(this is an unsolicited review) We loved our wedding cake and really appreciated working with Twiggs. It's rare and lovely these days to have professional, responsive, helpful assistance from people who care about and take pride in what they're doing. We cannot recommend Twiggs enough for a GORGEOUS and delicious cake for your event.

Look no further for a wedding cake vendor!!! WOW is all my husband and I can say about our gorgeous cake for our wedding! Bernie, Dan, and their team gave us our dream cake by design and amazing flavor to match! We cannot rave enough about the professionalism this team displayed from conception of the idea to the execution on the wedding day as well as the delivery of an amazingly flavorful cake. 10/10 recommend this business to do your wedding cake!!

We can’t stop eating the cake! Not only was it delicious (we got the strawberry and cream, as well as lemon), but also stunning. The Twiggs team was incredibly easy to work with, and we were very impressed with the outcome. We cannot recommend Twiggs enough - we will be sure to order all of our special occasion cakes from them for years to come.

From the minute of walking into Twiggs for our tasting, we had a great feeling about the place, especially since everything tasted so delicious we had a REALLY hard time choosing which cake flavor we liked best. Dan was incredible to work with. We ended up getting a single tier cutting cake with a dessert bar, including bon-bons, cupcakes, passion fruit cups, tiramisu cups, mini key lime tarts, and a few other things. Everything looked amazing -- and, more importantly, everything TASTED amazing. We had more than 3 types of desserts per person and almost everything was demolished by the end of the night. Thank you Twiggs for incredible wedding desserts!

We could not be happier with the team at Twiggs. They are super talented and make your vision come to life . The cake was not only gorgeous but tasted incredible and our guests wanted more! Dan and Bernie at Twiggs were a dream to work with for our wedding cake. From our very first tasting - where they give you 15 different cake flavors to try - we felt so good about working with them. When we had to postpone our wedding from June 2020 to June 2021, they were incredibly easy to work with. Both Dan and Bernie fielded our many questions via email, always making us feel at ease. We ended up going with a two-flavored (passion fruit for one & chocolate buttermilk with blackberry for the other), three tiered cake and sheet cake, and the price was a steal compared to other bakeries we researched. They arranged fresh flowers we provided on the cake the day of the wedding, and the entire display was just what we wanted. We will surely be back to Twiggs for many cakes in our lifetime together, and are thankful we got to kick it all of with this one. Thank you Dan and Bernie, and everyone at Twiggs!

We ordered both a cake and micro tarts for our big day. We got endless compliments on the cake, and they were so wonderful to work with straight from the tasting.

The most delicious wedding cakes ever (we were so in love that we chose 4 different flavors)!!! Also the tasting process is by far the most organized from what we experienced.

Twiggs was highly recommended by many of our vendors including our wedding coordinator and florist, and I can see why! From start to the end, Twiggs made the whole process seamless and easy. Twiggs' flavors were original and delicious. I wanted every single flavor haha! We went with Tiramisu for our wedding cake and it was really good! We had guests who were not into sweets, love our cake! I highly recommend Twiggs Bakery!

I can’t say enough great things about Twiggs. We went to several other bakeries to taste wedding cakes before we went to Twiggs, but as soon as we tried their cake, we canceled the rest of our tastings. The cake is DELICIOUS, the prices are unbeatable, and the staff is so great about working with you to give you the wedding cake you want. I didn’t want any fondant on our cake, and they were able to find alternative solutions for decorating our cake that still gave it the elegance and wow factor we wanted. They were even able to remove the raspberry filling from the Victorian wedding cake (I loved it, but my husband hates berries so that was the only way it was allowed in the cake), and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the floral essence in the cake!

Twiggs was amazing from the first interaction (and being on a sugar high from the amazing cake tasting board and coffee didn't hurt either)! They make the process of booking a wedding cake easy by clearly outlining the options and then following up on details in a timely manner the month before the wedding. We were excited to choose a flavor that most of our Midwest guests probably don't routinely encounter (passion fruit) on one tier and were able to do carrot cake on another! I'm still team passion fruit but I have to say I've never seen so many guests absolutely ecstatic for carrot cake. People were raving it was an option! Thanks for a great wedding cake, Twiggs.

