Tim photographed our wedding in Sonoma and he was fantastic! He captured so many amazing candid shots that were very special. Looking through the pictures he really told a story. Tim was AMAZING. We weren't sure if he'd be up for a 10+ mile hike in to our elopement spot on the John Muir Trail, but he ended up beating us to camp. Tim! Please choose Tim! Tim is like the cousin/best friend/patient attentive brother/ basically a super awesome guy that fits in right away and knows what to do! He is into the smallest detail! Being the non Type A bride, I didn’t pay attention to things that I should have. For example, Tim was taking pictures when I was doing my makeup. I had a hair tie on my wrist. Tim asked me if the hair tie meant anything, I said “no, Oh! I have to take that off”. Those 6 hrs were amazing and I was so happy that Tim was there to capture all of it! I had my fair share of photographers (family weddings) and I have to say that Tim is the best! I was so glad that Tim was available that day! Finding the right photographer for our wedding was one of the tasks that took us the most time. Aside from each other, and the memories, the pictures are the one true thing you leave your wedding day with. It was important to us that we found not only an excellent photographer, but also someone who made the experience more personal. Tim was that exact fit. Before we decided on hiring him, Tim spent a significant amount of time with each of us on the phone asking questions about our lives, what we love about each other, who is important to us and how we would like to see our day unfold. Tim was awesome to work with and made the big day fun and smooth, despite the fact that we had some specific requests that were hard to work with. I can also say - sometimes you wonder if photographers just cherry picked the best 10 photos they have ever taken for their marketing website but that is not the case with Tim. Book Tim! Our wedding was a small winery wedding (24 people) and we learned of Tim through our venues preferred vendor list. When we talked with Tim he was very easy going, personable, professional and great with being on time and following up. On the wedding day Tim was right on time and ready to go he was just fantastic to work with. We received our photos well within the timeframe he provided and my husband and I are delighted with the photos. We have beautiful photos to remember our day by – they really are stunning. Tim is great at catching moments. The process was simple a fun with Tim. We highly recommend him!

Book. This. Guy. Tim was incredible to work with from start to finish. He helped us figure everything out ahead of time (shot list, flow of the day, etc) and was incredibly professional and fun the day of the wedding. Most of the time, we didn't even notice he was around, which I think says a lot about a pro photographer. His photos were so incredible and he really did capture every special moment of our big day without being intrusive or making us feel rushed. For us, that was the perfect balance: great photos from a photographer who seemlessly blended into the scene of the day.

Tim photographed our engagement session and wedding day. All of our photos are beautiful! Tim was able to capture the excitement and energy from our guests on the dance floor, as well as the cute looks on our ring bearers and flower girls during the ceremony, and the small details that added up to a lovely day. We got last minute rain storms the night before and day of our wedding, but that didn't stop Tim from being able to perfectly capture all the love and joy from everyone. I know I'm partial, but I honestly believe I have the best engagement and wedding photos out of all my friends and family. If I could give Tim a higher rating, I absolutely would!

