He captured our vibe, our vision, and our dream and then made it a reality. The music he chose for the dinner hour and the rest of the reception was literal perfection. We received comments about how he was great and made the reception the best they had experienced! I'll never stop recommending Manny and Transmission Music.

We recently got married (October 2024) and Transmission Music rocked our WORLD! Michael was our DJ and throughout the whole process I just felt like he "got" us. If you're looking to hire a DJ who can read the room, has a professional yet relaxed presence, and is going to make the soundtrack for your wedding night perfect? Look no further. We love Transmission and will 100/10 recommend them to anyone.

Music is so important to both of us, and something that brought us together. When we chose our wedding location of our shared home of Portland, Oregon, we wanted to hire someone we had a personal connection to that we could trust to help us throw the biggest party ever to keep everyone dancing on our big day. Our first choice was Transmission Music & Jake Rudh and we are so grateful they were the ONLY and PERFECT choice to DJ our wedding! Jake is a longtime friend from Minneapolis and knew exactly who to recommend; we worked with Shane Kramer, who was collaborative, friendly, engaged, and has such a keen ear for music and a sense of the right flow and vibes for weddings. He is an absolute dancefloor destroyer and wore out all of our family and friends with his perfect party tunes!! Now that is a wedding!! Beyond the big day itself, Shane's upbeat demeanor and enthusiasm for helping us plan our tunes kept us engaged throughout a long stretch of planning and preparation. We can't thank Transmission Music enough for everything!

We hired transmission DJ for our wedding, and they were absolutely perfect and so easy to work with from start to finish! Joshua, our DJ, was amazing! We gave him very broad guidance, and he delivered! Our guests all complimented the music, and we had the absolute best time dancing! Jake and Joshua both were awesome to work with! Everyone loved our playlist for each part of our wedding night, we felt like the music perfectly reflected us and contributed to the ambiance. We were so happy with our Transmission wedding! Our DJ met with us to help plan the perfect playlist and offered a lot of great suggestions, not just for the dance floor but for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner too. He coordinated with our venue and wedding planner to make sure everything went off without a hitch. All throughout the night we were getting comments from guests of all generations about how great the music was. When the dance floor opened up had multiple friends and family members talking about how the videos that played were the coolest thing they’d ever seen at a wedding. Our DJ also helped us plan every cue we needed to hit in our wedding, from the music playing as guests entered the venue to the last song of the night (“Goodbye Horses” by Q Lazzarus, for the record). When the dust had settled the next morning, we got text after text from departing guests telling us how it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We owe Jake and the Transmission crew a huge thanks for that!

Josh was our DJ and he did an amazing job! He listened to our requests / music preferences and made an epic dance party playlist. We appreciated his down to earth personality and receptiveness. We had a blast and had a full dance floor the entire reception. He also worked really well with our day of coordinator so the day went smoothly. Definitely would recommend Transmission Music and Josh Berwald.

We recently had Sam as our wedding DJ, and he did a fantastic job! The music was perfect, and he kept the dance floor packed all night long. Our guests had an amazing time and couldn't stop talking about how great the music was. Communication with Jake was smooth and professional, making the whole process stress-free. We used Transmission Music for our wedding and it was the best choice! Jake was super helpful in understanding our needs and matching us with the right DJ as we planned for the day. A Night to Remember! Transmission saved the day when we needed to book a DJ less than two months before our wedding. Jake was super helpful and matched us with Manny. Michael Grey was an amazing DJ!! I love that my fiancé and I didn't have to spend dozens of hours curating songs -- we gave Michael a short list of a few songs we liked, and Michael knew exactly what vibe we were going for from there. Every song was a hit; I couldn't stop bringing myself back to the dance floor! He was professional, fun, and read the crowd flawlessly, and was the best DJ I could have ever hoped for. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the experience with Transmission Music as our wedding DJ. We worked with DJ Josh Berwald and he was super easy to work and communicate with, and was enthusiastic about our music choices for the ceremony and special dances. I highly recommend using Transmission! I was very picky about music at my wedding, and if you want music that isn't your cookie cutter wedding music, but a playlist that is catered to you, they are perfect! We had Joshua as our DJ, and he was such a great DJ. He was down-to-earth, friendly, and fun. He put together our vision perfectly. Jake was also responsive, professional, and great to work with. Transmission is affordable and a great company to work with.