So happy we went with Twiggs Bakery for our wedding cake. The passionfruit flavor is beyond amazing! Unlike anything we've tried before. Glad we ordered extra sheet cakes so our guests could enjoy more than one slice. PS. the brownies we ordered for our favors were fudge-like and wonderful. Twiggs was amazing to work with, thank you!

We are so thankful we went with Twiggs for our wedding. We did a small cake and desert bar. The set up looked gorgeous and the guests loved all the goodies! They were so easy to work with and would highly recommend them for any occasion!

What’s not wonderful about a tasting with more than a dozen slices of yummy samples, thoughtful advice and planning, help implementing our ideas (we used our own platter and they asked us to bring it over so they could check if it could work and it did; had a consult directly with the baker, Emily, on how to select our own ribbon decoration)? My only suggestion is to follow up on paper work to confirm details. The final product was LOVELY and delicious, and instead of freezing the top layer for the first anniversary, we have been invited to order a fresh one. Yum!

Fantastic, delicious cakes!! I couldn't pick one flavor at the tasting, so we chose 3: tiramisu, passionfruit, and mexican chocolate. The guests loved it! They all shared to make sure to try each flavor! And they did a beautiful job with the flower decorations! People were especially surprised by the passionfruit! Their cakes are sweet but not too sweet, they were professional and responsive, and reasonably priced! If you're looking for amazing cakes, hire Twiggs!

Twiggs is a great bakery! We had so much fun tasting and choosing our cake! They were super patient with us and delivered exactly what we wanted at a great price. They were also really flexible in changing the size of the cake even up to a week before the wedding. People even came up to us to tell us how delicious the carrot cake was during the wedding! Success!!!

One of my friends recommended Twiggs Bakery after getting her wedding cake there years ago. I am from out of town and sent them an email about setting up a cake tasting during a quick visit. Everyone was so wonderful! We made an appointment where they had us try 15 different types of cake, and the clear winner was a chiffon cake with passion fruit curd! YUM! The cake was perfect--even delivered and set up waiting for us when we arrived at the reception. All my guests commented commented on how much they loved the cake and how perfect it was for me and our wedding!

We chose Twiggs as our bakery for our wedding cake this April. Bernie was very helpful in making suggestions for how we can serve our cake for 170 people. We never once felt pressured to select them as the bakery. We felt extremely comfortable from our cake tasting session as Bernie provided his input from past wedding experiences. During the cake tasting, Bernie provided us with complimentary coffee/refreshments which was unexpected but awesome. We chose passionfruit and white velvet. Not sure if we ever got to taste the passionfruit the day of, however, the top tier of the wedding cake was saved for us. We were able to finally have a slice of the white velvet cake and could not stop eating it! It was delicious! The cake's appearance was just what we expected. We had the helpful touch from Artistic Florals with flowers accompanying the theme of our wedding. The cake was just what we wanted. Thank you Twiggs Bakery!

Best cake ever! White Velvet buttermilk recipe with cream cheese and fruit fillings. And the cake was beautiful! So affordable and such a nice family owned business.My cake was delivered on time and looked exactly as I asked.I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend!

The wedding cake looked and tasted exactly the way we imagined. The groom's cake was a difficult sculpted cake with a Star Wars theme. They absolutely nailed it down to the last detail. Guests were very impressed with the taste and the look. Not even any leftovers on the grooms cake. Main cake was vanilla with passion fruit filling and the grooms cake was carrot. Guests raved about them both. Delivery was on time and courteous. We couldn't have asked for better.

They did a great job decorating it and then adorning it with the flowers we left them at the venue. Amazingly delicious cake too!

They were always easy to communicate with through the process and had a lot of options on cake flavors. Cake tasted good and showed up exactly as ordered.

We had our wedding through Hornblower cruises and this was one of their contracted bakeries. My husband wanted to go with them because he thought their work looked better than the other bakeries we could choose from. I wish we could have gone for a cake tasting, as offered as part of the package, but this was a destination wedding for us. The staff was great to work with and very accomadating to what we wanted. They added a filling (raspberry to go with the cream cheese) without an extra fee. We did have to pay extra for the sugar flowers we wanted, but prices were very reasonable (I think $5 per flower, I can't remember exactly). They even dyed fondant to use for the ribbon around the base because they couldn't find actual ribbon to match the color I wanted. The cake was beautiful on our wedding day, and tasted good as well!

