I would highly recommend Toftrees as a wedding venue! We were so impressed by the entire Toftrees staff throughout the wedding weekend. They went above and beyond to ensure everything went well. The venue coordinator, Katie Clegg, was phenomenal. She was always extremely responsive, professional, and helpful throughout the planning process. There is no need to hire an external day-of coordinator, since Katie and her team really do it all! She ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the day and was a pleasure to work with. The outdoor ceremony space is beautiful, the natural lighting in the reception room made for some wonderful photos, and our guests loved the food. The hotel rooms are a bit outdated, but they will be renovating soon. Overall, we had a great experience!

We had a ceremony to share our vows and a reception at Toftrees to celebrate with our friends and family, and could not possibly recommend the venue and staff at Toftrees more. The entire staff at Toftrees was incredibly kind and so well organized. From beginning to end, they went above and beyond to ensure that every single aspect of our day was exactly what we wanted. They truly ensure that you do not have a single thing to worry about when it comes to decorations, favors, gifts, etc. They spend the time to ensure that all details are beautiful and really help you throughout the overwhelming number of decisions that you have as a couple when it comes to the reception and ceremony organization. The food was amazing from appetizers to the main course - our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious it all was. We're so glad that we had our celebration at Toftrees!

The event staff at Toftrees went above and beyond for our Wedding! We had both the ceremony and reception there, and not only was it a breathtaking ceremony space and amazing reception room, but the staff were so friendly and helpful. My husband and I had to plan our wedding from 900 miles away and Toftrees helped with everything down to sending us a list of trusted vendors. Katie was amazing to work with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. There's a few different options to choose from on where you want to have your ceremony and reception which is also nice in case it rains. We also had our rehearsal dinner there on the terrace which was so nice to overlook where we'd be getting married the next day, and the food is really good!

We had our wedding at Toftrees Golf Resort and they were so organized and helpful through the entire weekend. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. A big thank you to Katie for helping us plan our wedding and staying the entire evening to make sure everything went perfectly. She has a wedding reception down to a science and was so kind to bring us food from our cocktail hour and make sure we ate first so we could go around and greet our guests. Also during set up my mom raved at how wonderful Katie was to work with and get everything together. Thank you for hosting our special day! All of our guests loved the weekend spent at Toftrees and said how delicious the food was all weekend too.

I cannot recommend getting married at Toftrees enough. It was the PERFECT location for my husband and I for our late fall wedding! We just got married on October 26th, and 5 days later, I am on The Knot to tell you why you should get married here. Katie is the wedding/event coordinator for Toftrees and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is professional, kind, easy to get along with, and super organized. My husband and I planned our wedding on our own (no family or friend near to help) which left us feeling like we had a lot of questions. I know that I constantly felt like I was forgetting something -- but with Katie/Toftrees, that is literally impossible because she sets you up for success. If we were unsure or on the fence about a decision, she wouldn't push her opinion on you until you asked for what she thought would be best. Every time we had a meeting/email/call, she treated me as if I was her only bride. She always had answers, but was happy to look further into making adjustments if we needed them. Every staff member I came in contact with was delightful and helpful. I also think it is important to note that we had a LOT of out of town guests, and they all had nothing but positive things to say about their experience! Once again, GET MARRIED AT TOFTREES! You will not regret it!

We recently had our wedding at Toftrees and it was fantastic! The staff was very courteous and helpful to us and our guests during our time there. Katie Clegg was absolutely amazing as the day of coordinator and helped us at every step of the way with planning. We had our ceremony on the lawn and our reception in the Aspen room, both of which were stunning! The food was delicious and the bar service was great all night. Our guests had a great time and we couldn’t have been happier with our special day!

We absolutely loved this venue! It was absolutely perfect with gorgeous views for the cocktail hour outside on the terrace. The staff was extremely accommodating to me and my husband on our wedding day along with our guests. Communication from their wedding coordinator was exceptional from the time we booked up until even after the event was finished.

Toftrees was amazing! The food was very good and the staff was extremely professional. The grounds are gorgeous to take photos on. However, the best thing about Toftrees is Katie Clegg. She is the day-of coordinator and is extremely organized, attentive to detail, and accommodating with everything you could need. I can't imagine how our wedding day would have gone without her!

