**Set among 650 acres of rolling meadows and pristine woodlands in Media, Pennsylvania, Tyler Arboretum offers a setting unparalleled for its natural beauty, historic charm, and true romance. Here, Mother Nature's talents set the stage for breathtaking weddings held amid butterfly-filled gardens, towering trees, fields of wildflowers, and centuries-old structures.
WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT TYLER HAS COMPLETED A $1.2 MILLION RENOVATION PROJECT INCLUDING RENOVATION OF OUR CIRCA1792 BARN AND NEW TENTS EQUIPPED WITH BISTRO LIGHTING AND FANS.
Tyler's collections provide exquisite backdrops every season of the year. In spring, the perfume of hundreds of lilacs, magnolias, and rhododendrons fill the air, while the herb-filled Fragrant Garden comes to life in the summer sunshine. By autumn, the turning leaves of centuries-old trees steal the show. The beauty continues into winter with the snow-laden branches of state-champion conifers and hollies.
Within the stone bank barn, circa 1834 and tenting over an adjacent patio, we can accommodate up to 200 guests which overlook a rolling valley of majestic trees and a babbling stream. Our newly renovated Barn can also accommodate up to 140 guests for dining. The porch and lawn of another historic structure, Lachford Hall, circa 1738, are ideal for ceremonies and cocktails. The Arboretum's many gardens and charming structures offer unlimited backdrops for photography.
Dating back to a 1681 land grant from William Penn, Tyler has remained an oasis of tranquility for centuries. Twenty miles of marked trails encourage visitors to explore one of the oldest and largest arboreta in the United States. This exceptional rustic Delaware County wedding venue is located only 30 minutes west of Philadelphia in an area offering several charming bed and breakfasts.

This venue is stunning! It's such a relief that the indoor option in case it rains is also beautiful so we have zero worries about weather for our Fall 2025 wedding! Also just had our group tasting and JAM catering did not disappoint!
My fiancé and I visited a dozen venues until we found our dream venue in Tyler Arboretum. We were getting worn out by the search for our wedding, but when we met Coby at Tyler, he changed our entire outlook completely. He made the tour exciting as well as informational. We knew Tyler was our venue after spending a short afternoon there with Coby. The lush gardens, the greenery, and fun and quirky atmosphere are perfect. We cannot wait to say our vows in the Magnolia Gardens this coming April.
Tyler Arboretum is a beautiful wedding venue! We worked with Coby when we got started and he gave us great recommendations, including the butterfly weekend! You have several options for where you want cocktail hour versus dinner versus dancing. They do not mandate vendors but their preferred vendors list helped narrow down our search. Dana, our wedding coordinator, was wonderful and patient. We are looking forward to our August 3rd wedding!
Our experience with Coby at the Tyler Arboretum was exceptional. Within minutes of arriving on the property, Coby's deep knowledge and passion for the venue were evident. He effortlessly highlighted the beauty and potential of the arboretum, making it easy for us to envision our event there. Despite visiting in January, Coby vividly painted a picture of what it would be like in August. Coupled with JAM Catering's detailed look books, the planning process became not only seamless but also incredibly enjoyable.
JAM Catering truly excels in personalizing their services to meet the unique needs of each couple. They go above and beyond to ensure that the menu is flawlessly tailored and meticulously curated. With a wide array of options for each course, they are also incredibly attentive to allergies, making their offerings both diverse and considerate.
We are so incredibly excited for our upcoming wedding at Tyler Arboretum! Throughout the planning process, all JAM staff have been excellent with their communication. We know that our guests are in for a treat with JAM catering and we are so elated to get married the gorgeous arboretum setting!
Tyler Arboretum is such an amazingly beautiful venue to have a wedding. We had our ceremony outside and had virtually no decorations as it was not needed in such a beautiful setting. The barn provided such a beautiful indoor setting for our reception, and for our group of around 100 it was the perfect size for everyone to eat, dance, and mingle comfortably. I couldn’t be happier that we chose this location for our wedding and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar setting!
