I had the foolish notion that I'd set up a playlist and DJ our wedding ourselves, an idea that sounded like a great up until reality set in a few weeks before the big day and I realized how dumb this actually was. I reached out to Transmission and Jake was super quick to respond that, luckily, they had availability (and at a price that was honestly less than expected).
He set us up with our DJ Joshua who sent over a helpful checklist of considerations and ideas right off the bat. We met up a few weeks before the wedding to go over ideas and get a feel for the vibe of the day.
On the wedding day, Joshua was super easy to work with and a huge asset to have around with his incredible wealth of experience. With nothing but some vague notions of what we were looking for an example playlist or two he expertly curated every part of our big day from the ceremony to the cocktail hour and kept the dance floor bumping (despite the challenge of most of our guests being old farts who left early).
Thanks Joshua and Jake! Hiring these guys was one of the best decisions we made for our big day.

Jake's opened for everyone from Lizzo, Gwen Stefani, Janelle Monáe and Questlove to indie favorites Tame Impala, Beach House, Grizzly Bear and Jason Isbell. Our experience was perfect with Transmission Music. Jake was so easy to work with and very professional, and our DJ, Manny, listened to all our thoughts and incorporated everything...
perfectly!! And I had given Manny some interesting requests - There were some songs that I put on my must play list, knowing they might not be extremely popular, but he wove them into the night so well that people stayed out there on the dance floor. I had also asked if we could do a karaoke sort of thing, where I would sing to my husband if I felt up to it...Manny was so flexible, saying to just let him know a song in advance. Well, I ended up telling him only a chorus in advance, and he still pulled it up quickly and made it work seamlessly!! He was wonderful, and he made the night wonderful too. Thank you so much Manny! And thank you Jake for helping organize!

He worked with our playlist and kept folks dancing on the floor, while working with the Day-Of-Coordinator to ensure the day flowed smoothly. Jake was a pleasure to work with too when we first reached out. So understanding of the tough moment we were in. Honestly, they saved the day, and so matched the tone of the rest of the wedding, it was like they had been part of the plan from the very beginning. Use this DJ service - they are the real deal. He also worked with our ceremony musician (a close friend) to get him set up with audio – that worked out perfectly, and we didn’t have to do a thing other than connect the two of them via email ahead of time. Joshua took our song recommendation list and filled in the rest with some excellent hits, while also respecting the “do not play” list. We got so many compliments on the music all night! the booking process. Our DJ was Joshua, who was just the absolute best. I could tell he really listened to my husband and I both during our initial Zoom call and during our conversations throughout our wedding day. His responsiveness to the crowd was absolutely perfect, whether it was playing Talking Heads for when we dragged my parents out on the floor or playing Defying Gravity for my theater friends. One of the most common compliments we got from guests was how good the music was the whole night. Thank you Transmission and Joshua for helping make our big night exactly like we imagined it!

Jake was responsive and thorough in the setup and initial coordinating, and he selected Manny based on what we were hoping to achieve — and he absolutely nailed it. We’ve gotten so many compliments on how fun and seamless the night felt. Manny was engaging, personable, and completely in tune with what we envisioned. We couldn’t have asked for a better soundtrack to one of the most meaningful nights of our lives.
Highly recommend Transmission to anyone who wants a dance floor that stays packed and a DJ who feels like part of the celebration!

We had such a great experience working with them!
Booking with Jake was easy and fun! He asked all the right questions and set us up with Shane who is massively talented and literally a perfect match for us. His selection fit the vibe perfectly and really nailed who we are as a couple. The awesome music is what our guests (who are also music nerds) remember most from our big day. We’re still getting compliments on how much fun our wedding was, and we have Transmission to thank for that. It wouldn’t have been remotely as cool without them!

me. He worked off a few required songs and filled in the rest...and really knew how to work the crowd. He also played the music videos alongside the music which gave it an extra punch for the gen x crowd that was there. If you are thinking of booking someone else I recommend talking to Jake as I cannot imagine anyone being as fun, professional, and great as he was. Just an absolute pleasure to use his services.

Pre-Wedding: We met with our DJ, Joshua Berwald, via Zoom twice before our wedding. The meetings went long for the best of reasons - we were having a great time! Joshua’s musical knowledge is astounding, and he lends the perfect guidance to the preparation process. He’s also just a really nice and cool human!

