Slava was an absolute gem to work with! He was an excellent teacher and choreographer and we would recommend him to any couple who wants to make their first dance something special!!
My husband and I wanted to do something special for our wedding dance not just hug and sway. Since neither of us knew how to dance, we decided to take dance lessons. We found Michael Petroski from Top Hat Dance. Michael was great and understood exactly what we were trying to do. In addition to his 5-dance lesson wedding package we took a couple more individual classes just because we enjoyed it so much! He was able to explain and convey in an easy-to-understand way the moves and techniques needed to get the basic steps. By the third lesson we started to introduce spins and more complicated moves with the final lessons focused on putting it all together and finishing the choregraphing of our dance. Not only did we have a great first dance, but we have been able to remember and to use the moves since. We kept our dance lessons a secret to guests at the wedding, so they were all pleasantly surprised and said we looked BEAUTIFUL!!! As Beginners we highly recommend Michael to anyone who wants to look great during their first dance or get into organized dancing!
We signed up for wedding dance lessons with Michael at Top Hat…not just my wife and me but also my mother and FIL for the mother/son and father/daughter dances. He was AMAAAAZING to work with, all four of us would go together and those were some of my favorite Sunday afternoons. He was patient and explained things super well, meeting us where we were ability wise. He also taught us useful basics that we could take with us to the dance floor on any occasion. My wife has a bit of a dance background which she was able to showcase in our dances while still keeping it manageable for her dad. Taking lessons here was one of the best decisions of our wedding, thank you Michael!

So grateful we did these dance lessons with Michael Petroski before our wedding! My wife and I had ZERO experience dancing together, but he was able to create a really manageable lesson package that had us wowing our wedding guests! The photos of our dance are some of my absolute favorite from our wedding. It was really fun to do the lessons leading up to the wedding too! It was a great excuse to spend time together and enjoy learning something new. Michael made the whole thing really easy & fun - it was 1000% worth the cost!!
At first we were unsure if we wanted to do dance lessons because we thought they would be a waste of money but we were SOO wrong. Taking wedding dance lessons with Michael made one of the top highlights of our wedding. Not only did we crush our wedding dance and leave our guests in awe, but we had SOOO MUCH FUN taking the classes. Michael is kind, passionate, and very personable. I love how he also reminds you to breathe (which I needed a lot of reminding). I highly recommend you book lessons for your wedding with Michael. You will not regret it. We loved it so much we might come back just for fun :)

We did the 5 hour wedding dance lessons with Michael! He was patient, detailed, and helpful through all of the lessons. We had a lot of fun at the lessons and always looked forward to our date nights in the middle of all of the crazy wedding planning. We got compliments on our dance all night long - it was perfect! Highly recommend Michael and Top Hat Dance Studio!
We did the 5 lesson wedding package and it was one of the best decisions we made for the wedding! Michael was a fantastic instructor. We had a 5 lesson package with Michael to prepare a dance for our wedding and it was the best decision we made! I had prior dance experience, but my husband did not so Michael played around with both of our skill sets to make both of us comfortable and created a beautiful routine. We had so much fun dancing at our wedding for our guests and everyone LOVED it! I had so many questions after the wedding about where we went for lessons. We worked with Michael over 4 lessons to help us prepare for our first dance at our wedding and he could not have been more patient or helpful for amateurs like us! He helped us slowly work our way up from one dance move to a whole routine that was a huge success on our special day. I can't say enough nice things about our experience at Top Hat Dance Studio. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. My husband and I took dance lessons for our wedding. We worked with Michael, and he was fabulous! He even helped us incorporate a fun, mashup in the middle of our first dance. I highly recommend Top Hat Dance Studio for any dance lessons needed! The pricing was also very reasonable!
My fiancé and I decided we wanted to have a nice choreographed first dance. We have never taken a dance class in our life so, needless to say, we were nervous! Our instructor Mike was amazing. He helped calm those jitters, while teaching us how to dance. He was patient, kind, and an excellent instructor all around. We are even considering coming back for some lessons, just for fun, after our wedding. 10/10 would recommend.

