We live in Florida and wanted to have our wedding in the mountains in Asheville. We were referred to Nicole from someone at the Biltmore who had previously worked in event planning with her there - we were told she was the best in Asheville, and he was not wrong! Nicole is THE BEST. She is organized, on top of things, knows everything about weddings and vendors (and if she is unsure, she will contact the right people to get the answer timely); she is real and straight to the point - she will give you her honest opinion; she made our wedding day run so smoothly and perfectly and I truly could not have asked for anyone better. I am so thankful for Nicole and her expertise, and would recommend her to everyone in a heartbeat! She will make sure you never feel stressed or overwhelmed - she's got it all handled!

Nicole ensured our entire wedding weekend (we did rehearsal dinner and welcome reception at Antler Hill Village, ceremony and reception at Diana, and farewell brunch at the Inn on Biltmore) went smoothly. It was a lot to coordinate/manage but she nailed it. I loved working with her, my husband loved her, my family loved her....even our recently married guests were raving about how amazing our wedding coordinator was. This was a complex weekend affair with multiple events: a large rehearsal dinner and then a Welcome Reception on Friday at the Grove Park Inn, a ceremony at a Chapel an hour drive away with transportation for the wedding party and shuttle buses for all of our guests and then a formal Wedding Reception followed by an After Party on Saturday at the Grove Park Inn. The planning for all of this was extensive, and we worked with Nicole for over a year on it. She was incredibly well organized, creative, and proactive. She gave us great referrals for all of our vendors (we loved every one of them that we hired) and was a strong and effective advocate for us when needed. Her trouble shooting and “day of” coordination for each of these events was incredible as well. Everything was beautiful, smooth and seamless. Many of our guests commented about how beautiful and well-coordinated everything was. Nicole was always quick to respond with emails or phone calls and never anything but pleasant and reassuring to deal with. There were a lot of standard traditions that didn't fit into my desire around our wedding and Nicole was really great at bouncing ideas back and forth with me to help create exactly what I wanted. The process started with our phone call (because I live in California) and then a questionnaire which was an awesome way to start clarifying what I was looking for. She helped me stay on top of everything from the very beginning with regular timeline check-ins leading up to the week of and then a detailed plan for the week of. She accompanied us to the rental house appointment and I remember in that moment being so grateful that I didn't have to know what diameter table cloth you need for a cocktail table height and could lean on her for all that kind of stuff. I can honestly say that our wedding was perfect. Everything that was in our control was 100% and everything that was our of our control added richness to the stories. Nicole's superstar moment was on this beautiful sunny day, the minute I got to the front of the isle, it started raining. I just laughed and was ready to embrace however much water was headed our way, but Nicole transformed into a super-star track runner and sprinted alllll the way back to the reception barn, somehow coordinated getting umbrellas to all 120 guests, and us, in under 2 minutes. Literally. If there is any wedding planer who would care about your wedding like it was their own, it's Nicole. We had a very unique wedding and she got every single little detail right, from coordinating and planning with the vendors, to facilitating the flow of the event, and even small details like making sure our slideshow that played throughout the wedding was working properly. We went with the option of having her coordinate the day of the wedding, but leading up to the event she always was available to answer questions and serve as a sounding board when we had ideas and weren't sure how to make them a reality. I am grateful that she allowed us to send items to her home for decoration of the venue. There are several things that were a bit concerning: 1. Vendor communication: The day before the wedding, we had some transitions with the wedding timeline to include a location change and Nicole reassured me that all vendors were notified of the changes. After reading an e-mail sent to the vendors in regards to a location change, the vendor was in fact NOT notified via e-mail or phone and ended up showing up in the wrong location. It put us behind 30 minutes on our getting ready timeline. 2. My bridal bouquet was never collected after the reception and it was a MUST that I wanted to have after the wedding. It was never found, even at the venue the day after. I personally had to go to the venue to search for it. 3. The lack of engagement during the rehearsal. Other than course direct the ceremony entrance and lineup, a few of the ceremony semantics, and the exit, Nicole was on her cell phone and even left during the rehearsal to answer a phone call during the rehearsal. She even yelled at my husband in a private office prior to rehearsal regarding tardiness, etc. 4. Being considerate to family's wishes: not all families will have the same classic wedding traditions-my mother requested a few things regarding a few family and cultural traditions and was then questioned as to why the request was even being made. “That’s not how we usually do things,” should not be the answer. 5. Introduction of her day-of assistant. Nicole had her day-of assistant, and nobody (vendors, myself, my family) was introduced to her prior to the event. Her assistant should have been with the bridal party during photos and coordination of the transportation. The photographer shouldn’t have to call the coordinator to figure out where transport is if she has an assistant. 6. Responsiveness. We met with her way back in December for a wedding the following October. I felt that Nicole lacked the ability to be more responsive. There were a few occasions where I would receive a text from Nicole, I would call her right back, but then not receive an answer. Why text me if you aren’t available for conversation? There was a particular conference call on September 6th that was scheduled and she completely forgot. I tried to call her, but she again, didn’t pick up the phone. I ended up getting a text the next day saying that she was confused about the time, etc. Overall, Nicole was very positive. Attention to detail as a planner or coordinator is paramount and I appreciate her experience in the wedding industry. We were impressed with her detailed wedding timeline. I would recommend her for her knowledge with the local Asheville wedding vendors but I would not recommend her to overall plan my wedding or even day-of-coordination services. She just didn’t have the attention to detail and professionalism that I would expect.

However, Nicole took care of everything while making it seem like a walk in the park. I would have been a nervous wreck without her. Even with that though, Nicole gave me great input and helped me to feel okay with not inviting some people. My mother had recently passed, which made the planning process much more emotional and difficult. She served as a great sounding board for the multiple wedding decisions that come up for my dad and me. I never felt pushed in any directions and felt like she guided me to figure out what I wanted and then just made it happen. My dad said after the wedding that she was worth her weight in gold, and she was! Nicole is just one of those people that is doing exactly what she is supposed to do with her life, and it shows. She seemed just as invested in my wedding being amazing as me, and sometimes more so ☺ She is one of my favorite memories of the wedding process and certainly, the best decision that I made in the planning. I could not recommend her highly enough. Now, that my wedding is done, I am amazed at how many details were coordinated and how beautifully it was executed on the wedding day. I had and still am receiving so many compliments on what a beautiful wedding it was. You will not regret choosing Nicole as your wedding planner.