We worked with cake consultant Nima to design our dream wedding cake. We tasted all the options and chose a white velvet 3-tier cake to feed 80 people. It had strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. It was moist and tasted amazing on our wedding night. The portions are larger than most other cake shops we checked out. They also delivered the cake for free and added a cake topper and fresh roses on site. We plan to use them again- amazing cake for a great price. Thanks for making our wedding special!

Twiggs was bar none the cheapest bakery I found in San Diego, especially after the military discount they offer. I did a tasting (48 flavors!) which was free, a great thing, I might add. And they didn't get mad when I went back and had to try a few a second time because I couldn't make up my mind. The cake was DELICIOUS! White chiffon strawberry and cream filled. Yum! If I need a cake for anything, I will go back to them.

Twiggs was one of the vendors suggested by our venue and my husband and I are so happy we got our cake from this local shop. Their website spells out everything and gives you all the available flavors that you will have in your tasting. We ended up with a 3 tier round cake with 2 layers of Key Lime Coconut and 1 tier of Mexican Chocolate. They were made from scratch and were soooo moist and flavorful, nothing like wedding cakes of old. We went with simple buttercream frosting in a scrollwork and swiss dot pattern, with fresh flowers for the top and sides. I didn't care for the first example of scrollwork they showed me so I sent some photos of what I did like and they were able to do that perfectly. Almost everything was accomplished by email, which was a real plus for me. We also liked that we were keeping our business within our own community.

I'm so happy I used Twigg's Bakery to create my daughter's wedding cake for her recent wedding in San Diego. The cake was beautifully decorated and it tasted delicious! Their cakes are made from scratch and the cake was moist and fresh and guests were generous in their praise. Too often wedding cakes are the least enjoyable part of the meal, but the cake from Twigg's was the exclamation point at the end of the meal. The cake tasting was also a very pleasant occasion. Twigg's allowed my daughter and son-in-law to taste all the possible flavors they make and they had a difficult time choosing one because they were all so good. They ended up choosing a yellow cake with raspberry filling and a buttercream frosting. Wow! I also used Twigg's to create gingerbread heart-shaped cookies that were half dipped in chocolate and the cookies were fresh and tasty. You won't be sorry if you use this bakery!

Twiggs is a cool place and a great bakery! We ordered our wedding cake from here. We actually booked them in fall 2012 for our October 2013 wedding, as we were moving out of state and our wedding was becoming a destination affair for us! We set up a cake tasting with Twiggs after researching independent reviews like these, and we are so happy we did. I had originally been attracted to Twiggs because I saw that their flavor list included chiffon cake, but in the end we fell for their Mexican Chocolate and White Velvet cake during our tasting appointment. We booked the deposit on the spot, and didn’t venture anywhere else! It was great working with them via e-mail and phone call; very easy to communicate what we were looking for in terms of style. Fast forward to the wedding day, and our cake turned out beautifully! We had them reproduce three colors, one for each of our 3 tiers, in frosted flat buttercream. The colors were perfect. Twiggs delivered the cake on schedule, and set it up as requested. (We needed some extra time as we were having our florist add fresh flowers to the cake that meshed with our floral design. We also were using a rented stand from a different vendor.) We highly recommend Twiggs’ wedding cakes to other brides, grooms and event planners!

I cannot say enough about twiggs! The cakes I had at my wedding were so good, everyone loved them! The team at twiggs was so accommodating as well, I came in with a sketch of how I wanted the cakes to look and they had no problem replicating it! My only compliment was that the main cake was suppose to be a white velvet but when we cut into it the bottom layer has raspberry filling which I did not order, I hate filling and would never order it.

Twiggs was truly awesome! The cake was phenomenal and everyone raved about it. Our tasting was wonderful and it was so lovely to be able to taste everything they had to offer (I think 20-25 cakes in all). We decided on the strawberries and creme for the 3-tier cake, as well as cupcakes in Miss Hazeltine with chocolate filling and Red Velvet with cream cheese filling. I also got a groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner in the shape of an Atari 7800 system. OMG it was INCREDIBLE!!!!! Seriously it could not have been more perfect. It came complete with controllers and a Donkey Kong cart. I would attach the picture if I could. :) The design was lovely and the Twiggs employees who delivered the cake had to battle with an uncooperative cake topper for what I'm told was about an hour (to no avail). But in the photos, it looked awesome (and I had no idea). I could not have been happier with this vendor and would highly recommend them! The taste, service and responsiveness is really top notch. Thanks Twiggs!!