I wanted to write a review and say how awesome Top Hat Dance Studio was and especially our instructor Michael. They were so accommodating to our crazy schedule and Michael was so easy to work with! We had our magical day, and we did our dance successfully and I can honestly reflect back and say taking dance lessons were 10000x worth it! It gave us the confidence we needed, and it taught us to do those wedding dance moves you commonly see, and we felt like a million bucks out there on the dance floor. Everyone loved our dance and song and we couldn’t have done it without Michael! We have one more lesson left in our package, but we plan on doing some more lessons on top of that cause it is just a lot of fun and great way to connect to your partner!

My wife and I decided to take dance lessons in order to prepare for our wedding. After calling around to a few places, we settled on Top Hat dance studio, and are very glad we did. Mike at Top Hat Dance Studio was an amazing teacher that made our first dance become simple and elegant. I signed up for wedding dance lessons with my fiance, Ian, to practice for our first dance and also with my dad to practice for our father-daughter dance. This was double the lessons for me, but gave me quite a bit of experience at the dance studio to base my review on! Michael was our instructor and he was amazing. My dad was pretty nervous about dancing at all, and Michael was very patient and encouraging. He had a great method of teaching for beginners. This man has a gift! When it came to me and my fiance, he was thorough in teaching us many dance moves we could use, but also excellent in reminding us what would really make for a meaningful first dance--that we were in the moment with each other. Top Hat Dance Studio's wedding dance lessons are totally worth it. I loved both dances at my wedding. I also love having the memory and experience of attending the dance lessons with Ian and my dad in the months before the wedding.

My husband and I did not have any dance experience before but we were very excited about our first dance. So we wanted to make it special and searched for wedding dance lessons. We initially tried another dance studio. And after the lesson, we felt hesitant about the dance and lost our excitement. Then, we found Top Hat and had our wedding dance lessons with Michael. After meeting with Michael and having our first lesson, we gained our confidence to dance. Micheal is very patient, super fun and sweet. We chose a Turkish song for our wedding in Turkey and he created a beautiful choreography for us. He took his time to show each move patiently until we got it. We actually looked forward to our lessons and had so much fun at our wedding. And now, we are thinking to try other types of dance at Top Hat. This was such a great experience. A friend of mine got us dance lessons as an engagement gift because she knew how much I loved dancing and that my fiance didn't know how to AT ALL. Michael was our instructor and he was so patient, fun and very easy to work with. Our schedules were hectic and he made it very easy to schedule even later during the week nights to insure we got our lessons in. The day of our wedding, our first dance was great and everyone loved it! We just learned the very basic fox trot, a few spins and an ending, but it was simple, classic and perfect for what we were looking for! I would highly recommend Top Hat Dance Studios if you're looking for some lessons before your big day, and definitely request Michael as your instructor if you can!

My husband and I had so much fun with this experience. We had our lessons with Michael and we can’t thank him enough for such a memorable part of our wedding. We had the pleasure of working with Michael for our first dance. We had a quirky song and Michael was just PERFECT! Neither of us are at even a beginner level of dance! What an incredible place! So unpretentious and the best instructor, Nina Feldman. Clean, spacious, and a welcome environment where even the least coordinated person (like me) is lovingly accepted. Nina's lessons brought my husband, Ted and me so much closer and in a much better position to feel relaxed while dancing at our daughter's wedding. She has such patience and is a lovely woman. I really feel that I am a better dancer and a happier person thanks to Top Hat Dance Studio! There were classes closer to our home, but Top Hat is definitely worth the trip!

Slava was our first dance instructor and we really enjoyed working with him! We picked two unique Ukrainian songs that he never did a dance for before, but he listened very carefuly to all of our wishes. There was a combination of a slow and fast dance so the choriography was not easy, but Slava was very patient with us since we are both very new to the dancing world. Their prices for wedding dance package is also very reasonable compare to other studios.

