Trung was an excellent photographer and one of the best vendors we worked with for our wedding. He made us feel at ease with being photographed and the quality of his photos and editing was top notch. Highly recommended!

After an exhaustive search, we chose Trung initially because we liked his pictures, he matched our low-key vibes, had great reviews, and offered his services at a reasonable price. We are so happy we did. His pictures of our wedding are outstanding, and a few days after the event, he sent us a large preview of photos that made the whole family happy. He sent us the full photo list 6 weeks later and we were so impressed with the way he organized it to allow us to quickly find our favorites. He was also friendly and fun during the wedding. He vibed with our guests and integrated seamlessly into the event. He made both of us feel comfortable during the initial staged couple shots and never rushed us. Finally, Trung is very well organized. He was able to take all of the different permutations of group photos we asked and directed family and friends assertively but kindly. Trung was phenomenal - I can't recommend working with him enough! He took some truly amazing shots for my engagement session with my fiance, and we're now using these photos for our save-the-dates and wedding website. He really made our vision come to life, from suggesting breathtaking shoot locations to monitoring the cloud coverage to make sure we had the best weather possible. Trung was the absolute best to work with for our wedding weekend. We booked him and his wife as second photographer for 3 events, including 2 separate wedding ceremonies. First and foremost, we loved his photography style, which captures warm, true-to-life colors that flatter a wide range of skin tones and work well with all types of lighting. He did a wonderful job of capturing spontaneous/candid moments during our Indian and Western wedding ceremonies, as well as efficiently getting through our (long) list of family portraits! He and his wife also were a true pleasure to work with over the entire weekend -- flexible, easy and fun to hang out with, but also incredibly efficient/focused on capturing great photos. Lastly, compared to other photographers we had looked at, his pricing was quite reasonable (a great bonus!) We absolutely love our photos and would highly recommend Trung to anyone looking for an exceptional and easy-to-work with wedding photographer!

We hired Trung as our photographer for our wedding in November and it honestly was the one of the best decisions we made! Trung is a truly talented and professional photographer and artist. We reached out to Trung and scheduled a virtual meeting so we could get to know each other. This was helpful since we’d be coming from out of state to San Francisco and we needed as much organization and simplicity as possible. Trung’s pricing structure, contract, and timelines were clear and concise, minimizing our to-do checklist and keeping us within budget. The days leading up to the wedding, he was very communicative on scheduling and last-minute details. The morning of the wedding, he arrived early to our hotel and ready to document the day! Although he had never worked with our videographer, Trung had great professional chemistry with him and worked in tandem without being disruptive or “in-the-way” while everyone was getting ready. He floated seamlessly between the two rooms the men and women were getting ready in, which allowed so many different moments to be captured. Trung was also very helpful while we were both getting ready- he even helped my husband tie his bowtie! He was very charming and charismatic, which put me, my husband, and our families at ease. Trung was fantastic at giving direction as to where to look, how to change our body language, and even how to walk so he could capture natural moments. After the few hours spent working together, Trung really did become an extension of our small family wedding. Looking back, we would not have had the same wonderful experience if he was not part of our special day. Our families look back at the photos quite often and we happily relive the day through the stunning photos Trung took. Do yourselves a favor and hire Trung immediately!

We loved working with Trung and would enthusiastically recommend him. He shot our engagement and wedding photos. For our engagement photos, we went through parks in the East Bay and ended up at Lake Merritt. My husband and I are both somewhat awkward in front of cameras, but he instantly put us at ease and provided good feedback. He brilliantly captured both the beauty of the place as well as a surprising number of non-awkward photos of us. Leading up to our wedding, Trung was very responsive, flexible and timely. Trung is an amazing photographer that me and my wife originally hired to take our engagement photos. Trung gave us an incredible memory with our photoshoot near the Golden Gate Bridge and nearby beach. We knew from that experience that we wanted him to photograph our wedding! It was a pleasure to work with Trung and his wife, Julie. They were both very professional and on top of things. Trung was funny and made us feel comfortable while posing for the photos but I also like the candid shots. He was quick to send us sneak peak photos and updated us on the timeline of when to expect the photos. Photos turned out excellent!

