erson to be in contact with. She deserves 5 stars. But, overall, we would NEVER recommend True Flavors Catering to any friends or family whether it’s for a wedding or any other occasion. When we went to our tasting before the wedding, the food was phenomenal. We were thinking BBQ originally to match our Western venue but ended up changing our minds to a chicken dish which proved to be the worst decision we could have made come the day of our wedding. At the tasting, the chicken was covered in a light sauce with capers and tomatoes and was alongside creamy Parmesan mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, sautéed veggies, and a dinner roll. The chicken was bursting with flavor and was in no way dry. However, the food at the wedding was not even close to what we ordered. The chicken was so dry that it broke our guests forks and knives. I only had two bites of it in fear that it would slide off my plate and land on my dress from not being able to cut into it. The chicken tasted like they cooked it and then put it in the microwave to ensure it was as dry as possible. Additionally, the chicken was covered in olives, not capers like we had originally ordered (and my husband hates olives) as well as covered in onions instead of tomatoes (which I am allergic to onions and made sure to let True Flavors know of this well in advance). The creamy Parmesan mashed potatoes we ordered were far from creamy and had absolutely not Parmesan cheese in them, let alone any cheese at all. The mashed potatoes were more like chunks of barely cooked potatoes and were in no way, shape, or form “mashed.” Going into the wedding, we were so excited for the food and were raving about the tasting to all of our friends and family. It was a complete embarrassment to say the least for my husband, me, and our parents. After the wedding, we reached out to Stephanie about how truly disappointed we were as most of our budget was set aside to provide our guests with a delicious meal. She was very understanding and forwarded an email about our experience to her VP. It has been 2 weeks since that email to the VP was sent along with a follow up a week later and we still have not received any sort of response. The customer service from the upper management is downright atrocious. It was truly a disappointed that we chose True Flavors for our wedding. We wished we had gone with just about anyone else except for them. Do not choose True Flavors unless you want a great tasting followed by an awful wedding dinner.

When you get compliments on how amazing the coffee was that was served with the cake - weeks later! - and see your wedding food posted on social media with #weddinggoals and with people asking who catered in the comments, you know you made the right choice.

awl over a year before our wedding date, so we were working with the True Flavors team very early on. We knew that delicious food and an open bar was a must-have at our reception. Jessica at True Flavors worked with us to make sure we had our dream menu and stayed within our budget. The day-of banquet manager was awesome as well. He made sure that everyone was taken care of. If we asked for anything, him and his staff were on it! Lastly, the food was SO good. All of our guests raved about how delicious everything was. We are still receiving compliments from guests on how wonderful the food, and the service was! We cannot sing their praises loud enough. Our wedding was so special, and their team hit it out of the park!

In the contract process, she had a lot of suggestions and options to fit into my budget, and to the look that I wanted, and she did not try to oversell me! I really appreciate that. The service at the reception was great, and the food was DELICIOUS. We had a Tex-Mex theme - fajitas and enchiladas. Everyone enjoyed it, and it was beautifully displayed. THANK YOU for everything.

very good. We got married in December at the Briscoe Western Art Museum, and out of the 4 or so caterers the venue allowed true flavors was a no-brainer. It was about half the price as some of the other options and i think the food ended up being better than any of them. If you want an idea of what they will serve they do a taste test once you make a deposit, but you can also go to La Gloria or one of the other restaurants they get their food from (on their website). The staff was good about getting back to me, they were very flexible when it came to things like allowing us to bring in our own booze, and the servers/bartenders they provided also did a great job. All in all, great service, great food, and great value if you're looking for a tex-mex or more casual style dining style for your event.

active, so that was a nice touch since stations can be a bit overwhelming for guests. All of the planning and help that went into our cocktail hour, dinner, bar and late night snack was well worth it, the help that Devra provided was an added plus to the great tasting food. Highly recommend!

d beyond. (We rented our tablecloths and napkins through them). They had great ideas for the appetizers and additional food to make sure no one went hungry. They also made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hand (water or otherwise), the entire night. Pricey, but worth it for us and our guests. Our great vendors helped our wedding run very smoothly.

rs. They also cut as served the cake! They did such a good job getting everyone's food out all at once that the groom and I didn't have time to walk around and chat with every guest at dinner! But that's not a bad problem to have considering we have been to weddings before when half the guests are done eating and the other half don't even have their food yet! They were sure to serve us (the bride and groom) first and check on us a few timse to make sure we didn't need anything. Would recommend them to everyone!

Devra was extremely responsive and helpful, explaining the options we had to consider. She was flexible, making sure she could meet with us for our walk through(s) when we were in town. Wedding food tends to get a bad rap, but our guests raved about the food and many told us after the wedding that they had stalked the appetizer passers because the bacon wrapped quail was so amazing. (Yes, sounds kind of strange, but trust them and at least try it!). The catering and bartender service was professional throughout the evening. I would definitely recommend True Flavors (and Devra!) to anyone considering catering in San Antonio.

and aqua fresca were two items that we loved. We had tastings with 4 different caterers. We went with True Flavors because we felt that the quality of food that they would deliver would be superior to the others and they did not disappoint.

She is not only knowledgable but has a warm heart and makes you feel so taken care of. Ww chose the wedge salad, chorizo stuffed chicken, chile en nogada, potatoes au gratin, cheddar and jalapeño biscuits along with late night breakfast tacos. The food was phenomenal! I got so many compliments all night long from almost every guest, many from out of town. Devra made everything the night of our wedding run so smoothly and she worked so well it make the night amazing. She kept a great schedule as well. I would recommend True Flavors to anyone looking for a catering company and would love to use them again.

an a spectacular authentic menu. We met with Devra at their offices near downtown SA and were treated to a wonderful tasting, most of which we decided to include in our wedding menu. We were very pleased with the beginning of the process, but things turned sour when we started working with Devra and her team on an estimate for our catering and rental services. We easily went back and forth, via e-mail and phone, at least 10-12 times to get the estimate correct. Each estimate continued to come back with simple math errors and incorrect menu selections. It took well over a month for us to get everything straightened out, just to get our contract correct before we signed it. As our wedding approached, we began to get push back from Devra and her team regarding the layout of the food/bar at the venue. It became so difficult to deal with that we let our wedding planner take over all communication. We were supposed to meet a representative from True Flavors one final time to do our walk-through of the venue early in the morning, a time everyone agreed on. She appeared 30 minutes late, claiming she had been out too late the night before. At least lie! At the wedding, the food was amazing and everyone was going back for seconds and even thirds. We could not hear enough about how excellent the food was. And the little bit I had was phenomenal. My husband raved about the food, as did my parents. Many guests told me it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. That's exactly what I wanted. True Flavors is truly the best caterer in SA for Mexican food, but you have to be willing to work a little more with their staff, because they can be difficult if you're a perfectionist like me.