We called Tim with an idea-- Half Dome in the background, 10 people gathered around us, an exchange of vows where we'd start our first adventure as a married couple the next day-- The John Muir Trail. We were pretty laid back about almost all the details of our wedding, but we wanted to get the photographer right-- someone we could trust to capture the energy of the day so we and our families could simply enjoy the experience, someone who shared in our quirkiness and in our spirit of adventure, and given the intimate nature of the ceremony, someone who could get the job done while managing to feel like a friend. It was a lot to ask of a photographer, and Tim by far exceeded every single one of our expectations. He answered our call with a shared and genuine enthusiasm, offered some really helpful suggestions, and, if possible, got us even more excited about our day. When we look at the pictures of our wedding day (which arrived much earlier than expected!), we are reminded of the joy we felt that day surrounded by our loved ones and Yosemite's awe-inducing beauty. Neither of us is exactly the most natural in front of the camera, but Tim made us feel super comfortable, giving us direction, but also just letting us have fun and enjoy the hike we took to get some couple shots. He was super generous with his time and energy, hiking miles and scrambling up rocks to capture the shots. And we're just blown away with the results. Tim was phenomenal! We had a magnificent wedding shoot, and he brought a lot of life and fun to our celebration. We are so thankful that we chose him to be our photographer. Planning our destination wedding in North Lake Tahoe, in the winter, we knew we could not go wrong. Tim was awesome! We are both so glad we found Tim for our engagement pictures and wedding day. We stumbled on him through our search for Tahoe area photographers and knew he would be a good match based on his active and adventurous website. He was responsive and available for our wedding date and continued to follow up with me as I agonized over the wedding photographer choice. I had a budget in mind when I started, knowing you shouldn't skimp here, but of course every awesome Tahoe style photographer I found was on the high end of that. The aspect of my wedding that was most important to me was the photography so I spent hours upon hours looking through the profiles and portfolios of photographers but none gave me the quality I was searching for until I found Tim Halberg. His images are so stunning and he is a joy to work with. He is a very calming presence to have on what can be a very stressful day. His love of adventure and all things fun comes out from the moment you meet him and he inspires that from everyone in front of the camera. My normally camera shy husband opened up as Tim talked with us and laughed while documenting our day. He was so professional and on top of things. Engagement photos can be kind of a weird, surreal experience, especially if you don't live your life in front of a camera. Tim was so good at creating a relaxed vibe where we felt we could let our personality as a couple shine through. He met up with us beforehand for a quick hangout, which really helped build trust and get us comfortable opening up during the actual shoot. Tim was able to capture our goofy natural interactions with beautiful framed natural backdrops. Easily one of the best decisions from our entire wedding and before! We were referred to Tim through a dear friend who is also a professional photographer. He shot her wedding, which I always recognize as no higher compliment/testament since she knows the craft as well as she does. She said, trust me YOU WILL LOVE HIM. She was right - we did LOVE Tim. Tim is the BEST! He was the photographer for our engagement session in China Camp and wedding in Healdsburg. Tim is extremely professional and on top of everything but tons of fun at the same time which made our events that much more memorable. All of our wedding party and even the guests still mention how nice and fun Tim was at our wedding which can be seen in our photos. Tim took the time to check out our venue weeks ahead of time and scouted out some beautiful shots in the vineyard. His experience and preparation allowed us to maximize time at the wedding while getting all of the shots that we wanted; and more! Taking posed shots with my severely disabled sister and some of our elderly family can be tough but Tim did a great job working with the group (during a heat spell) while staying positive and came out with tons of great photos that we will enjoy for a lifetime. Tim is the best! My husband and I always look back on our wedding photos and say "Wow Tim did such an amazing job- so GLAD we hired him!" One year later i'm still amazed at the details he captured on our wedding day. One of the great things about Tim is that he is just great to be around. Hes very calm and funny, which is very important when you are taking pictures, and he sees the big picture. We got married at my husband's parents' backyard in Santa Rosa with about 160 people. There were lots of times when we were taking photos in the backyard and after we got our pictures back I was blown away by what he took. I had no idea what he had in mind when he was clicking away, but the result was so beautiful. We had him first do our engagement photos before our wedding day, which is something I HIGHLY recommend. As someone who tends to be camera shy, with a husband who is even more shy and awkward, it was a great time to get used to being in front of the camera and for Tim to get to know us too. From day one we felt completely comfortable with him. He is not one of those photographers that need to stage every photo and use tons of props. His photos are clean, honest, and beautiful. As a bride, I have experienced working with tons of people hired to help with your wedding day. Some people are not so pleasant, and some people, you are just so thankful for. Tim is one of those. He was always prompt to respond, always friendly, and followed through with his word. The thing I love about Tim is that he's not greedy with his photos. So many photographers pressure you into buying upgraded packages so that you can have the photos you want. Not so with Tim, he understands that the wedding day is your day and included in our package digital Hi-Res files of all the photos with no hassle. That was a big plus when comparing other photographers. Here are some things you can expect with Tim as your photographer.... 1. Amazing timeless photos. Tim's photographic style is timeless because he does not use filters (think instagram) or get caught up with the latest trend. Colors are vibrant and faces are not photoshopped to look fake. I'll never get tired of looking at our album 2. Every moment captured. I could literally put together a detailed photo timeline of eveyrthing that happened that day plus moments I missed in person and details I just didnt have time to admire! 3. An organized wedding day. Tim captured all the family photos I asked him to and I hardly noticed him that day. In other words, he lets you enjoy your day while he takes care of the rest. 4. Great client service. From day one Tim took the time to listen to us both and took both of our personalities into consideration. A year later I can still ask him for advice on things like the best place to print our photos and he always responds as if he was still working with you. 5. Very reasonably priced packages. Its very daunting to hear prices quoted when trying to find a photographer. Tim worked with us to help us stay within our budget. There are many photographers out there that might charge less, but for the quality of his photos, his price is well worth it. 6. Generosity. Once you hire Tim, he doesn't hold back! We got over 400 photos from our wedding day. He doesn't charge by the hour like many photographers do. He simply does what it takes. If any one of my close friends or family needed a photographer for their big day, I would recommend Tim in a heartbeat!