We needed a photographer for our engagement shoot and we were pretty low on time. We reached out to Trung and he met us over Skype. We decided on a shoot in the Redwoods and Trung did such a beautiful job! Not only was he good at loosening us up (we were nervous), but his photography was beautiful! He got our pictures back to us quickly and we used them for our save the dates. He is professional and great at what he does, we highly recommend him!

From our engagement photos to the wedding day itself, Trung has been an easy-going, friendly, and witty personality that accompanied us on our journey. He was able to make us laugh and feel more comfortable when we posed for photos. Now that we’ve gotten the preview of the photos from the reception, we can confidently say that Trung was able to capture the magic of that night -- the colors, the lights, the energy. He made us look like how we felt: on top of the world. On top of that, he helped me tie my bowtie! His wife Julie served as the second shooter and complemented him well, capturing the behind-the-scenes getting-ready portion of the day without us feeling awkward. She was super nice and friendly, and captured so much of that night without us really noticing. But the photos are the proof. It was so nice not to have to think about using our phones to capture any of the night, as we knew we’d have full coverage thanks to Trung and Julie. They even stayed an extra half-hour to the end, to finish off the night with us.

Photography was our number one priority for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier with Trung! Trung was super easy to get along with and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We also did our engagement shoot with him which I highly recommend doing if you’re able to as a practice run for the big day. His photos speak for themselves, but he’s also a great guy! Many of our wedding guests remarked on how hard him and his partner Julie were working on the day to get all the best shots. Trung also turned around a preview of some of the best shots extremely quickly which allowed our guests to view them during brunch the next day! We loved having Trung and Julie photograph our wedding and highly recommend them!

We are so lucky we found Trung on The Knot. He was such a pleasure to work with, and everyone at our wedding was asking who our photographer was! He is fun and playful, making the entire process really comfortable. He paid attention to what we wanted out of our photos and made sure to check off a very long list of requested shots. Trung was the perfect photographer for us on our special day. On the day of, with all the typical wedding stresses, Trung was extremely kind and helpful and demonstrated tons of experience to help us capture important moments. He was flexible with timing and small changes throughout the day. And the photos turned out beautifully and with such quick turnaround. Trung and his wife Julie are a dream team. We discovered Trung through a google search and instantly loved his photographic style and personality. We met with him over Zoom, and he was genuine, kind and straight forward (amazing how his personality came through a webcam). If you want a phenomenal videographer/photographer duo, we strongly recommend both Trung and Denis! The wedding day was one of the happiest and shortest days of our lives! We cannot be more grateful for all the priceless photos which we will cherish for years to come. Trung sent us so many sneak peek photos just the day after the wedding, and we received the entire album under a month later. Trung is a talented, wonderful person to work with. He was so responsive prior to our session, reassuring, full of information on how to navigate City Hall during the pandemic and an absolute pleasure to work with. He was so fun and calming during our photo session that I didn't realize where the time went. We got so many beautiful shots, in so many different poses/locations/settings and it was one of the best photography experiences I have ever had. Between the shots, he kept us laughing and enjoying the day. Even after our session, when we needed an expert opinion on another set of photos, he was more than willing to share his thoughts. Trung was a fantastic wedding photographer and we love how our wedding photos turned out! We got married at the Piedmont Community Hall in early 2022 and he was super organized, well prepared, and efficient. Prior to the wedding, Trung walked us through preparing a list of photos for the day and helped us think through different groupings. On the day, he did a great job handling our large and disorganized families and corralling them for all the group and individual photos we had discussed. Trung is personable, respectful, and has the polite assertiveness necessary for getting everything done on the day. Trung did such a beautiful job of capturing our elopement and the celebration later. He caught candids, captured the stunning scenery, and he did a beautiful job of helping us pose for the portrait and group photos. Gorgeous colors, great composition! If you’ve come here looking for a photographer to capture an important moment in your life then we want to help you on your search and tell you that Trung is the photographer for you. It took us a while to find Trung, we interviewed multiple photographers for our wedding, some doing wedding photos as a side job, others doing it as a team while in college, and some who would have cost more than the entire wedding put together. Having decided to do the reception in South San Francisco we did a google search for photographers in the area and Trung came up first. We sent a request to Trung to meet over zoom and learned about each other. Since the beginning all the way up to the day of our wedding Trung was professional, personable, considerate, and punctual. Trung had made sure to find out before the wedding the types of photos we were looking for, who would be in the photos and the location of each so on the day of the wedding he was well prepared and captured all photos that were a must have. Not only did Trung work well with us, but he worked well with the other vendors and was even able to help direct those who mostly spoke Vietnamese. We are glad we found Trung, he is the kind of person you would want to invite as a friend to your wedding. And finally, getting to see my beautiful wife on our wedding day and getting to relive the day through Trung's photos is the best money we've ever spent.