Loved our cake and the design was beautiful exactly what we asked for. The only thing is that the cupcake stand was a bit unsteady. Apart from that loved it I'd definitely use them again.

We used Twiggs Bakery for our wedding cake and couldn't have been more pleased! The tasting was the best we had and honestly every flavor of cake was so good that we couldn't decide which 2 to pick! The cake turned out gorgeous and exactly how I pictured it! They even used our flowers to decorate it and it was so pretty!!! I would recommend Twiggs Bakery for anybody looking for a wedding cake!

We ordered our wedding cake from Twiggs Bakery. It was so easy to set up the appointment, one call, show up, pick your drink, and taste over 15 delicious cakes. The guy was so nice. Once you had that initial appointment you were DONE! You pick your cake and colors and they show up to deliver the day of your wedding. EASY! They were great at keeping your budget, working with your wedding colors and the cake is GOOD! We chose the lemon poppy seed,and everyone at the wedding kept talking about the cake, asking if they could take some home!! It was delicious!! The price was great, and the people were amazing.

This was our second bakery we went to for cake tasting and the last. We sat down Bernie who brought us a tray filled with slices of all the different cake flavors along with a side of the frosting. He walked us through every flavor, and they were all delicious! We settled on a white velvet cake with a lemon cream, raspberry jam filling and a buttercream frosting. The design was a simple one of ribbon, roses and swirls. When I saw the cake for the first time it was exactly how I pictured it and it tasted just as good. I can't wait for my anniversary to order a mini cake and eat it again! Side note, their bakery is actually at the Adam's Ave location not the Park Blvd one that is listed above.

I opted to have a small wedding cake for 35 people and then to have a variety of mini desserts (total 85 ppl at wedding). The way they arranged the dessert table was so beautiful. My cake was not only stunning, but delicious as well. I was completely satisfied with my choice to use Twiggs bakery. They are truly experts in desserts and the value was great too. I highly recommend Twiggs if you are looking for great desserts for your wedding or any other occasion.

Twiggs Bakery was one of our favorite venue choices from the tastings to the day of! We arrived at the bakery a little early and were offered a beverage while we waited. Being a place of business, the baker was a tad delayed, but extremely friendly! After apologizing and letting us know she would be with us shortly, she also offered us a free meal for our patience. During the tasting, we were given a board of at least 15 different flavors. We were given as much time as we needed to taste the flavors and offered yet another drink for our tasting. The baker listened to our decoration ideas and went to the computer to pull up some images. Once we chose a flavor, she showed us the images and drew up the exact design we were hoping for. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase and we were even encouraged to do other tastings before making a decision. We ended up choosing them because their flavors were to die for and they work with local distributors to be sure our local community is supported as well. We got an additional surprise the day of the wedding as well. We thought our bamboo design was going to be piped on, but we were given a rolled chocolate bamboo instead! Absolutely stunning! (And their buttercream frosting was so smooth you would have thought it was fondant!)

First of all I need to start out by saying the cake was delicious. I was a prior customer of the coffee shop and knew the quality of the baked goods. The flavor did not disappoint. Now let's talk about the design. I met with one guy who was pretty nice. We talked over the design and I provided him with color samples and inspiration pictures. For the grooms cake I actually brought in the antique helmet we wanted duplicated. Leaving there I felt happy about my cake selection, especially with the very reasonable price tag. I received an email with a drawing. It was close to what I wanted. So I made the note about the difference in design. Despite bringing the helmet to the consultation, I got a request for pictures. Ok, no biggy. I sent it over and that was that. The next thing I heard was the confirmation a week and a half before the wedding. I confirmed that he received the pictures for the groom's cake, since I received no response email. He confirmed. The gentleman I talked to this time was a little abrupt. He asked me about flowers for the cake. I told him, as I told the first man during the design stage, that I wanted NO flowers on my cake. Paid my bill and that was that. Flash forward to the day of my wedding. My planner walks me through the reception room and the first thing I see are flowers on my cake?!!! Remember that earlier note about the design being close but not exactly what I want....completely ignored. Remember how there were color samples, one of the three was not even close. My grooms cake? I was very disappointed. I gave them a brown aged looking helmet and I received a green dome. Just thinking about the cake makes me mad all over again. Taste did not make up for how disappointed I was in the execution of my design. No flowers means no flowers! After I posted this review on another wedding website I received an apology email from Dan at Twiggs. He recognized what went wrong and did not that while they have fixed the glitches in their system it was too late for me. Before the apology my star rating was lower than it is now.