Toftrees was the perfect place for our State College wedding. Katie and her team made sure everything was perfect and the accessibility to hotel rooms was key for all of our out of town guests. Our guests loved the variety of spaces to chill and hang out throughout the whole day and pictures on the lawn and veranda were beautiful. For any seafood lovers, the lobster bisque and Chilean sea bass were crowd favorites. Toftrees has more character and costs less than many other options in the area. If you are looking for a great option is Central PA, I can’t say enough good things

Toftrees provided a beautiful and amazing venue for our wedding reception! The space was perfect for us! Katie is the wedding planner who organizes everything with Toftrees. Let me tell you SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She was so wonderful to work with- Extremely organized, and she made sure EVERYTHING was perfect! In addition, she was extremely prompt with answering any questions I had! We live in Pittsburgh, so communication was key to organizing a wedding 2.5 hours away, and Katie helped us through the whole process! Definitely recommend this space for your reception!! Note: we did not have our ceremony here because we wanted to get married on campus at Penn State HOWEVER the wedding ceremony space on the golf course is absolutely beautiful and had we not wanted to get married on campus we would have definitely had the ceremony here!

Toftrees was the perfect venue for our wedding (especially as two Penn State alumni)! The grounds were beautiful in late July, and the staff could not have been more pleasant and eager to help everyone. Our guests loved the seamless transition Toftrees provides by having the ceremony and reception places side by side (and rooms only an elevator ride away!). Guests also loved the pool, golfing and on-site restaurant... a one stop shop. Our guests continue to comment how beautiful the Aspen Room looked, and even though it rained on our wedding day, we were still thrilled with the ceremony backup rain plan under the tent, which is not always the case! Katie Clegg was our Sales Manager, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was professional, prompt in communications, and offered a ton of flexibility in terms of menu options and wedding day logistics. Katie was extremely detailed orientated from the beginning and didn't miss a beat in planning. She was thoughtful and helpful, and her entire wait staff, captains, chefs, etc. were so pleasant and true professionals. We were so lucky to have had her help and leadership in planning our wedding. We highly recommend working with Katie Clegg and Toftrees for your special day!

I couldn't have asked for a better venue for our reception. The Aspen Room is beautiful, and there are so many things included in the package like table numbers and centerpieces that we didn't have to spend extra money or time worrying about the small details. Katie, the wedding coordinator, was very helpful and easy to communicate with when planning our reception. The food was great, the bartenders kept the drinks coming quickly all night long, and several of our guests told us that Toftrees was the best wedding reception venue they've ever been to.

We loved our wedding at Toftrees! Beautiful setting, great staff, and everything was set up perfectly! Having everything in one place made it perfect for the guests and easy for vendors in the area to set up as well. The only thing we noticed was the staff cleared drinks away immediately, sometimes only after a few sips. Our final bar bill was extreme, and we heard from multiple guests that they set their drink down for a second and it was picked up. I don't know how to avoid this, other than set up a table for 'dance floor drinks' that the staff can't touch. Other than that the wedding was great.

Loved working with Ashley at Toftrees. We booked over a year in advance and Ashley helped us plan every step of the way! Our wedding day was perfect for us, and our guests were treated with the ultimate professionalism. Everyone loved how friendly and helpful the staff was.

Toftrees was a very nice place for a wedding reception. Le Papillon and Napoleon's Retreat were beautiful and romantic rooms. Many of my guests stayed at Toftrees too. The front desk people were extremely patient and helpful. No complaints from me. I'm a very happy bride.

Absolutely thrilled with this venue for our wedding. Everything from the ceremony to the food and drinks was perfect. Our guests loved the venue as well. It is so nice that you really don't even have to decorate it too much! Would recommend this venue to anyone getting married in State College, PA.

Ashley Huey, our wedding coordinator was awesome. She was very professional and clearly worked very hard on our ceremony and reception. We had a sit down dinner and cocktail hour and the food was very good and the servers did a very good job. However, the hotel itself is what I had a problem with. The staff neglected to give out overnight bags to our out of town guests that were checking into rooms and did not tell them that there was a breakfast that they were invited to. I was told this information would be given to them, and maybe about 25% of the guests were given their bags and informed of the breakfast. There was no A/C on during the reception and it was very very hot. The day after the wedding we had family swimming in the pool and our 5 year old niece sat along side the pool and accidentally sat in chemical spillage. She had to be taken to the emergency room with terrible chemical burns on her legs and bottom.