Trung is such a talented photographer and we're so happy to have him photograph our wedding. He previously photographed my friend's wedding. Fabulous Wedding Photographer! We choose Trung for our special day of the wedding at Allied Arts Guild, in Menlo Park. We had a small intimate wedding ceremony. Trung took each precious moment and captured it in time for us to save and cherish it forever. Trung is incredibly talented, and his photos are authentic, romantic, impressive and just fabulous. My husband and I had a small outdoor wedding ceremony and asked Trung to be our photographer. He was easy and flexible to work with despite changing plans because of COVID-19. He made taking the pictures fun and they came out beautifully! The process of getting the photos after the ceremony was simple and fast, and he makes it very easy to order the prints that we wanted! We highly recommend him.

Trung was an amazing photographer to work with, and the easiest of our vendors to work with. He and his wife, who typically shoots with Trung, came to the venue to tour it with us and get a feel for the area. His communication and organization are top notch. Most importantly for my wife who is camera-shy, Trung is great at making people feel comfortable around a camera, and directing poses and looks that he thought would be nice. As a hobbyist photographer, some things I really appreciated about him are he is someone who is completely ok with you taking the digital files he gives you and editing them yourself, which some photographers do not allow. He also takes amazing landscape photos, and brings those skills and artistic sensibilities into his editing and wedding photography. Other things about Trung: 1) Punctual 2) Flexible (our wedding ended up running behind and suffered a blackout at the venue, both of which he took in stride) 3) Captures great photos, posed and candid! My wife and I would hire Trung again in a heartbeat!

Trung was such a wonderful photographer! I made sure to let him know what photos I wanted to get and he made it happen. At one point it started drizzling harder and we were able to move so quickly through the family photos and got each combination we were hoping for. He helped wrangle our large bridal party (10 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen and a flower girl) and truly helped make our day special. Our photos were beautiful, and looked very natural and not overly posed, and really captured the raw energy and emotions of our guests that day. Trung and his wife were probably one of the better decisions we made for our wedding. The pictures that we received were beyond our expectations and captured the magic of our special day. Trung was very easy to work with and understood all the in's and out's of what I thought was our complicated venue. He hit every picture on our list and stayed later than we expected to get some frankly hilarious and memorable photos of the late night dancing. He was easy to work with, understanding, and professional so I cannot recommend his services highly enough.

Trung exceeded our expectations for a photographer. My now husband and I opted for a very low key wedding at SF City Hall, but wanted to have nice photos to remember the day. We “splurged” on getting a professional photographer, but really we got an outstanding deal for the quality and professionalism delivered. Trung knew exactly where to have us stand for optimal lighting, and how to have us pose while still looking natural. Since he’s had experience with city hall weddings, he helped walk us through the process and where to go. He also stretched the amount of time to more than what we agreed on to ensure we got all the photos we wanted with our families. Overall, 10/10 experience; would recommend to anyone!

