Jerrell was phenomenal! Finding Trulove Studios on Thumbtack was a true blessing.
Jerrell was our photographer for our engagement and wedding photos. Jerrell was personalable, ...
professional, accommodating, and overall a genuine person. Working with him was seamless. He has an excellent creative eye and provides quality work. We received our photos within days of our event, and they were stunning! He truly captured the essence of my husband and I but also candid moments with family and friends that will forever be remembered. Thank you again, Jerrell, for making our special day a phenomenal experience. ✨️
Jerrell was a no contest choice when choosing photographers. His style is so candid and real without looking like a silly Instagram filter. We knew immediately he was the photograp...
her for us. Our wedding pictures came out absolutely perfect and I have zero complaints (other than I wish there was even more beautiful photos lol)
He spent the time to get to know us and meet with us to really understand what we did and did not want during our big day and he got it all.
Hiring Jerrell was one of the best decisions my husband and I made during wedding planning. From the initial contact to random questions post event, he has been nothing but courteo...
us, professional, and upbeat. Jerrell called us on the dot at the exact time he was supposed to and this punctuality continued throughout our entire process. During our initial consultation call, I had a whole list of questions. My husband was sold after about 30 seconds and wanted to get off the phone! I also really like him but wanted to make sure we made an informed decision, so we asked him all of our questions and spoke to one other photographer (who overslept and wasn't ready at the time he set to call... no thanks). We wanted to make sure whoever we booked had experience with shooting interracial couples and also would be a fun person to be around for the day.
Some of this is listed in his description but here's what set Jerrell apart from other wedding photographers I reached out to-
1. Super simple pricing structure (and MORE than fair pricing)
2. He stays to the END of your event. Period. No fake sparkler exits here!
3. He doesn't want you to lose the excitement of your wedding waiting for the photos- there will be a sneak peak slideshow AT your reception (postscript: I was having too much fun to sit still for long but the slideshow was beautiful and so fun) AND he will deliver your wedding gallery within a week of your event (I let him know to take longer if he wanted because we wouldn't have even unpacked suitcases or gifts at that point)
4. His photo package includes an additional shoot- either your engagement photos OR a bridal shoot.
What you might not get from his Knot listing is the FUN and ENERGY Jerrell will bring to your event. Spoiler alert, just because it's your wedding day doesn't mean you and your fiance turn into models. Jerrell is awesome at lightening the mood, asking silly questions, and making everyone feel comfortable. Oh, and he's going to be dressed impeccably and end up on the dance floor. I loved hearing from my guests "your photographer was so fun" and "your photographer taught me The Wobble!" I really thought as the bride I would feel like I was being followed by the photographer all night but honestly from the start of the reception I had no clue where he was most of the time, which was perfect! Jerrell can absolutely capture your typical wedding poses but I think his biggest strength is candid shots. We have so many wonderful (non staged) photos of us and our guests from the wedding that we absolutely love. I only had three specific poses to request because, after working with Jerrell on our engagement shoot, I knew I could trust him and would be better off not interfering with his creativity. Oh, and did I mention he even came to Dallas (home for us) for our engagement shoot? Rockstar service from start to finish. We were so happy with our decision to book Jerrell Trulove.
The only thing I'm bummed about in relation to this vendor is that now that the wedding is over, we don't know when we will get to hang out with Jerrell again. Stop your search right now and just book him- you'll be glad you did!
Jerrell was absolutely fantastic to work with! He was friendly, helpful, flexible, and clearly a skilled photographer. He brought a tablet for us to see some of the photos he’d alr...
eady taken during the day for the dinner of our wedding and they were stunning. Everyone at the wedding loved working with him and were so pleased with the photos he took. Overall we’d recommend him to everyone!
Jerrell came highly recommended from an acquaintance after we struggled to find that right photographer to trust for our wedding.

ne. Planning a wedding is no doubt stressful. Mr. Truelove took over any stress or worries we had about capturing that day.
We through a wrinkle into our wedding that only us and our pastor knew about..... we forgot to tell Jerrell... we had those attending the option of renewing their vows... Jerrell caught some great pictures of family and friends!!
Truly a professional. Pricing, follow through, communication, and follow up..all of it was perfect.
The pictures are beyond our expectations. We recommend him to everyone.
Thank you again, Jerrell for your help in making our special day a phenomenal experience.

