My husband and I could not possibly have been happier with the work of Timothy Lee Photographers when they shot our wedding. First of all, when we met Tim and Lydia (the husband an...
d wife team behind the business), they were immediately friendly, warm and easy to talk to, answering all of my questions. And to be honest, their beautiful photographs spoke for themselves.
We were looking for photographers who would serve at documentarians – we didn’t want a lot of posed photos, but we did want our photographers to capture every moment of the wedding. It was also important to us to find photographers we could be comfortable with personally, since they would be spending so much time with us on our wedding day. Lydia and their associate photographer Dakota were with us on the actual day, and they were both delightful to have around, though we barely noticed them - they didn't direct or interrupt us at any point, but they still didn't miss a thing.
Our photographs came out absolutely amazingly. Everyone who has seen them just raves about how beautiful they are. There are so many little moments they were able to capture, and looking through them is like seeing a perfect documentary of a perfect day. We were so happy on our wedding day and the photos reflect that so well. Each shot seriously looks like a work of art.
Timothy Lee Photographers are clearly driven by their passion for artistic, unique, exceptional photography. You will not be disappointed with their work!
We were married in Oct 2011 in downtown Manhattan, and it was a beautiful 12 hour event which Tim and Lydia meticulously captured. After interviewing 12 different photographers wit...
hin a wide range of fees, experience and style, we decided on Tim and Lydia because of their ability to capture some of the most private and heartfelt moments without compromising their unique photo-journalistic style. In addition, they work seamlessly as a team, so you are not getting an assistant but a pair of talented people who take tremendous pride in their work product and you know you are in good hands. Tim stayed with my girls and me at the venue while Lydia met with the boys at a barbershop in the East Village during the preparations and they stayed until the last dance. Never did they make their presence known, they were just there, silently observing and quietly capturing all the moments. At the end, when I look though the photos, its both overwhelming and emotional, its almost like watching a gorgeous silent film. Their professionalism exceeded our expectations and was noted by all of our guests and we are so happy that we shared our special day with Tim and Lydia.

Tim and Lydia did an amazing job shooting our engagement and wedding photos in New York City in 2010-11. College friends who used them for their Hamptons we...
dding personally recommended them to us. The results of Tim and Lydia's photos speak for themselves. They show the technical expertise you expect from well-trained professionals combined with an artistic virtuosity and journalistic sensibility that’s unique to them. They have an impressively fast trigger finger, which is so important for capturing candid once-in-a-lifetime moments and feelings that appear and disappear in milliseconds. Also, Tim and Lydia are discrete and unobtrusive. They have a knack for getting their subjects to loosen up and relax, which, in turn, yields better results.
We interviewed several high potential and well-known wedding photographers. Tim and Lydia were far above the competition not only in terms of their photographs, but also in terms of their integrity and professionalism. Many of the competitors’ photographs looked canned by comparison. Others also made the mistake of defining their work parochially with pre-set caps written into their contracts about the hours spent, photos shot in digital vs. film, and shots delivered in hi-definition vs. low-definition and extra fees charged for overtime, photos shot in film, and photos delivered in hi-def respectively. During the interviewing, I asked Tim about this directly. What he said stood-out: He and Lydia cover events in their entirety without regard to “punching the clock.” They delivered on that promise 110%. (To my surprise Tim showed-up at my door several hours before the wedding ceremony to take pictures of me going about my day, i.e., chowing-down on a deli sandwich, shining my shoes, shaving, donning my wedding suit and tying my best Windsor knot. Meanwhile, Lydia – like the wartime correspondent she isn’t but could be – embedded herself with the bride’s party at the hotel suite where they prepped and preened for the big event. In all, Tim and Lydia were with us through the early morning hours as the last sweaty wedding guests peeled themselves from the dance floor.) So too, Tim told us that whether they shoot in film vs. digital is a function of creative context; sometimes it makes sense to shoot in one format and sometimes in another. This is such a better artistically authentic answer than what we heard from the competition. Here too the results speak for themselves. Tim and Lydia provided an abundance of photos in both formats. Finally, regarding hi-def vs. low-def, this wasn’t even an issue. The conclusion I drew is that the competition want to keep the photos in low-def so we would be required to go back to them for hi-def printing.
Tim and Lydia are at the top of their game in terms of their creative talents and at the top of the heap in a highly competitive field.
