Tyler Gets Weird

Well I think I’ve watched my wedding video about 50 times the day I received it. Tyler is blessed with a natural ability to capture the most beautiful and authentic version of you on your special day. If we had to share one thing about Tyler, it's that he goes above and beyond. His attitude was amazing all day, and he was so incredibly attentive to our needs. I’m an awkward person, but Tyler makes you feel like you’re just another one of his friends, which helped me to relax and for him to capture amazing portraits. Before the wedding day, I also felt like he was one of our only vendors that truly took the time to assess our vision. He spent plenty of time making sure I was confident we would have THE pictures ;). 2 words: HIRE HIM!

We had the pleasure of working with Tyler for our wedding in May, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Tyler did such an amazing job with our wedding photos!! They turned out exactly how I hoped, he is such a hard worker and gets every single shot plus more! I was worried because my husband and I aren't great in front of a camera, and he truly made us so comfortable, he's very personable, funny, and easy to work with! I’m pretty sure Tyler is the standard in which all other wedding photographers should be held against. He’s anything but amateur. It was obvious very quickly that this man had done this many times. He took charge of his job in a way that made us feel we could relax and let him do what he’s good at. Tyler captured our elopement at Big Talbot Island phenomenally! From day one, Tyler was personable, easy to communicate with, and he made us feel at ease on our special day. He spent time on our first call getting to know us as and asked thorough questions. His sense of humor is the best! After the ceremony, he put on some chill music and spent time getting to know us a bit more as we walked around the island, stopping to take photos. Hands down the best decision I made for my wedding was working with Tyler! From the first interaction with Tyler, we knew we wanted him to capture our wedding day. He has a great sense of humor and he was so easy to connect with. I was truly able to just be myself around Tyler and I feel that is something so important to capture candid moments. When communicating prior to our wedding he listened and asked questions to really get to know us, and genuinely cared about what we were looking for. I think what I appreciated the most was his attentiveness during our wedding day. I feel he had a way of keeping me calm and relaxed, but at the same time hyping everyone up. He made sure we were feeling okay, had something to drink or eat, and would check in to make sure we weren't feeling overwhelmed. He helped with our timeline, worked great with our photographer and other vendors. Plus I was cracking up the entire day working with him! My husband and I reached out to lots of photographers for our wedding day. There are so many talented people in the wedding industry, it was originally hard to find a great fit. One of the things that Tyler mentioned that stuck out to us was that he would be more than our photographer on the wedding day. He was so right… he was a source of much needed laughter through the stress and a coordinator - making sure we were getting all the photos we said we wanted. Best photographer ever! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed working with Tyler, and how fortunate I feel to have found him! The purest soul and the best photo/video in the business! We hired Tyler for our March 2023 wedding and consider it the best decision we made for our wedding. Finding a photographer was not an easy task, but within two minutes of speaking with Tyler we knew he was the right person for the job. We spent our wedding day loving and laughing with our friends, family, and him and his team. They had the best energy, a positive attitude, and a hard workers mentality. I don’t know if it is possible to put into words how awesome it is working with Tyler. He took the time to really get to know my fiancé ( now husband) and I from the very first time that we spoke. We are both kinda awkward when it comes to pictures but with Tyler it was like just hanging out with a friend and he was able to truly capture the real us. The one thing we wanted from our photos was for them to be us and not the standard wedding poses and Tyler knocked it out of the park. I was a bridesmaid for a wedding Tyler did and he did the photography and had a man for videography and I truly mean it when I say they were the best! Tyler was so organized and made pics with the family and wedding party easy and fun! He made sure to capture all the special moments and he was so nice about doing it all- not to mention he’s hilarious. I can’t wait to see the wedding album and I would definitely recommend anyone to use his talent to capture your love.

The photographer/videographer was, to me, the most important part of my wedding planning process. I have a very specific taste and type of photos that I like and once I came across Tyler Gets Weird, I knew his style was exactly what I was looking for. His portfolio brought me in with his realism, but once we did the initial phone call, I knew he was the photographer for my wedding. He was personable, knowledgeable and gave us great advice on some things we weren't too sure about - also found out he did video too! After we booked him for the wedding, he stayed in contact with us until the big day to ensure we were all on the same page. Fast forward to our wedding date, the only word to describe him is phenomenal. He arrived early, scoped out the location to see the best photo options, helped us relax and not feel like we were putting on a performance. He told us that the theme of the day was flexibility and we would make it work no matter what - AND HE DID. I felt like I've known him for years with how comfortable he made not just my husband and I, but our family and friends as well. Our photos and video are something I will look at for the rest of my life and he is now my family photographer for any and all milestones from now on.

Working with Tyler was perfect. We had multiple calls to make sure we were getting what we wanted and with every call we had some good laughs. Made everything such a breeze. He paired us with a colleague, Gabe, that we absolutely loved and Tyler also personally kept checking in with us the week of the wedding and immediately after. Very impressed by his accessibility and patience. We were blown away by the quality of the photos and also the time in which we received them. Would give a million more stars if it was an option!!!

