Taryn's decorating taste and style also exceeded all of my expectations - I didn't know our DIY decorations could be so beautifully arranged. Furthermore, Taryn kept our wedding moving smoothly - many guests commented that the wedding felt seamless. We were able to fit everything we wanted to do on a timeline that never felt rushed. Lastly, her attention to detail and care for her clients are unmatched. She helped me bustle my dress (even when I never asked), had water vases placed in front of all of my bridesmaids for bouquets, and made sure we didn't miss a single person in our extended family portraits and photos. On top of all of this, her communication is fast and responsive. I've never had difficulty getting in contact with Taryn in over 1 year of working together. int during the day or evening did I feel like I had to step in, handle issues, etc. Whether issues arose or not, I wouldn’t know! She made sure that our day went as smoothly as possible, and that no one felt the need to stress about something getting done.
Her hard work, professionalism, and all of the above, made it so we could actually enjoy the day, it’s festivities, and more importantly, spend ample time with friends and family.
I would highly recommend Tied and True events to anyone looking for the wedding day they’ve always pictured! Aside from all mentioned, she’ll most likely have some wonderful recommendations to make it even better :)

I am deeply frustrated and appalled at the overall quality of work, lack of confidence and professionalism, poor attention to detail, and Taryn's inability to respond to issues as they arose. While my wedding day was still beautiful, it was not...
due to the services that Taryn provided.
In addition to the great reviews, our communication during our interview and leading up to the wedding gave me confidence that she would be a great complement to the work I did to prepare for the wedding. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
My BIGGEST issues:
I hired Taryn so the planning I had done could be confidently handed over to ensure a smooth timeline the day of the wedding. Instead, I felt like I had to keep track of things myself and did not enjoy time with my guests like I wanted because I was distracted.
I was very specific that it was MANDATORY that no one would need to clean after the wedding so they could enjoy themselves. Although I did provide extra help, she ended up pulling in guests that were still present to assist her.
In addition:
- did not decorate in accordance with the detailed instructions I sent. She showed up at 2pm on the day of a 5pm wedding, and the majority of the items I purchased were neither opened or used, which she did not let me know. I also feel like she had no attention to detail as my wedding favors were set out in their transport boxes instead of being nicely displayed.
- incessant texting 48 hours before my wedding. Although I had many conversations with her prior to the day, she battered me with texts until I asked her to start texting the point of contacts that I had already provided
- she seemed beyond frazzled and lacked confidence, making comments to me and my bridal party about how stressed and busy she was
- she was nowhere to be found on wedding morning. The wedding timeline she created was not shared with anyone in the wedding party which caused confusion on when anything needed to be done. We had to share the timeline or direct people ourselves which created more stress and confusion
- she hired an assistant who I feel was not helpful and also mirrored her stress and confusion
- I feel like she was incapable of reading situations as I saw her interrupt my husband while he was having an emotional moment with his dad
- I feel she showed a lack of composure and professionalism when I paid her for services to provide the opposite. For example, I asked for to text my caterer and she responded with “there’s a lot happening right now" which made me feel like I was adding stress to her.
- Her untimely responses were incredibly unprofessional. I texted twice about missing linens that she was responsible for cleaning up and waited for 5 days for her to respond. Only after sending an email with complaints did I hear back and she took another 5 days to "process" my complaints without responding. As a client I could only assume she forgot about me or no longer cared to address anything after the wedding day was over.
I feel like she took advantage of the competency of my family and friends instead of taking charge of the situation herself. I am embarrassed that her abysmal work reflected poorly on me, sad that my wedding was tainted by someone I paid and trusted to ensure the opposite, and frustrated about her lack of capabilities.

four star on The Knot). I take my work very seriously as the owner of Tied and True Events. I care DEEPLY about my clients satisfaction and give my 110% to every wedding and event that I do! Period.
I feel this bride had many unkind words, inaccuracies, accusations, assumptions and hearsay in the review she left (some of which were retracted due to The Knot’s review policies). Also, we were treated rudely and disrespectfully by someone in the bridal party throughout the wedding day and I felt it was very inappropriate. We also struggled to get intoxicated guests to leave at the end of the night. My assistant and I worked tirelessly for this wedding from beginning to end. The groom showed his appreciation MANY times throughout the day and was grateful for our services, he was not the only one to do so!
It wasn’t until two weeks after the wedding I received a long email with complaints, some of which are the bride not understanding the role of a month of/day of wedding coordinator which I elaborated on in my reply to her. Assumptions were made that were contrary to what we had discussed previously. I clearly stated in our written timeline we created together when I would arrive on the wedding day and what to expect from me. I cannot and will not do a 15-20 hour work day as my job is so physically and mentally demanding- it was never communicated to her that I would arrive the morning of the wedding. It was also in my contract I would work a 10-12 hour day. I gave ample time (same amount I do for every wedding I do) for setup and also met the bridal party at the hotel prior to setup to check in with them. I set out all the decor as discussed- only change to the plan was a judgement call made in the moment.
I will make sure in the future to outline expectations to my clients more thoroughly and clearly to avoid any assumptions. I spent more time outside of this wedding day prepping, putting out fires and answering vendor emails/calls than I EVER have for a month of/day of planning package. I am deeply saddened by the aftermath of this wedding. I felt the bride had a lot going on emotionally/personally that was outside of my control in my role as a wedding planner.
A note on communication- I try to respond to all emails/calls/texts within 24-48 hrs. This communication piece she spoke of- the texts she said she sent, I did not receive. I was unaware of anything she needed after the wedding, although I did reach out to congratulate the couple. I would NEVER leave a client hanging. A huge piece of being a planner is communication and I stay on top of it! :)
The rest of the reviews you will read about my company should make it easy to overlook this review. I realize you cannot win them all and you cannot please every bride, no matter how hard we try! I will do my darnedest to make sure that I select my clients carefully to avoid this kind of experience in the future. I want to help curate the BEST wedding day possible for all my bride and grooms! She organized our large wedding party during rehearsal to ensure the ceremony went flawlessly. She completely took charge to make sure the focus was on me and my husband.
On our wedding day, she decorated our venue with all of my DIY decorations, set beautiful tables, and coordinated everything down to the last detail.
She was constantly checking in with my husband and me to make sure everything was going exactly as we wanted. She kept reminding us that it was our day and we got to dictate how it went. She ensured we got some time to ourselves to soak in the day-- which was one of the most special aspects of our wedding.
Days later, I found out a lot had been going wrong behind the scenes. We had no idea! Taryn was the calm we needed during our day and made sure that none of the chaos affected us in any way. It legitimately made for the perfect day, and we could not have done it without her!
I cannot recommend her services enough-- she is the perfect fit for your wedding needs! We love Taryn and Tied & True Events!