Having our wedding at Tyler Arboretum in the fall was a dream setting! Melissa was a fantastic coordinator to work with and felt like a partner leading up to our wedding day. On the day of, she kept everything running on time without being pushy - which is hard to do! JAM catering in general was very good and we did receive many compliments from guests on the food. Working with them had the pros and cons you would expect from a large catering company that manages a lot of venues - overall, still an excellent experience.
Our team photographed a wedding this month at Tyler Arboretum! It has such beautiful grounds to explore! The tented reception let a lot of natural light in.
Tyler Arboretum is a beautiful and magical venue! We loved the gorgeous grounds, tent, and barn and received many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the venue was. JAM was wonderful to work with from the very start to the actual day. They were true professionals making sure our wedding day was exactly what we wanted. The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly. Our planner Lindsay did a phenomenal job helping us plan and coordinating the day of!
We loved our wedding at Tyler Arboretum and are so glad that we chose to have our wedding there. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was - both appetizers and entrees! The JAM team was extremely helpful in the day of execution and everything went seamlessly. We had 194 people at our event and a 9 piece band and were worried the venue would feel too small. It was snug at that size but it worked and was cozy on a 58 degree late October evening! As things came up during the planning process the team helped us to find solutions and the next best course of action. Thank you for such a special day for us and our family and friends!
Tyler Arboretum is a magically beautiful place and my husband and I are so grateful that we were lucky enough to get married here. We knew we were in good hands with the JAM catering team -- everyone we worked with there was responsive and seemed truly invested in making our day everything we hoped it would be. The food was delicious and our guests had a great experience!
My now husband and I loved that Tyler had so many different spaces to choose from for different aspects of our wedding. We also appreciated that the barn and tent made it so that we could still have a beautiful wedding even if we had to execute a rain plan. We ended up getting married outside in a light rain and then having our cocktails + dinner under the tent and dancing + dessert in the barn. For anyone worried about the venue being spread out, they provided golf carts for my grandparents who had challenges with mobility and someone from the JAM team was always ready to help anyone in need of assistance. It was a truly magical experience and our guests raved about the wedding -- I would absolutely recommend Tyler to anyone looking for an unforgettable wedding venue!
We were so happy with how our wedding day went! Tyler arboretum is such a beautiful venue. There is a variety of locations to make your wedding day special. We had our ceremony behind Lachford Hall and our reception in the barn. It was an 80 person wedding which felt intimate. The lovely venue made our whole wedding day even more emotional and people couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and classy it was. The food was wonderful, and all of the staff was so friendly and prompt with service. Most importantly our planner Lindsay helped us with the whole process which made it such a stress free day.
My Fiancé and I are planning our wedding at Tyler Arboretum and it has been such a pleasure to work with the Tyler Team! We feel like we are in great hands and cannot wait for our wedding day at this beautiful venue. Not only is the venue stunning but our venue coordinator Dana has been so responsive and helpful with the planning tools and guidance. It has made the planning process so much easier!
We are beyond excited to have our wedding at Tyler Arboretum in September. Everything has been falling into place so nicely and Jeffery A. Miller Catering has been incredible to work with!
We are so freaking excited to celebrate our wedding at Tyler Arboretum this July! The planning has been seamless so far. Our venue coordinator has been incredibly responsive, accommodating, and calming. The grounds are breathtaking, and somehow manages to have an intimate yet spacious feeling. The beautifully lit barn literally made my jaw drop when I walked in. The JAM catering package looks delicious: very farm to table, high quality food. Not your typical blah “wedding food.” We could not be happier!
We are absolutely in love with our wedding venue selection of Tyler Arboretum. Tyler is a very special location for myself and my fiance due to it being the location where we got engaged. It is such a beautiful environment and we have many amazing memories there already, we're excited to be planning our future wedding here! Our coordinator Veronica has been extremely helpful in supporting us to have the most amazing day we can dream up! They have really great recommended vendors as well as an amazing contracted caterer JAM Catering. We are so excited to celebrate our love here at Tyler with our friends and family and are thrilled to be working closely with the Tyler Arboretum staff as well as JAM Catering!