They exceeded our expectations in every aspect of our day and I would recommend this location for both the ceremony and reception! Toftrees has a great team who really puts their clients first! (First of all, this place is in State College, PA, and not Pittsburg as this website says! State College is about 3 hours’ drive from Pittsburg.) We had our wedding on July 1st, 2012 at Toftrees resort and conf. center. It was wonderful, and if we were to do it again, we'll not change it. On a cursory look, the place is a little more expensive than a lot of other places, especially because we have to use their in-house catering (except for the cake). Though we got married on a Sunday, which was less expensive than a Saturday in June. But it is a peace of mind to have everything taken care of. They provided everything imaginable, including cake knives and candles, and basic decoration; and even some of the last moment things that came up. Setting up and tearing down/clean-up is also included in the cost. All we had to do was give them everything that we wanted for decoration / program schedule / menu, etc. (or tell the vendors like florists to bring them in), and tell them where we want stuff to be, and they'd do it for us. The staff was very efficient, and our sales-representative, Christine, worked really hard to make sure everything was going well. Her position is sales manager, but she basically worked as the wedding coordinator. They were very efficient in returning each item to the person/vendor it came from. We didn't really need much of a decoration because the croquet lawn where we had the ceremony and the "Le papillon" where we had the reception are quite pleasing to start with. This saved us a lot in terms of decoration. The catering was very good, and they allowed us to give them our own recipes that they made to perfection. They didn't charge us extra for the changes! The only hitch was that the card-keys for the gathering room expired before mid-night (it was booked until then); and we had to get it re-activated after the reception. A tiny hitch in a wedding! The complementary deluxe guest room was great, and hubby and I enjoyed the Jacuzzi before a long and awesome day! They have ample parking, and they can also bring old or disabled guests on golf carts to the venue from parking lot. The place is beautiful, and if you have an out-door wedding at the croquet lawn, they have an alternative rain-venue just up the stairs in the balcony (where the hors-d'oeuvres are set up). Overall, we would highly recommend this venue for your wedding (or any other occasion).

The food was in a buffet, but it was wonderful. It was constantly being refilled. Their staff were wonderful about clearing plates and refilling drinks without being intrusive. Amazing service!

We were very skeptical of Toftrees when we first met with the coordinator and she was now where near that service level we were paying for. She quit 10 days prior to our wedding and it was the best possible thing that could have happened. We dealt with Becky after the first woman left and Becky was delightful to work with. She carried off our day without a hitch and there were no unexpected surprises during the day. It was wonderful. We did have one snag at the front desk with my parents' room reservation but it was all cleared up and the girls at the front desk were very helpful. Overall, we were extremely happy with the day and brunch the next morning. The food was great and they employees were nothing beyond wonderful to deal with. Several of our guests played golf the day of the wedding and enjoyed the course. We also hosted a brunch the morning after the wedding and the banquet staff was so nice. They had put away our cake, the girls bouquets and other items and brought them back out during the brunch without question. So sweet.

My husband and I are very glad that we chose Toftrees as our reception site for our May 2011 wedding. We weren't sure that we would be able to afford this venue, but Christine (The Sales and Catering Manager) met with us and helped us get exactly what we envisioned for our wedding day within our budget. We had a few bumps along the way to the wedding, including the hotel staff telling our guests that our block was full when it wasn't, but once these things got worked out everything went smoothly. Christine was great the day of the wedding! Everything was exactly the way we wanted it, and Christine made sure that my husband and I, along with our immediate family and wedding party, had everything that we needed. We would definitely recommend Toftrees to anyone planning their reception in State College.

We used Toftrees for our wedding. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and there are a lot of things included as well. The food was outstanding, and we were permitted to use (included in the packages) candles, cake servers, card box, table numbers, white linens, and a few other things that I can't think of at the moment. The coordinator was great for the day of, but was a bit hard to get in touch with for the planning stages. Overall, it is a bit expensive, especially the alcohol. If you choose this venue, make sure to get all alcohol prices in writing before signing a contract.

The croquet lawn is a great place for an outdoor wedding! After the ceremony guests can head right up to the balcony ('Napoleon's Retreat') for cocktails. It was really nice to have our wedding and reception all in one place.;The hotel rooms at Toftrees are a little dated, but they are going to be renovating the hotel soon.
