And beyond her artistry, she went above and beyond in so many ways, including literally helping me get into my dress when things got tricky. I got so many compliments, and my hair felt like silk! She even gave me tips for how to tackle the San Diego frizz moving forward which has been so helpful, and taught me about some amazing natural hair and cosmetic brands. Not only is she an expert and perfectionist in what she does, she is also a pleasure to work with and she makes the time you spend sitting while getting hair and makeup down extremely enjoyable. She even stayed late to add on services when my brother-in-law's Mom decided to get her makeup done last minute! I highly recommend Amanda for your wedding or special event-you'll be in great hands!

Our wedding was originally in Big Sur and we had to scramble last minute when the highway collapsed to move it up to sea ranch. Heading into the process, I had never had my hair and make-up done before, and I appreciated that she took the time to listen to my half-baked beauty ideas and translate them into three separate looks that were all beautiful in their own way and still made me feel like me. I have never had so many compliments in my life! And I am so happy with how the looks turned out in real life and in my photos from the events. I am especially pleased with how Amanda was able to transform my thin and fine hair—something I am very insecure about—into magically thick buns. Amanda is also just a joy to hang out with. h I thought was hard to find. She also does a wide range of make up and hairstyles on different skin tones/skin and hair types/ethnicities. From our first communication and finally meeting her in-person at my H + MU trial, she was warm, friendly, and made you feel comfortable. She was very responsive and she definitely knows her stuff! During my H + MU trial, I wanted a natural look for my makeup. She executed that well. But a week before my wedding, I decided to kick it up a notch with the makeup and really liked the natural glam look. So I reached out to Amanda right away and told her what I wanted. Even though I was super nervous about telling her a week before the wedding, she responded quickly and was up for the idea! On the wedding day, she and her team went above and beyond for making myself, bridesmaids, junior bridesmaid, and mothers feel and look beautiful! Not only that, Amanda did a small but wonderful thing, which I will never forget. She asked me if she can do my mom’s H + MU as my mom sat and watched me get mine done. My mom has never had her makeup done, but Amanda made sure that my mom’s first experience went great. That small, little thing meant everything! If you want a person who is gentle and kind-hearted with a fun personality for your wedding day, Amanda is definitely your girl! She is pure magic and talented! Your package includes a trial hair and makeup - most people do but Amanda takes it step further and really gives you honest advice. Explaining not only what will look good on you but what will photograph well. (I highly recommend using this day for your engagement shoot and or some kind of photoshoot with your wedding photographer it allowed me to see exactly how I would look on our wedding day) Detail oriented - she will take her time and make sure your look is up to her high standards not only for you but for your whole bridal party she made sure everyone's makeup and hair was in unison however unique to their own looks. Experienced - because of her experience the process of hair and makeup from start to finish goes relatively quickly however you do not lose the quality and personal touches. Kind and fun to be around - Wedding days can be stressful mainly because there are a lot of moving parts, but Amanda makes you feel calm not only with her fun personality but also because she has done this for so long you feel in very capable hands knowing you will get exactly what you want for your wedding day look. I could go on and on about Amanda but I'll leave you with this. If you want to feel absolutely gorgeous on your special day she is the perfect fit! I have never gotten more complements on my hair and makeup and never felt more beautiful. She truly has a gift and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone for your special life events! After seeing before and after pictures from all four stylists, I went with Amanda. Her before and afters were the most impressive to me. She has a way of accentuating each clients best features. At my makeup and hair trail Amanda was exactly how I imagined she would be. She was so kind and such a great listener. She took in consideration all my concerns and made great suggestions. (Go with the glam eyelashes!) On the day of the wedding she and her team (Candace and Natalie) provided full hair and makeup for myself, five bridesmaids, two moms, and my sister. Amanda and her team were so sweet and they seemed like we had known them forever. We felt so comfortable with them. Everyone loved their makeup and hair! Amanda helped me with my dress and also was a calming force through some anxiety that I was experiencing the morning of. I would refer Amanda to everyone that is looking for hair/makeup for any occasion.

