The Tuckahoe Woman’s Club is undeniably a beautiful space to hold an event. However, my experience with the staff put a poor taste in my mouth that makes it a difficult venue to re...
commend. At our first meeting, the staff were kind and welcoming, showing us the space and helping us to imagine our special day there. On the weekend of the wedding the tune completely changed. We agreed to pay the extra $150/hour to set up the day before and were met with cold, unaccommodating and dismissive staff. Unkind comments, that I am sure they did not intend for us to hear, were made during our paid setup time that were plainly put unprofessional (“That mural cost more than their car”; “Renters just need to learn to read their contracts.”) As a bride, I was excited and nervous for the festivities to start and setting up at the venue was the first task to kick off the weekend. I had been planning my event at this venue for over a year and could not wait to see it come to life, and was given the impression with prior communication with the staff that they were also excited to host us. To be met with such unkind personalities at this time, having spent more than enough time and money coordinating the day, was very disheartening. I hope that this was just a bad day for TTWC because the space is one of a kind, however I also hope that no bride has to feel the way I did to start their wedding weekend.
We had our wedding at Tuckahoe Women’s Club, and overall the day itself turned out absolutely amazing and exactly what we had hoped for. The venue is beautiful and we couldn’t have...
been happier with how everything looked and felt on the wedding day.
That said, the experience leading up to the wedding was frustrating due to poor communication by the venue. While emails were eventually answered, responses were delayed, and I repeatedly had to follow up just to get a reply.
There was also unnecessary confusion around scheduling a planning meeting. Expectations, policies, and procedures were not clearly outlined in advance and emails were not responded to. We would have been more than willing to follow any guidelines, but the lack of communication resulted in an uncomfortable situation where we were asked to leave the venue rather abruptly and in front of our vendors. The situation could have easily been avoided with clearer communication prior to the meeting.
Overall, the venue itself is stunning and our wedding day was everything we wanted.
Very disappointing experience.

llroom (auditorium) and the reception room, guests have options for spreading out. Another advantage to the Tuckahoe is that, if you are planning an outdoor wedding and the weather is bad, the wedding can easily be moved inside. The raised stage is perfect for the bands. There is a green room and private bath available for the band plus easy access for loading and unloading equipment. The Tuckahoe has installed new beautiful floors within the last couple of years and with the tall and wide windows, the space is lovely. Highly recommend. The staff is a dream to work with - kind, helpful and ready to share ideas from other events.
Beautiful venue, staff were so accommodating and helpful. Such a wonderful experience and we had a blast!
