Davey has transformed that early spark into a successful career as a talented makeup artist, with 12 years professional experience. Davey has expanded his artistry for events like; NYFW, Kennedey awards, and presidential inaugurations. His artistry has been featured on many local magazines such a DC luxury magazine, Washingtonian magazine, what’s up weddings, The knot, and more. Davey has an exceptional ability to enhance natural beauty and bring clients’ visions to life. Davey's easygoing personality and attention to detail ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone who sits in his chair. He wanted to create True Colors Beauty Co, as he loves to educate others and really wanted to create a company to not only help the DMV and more to look stunning for events, but also give an opportunity to other inspiring artist. He enjoys learning from top artist’s in the industry with continuing education, always inspired to grow and be the best artist he can be for his clients. He masters in a very diverse portfolio, and is a pro in the wedding industry traveling wherever is needed. He states “ Its important for me to give or boost confidence in women. Gigi (also known as Heather) is an award winning hair artist with 25+ years of experience. She is licensed in the states of MD, SC, and the nations capitol of DC. She has competed in and won several hair show competitions over two decades. One of her favorite accomplishments was styling hair backstage for her lifelong friend Christian Siriano’s first NYFW show in September of 2008. To this day he continues to trust her artistry for his clients, staff, family, and friends. Gigi has a deep passion for making women look and feel their absolute best. While she loves a classic and vintage look, her expertise allow her to create custom looks curated for each individual bride. She is dedicated to making brides not only feel amazing but to realize their dream ‘glam squad’ bridal experience! Her continuing education and evolution in hair artistry is never ending. It includes certification in 3 separate brands of extensions, certified board color specialist training, Keratin Complex certification, as well as master cutting, color, styling, and product knowledge classes with luxury brands such as Aveda, Oribe, Kérastase, Pravana, Keratin, OlaPlex, and many others. Outside of her top tier work, Gigi is a mother of 4. Her oldest daughter, Macie who is also on our team, has given Gigi 4 of the most beautiful grand daughters. True Colors Beauty Co was amazing to work with for my wedding. From the trial all the way to my special day, they were very communicative and answered all my questions. Davey was absolutely fantastic. He gave me some skin care tips at my trial about how I can have the best application on the day of. I purchased his recommended products and followed his instructions. Day of- it made ALL the difference! I am now in love with these products that he recommended and I use daily. Davey was also great with my mom, who had never had her makeup done professionally. She was a bit nervous that she was not going to look like herself, but Davey did an amazing job highlighting her natural features while also giving her more of a sheer look that she asked for. The entire bridal party got many compliments all evening on the makeup look. Thanks for making my day so special!

I truly can’t say enough amazing things about Davey and Lizzie with True Colors Beauty Co. They were absolute rockstars from start to finish. Not only did they make me feel like the glammest of glam on my wedding day, but they also went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt confident, beautiful, and completely at ease. Davey somehow took my scattered Pinterest inspiration and turned it into exactly what I had in mind—he just got it. Lizzie was equally incredible, and together they created such a calm, fun, and positive environment while we were getting ready. The vibes were seriously top notch. They also did makeup for my bridesmaid, my mom, and my mother-in-law, and everyone looked amazing. Each look was perfectly tailored to the person—elevated, timeless, and still totally them. Lizzie totally understood the assignment that my bridesmaid gave her and absolutely nailed the look. The makeup held up all day and night through happy tears, hugs, and lots of dancing. I am a total makeup snob, and when it comes to bridal makeup -- even moreso! I even considered doing my own bridal makeup at one point. When I saw the rave reviews for True Colors Beauty, I immediately checked them out and felt like I was in good hands. From beginning to end, working with TCB was a dream. Sarah, the beauty coordinator, is extremely thorough and helpful, responding to my questions quickly. The environment when I visited for my trial was upbeat, fun, clean, and welcoming! I was assigned Taylor for my makeup and Kristi for my hair. They both delivered my dream bridal look on my big day. They were right on time (and we had to be ready early!), fun, and made our morning that much more special. My hair/makeup look stayed ALL day and ALL night from 11:30am - 11:30pm! Davey & the hair/makeup girls are true professionals. Moving forward, when I need beauty services done for future events, I know I will definitely be going back to them. TCB is the easiest recommendation I will ever make, not just for weddings but other events too!

I hired True Colors Beauty to do my hair, my mom and stepmom's hair, and bridesmaids' hair for my wedding and I cannot say enough good things. Macie was our hairstylist and not only was she so kind and fun to spend the morning with, but truly so phenomenal at her job. Everyone came to her with different ideas and styles in mind and she perfected every single one. I know everyone felt stunning with her help and I genuinely would hire TCB and Macie 100 times out of 100 to do my wedding hair.