One of the best choices of our wedding was that we had Trung as our photographer. From day one when we met to talk about photography packages, we knew Trung was the perfect person for the job. We were thrilled with Trung throughout the entire process - from planning to the day-of to the final products. He really shined on our wedding day. He was fun and personable, which helped put everyone at ease. He was able to make the family photos happen quickly and they looked great. He and his second shooter managed to be everywhere during the wedding while blending in seamlessly. He turned the final photos around quickly and they are wonderful. His online albums are nicely organized. It's easy to access and share the photos. He took a great mix of portraits (that don't look too fake/posed) and candids. The husband and I decided to elope at SF city hall and booked Trung to take some simple shots for us and we could not be more happy with the photos we've just received! Everything worked out perfectly. Trung was easy to book, answered all of my questions in a timely manner, came to the shoot on time, and captured BEAUTIFUL moments of the day. Trung was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Besides the incredible photos he provided in a timely manner (more on that below), he was also consistently communicative and present: having him at our wedding helped keep us comfortable throughout the day. Weeks, days, and hours before the wedding, Trung coordinated where/when to meet, helped iron out plans in case of rain, helped us pick out venues to take photos in, etc. He captured beautiful, candid moments but also provided enough structure to get all the photos of our families and friends that we wanted. It was the perfect balance of staging and capturing genuine moments. He made sure to get the required staged family photos but also turned our quirkiness into some of our favorite photos (like when we unexpectedly came across a vending machine). He and Julie were always there when we wanted a photo, but never in the way--they only ever added to our day. And, of course, the photos they took were beautiful--consistent in quality but with a variety of styles and effects. They took a stormy and rainy day and somehow made it romantic and intimate. They scoped out the best tiny spots of the venue before the day--spots that we hadn't seen even having visited multiple times! But more than that, they captured the feel of our wedding perfectly. It was chaos, hilarity, and love; that was all captured in the story of photos Trung sent us!

Trung and his second shooter, Julie, are the BEST! He photographed our wedding at The Presidio in San Francisco in December 2018 and we could not be happier with the way the photos came out. From the moment we reached out to Trung to when we received our photos, we got the absolute best services. Trung went above and beyond! He is super responsive, professional and an awesome guy to hang out with. The looks and locations Trung scoped out were the most amazing, beautiful area for us to have our photos taken. Wow, wow wow! We chose Trung for our photographer because we had a venue we loved and wanted to capture. He does AMAZING space shots as well as equally amazing portraits and details shots. He creates beautifully arranged photos and captures the candid moments in artful ways. His eye for capturing a moment was truly awe-inspiring looking at the photos. I absolutely love his work, and his personality. He is so easy going, but can corral a big group together! Everyone we have shown the photos to think they are magazine worthy, and let me tell you, my husband and I are not always the most photogenic. Yet, he made us so. He had the photos back to us so quickly as well! He provided us with three sneak peaks photos THE NEXT MORNING. We woke up, and had these amazing photos to view. Trung and Julie are hands down the best wedding photographer you will ever find. First, they are just super nice and easy going people. Me and my husband both felt so comfortable around them and it almost felt like we were close friends by the end of the wedding. Trung and Julie helped out not only the photos but even some other parts like when my husband was struggling with his bow tie, etc. Second, the quality of the photo is absolutely the best. Trung and Julie knew what part of the venue, what time of the day or what pose would be good and helped us got the best looking photos. They will make sure you look the best and capture the best moment without making you feel awkward or stressed. I was excited when I saw Trung's portfolio on his website cause he has absolutely amazing aesthetic sense but our whole photos even came out better and I can't stop looking at them!! Third, the whole process and service was stress-free and smooth. He would save you from having to go through photos and classify them or print them. He shared a couple of the best photos right after the wedding so we were able to share with friends and family. I also loved his service with how he categorized all the photos by different themes (e.g. getting ready, reception, dance etc) so it was easy to look through and also it was very easy to share with family and friends too. How you get original photos, print ones and albums were all very easy. Also I need to tell you he was very responsive entire process and was very open even with my stupid questions, etc. I can't thank enough to Trung and Julie for capturing our special day with beautiful photos and making everything so easy and smooth. I would 200% recommend them to anyone who is getting married. It almost feels like my review does not do justice to what we got from them. Just hire Trung and Julie and you will never regret.

