a wedding planner in New York I've had the great privilege of working with several of the talented caterers here. I recently got to collaborate with Thomas Preti for the first time, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. They are doing truly innovative work as we adapt to these new times, and every aspect of the process was stellar. There was great communication during the planning, and the execution on site was terrific. Me and my clients were very happy!

Preti, Set, Go! boxed meals were a fantastic addition to our backyard covid wedding! With our guests limited to family-only and less than 50 people , our top priority was safety. We discovered this option when trying to figure out the best and safest way to serve our guests. This was the perfect option, a 3-course meal where everyone could grab their individually prepared box at their leisure and go sit wherever, even with the box on their lap without worry about making a mess. Silverware was also included. As a bride with 2 postponed weddings, Preti helped alleviate any worries with their professionalism and they really elevated our food game far beyond anyone’s expectations. Having such a low-key event, I (the bride) actually ate my meal and everything was really delicious, the flavors were just right! Everyone came up to me raving about their meals and the awesome idea. In light of the current coronavirus situation, this was perfect because each box came prepared individually and we were able to keep guests at ease. The packaging was a nice touch too, the placemats inside the box and stickers on top of each box were personalized with our own unique design to match the theme. Highly recommended for any wedding and especially now for any bride whose plans may have changed to their backyard or an outdoor venue. Simply wonderful experience!

I'll bet these guys do a fabulous, full blown wedding reception. But since our Covid wedding was limited to <50 people in NY, and many were worried about health and safety, we turned to Preti and Carl Hedin. They prepared the most amazingly delicious and gorgeous boxed meals! The boxes were elegant and included custom designs for our wedding couple. The food was truly delicious and sophisticated, with 3 courses and all needed flatware, etc. It allowed all those guests who were worried about catering staff and food handling to completely relax and enjoy. We are still hearing complement about the food. Thank you, Carl.

We used TPC for our COVID wedding this past Friday 7/10/2020. AMAZING AMAZING food and service! Within a month, TPC helped plan and execute a cocktail reception for 30 people. I felt completely safe with their staff and the new regulations they have for this current time. Every one of our guest complimented on how great it was and how much they enjoyed it. Scott was incredible to work with - very understanding of the position we have been in as a couple who had to postpone their original wedding several times. He was very attentive and just genuinely a great person to work with.

If you want to be completely blown away by the food and beverage service at your NYC wedding then we cannot more highly recommend Ross and the rest of the team at Thomas Preti (TP). The best part about hiring TP is the blissful state of zen we were in throughout the evening of the wedding which allowed us to focus on having the time of our lives as the service offering was executed exactly as per the plan we had decided upon beforehand. Pros: 1. Passion For Good Food: The food at TP is absolutely amazing. We would say that it is comparable to a very high-end restaurant at NYC, which is impressive given the volume of food they need to produce at large events. This focus on high quality food can be seen in excellence in presentation, ingredients, carefully crafting all the individual needs of the event even down to smaller details such as the temperature and aroma of the food. Almost all of our guests remarked that this was the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding, which is a wonderful compliment to receive. 2. Great Team Who Is Attentive and Professional: Every member of the TP team who we interacted with impressed us with their high level of professionalism. To start with, our main point of contact at the firm was a young man named Ross who was hungry to deliver nothing but the best experience. Over the course of five months we emailed him at least 100 times and spoke to him on the phone at least 10 times and in each interaction Ross was attentive to our needs. We also met twice with the owner of the firm Mr. Preti who is a foodie himself and took a personal interest in designing our menu, which consisted of our two favorite cuisines, Italian and Indian food. We got a tour of their kitchen and met with their executive chef, pastry chef and a number of members of their wait staff who are trained in-house. On the day of the wedding, service was superlative. For example, to make all of our guests feel equally special, tables of 12 people were each served their food at exactly the same time by six members of the wait-staff who had two plates of food each in their hands. This high level of service is rare and requires a tremendous amount of training which helps create that special wow factor. 3. Flexibility: Weddings can be expensive and there was some amount of back and forth that we had with Ross to try to lower costs on the margin where possible. He understood where we were coming from and worked within our budget. We for example did not want to spend too much on alcohol and the drinks package we chose was quite a bit more reasonable than most other vendors we looked at. On the other hand, Ross was tougher when negotiating on staff/labor costs for the wedding, which is understandable as a large number of hands is needed to deliver the excellent service that they did. Cons: 1. Cost: Weddings by their very nature can be expensive and the cost of the offering at TP while roughly in-line with two other caterers we explored was still by most standards expensive. We would compare going with TP with buying an Apple product versus one from another competitor. It cost about the same or slightly more upfront but the satisfaction derived from excellent service more than makes up for it.

I cannot praise Thomas Preti more highly. From start to finish they were incredibly professional, of the highest quality, and achieving exactly the style and tone we were looking for. The planning and internal staff was amazing, completely customizing and so so helpful with every little detail. They go above and beyond the average catering company to be so completely full service in planning the event. The day-of catering staff were phenomenal, they were the highest quality professionals and so many guests told us how amazing the quality of service was. And there truly are not enough words to talk about the chef and the food, we had just a seated dinner, no dancing, so we really needed the food to be outstanding, and every single guest told us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Cannot recommend more highly!

I do not know if there are enough complementary words to describe the Thomas Preti team. First off, the food is amazing! Even though it is months after our wedding, people are still telling us that the food was the best they've ever eaten at a wedding. The service was incredible! During one of our many phone calls, I asked to make sure there was enough staff so the service would be excellent. For a jam packed room, I don't think that anyone was ever waiting for a drink and each table was served dinner like it was a perfectly orchestrated performance. It was truly special to watch. Lastly, I cannot thank the team enough. From the first tasting with Tom and Ross, to hopping on phone calls to go through the menu line by line, to walking through every rental item, we truly felt taken care of throughout the process. Ross went out of his way to work with us on some extensive allergies and all of our guests could not have been more grateful. As an event planner myself, I would work with Thomas Preti and his team for every event!

I originally reached out to Thomas Preti right before I was about to make a decision between two other caterers. I wasn't 100% sold on either, and just didn't feel confident in their ability to execute my vision. Luckily, I noticed some of Thomas Preti's events on Instagram, rang them immediately and Tom happened to answer. From the minute we began speaking I knew Tom was my guy. He understood my vision completely, we just got each other. I lended up meeting him that day and I was completely sold. Thank god for instinct! Tom, Ross and the entire TP team are amazing. Their attention to detail is impeccable (I am type A so this speaks volume), and the food...OH MY GOD!! Our guests are still raving. Who has candied bacon on their wedding bars?? My husband and I are foodies and huge fans of mixologist/speak easy style cocktails, boy did they nail both! I highly, highly recommend TP!

Thomas Preti did a fantastic job on our wedding at the Glasshouses in NYC. From the planning to execution, they never missed a beat.