Davey is the absolute best! He is a total pro and incredibly talented as an artist. On top of everything else, he is just the kind of guy you want to spend your wedding day with! His team is wonderful and they bring the best energy. Also worth noting that this is the first and ONLY time my mother has not washed off her professional glam and redone it herself in 65 years of living. He really listens and executes according to all comfort levels with makeup so you still feel like 'you' !

Both were Melanie and Gigi were so nice and conversational the morning of my wedding, which helped calm my nerves. My experience with True Colors Beauty Co was absolutely PHENOMENAL! I had Davey & Kristi do my makeup and hair for my wedding in September, and we also had Mel do makeup for some of the bridesmaids- they each were AMAZING. Everyone looked incredible! I was truly OBSESSED with my hair and makeup for my wedding day-- all thanks to this amazing team. My hair and makeup stayed put the entire day/night, despite it misting and dancing all night long. This team is extremely talented; they completely understood my vision and absolutely nailed it. In addition to their incredible skills, they are the nicest, friendliest people and made getting ready so fun! Also, they are extremely organized and communicative with all the planning leading up to the wedding. I will continue to use them for any beauty needs in the future. I worked with Melanie for my makeup and Kristi - they were both amazing and a ton of fun to work with!! On the wedding day, they worked efficiently to ensure everyone was ready on time without feeling rushed. The hair and makeup turned out absolutely stunning! I received countless compliments, and everything lasted throughout the day and into the night (it was a wedding in June and everyone’s makeup looked flawless even by the end of the warm summer day).

I cannot recommend Davey and Gigi enough! Having them in charge of makeup and hair for my wedding was hands-down the best decision I ever made. Davey, Heather, Macie and Taylor are incredible! They are hands down the best glam team in the DMV. Davey and Heather made me feel like a princess bride and I have never felt more beautiful! My entire bridal party looked amazing and each of my bridesmaids agreed they have never had better hair and makeup (and we’ve been in quite a few weddings together). My suggestion to any bride is to book this team the minute you secure your venue and wedding date! You won’t be disappointed, no other team compares to them!

Davey and his team did a phenomenal job on me and my bridesmaids on the wedding day. Everyone looked fantastic and felt their best. The thing I really appreciated about Davey was that after the trial I wasn’t thrilled with my look. I told him, and he was amazing about it. He didn’t get mad, instead he said “no problem, I’ve got you. Let’s try again and the retrial won’t be over until you love your look.” He was so patient and kind, and helped me find my wedding look. And on the wedding day - he nailed it! My now husband was thrilled with it (which is a big deal, because for months he had asked me to wear no makeup on the wedding day)! I had Gigi do my hair, and she did a phenomenal job as well! I felt beautiful and confident all day long! Thank you Davey, Gigi and the True Colors Team!

Melanie and Macie were my wedding day glam team and I couldn’t recommend them more! They did an outstanding job with everyone’s hair and makeup and made everyone feel incredibly confident and beautiful. Melanie is a true artist and worked with ease across different skin tones and types. Macie is an incredible hairstylist and made sure everyone had their hair exactly how they wanted it. I went with True Colors for my wedding makeup and highly recommend. Lizzie was great, everyone loved their makeup and it lasted all night. I ended up doing something completely different on my wedding day than I did for my trial but Lizzie was able to pivot no problem. My experience working with the team at True Colors Beauty Co was fantastic from start to finish. Sarah handled all of communications and logistics leading up to the wedding day, and she was wonderful! She was always super helpful and responsive whenever I reached out and made sure to confirm all of the final details and communicate any information I'd need to know well in advance, which really put me at ease and made the process easy. Melanie was our makeup artist on the day of the wedding and she was AMAZING! She did my bridal makeup as well as makeup for 5 of my bridesmaids, my mother and the mother of the groom, so 8 of us in total, and everyone's makeup looked absolutely stunning. Everyone was so happy with how their makeup looked and the pictures turned out beautiful. It was exactly the look that I had envisioned on my wedding day, and even better. She's also super sweet and fun to hang out with so it was great having her around. I seriously can't recommend True Colors Beauty enough!