Getting married at Tyler was really incredible. JAM did an amazing job with the catering and preparation. Our wedding coordinator and day of planner (specifically Christy, Carol, and Doris) were so helpful, making all of the stressful aspects of planning a wedding much more tolerable and easy. The food was delicious, and the staff was polite and went out of their way to help make the whole day perfect. From set up to take down, they were very hands on and incredibly professional. The only reason I am giving them 4/5 stars is just because they withheld a portion of our security deposit due to glitter in the barn. We understood when signing the contract that we were not permitted to have or throw rice, confetti, glitter, etc. which we did not bring to our wedding in any way, shape, or form. Our personal inventory, which Tyler had before our wedding day, did not include anything that was prohibited. We can only assume that part of our deposit was withheld due to a guest wearing a VERY glittery dress--one that transferred glitter even from giving this guest a hug--and as she was definitely someone dancing a lot, that may explain any glitter in the barn where we had our reception. It was a bit disappointing that we did not receive any pictures or proof showing this glitter, so we could see what they were referring to, since we really had no clue where it came from (if not from the guest's clothing). In the future, Tyler should inform their clients that their guests should not wear sparkly/glittery clothes to avoid something like this happening. In the end, it was a minor hiccup in an otherwise perfect day, and I'd happily recommend the Tyler Arboretum to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue. Just don't wear glitter ;)
Jeffrey Miller Catering at Tyler were fantastic. The venue is gorgeous, the food was amazing, and most importantly their head event planner, Rachael Reach, and her entire team could not have been better. Rachael was super competent, responsive, warm and enthusiastic and never missed a beat. Also we used JAM's florist, Buttercup, and the flowers were to die for. My daughter and son-in-law said it was the best night of their lives and you can't ask for anything better than that!
Thank you so much for EVERYTHING! Our wedding looked perfect and everyone was raving about how nice the venue was and how delicious the food was. The last minute swap for the ceremony worked out so well, everyone loved that cocktail hour was right there! The JAM staff did an amazing job handling last minute changes due to rain and fixing the little hiccups that always pop up at weddings. You have been amazing to work with and answering all my silly questions. Our day turned out to be amazing and it would not have been possible without Emily, Vil and the rest of the JAM staff!
Everyone we worked with at Tyler was professional and responsive throughout the wedding planning process and on our wedding day. I was able to relax and know that all the details were being handled by Tyler's staff. The food was amazing and the venue is so beautiful with everything blooming! We got so many compliments about how perfect everything was and multiple people told us it was one of the best weddings they had been to. We would highly recommend Tyler to anyone searching for venues!
Thank you and everyone on the JAM team. On what was supposed to be our wedding day, its hard not think about what could have been, but with all the support we have gotten from all of you, its easy to imagine what will be on our new date.
I am super appreciative for how easy your team is making this switch to a new date, and all the flexibility during these crazy times. Glad that we can focus on staying healthy and safe, knowing that we have the dream team helping us make our wedding day awesome even if it is not what we originally planned. Thank you for answering the endless questions, listening when we needed to vent, providing endless and helpful information, and just being available at any time. It is certainly making this whole process so much easier.
Kev and I thank you sincerely for all that you guys have done so far, and all that is to come. We are excited for what June holds, the chance to see everyone we care about, and the chance to celebrate something special.
Hoping you and your families are staying safe and healthy during this time.
Looking forward to working with you all in the near future!
Thank you for everything! ❤

We had our wedding at Tyler Arboretum on October 4th and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. None of it would have been possible without our amazing coordinator, Cassie. She made our whole experience extremely enjoyable, stress free and fun! From the ceremony in the magnolia garden to the reception in the barn, every second of our wedding was a dream!
Hands down, you will not regret having your ceremony/reception at Tyler Arboretum! We were planning our wedding for a little over a year and from day 1 there was not one issue whatsoever. They are extremely organized, kind, patient, and accommodating. We were promised that our big day would be stress free and they 100% delivered that promise to us. My husband and I keep receiving compliments on how amazing the venue was, how delicious the food was, and how the wedding was the best wedding they had ever been to. I honestly could write a book on how amazing Tyler Arboretum was. We sincerely wish we could have our wedding one more time because of how much fun we had.
Cassie was our event coordinator and she absolutely nailed every single detail that I had in mind. She was also very responsive to my emails, texts and phone calls. At our initial consultation, I could tell right away how focused she was on making sure our wedding day was literally the best day ever. She was by far the best!
