My husband and I won a drawing for free videography for our wedding from TYS Photo Video back in January 2019. We have contacted the bridal expo where he won his services so that they can check into it and hopefully other couples don't have to ...deal with all of this. We got married on March 14th, 2020 - right before the shutdown. Ty has been extremely unprofessional throughout our entire experience with him. We did have to reschedule our initial meeting twice because of weather (back in February 2019) then when we did go meet him (2/28/19) he had forgotten about our meeting and was 15 minutes late. He didn't have us sign a contract, which in hindsight we definitely should have, but it was the first time either one of us had planned a wedding and he was the first vendor we met with. We were then supposed to meet up on 2/20/20 to set up the timeline with him and our photographers where he had forgotten and put the wrong time in his calendar, so we emailed him the timeline instead. We were supposed to receive a $2400 package that included: 6+ minute short film, full footage of ceremony and reception, and RAW footage from the day. We were completely understanding with the pandemic and gave Ty a message two months after we got married (May 2020) on Instagram because we were never told a timeline of when to expect our videos. Ty's response was "probably another month or so." I reached out again in July where he said "almost done!" and I asked for a estimation and he said "hopefully by next weekend (August 2020)." I reached back out after another month of silence (on September 13, 2020) and my husband called him twice when we finally got our link to our 3 minute 30 second video (our package was for a 6+ minute video). I then asked about our ceremony and reception footage four separate times between 9/26/20-10/5/20 with no response. He responded on 10/5/20 saying the they were backed up and to give him another "probably another month." I messaged him again on 11/8/20 where he said we would have our footage the next day (11/13/20). My husband emailed him on 11/17/20, with no response and I commented on his most recent photo on Instagram on 11/20/20 asking about our link. He did not respond and has deleted my comment. On 11/22/20 I commented on his most recent Facebook post about our situation. We finally received the links to our ceremony and reception footage on 11/23/20 with nothing more than an email with "Here are your links." We are happy to finally have our videos and will treasure them for the rest of our lives, but the majority of this situation was avoidable stress.
We don't want any other couples to have to deal with this unnecessary stress. I'm not sure if it is because we didn't have to pay for his services or if this has happened in the past to paying customers, but we are very disappointed for a service that was for such an important day for us.