We chose Transmission Music because we wanted a DJ experience that was outside of the standard cookie cutter- “go to our online portal and add songs to a playlist” experience. Working with Jake and DJ Joshua Berwald was easy and fun. Communication was timely and we never felt rushed like we did with other dj companies. We got to work with DJ Joshua to make sure we heard what we had wanted to play but also gave him freedom to roll with the vibes of the night and even have some room for guest requests. He also took some pictures and videos of the dance floor and sent them to us after the wedding which was such a thoughtful touch and captured memories from our last song. Everyone had a blast! From the dance floor open to the end of the night someone was on the floor dancing. Joshua did an amazing job of reading the room to play songs that got everyone moving.

Choosing Transmission Music was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. It was clear that DJ John B had years of experience by the way he was able to read the room, know the perfect volume levels for each portion of the day, and how he seamlessly played every song we were hoping to hear. We hired Manny as our DJ after seeing him at our friend's wedding. Manny could not have been a better DJ! He made the night SO much fun. We had a large group of late twenty-early 30 year old's and the dance floor was going all night long! We had so many people rave about him after the wedding - especially his mixing skills. I could not recommend Manny more!!

We hired Manny from Transmission Music to DJ our wedding, and can’t imagine having worked with anyone else! Manny brought a great energy to the reception and is without a doubt the best wedding DJ I’ve ever heard. He was somehow able to blend our incredibly varied requests (including Lady Gaga, Slayer, and a Polka) into a set that worked amazingly, keeping everyone on the dance floor all night. At the wedding and in the days since, we’ve had so many people comment on how great the music was! Jake and Manny were also super easy to work with when planning the wedding, helping us figure out exactly what we wanted we wanted the reception to look and sound like. We can’t recommend Manny and Transmission Music highly enough!

10/10 would recommend hiring Transmission Music for any event in the future. Shane really set the tone for an awesome party and helped elevate one of the most memorable nights of our lives! We so enjoyed working with both Shane and Jake as they made the entertainment portion of our wedding run so incredibly smoothly. On top of being professional, responsive, and considerate, working with them was just downright fun! We were, are, and always will be huge fans of Transmission Music and hope to boogie down at one of their events around town soon!

The music was perfect, we could not have asked for a better night. Joshua read the room well, was communicative with us, making sure we were getting what we wanted, and curated an amazing night of music. There was not a dull moment on the dace floor. He was delightful and enthusiastic, it was like having another friend at the wedding doing my music.

Jake and Joshua were wonderful to work with for our wedding! The pricing was very reasonable and I loved being able to pick music that fit our taste. I would say Transmission is a company for music lovers. I thoroughly enjoyed subjecting my family and friends to my music taste for the cocktail hour and appreciated Joshua creating a fun playlist for the whole wedding to get everyone dancing. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We could not have hoped for a more incredible DJ for our wedding! Booking with Jake was seamless and he was very helpful throughout the entire process. Our DJ was Michael Grey and he was truly one of the best parts of our night. We felt we were in great hands with him from the very beginning, he met with us a few times leading up to the wedding to make sure he had a clear vision of our music taste and vibe of the evening, and everything was perfect! Once the dance started, NOBODY left the dance floor for the remainder of the evening. We had 50+ people on the dance floor all night. Several guests told us it was the best wedding dance floor they’d ever seen. Michael also perfectly executed all of the ceremony and special music and all of the special announcements throughout the evening without pulling too much focus or making it about him, the balance was perfect. We can’t recommend Jake and Michael enough!

We were extremely happy with Manny as the DJ for our wedding. Manny DJ'd for a close friends wedding a few years before. From the intake form, a phone call about a month ahead, to the actual event, everything was fantastic. We like all types of music and trusted Manny to run it. From the specialized track my wife wanted for when people walked in to reading the dance floor, it was an incredible experience. I couldn't recommend Manny enough!

Transmission music was amazing for our wedding! John was our DJ, he did a fantastic job checking in with us leading up to the wedding to get all our song preferences. We loved our experience with Transmission Music! Jake the owner is extremely friendly and connected us with such an awesome Dj in his crew. Joshua was awesome and killed it day of. He had everyone on the dance floor, all ages, and just knew what to play to keep people out there. I truly believe giving an artist full creative freedom is the way to get the best results and we did just the with Joshua. Jake is (without question) the most phenomenal DJ, and the absolute best we could have ever asked for. Transmission Music not only provided us with the wedding dance of our dreams but SEVERAL of our guests (even the notoriously difficult to please) were blown away by the variety and quality of the music. My husband and I were in awe that the dance floor was packed and remained that way all evening! Do yourself and your family a solid and book with Transmission to ensure that you have an utterly magical evening.

