the ceremony and reception turned out great. The only thing that was disappointing was the event coordinator at the hotel. Although this hotel is nice and and reception & ceremony all went well in the end, I had a hell of a time with the event coordinator. She was mostly unavailable, always in a meeting, rarely returned phone calls, always away from her desk, always got voicemail, you name it she had every excuse in the book! I frequently had to nag and chase her down! That's not the way a customer who is spending thousands of dollars should be treated.. I booked one year before and throughout the process I never actually met her until late November just 2 months before my wedding. She never had time for me! I was stuck! I would have been willing to loose my deposit just to find someone better, but the terms of their contract would not allow that without me having to pay at least 8k more. so i was stuck! When I went to her supervisors, they were no help either, They acted as if they could care less. I really don't think that the event coordinator did this intentionally, I just think that she is way overworked, too much on her plate and the management there they just don't care. I think this girl nataly was just way too overwhelmed and overworked with no help. At least thats the impression i got. Marriott Hotel you really should provide you staff with more help! Throughout this whole ordeal, they never tried to find anyone else to help me, all they would ever tell me was that she was the only event coordinator for the hotel and i would have to deal with her. Really sad that you treat your employees like that and it only ends up hurting your customers.. To be fair, Nataly did provide us with consessions in the end, like comping me an upgrade on my room and extra nite, a nice note in my room from her which was appreciated, and she was never unpleasant, very helpful when I was able to speak with her. I just think that the hotel is too big and like all huge business, looses sight of what is really important, the customer. In an effort to cut back on staff, like any other big corporation, you overwork the staff you have! Other then this, everything, else was perfect. I have to thank you for that because the food was excellent, the servers were great, the rooms were clean and luxurious, the decor was nice even the restaurant, and their food and staff were good. We actually had our rehearsal dinner there. So, with the exception of the people I mentioned (management) all other employee were helpful and courteous. So I'm basing my review on everything else and not the event coordinator/hotel mgmt. That part gets a 0 star.
