m my wedding day. After placing my delivery order, I received a email with issues with my order and a number to call. I called, I was assured everything had been fixed and pushed through. I only discovered there was a problem because I had a passing thought that I had not received a delivery text. This was three hours before my ceremony, and instead of being present, I was on the phone trying to fix an order I was assured was fixed and good to go.
Customer service could offer no escalation, no way to communicate with the store directly, and no option to hand the issue off to my wedding planner without stating over. I had to initiate a new pickup order myself, and they wouldn’t even contact to store to prioritize it. Even after all of that, the order was still missing four items at pickup.
I lost hours of my wedding day and started it stressed because total wine dropped the ball.
Total Wine did nothing to make this right — no compensation, no solution, not even a meaningful apology. The best they could offer was a generic go away apology email. I get that mistakes happen, when they do they did nothing to escalate or prioritize a solution, and nothing after to make it right after weeks of checking in.
For a company that prides itself oncustomer service, I am extremely disappointed.

service is way nicer. Just order via Total Wine’s website a week before the wedding and they’ll have it ready within a couple days. My fiancée went to pick up the drinks a couple days before the wedding. Then they will buy back any unopened cases of beer or full bottles of wine after the event (but beware, they can’t buy back bottles of wine that have been stored in an area above 85 degrees Fahrenheit… like in a garage or car). Overall a super easy and efficient process.

country), and met with Mark. He spent a lot of time with us, considered what we were serving and how much we thought our guests would drink, and made a few suggestions on reds and whites. He then recommended we try them ourselves, so we took home a few bottles that night, along with the liquor and beer we wanted to serve. The next day, after a wine tasting with my mom and brother, we made our choices and went back to purchase a few cases. We saved by getting the 1.5 L bottles (a recommendation by Mark). They also have an excellent return policy--anything which can be resold can be returned. So we returned a case of wine after the wedding and were refunded for it. In the end, for our 100 guests (with about 10 kids and many who just had 1-2 drinks), we spent about $850 and did not have a whole lot of excess. I'd definitely go this route again as Beltway Fine Wine made it really easy for us to save.
