About this vendor
Featured in The New York Times Style section for my work as a DJ/saxophonist:
“When the D.J. Tim Lacatena emerged from behind the decks with a saxophone … people were losing their minds.” — The New York Times
For the past decade, my blend of live sax with DJ sets has made a lasting impact at high-end events worldwide, combining the versatility of a DJ with the appeal of a live musician. The saxophone is a distinctive element clients love that adds a one-of-a-kind signature to the event.
I’m Tim Lacatena, a Los Angeles–based international DJ and saxophonist. I’ve DJ’d hundreds of weddings worldwide—including a wedding at Villa Medici in Rome for an Italian celebrity—plus weddings in Sardinia (Italy), the Dominican Republic, NYC, San Francisco (Ferry Building), Newport (Marble House), Aspen, Telluride, and all across Southern California. With over a decade in high-end events, I've DJ’d for Super Bowl LVII, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Zouk Nightclub (Vegas), Google, Gucci, Adidas, Porsche, BMW, Space Center Houston (NASA), New Orleans Jazz Fest (Sazerac House), The Emmys, and opened for Alanis Morissette as DJ/saxophonist.
My library has over 10,000 songs from all genres and decades, and I’ll collaborate with you to craft your perfect custom soundtrack.

Review: “We are still on cloud nine after our wedding, and one of the biggest reasons is DJ Tim! From the moment the reception started, he had the perfect energy, flow, and vibe — and don’t even get us started on his saxophone playing. It was absolutely mind-blowing! The way he weaved it into the music created such a cool, dynamic atmosphere that took the party to a whole new level. Tim has an unbelievable gift for reading the room — every song felt perfectly timed, every transition seamless. He knew exactly when to turn it up, when to slow it down, and how to keep everyone engaged. He didn’t just play music — he created an experience. We had guest after guest come up to us to say how amazing he was — literally every single person had something great to say. People were dancing who never dance. The energy never dipped once all night. My wife and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. Tim truly exceeded every expectation and was a huge part of making our night so unforgettable. If you’re even thinking about hiring him — do it. Best decision we made!” - Tiffany and James | Huntington Beach, CA

Really gets the crowd going. Works well with other artists. Over all an amazing entertainer for special events. Thank you so much!
Hiring Tim to DJ my birthday party was easily one of the best things I did for that party. His communication was absolutely fantastic, he worked with my requests and responded quic...
kly even while being in a completely different timezone. When arriving to the party, he set up quickly, was extremely respectful, and read the crowd perfectly. Once we got up to dance, it was very difficult to sit back down because the mix was fantastic, and my theme was disco so he played some songs that were perfect for the occasion, and let us know that he accepted requests. I cannot express how stress-free he made things for me, I will most definitely be sharing him with my friends.

laylists requests, and kept the energy up at our event without being obtrusive or too much. It was exactly what we wanted from the DJ. And, his playlist was incredible--loved all the choices he played throughout the night. Highly recommend him as a DJ for events." - Toyota Mirai Event, Petersen Automotive Museum, LA, CA