Davey & his team are amazing to work with! He's done my makeup twice, once as a bridesmaid and then years later as a bride in my own wedding. The bridal look was STUNNING and my makeup lasted all night flawlessly. I even bought the lip kit (made by True Colors Beauty Co) that I wore for my wedding day so that i could touch-up as needed. Then between starting my wedding week by getting a black eye and it raining on my wedding day, we really put this team to the test and they handled it with ease. They were fun, yet serious and such a joy to be around. The main event of this review is that Davey’s makeup application is FLAWLESS and it lasted all night. I only needed to touch up my lips once, due to many “kissing” photos. He applied a natural dewy glow look for me and my girls. Hands down, it’s the best I’ve ever looked in my life. Davey, Melanie, and Macie were absolutely amazing! I felt like the most beautiful bride and each of my bridesmaids looked beyond perfect. They truly know how take a vision and turn it into reality! As a typically “natural” face and makeup minimalist, Davey was able to make me feel so bridal and so beautiful while still feeling like myself. A true glam artist! Melanie was able to do my mom’s makeup for the first time in her life, and I could cry at how amazing and beautiful she looked. Every bridesmaid was able to show Macie a picture of what they wanted their hair to look like, and each time she perfected it. My bridal hair and makeup lasted through a few hours of sleep, 2 flights, and hours of traveling!! I look forward to using Davey and his team for years to come for family pictures, showers, and other special events! I’ve already recommended him to everyone that asks since my bridal trial, but since my wedding I can honestly say I wouldn’t recommend anyone else!! True Colors Beauty did a wonderful job on hair & makeup for my wedding! The team was on time and efficient. I worked with Lizzie and the makeup lasted all day and through many tears. Gigi did a phenomenal job with hair as well. My only issues were when it came to figuring out payment the day of since I wasn't covering all of the services which took a lot of time and when the original hair stylist switched out due to distance and I was never notified of the change. Thank you for helping us look beautiful and glam on the big day!

Davey absolutely killed it today for my trial for my wedding! I have multiple friends that recommended him and let me just say it did not let me down! He made be feel so comfortable and soooo beautiful! Cannot wait to have him for our wedding day to make my girls and I so beautiful!! UPDATE: Davey killed it! He was on time and amazing! Even kept me calm when other things weren’t going as smooth! I recommend him to everyone! My best friend just booked him for her wedding next year! Can’t wait for him to make us all so beautiful again!!

Davey and team were such a delight to have for my daughter’s wedding. Her eight bridesmaids looked beautiful!! I had my makeup and hair done as well. Satisfied with my results too. My daughter looked absolutely exquisite. The makeup was done so beautifully, especially on her eyes. In fact, all the bridesmaids eyes were gorgeous. Great job True Colors!!!

True Colors Beauty Co is hands down phenomenal! I had the pleasure of working with Davey, I came to him without a clue of what I wanted. I trusted his expertise and became a blank canvas for him to work his magic! I was ecstatic with the outcome and absolutely stunned by the gorgeous face reflected back to me in the mirror! I would HIGHLY recommend the company! Anyone would rate them a 20 out of 10- because well a 10 just doesn’t do the level of satisfaction justice!

Let me start with the fact that I didn’t even get to meet Davey in person until my actual wedding day. This is because my makeup artist cancelled on me 4 days before our wedding. I had gone to a wedding two weeks prior and I loved how the bridal party’s makeup looked. So without hesitation, I contacted True Colors Beauty Co. Luckily, Davey was available on my date! Davey was so incredibally helpful with making sure not only I was taken care of, but my bridal party as well. I’m sure he could sense the anxiety and frustration in my messages to him, but he assured me that I would look beautiful! He communicated with me through email and texts and was very prompt to respond to my every question. The morning of my wedding he showed up not only on time, but earlier to set up everything. He was very nice, professional, and personable. It felt like we had known him for years. We talked, enjoyed a few laughs and jokes during the morning. He was able to get all of the bridal parties makeup done in record time and everyone looked AMAZING. I’m so happy with our experience, if you are looking for makeup for your wedding, Davey is the real thing. I’ve never felt more beautiful and my bridal party received so many compliments on their makeup that day. You will not be disappointed!

Davey is a fabulous artist. When I met him the day of the trial he was so personable and welcoming that I knew I would be able to tell him exactly what I wanted for my makeup and feel comfortable to tell him if I didn’t like anything. Fortunately, I loved everything. He uses high quality makeup, which was really important to me as a make up connoisseur myself. He used great products that’s stayed fresh and beautiful all day. He had to work with women of all different colorings and he did an amazing job with each and everyone loved it. Wouldn’t have changed a thing!

True Colors Beauty did my sister-in-laws bridal party makeup (which I was a part of) and everyone looked absolutely stunning!! I know myself I have never felt more beautiful, and I was just a bridesmaid! I've often said, one of my regrets of my own wedding was not having Davey from True Colors do my wedding makeup because I felt more beautiful when I was a bridesmaid at my brothers wedding than I did at my own wedding. And it wasn't just that I felt beautiful, I looked like myself...it wasn't over-done, I didn't look like a clown...I just looked like the best version of myself that I'd ever seen. Davey is amazing! He took his time, he was so personable and fun, and you could tell he loves why does and takes pride in his work (as he should!) Don't make the same mistake I did and not book True Colors for your big day, trust me! You want True Colors to handle all makeup on your special day, you won't regret it!