We could not have dreamed a more perfect day for our wedding! Everything was amazing including the food, cake, ambience, staff, and service! The location options for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all breathtaking and staged perfectly. We loved the fact that we had flexibility that wasn’t impacted by budget. Not to mention, a weatherproof plan B just in case. Cassie, our wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing! She was super responsive to emails, answered all of our questions, and made the entire planning process completely painless and fun. She took our vision that we had for our day and brought it to life! She definitely understood us as a couple and we were very thankful and lucky to have that from her! Cassie and the entire JAM and Tyler staff made our day a dream come true! We could not have asked for a more perfect day!
We truly had the most incredible wedding experience, and wedding day, thanks to JAM Catering at Tyler Arboretum! The venue is managed by JAM, and they really take care of everything! Our wedding coordinator, Cassie, was amazing throughout the entire process of planning our wedding! She and her team really made the process of planning our wedding really organized and enjoyable. The staff were accommodating for food allergies and restrictions both before and the day of, they had a lot of resources we could use and some great recommendations if they didn't have something on site, and Cassie was very responsive when we had questions. She really brought our vision for our wedding to life! And, when it rained on the day of our wedding and our vision had to be altered, Cassie was there to make it happen! We lost power during our ceremony, and Cassie and her team quickly set up candles and guided us, our photographer, and our DJ through a beautiful candelight ceremony in The Barn! She was calm and supportive throughout the entire ordeal, making it that much less stressful. After all, you can't control the weather, but you can control how you respond to it, and Cassie's response saved our day! Thanks, Cassie and JAM Catering, for making our wedding day the most incredible day of our lives!
Beautiful location - everything I ever wanted.
Good Food. Very accommodating for people with food allergies and restrictions.
Amazing Staff. They went above and beyond. My wedding coordinator was just awesome!
Drop-off, DIY decorating and clean-up is a pain though - you need a team of support since it's a public space and essentially you set up the day of your wedding. And you also need take down the same night.
I never expected my wedding day to be the best day of my life. I know that sounds weird, but I just didn’t buy it. I have had a lot of wonderful moments in my life and I was way more excited for my upcoming marriage to the best human in the planet than I was for this one very expensive, very stressful (the planning, I mean) day. Especially because I live in San Francisco and wouldn’t be visiting the area more than once before my wedding day. I was excited, but I truly had no idea what I was getting myself into. On every single front, May 20, 2018 was the best day of my life. And honestly, I don’t know how anything else will ever compare. All of my favorite people in the world were gathered in a fairytale-like setting, celebrating my now-husband and my choice to be forever legal life buds. I felt like unicorns could have walked through the venue at any point and it wouldn’t have even been weird. That’s how magical it was. But a TON of work went into it. And so much of that happened on Tyler Arboretum and JAM’s side of things. For me and my groom, we picked Tyler Arboretum for the obvious reasons: We loved the beautiful barn, the fact that we wouldn’t be paying extra for the amazing tents, the trees and flowers, and the MULTIPLE options for a rain plan. We didn’t realize how much of a game-changer having a day-of coordinator (who also was our point of contact for the six months leading up to the wedding) would be. Or that the cost of the tents, linens, plates and utensils was included. And the servers. And the bartenders. Those little things added way up and saved us a ton of money, hassle and brain space. As for our jobs, my husband and I invited all of our favorite people from every stage of our lives, we picked our favorite songs, designed a ceremony that rang true to us, picked a menu and got our wedding parties in order. My amazing mother got incredibly crafty and organized the beautiful decorations and completely handled liaising with Buttercup, the florist. Even after the eternity we spent on those details, there was a lot we never even considered — and those things ended up dictating the flow and ambiance of the entire day. Even in my wildest dreams, I never could have imagine how perfect Tyler Arboretum and JAM could make my wedding day. Emily was our coordinator and I am pretty sure she is an angel masquerading around as a human. She did an incredible job explaining to us all the things we could do at our venue and entertained ideas of things she hadn’t seen before. She helped us figure out exactly how much alcohol to buy and made sure we felt excited as we made each decision. Then there was the actual wedding day. She is why our day went how it did (she and my maid of honor who should have been wearing a superwoman costume as far as I am concerned). From the moment we arrived, Emily greeted us, pointed us to the things we should see, and got us where we needed to go. From that moment on, my brain just turned off planning mode and entered live-in-the-moment mode. At every cue, Emily was there, nudging the right players into place. Listen here, brides. THIS IS A GAME CHANGER. I didn’t think about anything on my wedding day. I just smiled and absorbed every moment. Still, no one missed any of the things they need to do. We picked every little thing we wanted to do, say or see and Emily and her team made sure we got the day of our dreams — down to every tiny detail. She made sure our families knew where they should go at each part of the evening, she made sure my husband and I ate, she found us and moved us into the next stages of the night: dances, cake cutting, etc. I felt like I was truly attending my own party vs throwing it. This place is the whole package. Get married here and the amazing staff will make sure nothing falls through on your day. I would do it over again 100 times. Thank you for the most beautiful day of our lives! If only we could relive it.
