Bill was very responsive and accommodating to all of our requests, including allowing us to have an outdoor ceremony when everything was already set up for an indoor ceremony due to impeding rain on the wedding day. Him and his wife were super friendly, professional, and helpful having our wedding day vision come to life. They allowed us multiple venue visits and we were able to have an amazing wedding day with their help. The venue was gorgeous and I am so glad we were able to have the ceremony, cocktail hour (tent outside included), and reception all in one location. The cottage to get ready was perfect on wedding day.
We found this venue online when looking for a barn-style wedding, and when we visited the property, we knew it was the perfect location! The property boasts beautiful seasonal gardens, lots of mature trees and that quintessential new england feel. Christina and Bill were so accommodating and communication was swift and easy. We were originally booked for October 2020, and just like so many others, had to postpone because of the pandemic. We postponed to October 2021, and throughout this process, Bill and team were so understanding and accommodating! We got so many compliments on the venue and the grounds, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I could not recommend this venue enough!!
From the moment I found Tyrone Farm online and toured the grounds, I knew this was where I wanted to get married. Tyrone Farm offers a rustic beauty with picturesque views and an intimate appeal we were immediately drawn to. We are grateful Bill and Diane are gracious enough to welcome couples on their property to celebrate a memorable day. With the help of their fantastic wedding coordinator, Christina, things occur effortlessly. She answers any questions leading up to the big day, offers suggestions, and works closely with the other vendors to ensure a smooth wedding day. They are very accommodating at Tyrone, and let you bring in decorations if you choose to, but truthfully, it is perfect already. We couldn’t be happier with how our day went... we only wish we could do it all over again!
As soon as we drove up the driveway at Tyrone Farm, we knew we would be married there. The property is absolutely perfect and it is so special that the family shares it with couples for their wedding day. We (and our guests) loved that we weren't confined to a "hall" like a typical wedding, and many folks took advantage of the opportunity to walk around, sit by the fire pit, and sit near the gardens on the terrace. We also appreciated that the barn is heated and air conditioned, as temperature can make or break whether guests enjoy themselves. The property has endless beautiful spots for photos and our photographers were able to get a lot of non-traditional wedding photos because of the variety on the property. They have an adorable cottage on the property for the wedding party to get ready in, which was very convenient and reduced a lot of the annoying coordinating that is usually necessary for getting ready. The cost was a couple thousand dollars more than other venues with similar "vibes" but everything is included and there were no additional surprise charges after the fact. To us, the property was worth the extra cost and if we could get married there over and over again we would!
My husband and I were married at Tyone Farm on 10/6/18 and had the most perfect day! Christina is truly a pleasure to work with and ensured every detail is perfect. Her professionalism, experience, and friendliness made the planning process easy and stress free. We chose this venue because of the natural beauty, family history it offers, and unique offering. The McLaren family graciously welcomed us to their property and everything is in immaculate condition. My guests could not stop raving about their experience at Tyrone Farm. I highly recommend this gorgeous venue and the fabulous team there. Thank you Christina!!!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Tyrone Farm!! My husband Brandon and I got married here on September 22nd and it was everything we had dreamed of plus more! Tyrone Farm was the first venue that we looked at after getting engaged, and as soon as we stepped foot on the beautiful property we knew it was the one. Everything about it is beautiful - the quaint barn, the old farm house, the spacious green lawns and gardens... I could go on and on! Tyrone Farm is also very close to where we both grew up and met (about 15 minutes) however being that it’s such a hidden gem we never knew it existed until we started looking. That’s something else I really liked, having that nice homey feel but at the same time feeling like you’re somewhere completely different that’s there just for you! In addition to the beauty that is Tyrone Farm, it wouldn’t be close to what it is if not for the amazing staff! Bill the owner is obviously very proud of the property itself and the history that’s built in every wall. He’s also very pleasant and welcoming, you feel like you’re talking with a friend!! Then there’s Christina, one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet! She was so helpful when it came to pretty much everything! Every time I had a question or needed advice she was just a quick text or email away. Christina is extremely knowledgeable and really doubles as a wedding planner for the Farm. She really helped us portray the image and feelings that we wanted for our special day and was there every step of the way both leading up to and throughout the day of! Brandon and I are so happy that we had the opportunity to get married here and would recommend Tyrone Farm to anyone and everyone!!!!
