I recently got married and chose this vendor for my hair and makeup. Unfortunately, the service was not as I thought. In our initial meeting, I was told to provide the amount that will be having services done and the number of hair and makeup... people will be provided accordingly. On many occasions, through email and text messages I would have to provide the location information repeatedly. I provided that there would only be two getting makeup done and (7) girls getting their hair done. Needless to say there was only (1) hairstylist which in turn caused delays for pictures with family and my bridal party. Also, before even reaching our ceremony destination, our hair was falling out. Costs were based on length and styles and Jaye charged girls with short hair just as much as the ones with the long hair. My flower girl's hair was partially done, only the front and no curls were done for the back and full price was paid. Unfortunately, for me it is all said and done now, but I would never recommend using this vendor to another. I wish the salon that did my hair and makeup for my engagement went on location as it would not have even been a choice to make. Very much overpriced for the lack of quality. I paid $120 for hair & makeup trial, $100 deposit and over $250 for the actual day plus a required 20% gratuity for each service. I am sorry, but this is your job, gratuity should not be required and should only be based on the service provided and up to the client's discretion. Don't know how this vendor even made the "best of" list. The Knot should be a little more selective of who they put on here because their creditability is at stake too.
**I see that the vendor responded with her accounts leading up to the day, but some of the information very inaccurate because from the initial meeting I did tell her the location of the hotel. Obviously, I would not have a room number until I checked in. That was repeatedly told to her which was not included in her draft of the contract, by no means is my fault. The fact that you blame the weather for our hair falling out is laughable as we did not even leave the hotel yet to head to the ceremony location. I had my hair done for my engagement shoot which were all done outdoors and my hair held up for more than 3 hours in the Florida heat and humitdity. And to say you charged my sister in law, who has very short hair, less is an absolute lie as we have the tickets you wrote the final price on and yes you charged the same as everyone else. Pictures say more and I would love to post any of the pictures before we actually left the hotel that day. My bridesmaids were not at all satisfied with the services provided. I am knowledgeable of hair and makeup as I was in the modeling industry for over 12 years.