DJ Manny was wonderful to have apart of our wedding! He very much listened to want we wanted throughout the day and was able to fill in the gaps and keep the dance floor moving! He was also flexible on our wedding day with the timeline and made sure things started when we wanted them too. Overall a great and easy experience

Jake and Michael at Transmission Music were incredible to work with. Jake was very responsive for setting up the contract. Michael DJ'd our wedding and was just phenomenal. Michael took our direction for what type of vibe we wanted during the cocktail hour and during the dance party portion and knocked it out of the park. He played such great music that the dance floor was packed all night, and even our guests who normally won't dance at weddings were out there for at least a few songs! I cannot say enough good things about Michael and Transmission Music other than you will not be disappointed if you hire them!

Sam did a great job at our wedding. From initial conversations and planning through the night, he was professional and easy to work with. We also found Transmission Music was very good value for money! Would highly recommend!

We had Transmission Music DJ at our wedding and it was SO fun. Manny did an amazing job - I never left the dance floor. People literally danced all night and had so much fun. Manny played the exact type of music we discussed pre-ceremony all the way through to the end of the night. Everything was exactly as planned. I was stressed about the ceremony and timing of the specific music but all was perfect. Highly recommend. So many friends and family commented on how fun and awesome the dance floor/music was.

Our experience with Transmission was fabulous! Jake is such a professional, and gave us complete confidence that our big day would go smoothly...and it did!! Our DJ Joshua was a ton of fun, and did a terrific job reading the crowd and keeping the dance party going. Music was really important to us! After meeting with Joshua and going over some examples from our eclectic playlist ideas, we felt very comfortable that he "got" us and what we were hoping for with the wedding, reception, and dance party. He also went above and beyond to support last minute A/V needs when a key family member had to miss the wedding at the last minute. Great experience with Transmission, all around!

Love Transmission Music! Jake couldn't have made the process easier to plan for my wedding. My husband and I were lucky to get to work with John B on the big day! He is an amazing DJ and it was so fun planning with him. We had an initial call to go over the vision for the wedding. Transmission is a Minneapolis staple for the last 22 years... Jake Rudh has been winning "best DJ" awards year upon year... and his team are all equally amazing. Shane was an amazing DJ for our wedding!! He got our vibe immediately and kept us all dancing for hours... He also flawlessly executed all the music for the ceremony... in exactly the right places! Book this DJ now! We had Jordan through transmission music and our experience could not have been easier or more fun. Jordan brings the best energy and the BIGGEST party you could ever want. He had the dance floor packed for 4+ hours and gave us the most fun atmosphere. It was exactly what we hoped for, with what felt like very little work on our part. We made two playlists (one for cocktails and one for dancing) to give Jordan the “vibe” we were going for, and he took that info, combined it with his vast knowledge of music and crafted the perfect party. He was so great to work with, both in the lead up to the wedding and on our wedding day. Flexible, prepared, and engaging. I swear that every person who attended our wedding has commented to us that he was incredible. We are still hearing about how great he was months later and would recommend him 1000%. Book them!

We hired Transmission Music for our wedding reception, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. Owner Jake Rudh is a masterclass in both professionalism and his extensive knowledge of music! He made it easy to work out exactly what songs we wanted to hear. From the ceremony all the way until the end of the night, Jake didn’t miss a beat. We had many guests tell us it was the best music that they have ever heard at a wedding, and the dance floor was full the entire night! On top of all this, Jake is a great person with an awesome attitude. He is very warm and easy to talk to. We loved DJ Manny and Transmission music!! Jake was super responsive when we first reached out. He got back to us right away after a first conversation with specifics about DJs who were available. It was a great price and they were super flexible with ceremony, dinner and reception music. Manny was awesome. He checked in with us during the dinner to help make sure speakers were at the right time and everything was set. He did the most epic hora ever which was the best way to kick off dancing. He kept people dancing all night with an amazing mix of oldies and new songs and ended the night with Purple Rain which we loved!! He was the perfect fit for us, cool and casual and playing music we liked versus just top 40 songs. We would recommend Manny and Transmission Music to anyone!

