Getting married at Silcox Hut is everything you dream of, and more! It truly has a wow factor that's even better in person. Our coordinator Kara was so helpful, friendly, and kind from the moment we first reached out and she honestly felt like a friend at the end. Timberline's staff who handled the set-up, catering, and snowcat were phenomenal - everyone was so nice and diligent. I did not have a wedding planner and everything went smoothly and I was not stressed. So many of our family and friends commented that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We cannot thank you enough, and I can't wait to visit Timberline again!
The venue was absolutely beautiful! We had our ceremony on the patio in front of Mt. Hood. All the staff was really helpful, service was great and everyone complimented on how amazing the food was! Thank you Timberline Lodge for giving us such an amazing wedding!
Don't even think twice about choosing another venue. If you want your friends and family to be "wow'ed" go with Silcox hut. I cannot thank the crew and especially Chelsea for the amazing job they did. Having no wedding planner and hardly any free time to plan a wedding, it went incredibly smooth and I was stress free the entire time. The food was amazing. The ambiance was amazing. Friends complemented us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and I owe it all to timberline. We cannot thank you enough, and I cannot wait to spend another magical night up at Silcox Hut soon.
Had always wanted to get married at Timberline since I was young, and it was amazing. Chandra, the senior catering & sales manager, was always prompt with answering questions over email, especially considering I was largely planning my wedding while deployed overseas! They took care of so many details- even brought out blankets for our guests when the weather turned a little cooler than expected for our ceremony (which we wanted outdoors), and had backup indoor locations for the rest of the night.
We had a few points of constructive feedback for the staff (eg, we requested ice cream be brought out with the pies for reception but it didn’t happen) and Chandra was super open and receptive to our inputs- even refunded us some money as a result.
The food is fantastic here (get pies for your wedding- cake is boring! Their pastry chef is AMAZING; Timberline owns their own ranch with grass-fed cattle for beef dishes; all menu items are local/regionally sourced) and the location is absolutely magical. If you are from the Northwest, you already know the special historic significance of Timberline Lodge, but the extra care that the staff showed us during our special weekend was wonderful. Every guest we talked to loved the facilities and location and really enjoyed themselves. We didn’t want to leave!
The timberline lodge/cascade dining room events staff made our experience so easy and stress free! Chelsea was my constant sounding board for the several months leading up to our wedding! The entire experience was so surreal and memorable. We will truly never forget it.
I can't begin to tell you how perfect our wedding went. From the physical beauty of the lodge and mountain, to the incredible food and service - it was magical.
Chandra, the Timberline coordinator is the as good as they come. She is friendly, knowledgeable, creative and does everything she can to make the day special. He ability to help me create my vision and work through a crazy amount of emails and ideas was fantastic. I can't thank her enough for her part in our wedding.
The lodge itself is historical and beautiful. We used three of their facilities, Silcox Hut for our rehearsal dinner, Raven's Nest for our ceremony and Ullman Hall for the reception. The rooms are beautiful, clean and have the most incredible views. We worked hard to ensure that we had light on the mountain for our ceremony and we got the most beautiful alpine glow at 5pm and sunset at 5:30pm - perfect times for sunset in February.
I have zero complaints. Our entire experience was amazing. Thank you Timberline!
Our wedding at Timberline lodge was an absolute dream. Chandra, the event coordinator at Timberline, helped us organize and plan for the big day so that things flowed seamlessly. The historic lodge is such a special place, and the backdrop is kind of magical. All of our guests had an absolutely wonderful time. With living nearby in Portland, it was the perfect place for a local wedding with a destination feel.
We had the most amazing wedding at Timberline Lodge this past August! It is such a beautiful and amazing place and everyone I worked with at the lodge were just fantastic. We got married on the patio behind the lodge with beautiful Mt Hood in the background. We were lucky and had fantastic weather. Our cocktail hour was on the patio outside the Ullman Room and the reception was in the Ullman Room. The food was just amazing and the service was spectacular. It was a destination wedding, so I had to do most of the planning over email and everyone was so great to work with and always got back to me. Our guests had such a great time staying at the Lodge or down in Government Camp. They kept raving about the beautiful setting, really awesome historic lodge, and wonderful staff and food. Just a fantastic experience and such a special wedding day.
This review is for our August wedding at Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge. The minor negatives - the lodge itself is chaotic and packed with tourists during the summer, so the lodge staff seemed overwhelmed and we had a couple of issues with our room. Planning was difficult at times, possibly because we had a small wedding and it was peak wedding season. I don't want to detract from our overall experience and the many wonderful people that we interacted with - although the weeks and months preceding the wedding were a bit arduous at times, the wedding day itself was spectacular.
Silcox Hut was an absolutely amazing place to get married. There were no reviews for summer weddings up there, so I had no idea what to expect. The answer: a perfect wedding, awed guests, fantastic views, and a gorgeous sunset. It did get a little toasty in the hut, as they have the fire lit for ambiance, but no one seemed to mind beyond a passing observation. Each and every member of the staff were wonderful – accommodating, helpful, and friendly (Steve Buchan, the Silcox coordinator, in particular – loads of compliments from our friends and family about how great he was). The food by far exceeded our expectations. It was truly first class, and there was plenty of it. The day really does run like clockwork at Silcox. They’ve got it down to a science and they know what they’re doing. Steve assured us that we were in good hands, and he was 100% correct. If you’re having a small wedding or elopement, we would highly recommend booking Silcox Hut as your venue. The wedding day itself was absolutely magical.
Timberline Lodge is the most beautiful ski lodge we have ever been to, we knew right away that our winter wedding had to be there. We were coming from out of state and the staff was so easy to work with! Everything was taken care of with the package including linens, set up, chairs, food, drinks, and some decorations. Everything was set exactly how we had asked when we walked into our wedding space, and we even made some last minute adjustments that they were able to make for us with no complaints. We could not have had a better day, our guests raved about the views and the food, and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend them for your wedding, not many decorations are even needed since the lodge is so beautiful!
What an amazing venue! The Silcox Hut is a beautiful place for an intimate wedding (40 guests allowed total). You arrive to the Silcox Hut via snowcat from the Timberline Baselodge ... which was incredible. The food was out of this world (a little pricey but totally worth it)!! And, you also have the option for you and 24 of your guests to stay in the lodge overnight. It was so much fun to be able to wake up to the smell of fresh coffee and waffles the next morning!
We had our wedding on 1/25/14 at Timberline Lodge, and I can't say enough great things about our experience. My husband and I LOVED the venue from even before we got engaged -- and both of us, as well as our families, were thrilled with the spaces available to us for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. What's more, the Timberline staff went above and beyond our considerably high expectations to make sure the day went off flawlessly. On top of the excellent service, the food was fantastic!
Timberline is BEAUTIFUL, and we lucked out with weather having a gorgeous day in the middle of March! Planning was never so easy, food was delicious and the staff was great throughout the whole day.
The venue speaks for itself, the lodge is historic and surroundings gorgeous. We worked with Chandra, she was always quick to respond, friendly, and organized. We found it very easy to plan with their team. They did a great job with both setup and cleanup. F&B was great, nothing ran out, and all the guests were happy. The whole event was perfect.
Timberline is a busy place in the summertime. Make sure your guests reserve a place to stay early! (Like the previous winter.)
We got married up at Silcox Hut and its beautiful! All the staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is AMAZING! It makes for a gorgeous winter wedding in the snow.
