They have a $5000 site fee to use the property, but they also require you to use a few of their vendors as well, because they have a very close relationship with them and those ven...
dors know Torne Valley like the back of their hand, so everything goes smoothly without a hitch.
You are required to rent bathrooms that are luxury bathrooms that are brought in by a trailer, and they are extremely nice and well worth it. That is mostly because the house only has 2 or 3 bathrooms and aren't enough for a reception full of guests.
You are also highly encouraged (just about required) to use their wedding supply rental company, Prestige, and their caterer, Encore Catering. Both were incredible. They do not nickle and dime, but they do protect their reputations as high-quality, high-class, professional vendors, so they do make suggestions based on their experience of working at Torne Valley and what works best. The cost is not cheap, but you really do get the highest possible value for the dollar you spend. People told us that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding before... many people.
They also require you use their Valet service for more than 20 cars because there is very limited parking. The Valet was only $900 and they did a great job.
David Weber, the main contact and organizer of the vineyard, was extremely helpful in helping us plan out the flow of the wedding, how people generally move around the house during cocktail hour, and was great is presenting all of the options for what we could have. At first he's a little hard to get in touch with because they are growing in popularity quickly and he's organizing a ton of different events, but once you set up your meeting and visit the property, he's all in and was in constant communication with us all the way through.
A couple tips if you do decide to have your wedding here:
- If guests are driving and using the valet, make up some some with battery-powered lights on it to put out front. The turn to get onto Torne Brook Road is easily missed.
- The tent is beautiful, but also does not have a floor besides the dance floor, so it's grass. So if it rains, it could be a little damp and it was nice because we had flip-flops for ladies to dance with if they wanted to take off their heels.
- The only real way for someone in a wheelchair to get to the restroom is the one inside, and they need to go up a ramp on the side of the house. So it's not extremely fast for them to get there.
- If it rains, they will require a second tent on the patio if you have too many people to fit inside the house, which is an extra expense to Prestige.
- If it's cold, they will require heaters for the tent, which is an extra expense to Prestige.
- They require you at least use some of their Torne Valley Vineyards wine to serve at the wedding. They are a vineyard, after all, so that makes sense. You don't have to use it exclusively, but you should at least buy a case or two out of respect for what they do.
Brass Tax:
- $5000 site fee + some wine
- Prestige, initial estimate is $35/person and any upgrades are additional
- Encore Catering ended up being $86/person for a buffet-style
Definitely go with Torne Valley!!
What a beautiful place to have a wedding! Both the house and grounds were perfect for our outdoor September wedding. The wedding had a rustic, secluded feel, while still being cl...
ose to major highways & hotels. We had full access to the grounds and home and the general manager was extremely flexible. I highly recommend this venue. My only word of caution is to get all of the information up front regarding costs. We had a few surprises along the way!