Manny was our DJ for our wedding in September, and we couldn't have picked a better choice than Transmission. Our first call with Jake was nearly a year out from our wedding and we really appreciated how straightforward it was to set things up; they were a great match for the easygoing and fun vibe we were looking for. Everything was flawless on our wedding day and our dance floor was never empty! We had lots of friends who were impressed with how quickly Manny jumped on their requests (and personally we also appreciated how well he was able to read the good ones and smoothly transition away from the clunkers). He continually checked in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was working for us, and did the same thing for everyone giving toasts, which was a nice touch to make them comfortable and prepared to step up to the mic. Manny from Transmission Music was the DJ for our wedding. Everything about the experience was perfect. Manny, Jake, and the Transmission Music crew were extremely easy and fun to work with and helped us bring the right musical vibes to our wedding day. We cannot say enough great things about Manny as a DJ and collaborator and encourage anyone in need of a DJ to use Transmission Music. Here are some of the highlights: 1. The initial screening and booking process was quick and painless. They scoped the event to our needs and did not pressure us or force us to buy any service that we didn’t need. (FYI: We booked about 5-6 months in advance.) 2. The process of building our playlists was fun and collaborative. Manny provided a very short intake form and set up time to speak with us before the wedding. He made a point to understand the vibe we wanted to curate for different stages of the wedding ceremony and reception. Even before the wedding day, we were 100% confident that we were in good hands. 3. Our playlists were honored and then some. Every song we (or our guests) wanted to dance to was played. We gave Manny the discretion to play other songs that would add to the evening and he delivered, superbly blending together our suggestions with his instincts. 4. Manny was proactive in understanding our entire itinerary (names of speakers and times of speeches, e.g.) and he was really helpful in corralling the crowd and making announcements for us. We were in a euphoric state on our wedding day and Manny’s calm demeanor and attention to detail really helped us keep our event running smoothly. 5. Most importantly, the dance party was FUN. Manny is great at reading the room, knows when to switch up the songs, has divinely smooth transitions, and knows when to work the crowd. There were no misses. As a testimony to how great his transitions were, one of the children in the crowd was told that they needed to go home after “one more song.” Three songs later, the kid’s mom was telling him that they really needed to get home and the kid declared “but it’s still the same song!” Overall, we had a perfect wedding and Manny and the Transmission Music team were a big part of that. I cannot recommend them enough.

Transmission Music was amazing for our wedding! We wanted an 80's soundtrack and our amazing DJ, Joshua, was totally onboard and enthusiastic. We had so much fun with Joshua the day of the wedding - he was even rocking out at the DJ table! All in all, we could not have been happier. Transmission Music just gets it. The whole Transmission team were wonderful at handling our wedding. It was originally supposed to take place during 2020, and they made the process of moving it to a 2022 date completely stress free. But the most important part of the review is the DJing itself: the music was so much better than any other DJs we looked into in the Twin Cities, and Manny consistently picked the right tunes for the vibes in the room at the moment. Would 100% hire them again for any event. Best event DJs I've ever experienced.

Our DJ, Sam, did a great job at our wedding reception. I think my wife and I both worried about whether or not people would dance at the wedding...Sam had us out there until the lights came up. People had fun, requests were played, and we loved his work.

Michael Grey was a phenomenal DJ! He really listened to us as we described our music taste and ideal wedding day. The ceremony music transitions were seamless. He went above and beyond helping our coordinator light an absurd amount of candles to make our reception space absolutely stunning, and most importantly our dance floor was INCREDIBLE! Folks did not get off the floor and had the time of their lives. Michael also brought such a wonderful positive energy to the day and was very understanding and flexible as we worked through planning during the most uncertain times of the pandemic. We absolutely loved working with him and 100% would recommend his services to anyone and everyone!

Transmission music was incredible. After our original DJ canceled, Jake was able to guaranty DJ availability for our wedding. Michael Grey was our DJ and he absolutely crushed it. Michael asked questions about our flavor in music and curated his set to our favorites. When people were loving the classic wedding songs at the beginning of the night, he stayed with those. When the party really ramped up, he kept the pace with hit after hit. The dancefloor was full all night long, which I think is a ringing endorsement of Michael and Transmission Music. After the wedding, we received very positive comments from our guests, with many asking for the contact info of our DJ. I would highly recommend this vendor to everyone.