My now husband and I were absolutely delighted with our experience! We worked with Michael who was so pleasant, patient and flexible. In the course of our 5 lesson package, we learned five or six steps, an intro, an ending and a trick. We loved the loose structure and not having to remember a strict routine on the day of. The package was affordable and a great value for the amount we learned. Our guests were so impressed and I'm thrilled we no longer have to do the middle school sway every time a slow song comes on. Five stars!
We initially worked with Ginny, who left Philly not long after our lessons started, and we ended up working primarily with Michael. Michael was always willing to listen to our ideas and give great input for our dance. He was a great choreographer, especially considering our song was trickier than most ( it was LOVE by Nat King Cole, and we were ambitious in what we wanted to do!)
We ended up getting tons of compliments on our first dance, and it was one of our favorite things at the wedding!
Really great. We took lessons with Ginny for our first dance, because we wanted it look professional, and she did a wonderful job. She was really patient with us and personable as well. Their wasn't anything too difficult, she definitely kept it at a beginners level for us. I would highly recommend this dance studio!
We took lessons with Michael and opted for the wedding package with five lessons. We took lessons for our first dance. We picked our song prior to starting lessons. The studio was very flexible with scheduling lessons. We spaced out the lessons so we had time to practice. The more we practiced, the more steps we were able to learn! I would take lessons here again!
We found Top Hat Dance studio after taking a "complimentary" lesson at a studio downtown, really liking it, but really
not liking the prices.
Michael became our instructor at Top Hat and I'm going to miss him! Michael was so patient with me and my now husband. I wouldn't say we were the worst dancers that had ever stepped onto a dance floor when we started but neither of us had ever done that type of coordinated ballroom style dance before. Michael worked with us and helped us get the steps right and the moves to flow. After 5 classes we were looking pretty good!!
The guests at our wedding were pretty impressed with out first dance and it felt so good to have put the effort into making our first dance as man and wife so special.
I'd highly recommend taking classes with Michael at Top Hat if you want to wow on the dance floor!
My husband and I used the wedding dance package to learn the waltz for our first song. We were so happy with our instructor Michael! First, the pricing of the package was very reasonable, especially when we compared it with other studios nearby. We had five one hour lessons. Michael did a great job of gradually adding more steps each week until we had a nice variety of steps to make our dance look polished! And this is coming from two people who have never been very good dancers and certainly knew nothing coming into the lessons. It was also a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure. At the stressful time of wedding planning, my husband and I really enjoyed taking this time out of our week for ourselves.
We worked with Michael at the Leola, PA location of Top Hat. My dad and I took about 5 lessons before the wedding for our dance and Michael worked with us every time. He choreographed a few easy steps for us to do, and walked us through them and practiced with us multiple times. It was a fun experience!
Chris and I had the pleasure of working with Michael. He was a great intructor who really worked with us to perfect our wedding dance.
Additionally I worked with Michael on a motown medley dance with my godfather. He did a great job!
We took dance lessons at Top Hat dance studio and definitely recommend it to every bride and groom. We took a 6 week group class and finished up with an individual session. On our big day we felt comfortable dancing with each other and everyone was so impressed with our new moves! Definitely check out Top Hat studio! They were all so friendly, supportive, and professional.
My dad and I took 5 hours of private lessons prior to the wedding with Top Hat. I had received a discount for attending a bridal show, but even their normal prices are reasonable. Our instructor really pushed us, and while our dance wasn't perfect the day of, we had an absolute blast learning. I highly recommend Michael and the rest of the staff!
Oh - and some advice if you're considering lessons, start early and buy multiple packages (or attend the group classes!) - it's harder than it looks.
We scheduled classes at Top Hat a month before our wedding. They were so great about getting us in for the solo classes and their packages are affordable and reasonable. Our instructor was funny and patient and it was generally enjoyable to be there. The only down is that sometimes you have to practice with another couple in the room but it's not so bad once you get over it.
Ginny was fantastic - she choreographed our entire dance and worked with us on parent dances. She was creative and took to our non-traditional wedding song.
