We had our rehearsal dinner at Torc on 9/7/18 and we were really excited to eat here after seeing all the amazing reviews. We had not eaten here before since we were coming from out of town and clearly that was a mistake. First off - we had a preset menu for 38 people starting at 6pm. We got there about ten minutes early, and I even called giving them the heads up and it wasn't an issue. Once we got to the room, we had about 3 servers to wait on us- however NO ONE was waiting on us. I had to personally go up to two of them and ask if they could start taking our drink orders. This took quite some time. They finally came around with drinks and didn't bring mine- which wasn't a big deal, I simply asked again. It never came, until finally on of my friends had to walk down to the bar to grab me one. We had one plated cheese board which was very good but we also selected 4 apps to be passed. Again,I had to ask the waiters where the apps were. We had been there about 35-40 minutes or so, and again this menu was preset with our numbers so one would assume the appetizers would be served in a timely fashion, but it wasn't. Once the apps finally did arrive, they placed them on the cheese station, however at this point everyone was sitting. So again once I saw people being to stand up and sit down repeatedly- I asked them if they could pass the apps instead. We received our first course which was the tomato/burrata salad which was excellent. One of the best salads I've had, so I was expecting our entrees to be the same. At about 7:45 we received our entrees (lemon chicken/cod) and they were good but I thought they were both pretty dry, along with other guests. With dinner, alcohol, and apps it came out to about $165 a person. So paying that kind of money at a restaurant in Napa, people are expecting something way better, especially for our table service. It seemed as though this was the staff's first rehearsal dinner, I'm really not sure why it was so lacking but it was definitely a disappointment. Luckily dessert and coffee were just as good as the first course, but would I eat there again- unfortunately no.