Prior to even meeting Tyler, we were impressed by his excellent communication skills, follow-through, flexibility, professionalism, and sense of humor. He kept in close contact with us throughout the entire process and made us feel completely comfortable from the start. All of those things continued throughout the wedding day, and for people who are not normally comfortable being in front of the camera, he made us feel right at home and kept us genuinely smiling and laughing the whole time. He gave us lots of good tips before the wedding, and did such a good job taking the lead and directing everyone on wedding day. The end product was an incredibly beautiful portfolio of pictures that we will cherish for the rest of our lives! We would recommend Tyler a thousand times over!

Tyler was an awesome photographer to work with and my fiancé and I would highly recommend him! We are having a smaller, destination elopement but wanted a local photographer to shoot our engagement photos around Jekyll Island. Tyler was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. On the day of the shoot, my fiancé was nervous because he had not had professional photos taken of him since he was in college but we found Tyler to be easy going and fun to work with! He was able to get beautiful photos of my fiancé and I (and even our two dogs) and, more importantly, was able to capture our personalities in the pictures. His turnaround time in getting our photos to us was also much faster than expected (it took him a weekend!!) Everyone we have shared these photos with is impressed by them and we are using them on our save the dates and invitations. We have referred him to our friends in the area and will reach out to him next time we need a photographer.

Tyler absolutely lives up to his business name in the best possible way. I know that businesses always have a goal to be relatable and service oriented to their customers but Tyler embodies that vision unlike any other creative professional I've worked with. Throughout our entire wedding day he took charge and kept us on track while giving the space needed for everyone to just enjoy the day even while setting up for certain shots. He brings an awesome, unconventional humor with his work and seamlessly fit in with every person he met. While prepping up in the groom's suite it felt like we had a buddy we had known for years hanging out with us. He also is fantastic in getting close up shots while somehow staying out of the way enough that you barely notice he's there. As if that experience wasn't enough, he delivered a top quality production that captured exactly what we were looking for at almost half the price of the competition. I can't thank him and his team enough for being available on short notice and delivering on everything he promised. If you are lucky enough to get the opportunity to book Tyler, don’t think, just book. He was the perfect mix of professional and awesome and made my wedding party laugh while simultaneously laying down the law to get the best possible footage. He really took the time out to nail down what was most important to my husband and I, and gave us a solid library to choose from for our videos background music. Being on video the whole day was sort of a daunting thought to me and I thought I would be really nervous, but he sort of effortlessly blended in to the background and somehow still captured the most beautiful and meaningful parts of the wedding without making us uncomfortable. As a bonus, he always responded quickly, provided BEAUTIFUL work at half the price of other videographers in my area, and he delivered our wedding video to us surprisingly quick. I have watched it 20 times by now, and it still makes me smile so hard that it hurts my face. It is truly beautiful, all my family and friends are obsessed with it, and I’m forever grateful that we get to relive the best day of our lives whenever we want ❤️

I’ve never hired a photographer so finding one for our wedding seemed extra intimidating. I must have sent out a dozen inquiries from which I received auto generated responses, except from Tyler. He sent us a personal message the same day, introducing himself, ready to schedule a phone call to discuss the wedding. We got on the phone the same day, and Tyler spent a good part of the hour getting to know us. What stood out the most to me was his passion for photography, the quality of work, and his dedication to helping make the day as smooth as possible for the bride and groom, with the couple being his main focus. His handle “Tyler Gets Weird” was another thing that stood out for us. We have a big and silly family, and who better to document them than someone who likes to “get weird”. But getting weird doesn’t take away from the professionalism he displayed throughout this entire wedding process. Before the wedding day, we touched base on the phone, another lengthy conversation, so when we officially met at the ceremony, I felt like we already knew him, and that made it so much easier to invite someone you’ve never met into a private moment in your life. Tyler exceeded all of my expectations. He was friendly, professional, efficient, and direct without being pushy. He advocated for us throughout the night, touched base on what’s next on the schedule, gave us soft pointers on posing, and remembered the details we discussed on the phone (remembering that I get moody in the heat and adjusting our photo locations so I wouldn’t sweat off my makeup and have a meltdown - for which I am extremely grateful). Most importantly, he captured us. Our love, silliness, terrible dance moves, and the love of our family and friends on such a monumental day in our lives. And if that’s not enough, we received sneak peak photos the very next day and our entire album just two weeks later. I cannot sing his praise enough and personally feel that hiring Tyler was the best decision we made (after getting married, of course). We will not hesitate to hire him for all our photography needs in the future.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Tyler is hands down the best. He is so flexible, accommodating, quick to respond, comfortable to be around. He did a surprise photo shoot for my husband and I and he even went to the extent of posting a fake Instagram post to convince my husband of the secret. His pictures are amazing. My fiancé and I were looking for a photographer to take pictures of our engagement and we stumbled upon Tyler and good thing we did! He is such an outgoing and talented person. We have never had professional pictures done before so my fiancé and I felt very awkward and didn’t know what to do. Tyler made the whole experience very fun and relaxing! He told us how to pose for certain photos and gave us very good direction. We received the photos a couple days later with AMAZING results!