We booked Trung as our photographer for an outdoor engagement photoshoot & for our SF city hall civil ceremony. His photos are amazing. Our family and friends really love the warm tone of his photos. Trung is amazing. Period. He did both our engagement photos as well as our big day. I could go on like everyone else and talk about how professional he is, but that doesn't capture all the things that make him such a great wedding photographer. Take a look at his website and his photos speak for themselves. His photos really fall into two categories and show his two very different strengths. First, He is a master of setting up posed photos. He uses the surroundings and lighting in the most creative and beautiful ways to create beautiful effects. He'll climb though the bushes if he has to in order to make sure he gets that perfect shot, AND he does it quickly, so you don't waste all your precious party time taking photos. (He custom made himself and his assistant, Julie, camera holsters so they can wear two cameras for close up and zoomed out shots without having to waste time changing settings or lenses.) He was also incredibly good at helping us with posing for our couples photos. He helped us relax so we wouldn't look stiff, and told us where to look whether at each other, him, or elsewhere. Honestly, the greatest part of it was that he mostly just kept us laughing and talking so we were hardly ever posing at all. Second, His candid photos throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are beyond wonderful. I love looking through my photos and seeing the moments that capture raw emotion in the most amazing ways. I can see the pure love and joy in both of our faces as we exited the ceremony, the nervousness on my face before our grand entrance into the reception, the shocked faces of our guests when my new hubby started break-dancing, and so many more. Trung does more than just take pretty pictures, he tells a story. I am so happy I chose him to capture my wedding story and I love getting to relive my special day each time I look through his amazing photos.

Trung was an amazing photographer! He was very flexible (even when we changed the location of our first look on the morning of our wedding) and made us feel relaxed. He did a great job posing us for our first look shoot and was also able to capture lots of candid moments throughout the day. That was really important to us- that he capture the energy of the day. And he definitely did! We didn't even notice him most of the time but he managed to capture all of the special moments of our day. He emailed us a link to all of the photos exactly a month after the wedding and we couldn't be more happy with the photos he provided. In addition, a few weeks later we received a lovely box in the mail with 100+ photos printed for us. This was a total surprise to us, as we hadn't ordered any, and was a very sweet gesture. In sum, Trung is a great photographer and a wonderful person to work with!

This review is long over due! I hired Trung to be my photographer for my wedding at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco. For a day that is usually stressful for the bride & groom thinking of things that could go wrong, it was a relief that by hiring Trung, photography turned out to be completely stress-free. There was absolutely no need to wait on Trung to arrive at the venue as he was already there when we showed up to take pre-wedding pictures at our agreed upon time. He took hundreds of varied pictures of ourselves and our friends/family throughout the ceremony/wedding reception and really captured the moments that mattered. Trung mastered the art of blending in as well as I rarely noticed when he was taking pictures! I also have to note that Trung stayed a little bit extra than our contracted time due to our cake cutting session running behind schedule but he was such a good sport about it. Overall, I was impressed with Trung's professionalism and quality of work; I would highly recommend using him for weddings or any occasion for that matter.

We absolutely loved how our wedding photos came out! Trung did a great job, he got a list of our must have family and friends photos beforehand, and also helped a little with our day of schedule which we appreciated! He captured all the important moments and we love his style. We would definitely recommend him to other brides and grooms!