Our experience with Twiggs was more than words can describe! Our tasting was with Bernie and it was a blast! We could hang out with him for hours! Soooo fun! All the flavors to choose from... we were overwhelmed because every single one of them were delicious. We decided on the white velvet as my husband and I became addicts to this stuff! We live about 2 hours outside of San Diego and every time we drove to SD for wedding planning appointments, our top priority on our way home was to stop by to pick up 2 slices of white velvet, we would savor every bite. So you can only imagine how excited we were for wedding! About 2-3 months before our wedding, I wanted to do a grooms cake of the Dodger Stadium and emailed Dan (such a pleasure to work with) to see if they could work it in. He had a very busy schedule for our wedding weekend but was still able to fit this in. I was speechless! The Dodger Stadium replica grooms cake was AMAZING!!!! My husband just about fell over when he saw it and all his guys could not staring, taking pictures of it, and oooing and ahhhing at it. To Bernie, Dan, and your whole team - Thanks a million! We loved both our cakes and always will stop by when we are in town for all your delicious teas, coffees, and sweet treats!

Immediately after meeting the staff of Twiggs, I knew that they would be making our wedding cakes. We loved the format of their tasting - they present you with a small sample board with all of their cakes, they explain each cake and then leave you to discuss & taste. Their cakes are so amazing! We ordered cakes in 5 different flavors. I gave them a photo of the decoration and they matched it exactly. The cakes arrived on time...and were perfect! You cannot match the quality of their cakes for the price. Plus, Bernie & Dan are super personable & responsive. I would DEFINITELY recommend Twiggs!

We loved loved loved our passionfruit cake from twiggs. We have a few "sweets haters" in the family and even they ate more than one piece! Service was great, quality was great, and we'll be ordering an 8" version every year on our anniversary.

This is the cutest little bakery ever. The staff is so nice and helpful. Our cake was gorgeous. I wanted to order something unique and yummy that everyone would like for our wedding favors. Dan helped me choose 130 small brownies for our favors. They were a hit!! So good and so cute, got a lot of complements! They also offer a great military discount since my husband is in the military... Very helpful when planning on a budget. Amazing value for the price

This bakery came recommended by my wedding coordinator. They had great service and spent much time with us to go over the cake flavors and even suggest some custom ways to make the cake suite our taste (literally!). I wish I could give them 5 stars but there must have been some kind of miscommunication, because the design of the cake was not exactly what I had asked for. I brought a picture to show an element of the cake pictured that I wanted on my cake, but they ended up just copying the picture and not reading the notes. However, the cake was still beautiful and tasted great!

This was one of the favorite parts of my wedding planning. Twiggs is also a coffee shop and as my husband was not much of a cake guy, my mom and I had a cake tasting date. It was so much fun! All of the cakes were delicious. Bernie(one of the owners) sat with us with binders of pictures and helpful information and then let us enjoy our tasting, only to return and plan out my wedding cake. We got the AMAZING white velvet with cream cheese frosting with pecans. I like cake but I'm usually disappointed in giant wedding cakes on the taste. This cake was SO DELICIOUS!!! My guests were actually eating it, with seconds and talking about how good it was. Great value. I got exactly what I asked for, beautiful with my gerbera daisies on top. They actually brought the cake to our boat that morning to deliver and finish decorating at the siteCan't wait to dig in to the top layer on my 1st anniversary!! Great website with LOTS of pictures too!

I took in a picture to give Twiggs and idea of what I wanted my cakes to look like. I appreciated how thoughtful they were, listened to my ideas and created beautiful designs that were exactly what I wanted. Very friendly and they produce great work!

Twiggs Bakery is my #1 vendor for my wedding. The cake was incredible tasting, many of my guests wanted multiple pieces. I wanted to combine some flavors of different types of cakes they had set out for me, and they were willing to do that for no extra charge. Additionally, I showed them a picture of a design on a cake that I'd never seen before-and they'd never done before- and they did an amazing job. They weren't limited in their design or skill; which I ran into from other bakers. Also, their cake was reasonably priced and give a large discount for military as well. I can't recommend them enough!!