Tyler Arboretum was such a beautiful venue to get married at! The flowers and grounds are just breathtaking! So much fun for guests to walk around and see everything- we had lawn games, our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the arboretum but still were able to have variety in the locations! I couldn't recommend Tyler Arboretum enough!
This place is absolutely wonderful - not only is the scenery perfect for your wedding, but the staff is amazing too! Despite some rain, we had the perfect wedding day and people still remark how beautiful it was!
Tyler was the last venue my husband and I checked out before booking our April 2018 wedding. We had toured just about every site where Jeffrey Miller exclusively caters, and were so set on having our wedding outdoors. Tyler was the only place we found ourselves equally excited over the grounds and the back-up plan in case the weather did not hold up according to plan. We were lucky enough to have our ceremony by the cluster of magnolia trees in full bloom, on the most beautiful day this spring. Our reception was held in the restored barn which was perfectly cozy for our 100 guests. Emily was our event coordinator and I am so thankful for her prompt communication throughout the wedding planning process, her calm demeanor and organizational skills I did not feel an ounce of stress on the big day. Overall, we are so very happy we went with Tyler for our wedding ceremony and reception.
My husband and I got had our wedding reception at Tyler on June 23, 2018 and it was the most magical day ever. We loved every minute at the arboretum. The place is absolutely amazing. Guests constantly were coming up to us complimenting how beautiful our venue was and I couldn't agree more. If you are looking for something that is not cookie cutter but still classic and romantic, Tyler Arboretum is perfect for you.
We worked with Dana and I honestly loved working with her. She was very professional, got back to all my emails quickly, and was extremely helpful on our wedding day. Perfect example when we were in the middle of family pictures she showed up with a tray of apps just for mike and I and we were so happy to see that since we were starving. She knew everything we need.
I would recommend Tyler Arboretum over and over again. I loved our wedding and it was mostly because of the beauty that is Tyler.
We chose Tyler Arboretum for our upcoming wedding in April 2018 and we could not be more excited. We booked Tyler not only because of the beautiful grounds and barn, but also because of the exclusive caterer at this venue, Jeffrey A. Miller. When we started touring similar venues, I quickly became overwhelmed thinking about having to choose a caterer, rentals, and coordinating everything myself. Not to mention that the costs quickly started adding up! JAM is so inclusive with their services that you could truly stick to their lowest tier package and have a wonderful wedding. This is practically impossible at any other venue.
At Tyler, JAM does only 1 wedding per day and it will take place after hours leaving you with all 600+ acres for your private event (golf cart included to make the most of your time!). I don't think it gets any better than that! I was also blown away by how many beautiful options they have for ceremony locations....and THE BARN. I was completely in love with the barn the moment I saw it. Also, I was very focused on the rain plan because of getting married in April. Tyler was the only venue that I felt was not only fully prepared for rain, but I also wouldn't be completed devastated by how it would look or that I wasted my money.
The only negative about having my wedding at Tyler is knowing that I won't get a chance to see ALL of the beauty that Tyler has to offer that day. I also can truly say that Tyler/JAM has made the planning process as stress free as possible at a surprisingly affordable cost for everything they do.