Trung was my favorite vendor to work with. He was super responsive, detailed, and amazing with follow through. Trung and his assistant, Julie's photography was amazing and they captured all the special moments. We loved the hundreds of photos we received and he quickly helped us build three different albums for us and our families. Everything was done before deadline and with no hassle needed. Trung was probably one of our favorite wedding vendors. He did an amazing job from beginning to end. Before our wedding, we sent him a photo list which he read and sent us clarifying questions. On the day of, he brought this list with him and was careful to get all the shots we asked for. He and his second photographer Julie were both so personable and made everyone around them feel extremely comfortable. Our relatives all commented on how courteous and accommodating Trung was. In the "couples photos", my husband and I were nervous about posing because we're not really good at that so we had asked Trung to tell us how to pose. He did a great job of telling us exactly where to stand, which way to turn, how to place our arms, etc. It made a potentially awkward photo session so much easier! And the photos turned out natural and beautiful. Finally, Trung even made the process of getting photos a special experience. On the evening after the wedding, he sent us a teaser photo, which was absolutely lovely. A week before we were expecting all the photos, he sent us his blog post with a selection of highlight photos. And finally, when he shared all the photos with us, he also mailed us a lovely box with our names embossed on it, a personalized USB drive, and printed highlights photos. And all of the photos were absolutely amazing. He didn't give us thousands of photographs like some wedding photographers might do, but the 700+ photos he did share were all carefully edited and captured the emotions of our special day. Every time I look at our photos, I vividly remember all the little details, moments, and feelings we experienced. My husband and I are so thankful to Trung and Julie for documenting these life-long memories so well.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Trung and his 2nd shooter Julie. He exceeded all expectations and is the best in the business, and I’m sure of it! Throughout the entire process he was extremely professional, patient, and helpful, even down to the little details like our day-of-timeline. He was able to accommodate our every need, even traveling to South Lake Tahoe for the big day. He really listened to what we wanted and was an absolute pleasure. Trung made us both feel extremely comfortable, which made for natural-looking photos on the day of. When we finally received our wedding photos, we were on our honeymoon and seeing them for the first time completely brought us back to that special day. For someone who is critical of every little detail, I was absolutely stunned at how each and every photo was pure perfection. Where should I even start??!! Trung is amazing! I found him on Instagram and I instantly fell in love with his photos! We had our April wedding at home and the photos were to die for!! My husband and I are so happy we hired Trung and Julie to photograph our wedding. They did exactly what I was hoping to get from our wedding photos - they perfectly captured the joy that permeated our wedding day. Trung Hoang was our photographer and my husband and I are extremely pleased with the photos Trung took at our wedding in May. We loved his portfolio and his style of photography (more photojournalism rather than overly posed) and knew that we wanted a photographer who could capture all the little details that we were going to miss while we ran around with all the various wedding activities that needed our attention that day. We were even more sure after meeting Trung and found him easy to talk to, fun, and laid back and got a chance to see more samples of a full wedding shoot and his printed books (very nice quality). On the day of our wedding we had Trung and Julie, his second shooter, booked for ten hours and they worked hard the entire time. Trung managed to find the perfect backdrops for our first look and other portraits we took throughout the day. Some of our portraits are along a busy walkway but you can't tell at all by the way he framed the shots. Trung delivered photos quickly and sent us a nice package with a flash drive, a framed portrait of us, and a small box of printed photos. We plan on having Trung put together a book for us (a few copies will make great gifts for the parents) and he provided a proof very quickly. We have nothing but praise for Trung Hoang Photography and definitely recommend him to any couple looking for a wedding photographer in the Bay Area or beyond (he has great travel/landscape photos too!).

Trung is a gem. We worked with him for our wedding in June and we couldn't be happier with him or his photographs. He is laid-back, organized, and great at communicating. He is also magical. My husband and I consider ourselves to be pretty awkward in front of a camera - he made us feel so at ease that we forgot that he was taking pictures of us.