The quality of every photo was amazing. I’m really happy with the way the photos turned out. However, there were some photos that he didn’t get that I wish he did. My dad passed aw...
ay about 1 year before my wedding and I had a special spot reserved for him in the front row. Jerrell didn’t get a photo of that seat which included white flowers and a sign. Luckily, my videographer was able to get a photo of it. Another thing I wasn’t happy with was we were taking group photos for maybe 20 minutes before Jerrell said we were done (even though we had 45 minutes planned) I had to ask for several more photos. I didn’t notice until after the wedding that I didn’t get a photo with just me and my mom. There’s so much going on during a brides wedding day that I feel like it’s the photographers job to ensure all of these photos were captured. The bride shouldn’t remind the photographer to get certain important photos. I felt that I had to remind Jerrell to get a few of those photos and he still missed a couple that I would’ve really liked to have gotten. In the end, I would still recommend him for your special day because the photos are beautiful, but make sure you are very specific about certain photos you must have on your wedding.
Truly someone who listened to us, was so patient and organized. He made sure he made himself available to us and even helped us think about things to consider on that day. It felt ...
like he was also celebrating with us, which made my wedding feel that much more special.
A great experience with Jerrel. He took some awesome candid shots before, during, and after the Wedding.
Jerrell is phenomenal!! Easy to work with. His pictures tell a story! He was affordable, reliable, flexible and his work is quality!! Book him! You will not regret it at all. We wi...
ll cherish these photos forever the photos captured the beauty of our wedding ceremonies. Yes, we used him for two ceremonies a Nigerian Traditional wedding and the following day our more western ceremony and reception. He really went above and beyond! Thank you SOOOOO MUCH!!!
Me and my husband hired Jerrell Trulove to photograph our wedding and we could not be happier with his work. He was such a joy to work with... from the first photograph to the quic...
k turnaround in proofs! One of our wedding guests said "I wish he would have been my wedding photographer!" And that pretty much sums up how great he is!
We chose Jerrell Trulove to photograph our wedding after he donated some of his time to photograph a charity event in which we were involved. My wife noticed that he was all over t...
he place, moving about to get all the angles without even being seen. Like magic, he’d appear in one corner and then the next, and his work product reflected this.
We weren’t disappointed. What I discovered, which I didn’t know before our wedding, is that you’ll spend more time on your wedding day with your photographer than anyone other than your spouse. So you need someone more than just talented. You need someone who you’re happy to include in your day. Jerrell was just that. He was involved, but not too involved. He was a calming force and made our wedding day so much fuller.
Just after the ceremony and before the reception, Jerrell told us he was going to take a little break. But he wasn’t. He went back into a room to put together a quick show of the best pictures from that day. He surprised us with these photos, which were put on an electronic display for our guests to enjoy. It was the type of little surprise that made our wedding so much better. Guests loved looking at some of the angles.
I’m no photography expert. I don’t know about lines and angles and lighting and aperture. What I do know is that Jerrell captured the emotion of our day. From the ceremony to the beautiful nature of our wedding site, to the friends getting down and the band playing songs. He captured the big moments you’d expect—that snapshot of a first dance to frame over the mantle, but also moments you wouldn’t—your buttoned up uncle leading the band in a round of drinks.
Jerrell’s work is as full of meaning and emotion as you would expect. After we met him, when he drove hours to take our engagement photos, we spent a few hours at dinner. I fell in love with his story and his drive. I knew we’d made the right choice then. And everything that followed showed we were right. Do yourself a favor and choose Jerrell. You will not regret it.
It took me some time to finally sit down and write this review. I wanted to make sure to capture all the amazing things about Jerrell and his many talents. I had countless people i...
n the wedding and attending the wedding tell me how professional and personable Jerrell was throughout the wedding day. He has a light air about him that makes everything feel effortless and fun. He made sure to identify the smallest details so each captured moment was flawless. He has open lines of communication and met with me prior to the wedding to go over my timeline and iron out unrealistic parts. I can’t say enough great things to even come close to describe his talents, upbeat persona, and overall professionalism. When planning my wedding I did a lot of research to find @jerrelltruelovephotography and he was my favorite vendor!!! Thank you for capturing all the perfect moments for us.
Jerrell is an outstanding photographer. He captured all the important moments of our wedding day so beautifully. He also did my bridal portrait session -- and his shots turned out ...
absolutely stunning. In working with Jerrell on two occasions, I learned that he thrives when working in the midst of fast-paced, busy environments and impromptu moments. He's creative, quick on his feet, and always prepared with the right equipment. And of course, he has an incredible eye for wedding photography. In addition to being a highly skilled and talented wedding photographer, Jerrell provides exceptional customer service to his clients. It was Jerrell's professionalism and quick and thorough responses to our initial inquires as prospective clients that ultimately made us decide to work with him. He worked closely with us every step of the way, from before we signed on as clients to after our wedding day when prints were being generated. Jerrell's also just a very nice, funny, down-to-earth guy. I found Jerrell's upbeat, friendly personality to be very calming for me which made it much easier for me and my husband to pose for stage and candid shots. Jerrell was most certainly part of the reason our wedding day was so wonderful and why we will always look back on the day with happy nostalgia. If you choose to work with Jerrell, you will be exceedingly pleased!

