Tpc Southwind A PGA TOUR Facility

Southwind is a beautiful facility. Both my fiance, mom, and I feel in love with it as soon as we stepped inside the banquet rooms. The night of our weeding, our guests constantly commented on the decor and how good the food was. My biggest problem with Southwind is the bar. My fiance and I placed a cap on the bar with the understanding that only we could raise it, with prior approval. Well, we knew we hadn't reached the preset limit. I called Southwind to inquire as to the final bar totals and when we could expect a refund check. Anna, the acting Banquet Coordinator, stated that she knew we didn't go over our cap but where probably right at it. I understood but asked for the final numbers, which she couldn't give. All she kept saying was that we were right there at it and didn't have a refund owed. She also stated that the Club didn't ring up drink for drink; which I understood. I HAD TO EXPLAIN TO HER HOW THE DRINK TOTALS WERE CALCULATED!!! It wasn't until I demanded to speak with the F&B Director that I was actually told how much liquor we consumed that night and would be receiving a refund. My suggestion to any Bride having her wedding here is to not pay the bar cap up front. Make them wait until the end of the night when they can calculate in your face the total amounts for the bar. I bet they would have accurate totals then! Another complaint I have with Southwind is that we requested the bar not be opened until dinner started. Well, they took it upon themselves to to open the bar directly after the ceremony. A difference in about 25 minutes.

I could not have been happier with the event staff at Southwind. They were so easy to work with leading up to the event and they did everything they could to make the reception perfect - and it was! The guests all raved about the food (which of course my groom and I never made it to) - but the staff packed up a cooler for us to have in the limo as we left! If you have the chance to have your event here - do it. Everybody is completely accomodating and it definitely took stress off of me knowing that they had everything taken care of!