I had my wedding here on July 7, 2017. Not only were the grounds beautiful but the food was delicious. My guests had an amazing time and the staff was very helpful. Most importantly, they let me know when my dinner was ready and made sure I was fed, which I was worried about. Many thanks to my wedding planner, Emily.
My husband and I love the outdoors, and having our wedding in a beautiful arboretum like Tyler was absolutely perfect for us. We wanted a venue that wasn't a traditional wedding venue, and Tyler fit the bill. We took a bit of a risk when booking, since at the time, the historic barn was under construction and we had trouble getting a good sense of the space. However, we are so happy we took that risk because everything turned out better than we could have ever dreamed. We got lucky with the weather, however, the arboretum does provide great alternatives in the case of inclement weather. The grounds are spectacular, and in the months leading up to our wedding we made many excuses to drive down to Tyler to explore all their beautiful gardens. We worked with Jeffrey A. Miller Catering, the exclusive caterer for the venue, and had a wonderful experience with them as well. For a nature-loving couple that isn't looking for the traditional ballroom or country club setup, we highly recommend the Tyler Arboretum, and we are so thankful that their team was a part of our special day!
We could not have been happier with Tyler Arboretum. We had our ceremony in the Lilac garden, cocktails of Lachford Hall patio, dinner on the Terrace, and dancing in the newly renovated barn. It was everything that we could have imagined, and more. Jeffery Miller Catering did a phenomenal job with the food and organizing the whole thing. Perfect day, perfect venue, perfect everything.
Tyler is an outstanding place to have a wedding, rain or shine. My daughter's wedding last Saturday was a dark dreary wet day - everything had to be inside instead of in the gardens. It was still wonderful! My daughter said she was glad it rained because the ceremony in the tent was so beautiful! I would give Tyler ten stars, not just five.
Dream Wedding Location and Catering Company!!
The setting is absolutely breathtaking. The greenery is gorgeous. One of my favorite parts it is the barn that was renovated by their exclusive catering company Jeffery Miller Catering. The barn is everything you could want in a rustic barn setting. Every detail is amazing in the barn, the doors, the bridal suite, the lighting. It is such an amazing setting! I cannot wait to see my pictures! Working with Jeffery Miller Catering has been such an amazing experience as well!!
Tyler Arboretum is breathtaking. When my fiance and I walked on the extensive grounds, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. There are so many gorgeous places for a ceremony and pictures. And the newly renovated barn is rustic and stunning and ready for any party to be hosted by Jeffrey Miller Catering!
Tyler has multiple lovely location options for an outdoor ceremony, with a nice indoor option if the weather is not being cooperative. The grounds provide beautiful locations for pictures, and the new barn renovation is an amazing space for a reception. With all that they have to offer I would absolutely recommend Tyler Arboretum to anyone looking for an outdoor wedding venue. My fiancee and I are so glad we picked Tyler and can’t wait for the big day.
So my fiance and I knew that we didn't want a standard ballroom, but that was about as far as we'd gotten with picking a venue. When we walked into Tyler Arboretum, we knew that this was the place for us.
This is a gorgeous park with all of the photo ops you could ever want and a really unique venue. Add to that the amazing tented patio or the exquisite newly renovated barn, and it was a no brainer for us. We wanted something different and fun and laid back and Tyler's is the whole package. Plus, the exclusive cater is JAM catering and they provide a coordinator to help you make all of those little decision and they make amazing food. I am so, so happy we picked this venue!
Many people described this venue as enchanted. The exclusive caterer, Jeffrey Miller Catering, was fabulous. The venue has so many gorgeous places to take photographs. The locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (and dancing) are all flawless. Our wedding day was a dream come true at this beautiful venue.
From my first visit to my final event we could not have been any happier with a Tyler Arboretum! Angela was great in the initial start of our planning by answering, sometimes several, emails immediately. When we we're given our Wedding Coordinator, Lynn, we were still blow away by the help and thoughtfulness that went in to our questions and help with planning our perfect day!
By the time of the event I knew that all I had to worry about was showing up, getting married, and partying the night away! Our guests raved about the food (burgers were amazing) and we must've heard a million times how lucky we were to have such a naturally beautiful venue!