he photos we received of our big day. You will never even notice him there but he is snapping the perfect photos that look absolutely timeless. You will not be disappointed!
When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we knew that the photographer was going to be THE vendor we splurged on. I'm a super sentimental person (who honestly has a terribl...
e memory) so it's vital to me to have moments captured with a camera to jog my memory and help me relive the best memories of my life. We had looked through countless photographer's websites and found great work - but nothing that captured the true "feeling" of a moment. Everything seemed so posed and staged, and not genuine or candid, unoriginal if you will. Then, we stumbled upon Jerrell Trulove's website (and I mean HOW PERFECT is that NAME?!). I was clicking through his galleries, and my husband walked by, glanced at the screen, and said, "THAT'S the one. I don't even know who it is or how much they cost, THAT is OUR photographer." I couldn't have agreed more. The feelings he managed to capture in his candid photos of couples and their families during their special day really made me feel as if I had been there and experienced those beautiful moments myself. Stunning. Then we read his philosophy about photography and how he treats each client - and I just found myself shaking my head YES in agreement with every single line of his 'about me'. We contacted him and we started a dialogue about our big day. He is SO personable, relaxed, and attentive. Professional beyond belief, but we also felt like we became friends almost immediately. He treated our big day as if he was just as emotionally invested in every step as we were. He was unobtrusive (but I'm sure would have been if we had asked). His bowtie game is always ON POINT. He made us feel so comfortable, made everyone feel so comfortable. The images he captured were perfect. Not staged at all, although he did give us those "posed pictures" if we wanted them (the line of all the family members - ya know - the traditional stuff). He captured every silly moment, and every heartfelt moment. I can't tell you enough how much he impressed me, and really just told our story better than I could have imagined - and we had a wedding with 200+ people! He even caught moments and details that I didn't even know existed, because c'mon, we all know that weddings are chaotic in the best way possible and there is no way you can see everything that's going on. He helped fill in the rest of the night for me when I couldn't be there. I can never, ever thank him enough. My husband and I are expecting a baby now, and there is no doubt in my mind that I'll be giving Jerrell a call for those pictures. He's affordable, professional, and such a down-to-earth man. THE man for the job. I'd trust him to capture more of my life's memories in a heartbeat.

till can’t beleive how a one man team made it all work. After receiving our photos, it was obvious that Jerrell made sure he was everywhere to capture every moment. We were more than satisfied with our experience and can’t wait for the opportunity to work with Jerrell again for future life moments.

e captured moments I wasn’t there to witness and made me feel as if I was there. My husband and I are very happy with his work, his professionalism and his response/quick turn around! 10/10 would recommend for any occasion!
Jerrell was professional and so much fun to work with. We loved the quality of the photos and he got them to us when he said he would. Highly recommend!
Jerrell is amazing. I seriously loved every single one of the photos he sent. My venue was a serious challenge bc it was super dark and Jerrell was able to make it look like it was...
just like any other space which couldn’t have been easy to do.
He caught every “special moment” of my wedding, even with other guests. It was remarkable!!!
He’s also just a great person. Super positive. My husband is really shy but Jerrell was able to get him out of his shell and comfortable!
I would recommend jerrell to anyone. Amazing photographer.
Jerrell was tremendous during our engagement photo shoot. It was the first time my now-husband and I had ever gotten professional pictures taken. We were so nervous, and afraid to ...
look "fake" or "awkward", but Jerrell made the whole experience so fun! The pictures came out so great, that we invited Jerrell to also take our wedding pictures for our friends-only wedding, and family-only wedding. He was so flexible and accommodating with our short-notice request, and manage to take lovely photos of my husband and I, as well as our loved ones. My favorite thing about Jerrell, besides his obvious talent, is that he is able to handle all type of personalities and situations with so much grace, which made our multi-cultural wedding a breeze! The turnaround times for the pictures is also super quick, and the easy-access galleries he creates are the best way to view and download your pictures!
The best of the best..
We combed through plenty of photographers through all social media/websites! We had a meet and greet with Jerrell that was super relaxed, professional and it was like he instantly ...
became part of the family! We opted to go with the 9HR session and for sure only needed 1 photographer- we never felt like anything was missing. During, and after the wedding we got countless compliments on how professional, courteous and friendly he was with our family and the vendors! His turn around time for previews is extremely quick. We love all of our photos- my primarily goal in shots was the candid ones, which turned out epic! He also had bookings from friends that attended our wedding! You will not regret going with him :)
Jerell, you are fabulous, your work speaks from the heart and the love that is unique to each couple, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we have memories to pass down to future generations in the Bryan family.

e he is THAT good. First of all, he was early waiting for us, then he went above and beyond helping me carry things to the venue, AND caught some amazing kodak moments I didn't even imagine would be ones that were the most memorable. His style is just phenomenal: the final photos were artistic, classy, and elegant. Throughout every moment of our portraits and the renewal Jerrell put us at ease, capturing the essence of who we are as a couple, and truly made us have SO MUCH fun. I gave him a shot list of some angles we wanted and he nailed them to a T! I will remember every session for years to come and can't wait to hire him again next year.

Think about it, if you are going to spend the majority of your day with this person, don’t you want it to be a person you can genuinely feel comfortable with? If it is, then Jerrell is your guy.
Don’t just take my word for it either, all of my guests could not stop raving about what an awesome person he was and how he went above and beyond. He truly did, and my husband and I are so grateful. We now have such gorgeous memories to last us a lifetime, and a photographer friend for life.
Thank you Jerrell, from the bottom of our hearts, for not just showing up and taking pictures, but also making the best day of our life (so far) even better!