I was planning a destination wedding and did some research on the knot for a photographer in CA. Came across Tim's information and fell head over heels with his photos! He contacted me asap when I submitted my request and we worked out a arrangement for him to work with us. I have corresponded with him a lot via email and he was so kind to answer all my questions. The day of the wedding I was nervous enough for everything to go well, one being the photos. As soon as I met Tim he made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. He helped me with posing ideas to ensure we had a lot of options and beautiful photos! My whole family loved working with him and I would recommend him to everyone!

My husband and I are so thankful that we found Tim to photograph our big day. It took us a lot of online searching before we fell in love with his digital portfolio. When we first met Tim we were relieved to find that he shared our preference for a laid-back, California-chill, vibe. He is the kind of guy you immediately want to grab a beer and be friends with. Of course, this was not at the sacrifice of getting the job done. After looking at Tim's stunning online portfolio, I was a little concerned that all of the photos were particularly amazing because all of the subjects look like professional models. However, I can assure you that despite being extremely sleep deprived (we are talking bags on our bags), and much to my surprise crying (happy, but not the cute kind) a ton on our big day, Tim's skills and use of light still managed to make us look amazing (and not even from heavy photoshop edits). Tim was able to give us everything we wanted out of our engagement and wedding photos while also maintaining his fun and calming presence. He immediately made us comfortable & relaxed which I think really allowed us to reflect our true personalities in the photos. He was responsive to what we wanted out of our photos, and listened to our suggestions and feedback. He even indulged us with many of our 'cliche' wedding photo requests without mocking us too much. :) Our entire wedding turned out amazing (10 times better than our expectations, even), but the #1 thing we receive compliments on are the STUNNING photos taken by Tim and his team. The photos from our engagement shoot and our big day are nothing short of EPIC, and our biggest post-wedding regret is having purchased the smallest package that didn't cover all the hours of our big day. We are so glad we will always have these precious photos to help us relive and cherish the memories of our wedding, and at the end of the day the photos are truly priceless to us.

Tim Halberg was absolutely fantastic to work with for our engagement and wedding photos. In our search for a photographer, there were three main aspects that were important to us – personality, shooting style, and of course, budget. We met with all of the photographers we considered. The biggest thing for us was how comfortable we felt around the person, especially considering how much time we were going to be spending with him/her (we had an engagement shoot and wedding events on Friday evening and all day Saturday). We met with Tim in San Francisco, a long way from his home near Sacramento, and he was really easy-going, happy, and energetic. He’s always smiling and generally thrilled to be discussing your wedding and vision you have for it. Onto style, Tim has a particular shooting style which we liked. We wanted to have someone take more of a photo-journalistic approach to get genuine emotion from us and our guests, rather than having a lot of staged portrait-style photos. He was, however, very flexible when we did request some portrait style photos before each event and post ceremony. We really appreciated his flexibility and the fact that he wanted to accommodate our requests. Our last piece of criteria was budget. Tim is very transparent about the costs and does not force packages on you like some other photographers we had met with. He is flexible and provides his recommendation of how he can stay within your budget. Overall, we definitely recommended Tim for your photographer needs. He is fun to be around, really easy to get to know, and will do an amazing job capturing your special event. He is also realistic on the turn-around time and we’ll never forget how quickly he was able to provide us with our engagement shoot images so we could use the photos in a booklet for our welcome bags – that was truly exceptional service! Our wedding photos were featured on multiple wedding blogs, as well as published in a magazine – this just proves the quality and dedication he puts into his work. We stumbled upon Tim when we were looking for a photographer and no one was available for our dates. Tim's protege actually referred us to him. Tim was new to the Roseville area and had just started to ramp up his business in the area. We looked at his portfolio online and immediately fell in love with his style. Unlike most wedding photographers, Tim actually told a story instead of just posing people. We met in person with Tim at our favorite place to have drinks "Purple Place" and loved his personality and ability to feel like he was one of the family. This alone made us want to lock him up right away. "Tim we want candid shots and we don't want to know you are at our wedding!" Well he and his wife did exactly that for 90% of our photos and the results were phenomenal. We of course still did have traditional photos, but I can not describe in words how the rest of the event was photographed. If I could add some photos to this review as proof I would. Tim is a genuinely good person that has a passion for photography. If you are considering him for your wedding, you are hands down looking at one of the best photographers I have ever come across!