Tyrone Farm was only the third venue that my husband and I visited. From the start, it just felt like home. I loved that we could have unique spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, but everything was so close and cozy! Ian and then Christina were always available to us throughout the process. Bill and Diane, the owners, were amazing as well! I feel so lucky that they opened their home to us for the most special day! Once we booked, Christina welcomed us onsite twice to go over details and answer any questions we had (of course she was great by e-mail as well!) I believe we were the only wedding our weekend, which was such a nice thing as opposed to venues that host something every weekend day! The week leading up to the wedding, we were able to drop stuff off on Thursday and have a full rehearsal Friday afternoon. The day of the wedding, we had full use of the cottage on property which was amazing! We actually dropped all the dresses and suits off before we left Friday so it made for an easy Saturday morning! It was such a quiet and quaint place to get ready and hang out before the ceremony. And there was plenty of room so the guys were able to get ready upstairs while the ladies got ready downstairs. The ceremony itself was amazing – the grounds are simply immaculate no matter what season. We barely needed any flowers because so much was in bloom and the venue just has so much unique character. Christina was always there throughout the night for whatever we needed. She also worked with the catering staff to clean everything up afterwards and we just stopped by Sunday morning to pack everything back into the car on the way home. From start to finish, it was truly a great experience and my only regret is that it’s over and we’ll missing visiting the property!
Tyrone Farm was such an amazing place to get married for so many reasons! The farm itself is so beautiful and picturesque with so many different places to take photos and for guests to congregate but what really makes this place so special are the people who run it. Bill and Diane are such great hosts and Christina (the wedding coordinator) is AMAZING! So many of the venues we visited only offered 'cookie cutter' packages but at Tyrone we were truly encouraged to design our dream wedding.
Christina went above and beyond to make sure that everything was exactly how we envisioned it and was always readily available to answer questions in the months leading up to our wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Tyrone and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a beautiful outdoor venue!
Tyrone Farm is the most beautiful place in a Connecticut for a July wedding. All the flowers were in bloom and the grounds were immaculate. The cottage is a great place for the bridal party to get ready, on site, with privacy and all the comforts of home. All our guests raves about the beauty of our venue!
We highly recommend justice of the peace, Paul Aldrich. He was incredible and has done many weddings at the venue!
We looked at many wedding venues and knew Tyrone Farm was exactly what we were looking for our daughter’s wedding. Working with owners, Bill and Diane, and wedding facilitator, Christina, was wonderful. They were helpful in every way. Christina’s follow up and attention to detail made the day “perfect”. The grounds and venue are beautifully maintained (great photo ops) and the overall vibe is romantic, rustic and elegant. Having an entire private cottage for the bride and bridesmaids was a huge help, too! We could write paragraphs about our wonderful wedding experience there!
I remember sitting at a wedding at Tyrone Farm with my then boyfriend (now husband). We were taking in the beautiful scene, when we looked at each other and immediately knew that we would get married at Tyrone Farm. Three years later (06.02.18), we did and couldn't be happier with our choice!
One thing we love about Tyrone Farm is the staff. Ian is amazing and set the bar incredibly high. When we found out he had moved on and was no longer working at the farm, we were devastated. Thankfully, the current team kept the standard high and was great to work with. Christina is wonderful! She is a great communicator and kept us at ease throughout the process. Also, she worked very well with our other vendors and was very attentive to their needs and concerns.
One great perk of Tyrone is the versatility of the property. As will happen in New England, the weather changed very quickly on our wedding day. But, the tent over the slate patio ensured that all of our guests stayed dry during the random evening downpour. FYI- check out their umbrella collection! We also used their cottage to get ready before the wedding. It is so convenient to have this option available for the wedding parties!