He made us feel great about our playlist, even the weirder songs, but he also made sure to open the dancing with some more mainstream hits to help get everybody dancing. It was also SO fun talking with him the week-of as we made our final play-and-not-play list (he knew all of our cultural references :D )

logistics months before our big day, and Sam was our DJ!! We had the BEST experience from start to finish. These guys are pros - so easy to work with and handled every detail with ease. DJ Sam was a great MC and made our wedding party entrances so fun, helped managed the start of all the speeches...a total natural on the mic! And most importantly for us - our reception dance was a BLAST!!! It was packed the whole time and everyone had so much fun. as instantly a fan. He owns and runs this small (but hugely talented!) company. He wanted to know our vision for our day and how they could make music an integral part of it. Before we even booked, Jake connected us with the DJ we would have at our wedding - almost a year before the date! The level of service, paired with the reasonable pricing and payment schedule, and the party they delivered on our wedding was incredible. Our DJ, Sam Baeker, truly stuck to our no play list, somehow played songs that we loved and didn't even mention, and was on board with some unique elements we wanted for our day. He was so skilled at his work and our guests had a blast!

e ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner too. He coordinated with our venue and wedding planner to make sure everything went off without a hitch. All throughout the night we were getting comments from guests of all generations about how great the music was. When the dance floor opened up had multiple friends and family members talking about how the videos that played were the coolest thing they’d ever seen at a wedding.
Our DJ also helped us plan every cue we needed to hit in our wedding, from the music playing as guests entered the venue to the last song of the night (“Goodbye Horses” by Q Lazzarus, for the record). When the dust had settled the next morning, we got text after text from departing guests telling us how it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We owe Jake and the Transmission crew a huge thanks for that!

. Manny DJ'd our event, and he was so kind, funny and professional. He did an amazing job of reading the crowd and would switch up songs to get everyone back onto the dance floor. Something that was really important to us was playing music that guests of all ages could dance to throughout the night, and Manny made sure to focus on that. Once some of the older folks left, he switched it up and played music geared towards the younger crowd, and everyone loved it. We would absolutely recommend Manny and Transmission Music for your event!

he start of the process to the very end, Jake and our DJ Sam were amazing. They answered every question we had and were so helpful and accommodating. When it came to our actual wedding, Sam absolutely blew us away. We had just under 200 people and let me tell you the dance floor was absolutely PACKED the entire night. Sam played great song after great song and we received so many compliments from guests about what an incredible job he did. Not only were the tunes great, but Sam did an amazing job as the MC throughout the day. He helped keep things moving and was easy going and thoughtful. Truly one of our favorite vendors from the entire wedding!

ing with Jake and DJ Joshua Berwald was easy and fun. Communication was timely and we never felt rushed like we did with other dj companies. We got to work with DJ Joshua to make sure we heard what we had wanted to play but also gave him freedom to roll with the vibes of the night and even have some room for guest requests. He also took some pictures and videos of the dance floor and sent them to us after the wedding which was such a thoughtful touch and captured memories from our last song. Everyone had a blast! From the dance floor open to the end of the night someone was on the floor dancing. Joshua did an amazing job of reading the room to play songs that got everyone moving.

He was somehow able to blend our incredibly varied requests (including Lady Gaga, Slayer, and a Polka) into a set that worked amazingly, keeping everyone on the dance floor all night. At the wedding and in the days since, we’ve had so many people comment on how great the music was! Jake and Manny were also super easy to work with when planning the wedding, helping us figure out exactly what we wanted we wanted the reception to look and sound like. We can’t recommend Manny and Transmission Music highly enough!

he was truly one of the best parts of our night. We felt we were in great hands with him from the very beginning, he met with us a few times leading up to the wedding to make sure he had a clear vision of our music taste and vibe of the evening, and everything was perfect! Once the dance started, NOBODY left the dance floor for the remainder of the evening. We had 50+ people on the dance floor all night. Several guests told us it was the best wedding dance floor they’d ever seen. Michael also perfectly executed all of the ceremony and special music and all of the special announcements throughout the evening without pulling too much focus or making it about him, the balance was perfect. We can’t recommend Jake and Michael enough!

He had everyone on the dance floor, all ages, and just knew what to play to keep people out there. I truly believe giving an artist full creative freedom is the way to get the best results and we did just the with Joshua. He asked us just for a small list of our favorite music so he could get a vibe of what we liked and he curated the best night of music.
Highly recommend! They're great DJs and the price is very reasonable.