We hired Tim and Cheryl to shoot our wedding. They were amazing. I've been in a handful of weddings where the photographer is very demanding and not very fun to work with. Tim and Cheryl are the exact opposite. Felt like they were both long time friends and they blended into the whole day perfectly. Can't recommend them highly enough. And the pictures were perfect. You can't go wrong with these two.

Tim captured our day beautifully. He was there for every touching moment and the pictures tell the story of the day perfectly. I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for an extremely talented wedding photographer. I recently went back through the album he created of my wedding and it still amazes me. Can't say enough good things about his work!

Choosing Tim as our photographer for our May 3rd wedding at Soda Rock was the best choice we could have made. From the very first call I had with Tim, he put me at ease and we had a great rapport. I didn't even bother looking at other photographers after that initial conversation because I had a gut feeling that he was the right choice. My husband and I were both stressed out New Yorkers, planning a wedding from 2000 miles away and had no clue what needed to happen. Tim was extremely patient with us and had worked with our venue before and we were able to plan a timeline that worked for everyone. Every shot that we set up was perfect. This is not an exaggeration. His knowledge of the property and the lighting was spot on. He even suggested that we sneak out from the reception for a bit so we could take pictures at sunset. It was well worth it. The pictures are breathtaking. Everything about the experience was calm and relaxing. I've never felt more at ease and you can see it in the photographs. I cannot imagine anyone else capturing our wedding so perfectly.

I was married in June 2014 in Sonoma Valley at Kunde Family Estate and Tim was our photographer. I can not say enough good things about Tim. He was professional and gave direction, but was laid-back and go with the flow at the same time - a perfect balance. My biggest pet peeve with photographers at weddings is when you see more of the photographer than the Bride & Groom. This was not the case with Tim and his assistant. They were unobtrusive and discreet yet still managed to provide amazing pictures that captured the essence of our wedding. We did a destination wedding and I was not able to meet Tim until the day before our wedding, however, he was great at communication and could always be reached through email or phone and showed up to every event on schedule (and even a little early). Tim has a real gift in telling a story through his pictures and if you want a professional photographer that provides amazing pictures without the fuss or stress that sometimes comes with the picture taking process, than I would highly recommend Tim Halberg Photography!

Working with Tim was great and easy! He is easy to communicate with (and fast to respond!). He specializes in Napa/Lake Tahoe weddings, and most of his posted pix are from vineyard/lake settings. However, we got married in Cabo (so he does beaches too!) and the shots are stunning. Especially the sunset ones. He helped make my destination wedding fun and relaxed while also catching great images! I love so many pictures from our wedding day and highly recommend him!

Hi everyone! This couple (literally since they are married) of photographers are so amazing beyond words. They are so annointed with their passion of photography that they are able to make the experience truly peaceful, serene and authentic. I do not know about you, but I have been a bridesmaid and wedding planner assistant and have been exposed to my share of photographers that are annoying, rude and fake. Nothing was more irritating and exhausting than a man asking the bridal party to keep saying "Yeah!" everytime they posed!!! Or a rude photographer with an attitude of "Excuse me you're in my light" and "I'm an artist, this is my vision". So trust me Mr and Mrs Halberg are humble and kind. They will completely work with you. And as a bride and now a wife I can tell you they were perfect for my husband and I because my husband is super camera shy. They made my husband feel so relaxed that he did not complain nor shy away once. He was even able to find things in common with Tim like his love for classic cars. The quality of the photos are also very up there! They are couture, dreamy, artistic, modern, professional, and just perfect! I recommend Halberg Photography to the whole wide world!