Speaking of the property....beautiful! Tyrone's ground are impeccably manicured and the flowers are gorgeous. Our photographer (Carla Ten Eyck), could not contain her excitement. We got so may great shots throughout the grounds.
Overall, we would recommend Tyrone Farm without hesitation. The property is beautiful, the staff is exceptional, and they will ensure that your wedding day is perfect.
My husband and I got married here in November of 2017 and our guests are STILL talking about how wonderful our wedding was! Ian is the best- he listens/already knows what your looking for and makes it happen. He is incredibly calm, which helped me stay calm the day of, and accommodating. He had wonderful recommendations as well for a DJ and caterer. Basically, you could put your whole wedding in his hands and it will be more than you could have hoped for. We joke about how we wish we could have an anniversary party at Tyrone every year! If I could give Tyrone Farm 69,456,482,355,464,589,638,452 stars I would. If you're considering this place... Do it! You won't regret it.
Ian is so wonderful!! He was nothing but accommodating and patient. The venue was beyond gorgeous. My guests couldn't not get over how beautiful this place was, a number of people went out of their way to tell us. Honestly, I was jealous that I couldn't attend my wedding as a guest! You cannot go wrong with Tyrone. It is such a cozy, lovely place and Ian was so easy to work with :)
I can't say enough about Ian and Tyrone Farm! Ian was absolutely wonderful to work with! - he is calm, pays attention to details, and is committed to making your wedding day truly special! Tyrone Farm is beautiful and extremely well maintained! If you are looking for a barn wedding (or tent wedding - which also has alternative options for rain) look no further!
Ian and his team (family) really make this a special venue. We saw a lot of "barn" venues before settling on Tyrone. Many were wedding factories where the barns were either brand new or couldn't hold enough guests, thus necessitating the extra expense of a tent rental. Tyrone holds 135 people and they already have a beautiful terrace with a tent for cocktail hour and tables and chairs so you don't have to rent them. My father in law is in a wheelchair and we had no trouble getting him around. The place is so beautiful that we barely added any decorations at all, and guests couldn't stop gushing and taking selfies in front of the gorgeous vista of fall foliage. Throughout the event and leading up to it, Ian was so calm, warm and accommodating. We never got the sense, as you do with other places, that he was trying to sell us anything or being shady. The price may seem high on paper but for what you are getting, including the peace of mind, it is well worth it. We also rented the on-site cottage for two nights and our bridal party stayed with us. This was so convenient and helpful to have as a resource. It felt like staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel. From beginning to end, we had a great experience and are so glad we went with Tyrone. Our wedding was unforgettable and we owe it in large part to Ian and his team!
If I could give more than 5 stars to Tyrone Farm, I would. My husband Jeff and I were married on July 30th, and it was THE MOST PERFECT venue for us. We had attended a wedding at Tyrone a few years ago, and though we were not even engaged at the time, I knew Tyrone was where I wanted to get married. Between the beautiful grounds of the farm (covered in flowers), an incredible barn (to give you that rustic vibe), and an incredibly handy on-site cottage (that we rented out for the ladies to get ready in & and the bridal party to sleep at after the reception), Tyrone ticked all the boxes for us. The best part? Ian (Tyrone's owner & most helpful person ever). From the day we emailed him noting an interest in checking out the grounds again, to the day after the wedding when we went back to pick up left over decorations, etc., Ian was incredibly responsive, full of ideas on how to make the day run smoothly, and overall a wonderful guy. He, along with the rest of his team at Tyrone, made sure that Jeff and I didn't have to worry about a thing on the day of the wedding and that everything went perfectly by coordinating with our vendors, setting up decorations/escort cards, checking the local weather tower, etc. There are so many special touches that Tyrone provides that just can't be put into words - we're still getting rave reviews from our guests that it was the best wedding they'd been to - and that's because of Tyrone and the other vendors we used (most of which Ian recommended). We cannot thank Ian and Tyrone Farm enough - it was the perfect day!
