Nell is great at finding exactly what you are interested. Beautiful clean store.
Nell is a true gem and her bridal shop is absolutely amazing!!! I cannot rave enough over how much I enjoyed my experience with Nell at Thornbury Brides. She helped me select my dr...
eam wedding dress for my August 26, 2023 wedding. I absolutely loved how personable and sweet Nell is. I had told Nell when I first arrived that I had been to another shop months before coming to hers and I had no luck, a time crunch and felt very defeated at the prior shop. I will never forget the words she said back to me “my dearest Brigitte, you have all the time in the world here to find the perfect dress, and I’m here to help you every step of the way”. I was able to relax and enjoy myself. I wasn’t sure exactly what style I wanted and Nell took her time to help try on all sorts of styles, and I finally had a vision for what I wanted. From there, it was easy and she let me stay in my final selection for over 30 minutes and envision what I could do with it. It was one of my best and favorite experiences of my wedding planning process, and she made me feel so special as all Brides should feel on this very important day of saying yes to the dress!
Nell at Thornbury’s is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She saved my wedding. I will never be able to thank her enough. When my first dress (purchased elsewhere) was ru...
ined 28 days before the big day due to poor alternations (done elsewhere) Nell stepped in and saved the day. She welcomed me into her shop the day on short notice and within an hour helped me find the most amazing dress. There were many options. The shop is filled with so many beautiful dresses, but this was the first I tried on and it just felt like the one. I believe it was divine intervention because I can’t imagine getting married in any other dress than the one, I purchased from Thornbury’s. I felt so beautiful and didn’t want to take it off. As I write this, I want to put it back on! Nell assisted in sending me to someone who did alternations and in the end my day was perfect. She was my angel here on earth!
Thornbury Brides is the best place to find your dream dress. The owner works with appointments only so that she can give her client her undivided attention. She listens to what you...
want in your dress and makes sure that you find the dress of your dreams. I highly recommend getting your dress from Thornbury Brides!
This isn't your typical review, but so worthy of sharing! My daughter purchased her dress in Richmond, VA for a destination wedding near Emerald Isle. We had some challenges with g...
etting the dress wedding ready after the alterations (very poor service from the bridal shop in VA) and transport. I was given Thornbury Brides and Nell's contact info from our event planner in hopes she would do what so many others wouldn't do, help out with a dress that wasn't purchased from her. Nell was an angel! She immediately said she would help, made an appointment for me to bring it in on the day that was convenient for me, wouldn't charge me, and guided me through how to transport from New Bern to Emerald Isle and how to touchup the day of wedding. When I walked into her shop, I was impressed with the elegance and the selections (of course you can't stop in without looking a little)! With the kindness and expertise that she exhibited to me, I can't even imagine what a joy it would be to have her as part of your wedding team. This was daughter #2's wedding. Based on her dress experience as well as daughter #1's experience, I wouldn't run to Thornbury Brides to work with Nell if I was involved with another wedding. Thank you Nell!!
Nell was the best. She provided outstanding service and had the most beautiful gowns. So so so happy we got my dress here, it was more beautiful than I could’ve imagined!
Nell was amazing. Highly recommend shopping for your dress here!
I stumbled into Thornbury Brides on accident. I was shopping in downtown New Bern with my mother and we gave the shop a call to see if they could squeeze us in while we were in the...
area. Little did I know I woulb be walking out with my dress that day! I tried on a handful of dresses that were all lovely and Nell took what I described and the few photos I showed her for inspiration and she found exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
Nell made the shopping experience so much fun! With my mom and I living in different states she really helped me feel at ease through the entire process and made sure to take tons ...
of pictures when I picked up my dress to show my mom! She is so professional and was able to make the changes to make my dress unique to me! Thank-you for everything Nell!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was at Thornbury Brides! Nell is so incredibly sweet and helpful when it comes to finding the perfect dress. When I arrived fo...
r my appointment, I had some basic ideas of what I wanted in my dress but did not have a "dream dress" or "dream style" in mind. Nell helped me pick out various styles to try on and knew exactly what would look best on me. This shop has a beautiful selection of dresses! It was such an easy decision to say yes to the dress! Not only did Nell help me find the perfect dress but she helped to make sure it remained perfect up until my wedding day. I love being a sassy Thornbury Bride :) If you are looking for the perfect dress, you absolutely must go see Nell at Thornbury Brides!!