I feel so lucky to have found Tim Halberg as our wedding photographer. As someone who loves to take pictures and this being one of the greatest events of our life, having the right photographer for our wedding was so important to me. I liked the fact that being the right fit was equally important to Tim as it was to us. Our pictures turned out amazing and we had several people come up to us at the wedding telling us how lucky we were to have found our photographer after seeing some of the pics that were already being displayed on Tim's computer right there at the reception. Tim and Cheryl Halberg photographed our wedding in April 2012. It was a huge pleasure working with them, from our first email and phone conversations, to our fun engagement shoot in Palm Springs, to their beautiful work the night of our wedding. From the beginning, Tim and Cheryl placed an emphasis on getting to know us as a couple so that they could best capture our relationship on film. Both my husband and I are not so comfortable having our pictures taken, but with Tim and Cheryl, they put us such at ease that it was actually fun! And the photos turned out beautifully -- we loved their photojournalistic style that was modern and classic at the same time. We would recommend the Halbergs 1000%!

We hired Tim and Cheryl for our July 2012 wedding in Santa Barbara, CA and we couldn't be happier with the way the wedding photos (and the engagement photos too) turned out. They captured the day beautifully and did it with the utmost professionalism. My husband and I got ready in two separate locations, and they split up to able to capture both of us and our friends getting ready. They also put together an amazing photo slideshow set to our first dance song that played during the wedding reception. So many guests commented on the gorgeous photos!! They also totally went above and beyond by staying past the time they were contracted to, to get some additional reception shots. Overall, Tim was very easy to work with and responsive to emails/phone calls, and we're so happy we chose to work with them!

We selected Tim and Cheryl to photograph after our wedding coordinator recommended them. We looked at their photography on their blog and website and immediately knew that their style was what we wanted. First Tim took engagement photos for us. My husband who typically hates pictures of himself loved the photos. We took our engagement shots at the beach and Tim captured both the natural environment and us beautifully. Both Tim and Cheryl were there for our April wedding. They took so many incredible photos. They both just knew what would make an incredible shot and I was so thrilled with all my wedding photos. Everyone in our family couldn’t believe how well they turned out. I even had Cheryl design my wedding album and she has such an eye for detail. I would definitely recommend the Halberg photographers. They are professional, fun, and easy-going and their work is some of the best I have every seen.

Love these two and how they captured our wedding in Sonoma 2011. They were a breeze to work with, personable, listened to our vision and ideas and made them happen. Our engagement pictures were incredible. In hindsight, we had small issues with each of vendors (forgotten chairs, hidden fees), but none with Tim and Cheryl. Tim genuinely loves his job and it shows. The turnaround time was fast. They showed a slideshow at the reception from the pictures taken at the ceremony. The pictures were absolutely amazing! Way beyond what we were hoping for. We could not have been happier with them as our wedding photographer.

Tim Halberg and his wife, Cheryl, do an excellent job. While they are professional, they are also friendly and very easy to work with. They take the time to learn about you and the pictures you want to have taken, and lend their own personal touch to each one. Both Tim and Cheryl have an eye for detail. We are well-aquatinted with their work, as they have taken family portraits, and they photographed both our engagement and our wedding. They are our top choice for professional photographers, wedding or otherwise.

My wife and I got hitched just about a year ago in Santa Barbara. We happen to know several great wedding photographers in the area so we really had a hard time deciding who would be the best fit for our day. After much deliberation and comparing several photographers uniques style, we decided on Tim and Cheryl. They were organized on the business end of things which was really important for me. They were on time for all events, captured tons of great shots and were really easy to work with. Tim and Cheryl were great with all the guests, family members and wedding party as a whole. Lastly, they really got to know us and listened to our preferences and suggestions. This was key as we got the product we requested! I highly recommend them.

We used Tim for our December wedding last year and he rocked it! He's an incredible photographer and just an all around good guy.