good
We cannot say enough about how amazing our wedding was at Tyrone Farm! The farm is so gorgeous and Ian is wonderful to work with. He is so knowledgeable and helpful. We ended up using a caterer, florist and justice of the peace from Ian’s recommendations, and we loved them all. Before the wedding Ian was very responsive to any questions that came up. At our rehearsal and on the day of, he was there making sure everything was perfect! It looked like it might rain and he continued to check his local weather tower and give us updates. He was ready to move the entire ceremony under the tent if needed. We ended up making it through the ceremony with about 5 minutes to spare before the rain came. At which point Ian was there with umbrellas for all to use. The entire day ran so smoothly because Ian really knows what he is doing!! Once our guests arrived they realized why we wanted to travel 3 hours for our wedding. The beauty of the farm speaks for itself!!
This was the ideal place for a rustic fall wedding. The foliage is gorgeous and the barn is literally picture perfect. At the cocktail hour, guests kept coming up to me raving about the site and asking how we found such a perfect place.
Ian is INCREDIBLE. He is a site manager, wedding planner, coordinator, and anything else you could want all in one. He coordinates between all your wedding vendors and make sure everything runs smoothly up to the day. Ian does have vendors that he recommends but allows you to use your own as well. They typically only have one event per weekend so we were able to go in the day before and drop things off - we had a s'mores bar which he set up for us (including the fire pit) at no extra charge.
The guest house is perfect - it is an additional charge but totally worth it. My husband and I stayed in the master suite but there were rooms upstairs for our mothers and we had friends continue the party in the basement even after we went to bed.
Tyrone Farm is slightly more expensive than other venues but for the location and service, it is totally worth it. I would not change a single thing about the event!
Absolutely perfect setting, awesome owners. Everyone is so incredibly helpful. I had to do next to nothing. The venue was absolutely beautiful. The ceremony, the cocktail hour and the amazing barn reception.
With a venue as gorgeous as this there isn't much decor and decoration needed! Ian and the entire team at Tyrone Farm were always responsive, accommodating, professional and truly a pleasure to work with. I never worried about anything related to the venue or details. Ian even acts as a coordinator saving tons of money on someone to organize the rehearsal or day of! my guests continue to rave about the beautiful location and amazing attention we received.
We had our fall wedding at Tyrone Farm and couldn't be more pleased. Our ceremony was held under the pergola overlooking the beautiful fall foliage and rolling hills. Our reception was held inside the beautiful barn. Ian and his staff are amazing to work with. They are so accommodating and helpful. Throughout the entire planning process, Ian was very responsive and helpful with all of my questions. The day of the wedding was so smooth and all of our guests have commented on what a beautiful place Tyrone Farm is. Ian and his staff anticipated things before we could even think about it. For example, it was chilly on our wedding day so they had the bar brought inside the barn so that our guests wouldn't have to walk outside. Tyrone Farm was the perfect place for us to get married and we couldn't be happier we chose it. If you are looking for a unique and elegant setting for your wedding, look no further than Tyrone Farm.
Ian and his crew at Tyrone Farm are AMAZING! Even though there was a hail and lightening storm 15 minutes before our ceremony was about to start he kept everything running smoothly. We were able to wait out the storm and still have our ceremony outside due to the tireless efforts of everyone drying off all the chairs - we didn't even fall behind in the schedule. There was even a rainbow! The venue is absolutely spectacular and we couldn't have had a more perfect wedding. Everything was beautiful - from the rolling fields filled with flowers to the rustic barn it was exactly what we had hoped for.
We could not have asked for a better venue than Tyrone Farm. The farm is absolutely beautiful and Pomfret is quaint and picturesque. The guest house at Tyrone is truly a "game changer" as Ian says. We loved having the pool and a home away from home for the weekend and we were able to offer accommodations to our bridal party, which was really important to us. We also offered babysitting at the guest house during the reception, which our guests loved. Ian was helpful, mellow, and ideal to work with. We would highly recommend Tyrone Farm to anyone who is interested in a beautiful and stress-free wedding that is rustic and quaint.