I cannot say enough about Nell and her wide selection of dresses. My mother, maid of honor, mother of groom and I set an appointment and were blown away from the very beginning. We...
were able to look around at gowns and she asked for suggestions of what I was looking for, too. Only one fitting room and she listened to what I had to say! Perfect because I am the bride. I had been elsewhere and they did not listen. I was able to try on gowns, assess them and make my decisions. Ultimately, I found my gown at Thornbury Brides!
Nell is an absolute JOY to work with!! She was so accommodating with my mom and I’s schedule! Helping me pick out the perfect dress within my price range! She was so flexible on wh...
en we were coming in, and even allowed us to come in on a day she normally does not schedule fittings! Nell truly made me feel like such a princess! We even had some people stop in without an appointment and because Nell didn’t have anything lined up afterwards she helped the girls try on dresses!! I could sin praises about Thornbury Brides!! This has always been my dream bridal shop, and now I get to be a ThornBury Bride! I wish I could give you more stars Nell!! But just know you have truly made my day!
Treated like a parasite because we made the mistake of not seeing on the door by appointment only. The owner was snooty and rude. The professional thing would have been to offer me...
a business card to call back and set up appointment. Instead, my daughter and I were pretty much shunned. I dare say this lady has lost more than she has earned. I don’t care how many glasses of wine you offer with your appointments if you don’t practice professionalism you’ll flop! It is a PRIVILEGE for any business owner when someone steps into your business not the other way around.
I had an AMAZING experience with Nell after a horrid experience the day before in Greenville at another company. I am STILL hearing from Nell trying to help my unique wedding day v...
ision come true! I couldn't be happier with the service, hospitality, kindness, and knowledge I have received from working with Thurnbury Brides and Nell.
The owner is very friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help you find your gown. The dresses were all similar with a lot of fullness and poof, which I was not looki...

this store have that Boston doesn't? Well I was very wrong, from the moment I walked in I was treated so nicely and the place was so elegant and warming. Neil was friendly, professional and charming. She was honest and knew the bridal industry. Beautiful, unique and overall just a wonderful experience to say "yes to the dress." Thank you Thornbury for helping me find my special dress for my big day. What a wonderful store and owner.
I would not recommend this business to anyone I know. I went in on a Friday to browse the gown selection. I did not want to try anything on at all. I just wanted to get some ideas ...
and make face to face contact with the business that might supply my gown. As soon as I entered the business I was interrogated about my purpose on being in the store. I informed the woman that I did not plan on getting married soon but would like to browse her selection. I was then asked to leave the store because her gowns are to expensive for what I'm probably looking for. I was dressed very nicely and regardless of my appearance no one knows how much a person has based on appearance. Again, I would not suggest this business to anyone. Stay clear and take your business elsewhere.
The owner was amazing and really helped with selecting the right gowns. Going back since I liked so many of the gowns.
I still feel like I'm in a dream after my amazing experience with Nell Glover Todd at Thornbury Brides on Monday. I couldn't have asked for a better day of wedding dress shopping. ...
It will forever be a special moment!! Nell is so knowledgable about each dress and made me feel so comfortable. I could sit and listen to her describe the dresses all day. The shop is absolutely perfect and New Bern is lucky to have her! After I found "THEE DRESS", she was even sweet enough to hop on the phone and describe the dress to my grandmother who would have loved to be there but wasn't able to make the trip. All the dresses are to die for in the shop and there are dresses for any style of bride. I can't wait to go back for my fitting!! A big thank you to my wonderful entourage who also added a special touch to the day - Hannah Roye Teresa Futrell Jenkins Lynn Davis Edwards Dana Edwards Boone and my mama!

ormation we needed about the town. We loved the dress shown in the middle of the shop and Nell invited my daughter to try it on and then encouraged her to look at more, even though it was closing time (or after). So nice to be treated so well after 'bopping' in without an appointment. We are going back to see the new 2017 dresses before we decide!
The owner, Nell Todd, is wonderful. My daughter had looked at several wedding stores and did not see any of the quality and elegance of Thornbury's dresses. Nell was extremely ac...
commodating with appointment times and listened carefully to what my daughter wanted. Nell made this shopping trip a pleasure instead of the typical "you will have to order immediately" to get a dress on time. I recommend anyone that needs a wedding dress to shop at this store.