Long story short...our day as more beautiful and perfect than we could imagine and Tyler Arboretum and Jeffery Miller Catering were such a large part of this!!!!
Tyler was the perfect location for my enchanted tea party wedding! All aspects of the venue were perfect, as long as you understand you are outside and in a relatively public space. My wedding took place in the lilac garden, we were just a little late to actually have the lilacs in bloom but it was so beautiful to be in front of. The tented area was perfect for the reception we had about 130 people and they all fit easily. There are beautiful warm toned lights that are pre-strung in the tents for lighting! Great for atmosphere. There was plenty of room for dancing in the room alongside the tent, and no additional dance floor was needed, this was great for our budget! Over all I loved the venue it was the perfect setting for my dream to come true!
The space for both cocktail and reception is beautiful. Even though the Arboretum was open to the public for a few hours into our reception, you didn't notice. The bathrooms were recently refreshed, and the scenery and available spots for photos cannot be beat!
I highly recommend the Tyler Arboretum for an outside wedding. chairs were provided for the guests and a place to have the ceremony of it rained at no additional cost. Monica was also very helpful
My husband and I held our wedding brunch at Tyler Arboretum in September 2009. The coordinator with whom I worked was very nice and knowledgeable, though she was very bad at responding to questions in a timely manner. I did a site visit about five months prior to the brunch and she did a good job of upselling me a reception with hors d'oeuvres prior to the brunch seating time. I got my orders in and provided disgrams. I arrived in the morning and the linen colors had been reversed. I was told that there was nothing that could be done about it. When I asked where in the process of ordering and receiving the linens had they not been checked for accuracy and I did not receive an answer. I was very unhappy with the planning staff. The onsite staff, on the other hand, were amazing. They attended to every need I could possibly want and at the end of the morning, they packed everything up for me before I even had a chance to look around. They were not dressed professionally, though. The woman who cut my cake is in all of the photos wearing what looked like gardening clothes. The setting and the barn terrace are beautiful. The plastic curtain around the permiter of the barn canopy is dingy and looks like a dirty shower curtain. I would say that if you want a pretty, peaceful and laid back event, this is a great venue. If you want something polished and professional, look elsewhere.
We got married at the Tyler in the fall--we tried to pick the "peak foliage weekend" and were rewarded with beautiful leaves and scenery. The weather was also in the 70s, which was an added bonus. We were planning the wedding from a distance, so my mother- and father- in law chose the venue for us. While the grounds were beautiful, in person and from pictures we saw of other weddings, we were a little worried about how the barn and tent would look for the reception. I could not have been more pleased! They were beautiful, and everyone commented on how this was the prettiest wedding they'd been to. The food and service were excellent! The one caveat to working with Jeffrey Miller Catering was that we were overcharged several times ("calculation" errors), and there was a marked change in the service and attention after we paid the deposit compared to before. However, the event was wonderful and everything came off perfectly!
I had been a member at Tyler for almost a year before I got engaged and it was the first place I thought of for my summer nuptials. It's a beautiful location throughout the year, but I wanted an outdoor ceremony with a relaxing setting for the cocktail and reception. While Tyler has a back-up plan in case of rain or extreme heat, luckily for me it was a cooler day in August and only clouds, no rain. Tyler gives many options for the ceremony over several gardens and locations, so you can really personalize it. I got so many compliments on the location - they loved how breezy/summery everything felt and how relaxing and easy-going everything was, while still having a formality for the wedding. Many people said they definitely wanted to go back and visit the Arboretum another time. They are pretty flexible about decorating, etc. Note the cost of service is only for the facility rental and does not include the catering cost. Catering is exclusive to Jeffery Miller Catering. Tyler offers free membership to the bride and groom one year after the wedding as well. It's a beautiful and unique setting that my guests and I will remember for a very long time!
All of the views were beautiful. The tented and indoor area provided shelter but did not detract from the view. The catering company Jeffrey Miller provided us with a delicious vegetarian menu. There were so many beautiful areas to choose from for the cocktail hour.;If you are getting married there the area they provide for the bride to get married was a cramped office with poor lighting. The indoor space where the dance floor is located has very bare white walls...bring decorations.