n was on it! She jumped right in calling venues for availability, scheduling walk-throughs, negotiating pricing, everything I had no time to do. She found us caterers and a great DJ. And when we thought we may need to replace our photographer a week before the wedding she was on that too! On the day of the wedding she was such a fun and calming presence at a time that can so easily be stressful and overwhelming. Because of her the biggest concern my husband and I had the entire day was finding time for beer and appetizers during pictures (which Taryn also took care of!). Taryn was fantastic! She provided great vendor recommendations, replied to all the random concerns we had (no matter how outrageous), and was instrumental in helping us navigate during the COVID restrictions. We went through a planning hiatus during lockdown, shifting planning timelines, a change of venue and shrinking guestlist and Taryn was with us through it all helping us adjust. When we got to the actual wedding, she was completely in control from setting up welcome tables, interacting with vendors and making sure we got food and drinks. My parents commented on how professional, vibrant and delightful she was and how well she took care of the entire day. Anyone would be in great hands working with Taryn.

Taryn, was our wedding planner and she was amazing! She took the challenge of not only the short amount of time, but her very first Cambodian wedding, This involved 13 hours wedding day, filled with 4 outfit changes in one day. She eased my mind by getting quotes, and being the middle man, for rentals, serving staffs, and contacting all my vendors, and making great suggestion about setting up the backyard. The set up of the backyard was the most difficult task, and she was able to coordinate with me to lay out the tables, chairs, placement of photo backdrop, bar tops, bar, welcome table, dessert table, catering tables, and shading that just made sense.
The day of the wedding, I was so relaxed how it should be, and this is because I knew that Taryn was there to made sure things go according to our timeline. Event though, there were some parts of the Cambodian wedding that didn't start on time, she made me aware of the events and we were able to get back on track.
When we returned from our professional photo shoot, the backyard was transformed into a beautiful wedding setting. Everything was set up and all the decor was perfectly placed as I always imagined! It was more than I ever hoped for! It feels so great to come back and to feel so in the moment and not having to stress about preparing things for the wedding, Taryn did that and more!

happening. I hired Taryn just to help with our reception (after a very small destination ceremony). Even though she didn't have to, she still helped me with some aspects of the ceremony, but even better is that our reception went off flawlessly. Decorations were perfect, she communicated swiftly with anyone who needed to touch base with her, and definitely made sure that we ate. And I never saw my mom stressed out once :) I highly recommend Tied and True to other couples.

up the entire day. She was responsible for informing us what needed to get done and providing the timeline. Besides finding and securing the vendors, what needed to get done, Taryn mostly took care of. One of our Wedding Diva requests was that we had a margarita waiting for us after the ceremony. It's not too diva, is it? Get married, have a mother loving margarita? Regardless, there were the margaritas, ice un-melted, their clinks congratulating us on a long life of drinking margaritas together.
Taryn is incredibly professional, reliable, and knows her stuff. She showed up for the wedding with two outfits! Don't worry, when you see her 4 hours before the ceremony wearing running shorts and a t-shirt (I wasn't worried, my uncle wore a tuxedo t-shirt, but I understand not all weddings are t-shirt appropriate), she will materialize later to organize the wedding party looking like Princess Diana's younger sister.
Without a doubt, we would refer Tied & True Events to anyone organizing any kind of event. Our community still talks about our wedding day as the best freaking party we have ever been to, and Taryn was a HUGE part of making that party so great.

I feel so honored to be able to share such a memorable day with my clients & witness true love in its purest form, it takes my breath away every time. I really enjoy hearing each & every love story & working with couples leading up to their wedding. When I'm not wedding planning you can usually find me enjoying the outdoors- skiing, biking, hiking, and rollerblading with my dog Bentley! ;) I also really enjoy traveling, good tea, and relaxing in the sunshine!