The morning was an empowering, beautiful time together, with talented and artistic women that would ask what we want, and take that to what they knew would bring out the best in each of us. Watching each of these women smile after their service or while watching eachother was something I will feel and remember as one of the most beautiful parts of the day. Amanda then followed us to the venue to do touch up with us until the ceremony. This was helping us (me) tighten up some curls or freshen up after a few happy tears or even just with the little sweat around my face during some of the processes of the day. During this time we valued her opinion on jewelry or outfit questions, her help with the corset on my dress, staging makeup photos, placing my veil, or even providing a steamer for one of my gal's dresses. She felt like part of the family, and we were all sad to see her go, though I think we all felt more beautiful and confident than we could have without her. If you have any wavering on whether you want these services or with who, I would encourage anyone/everyone to reach out to her. She is prompt, the trial was wonderful, and I don't think that our day would have been as easy, relaxed, or beautiful without her. She was excited with us and our ideas for hair, but will also advise what she thinks she will be best for you. She helps you see the beauty in yourself makeup free, and then focuses on enhancing your best parts more than changing anything about you. I will truly never forget the smiles I saw on my beautiful women that morning.

caring people that I know. I was tremendously lucky to find Amanda, and sincerely privileged to have her do my make-up all throughout my wedding weekend as well as for our “first look”. The only thing about her that makes me sad is that I don’t live in San Diego and cannot have my hair and make-up done by Amanda for all kinds of events! Amanda’s warmth and calm confidence radiate from her. From the moment that I met her, Amanda put me at ease, which is not an easy feat. We actually first spoke during a get-to-know-you phone call and when I hung up, I couldn’t believe that we had just met; it felt like I had just spoken to an old friend. Amanda was one of the few partners for our wedding that I trusted completely to work her magic. Her skills and organization were especially appreciated after having gone through a couple of terrible trials prior to finding Amanda. During my wedding weekend, she created 3 unique looks for me. I did not have to provide any directives as Amanda took the time and energy to understand my skin, how I like to carry myself etc. and applied her skills and great experience to come up with differentiated and beautiful looks. While you may think that the dresses would have stolen the show, in fact, I got more compliments on my make-up than anything else. Amanda also did my best friend’s make-up; my best friend and I have had our make-up done together for countless weddings / parties, but never have I ever seen her blue eyes look so unbelievably stunning as when Amanda did her fine work. My best friend is pregnant, so Amanda’s glamifying and making her feel gorgeous was even more appreciated. Lastly, my favorite element about working with Amanda is her calm presence. The wedding planning process and the event(s) themselves were overwhelming and stressful. Amanda managed to keep me calm during them – in large part because I had complete trust in her and her skills, and also because of what a warm and reassuring force she provides. The best decision I made was having Amanda with me during the entire wedding weekend. It took away all worries / stress about touch-ups, allowed me to mix-up my looks, and most importantly, to share my special weekend with a very special person and to spend more time with her! As I look back on my wedding, I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and work with Amanda – she is truly an INCREDIBLE artist and person.

I was EXTREMELY particular when searching for a hair and makeup artist, and Amanda was the only one (out of a countless number of people) who seemed to be able to create the natural look I was going for. We had a wide range of hair types (long and thick, short, straight, etc) and she was able to offer great advice on what would work best for our hair type and what would be most flattering. On top of her amazing skills, she's an awesome person to work with! She is fun to chat with and put everyone at ease (she even offered lavender oil when the nerves started to build up). I can't recommend her more! Go check out her Instagram and you'll see what an amazing job she does! I'm from the Chicago area so we weren't able to do a trial or meet Amanda before booking, but her Instagram had the best work by far of what we'd looked at. We decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did!

She used airbrush make-up and my makeup lasted all afternoon and night (it was so hot and humid in San Diego that day). I also have frizzy curly hair which she was able to tame into an elegant curly up do (curly haired girls - she knows what she's doing with our hair). I highly recommend her and hope I'll have an excuse to use her incredible talent again.

She was so sweet despite my mixed signals about what I wanted! She completely put me at ease at the trial and made me super excited! On the day, Amanda far exceeded my wildest dreams! She kept us all on schedule and made sure everyone was comfortable with their make-up. She made my Mom feel so beautiful (who usually hates when anyone does her hair and make-up) as well as pampered my Grandma. I could tell my Mom felt so good! I was so grateful of how great of care she took of them. My mother-in-law was super nervous because she never wears make-up but Amanda helped reassure her and she looked amazing. And my maid of honor's whole look was gorgeous as well! While she was doing my hair and make-up she helped calm my early nerves and really helped me to relax before the craziness of the day really begun. She made me feel so much more comfortable and completely put me at ease. I don't know how but she actually made me look better than at the trial! She truly made me feel so beautiful and it was so great not having to worry about any of it coming off!! She made me look completely flawless and I couldn't have imagined more stunning hair or make-up! Honestly, everyone kept telling me how beautiful I looked but I knew that it was all Amanda's work. All the women could't stop telling me how gorgeous my hair and make-up were! She placed the pins in my hair perfectly and made sure every aspect of my appearance was perfect. Amanda was truly an amazing person to have during this whole process because she is a true artist and master at her craft. And she is also such a lovely person, she makes you feel so secure and you trust her completely. She is also just so fun to talk to and really gets you to relax!
