married in June 2025. The booking process was fine and everything went well, but after that point, Jerry was MIA and late to plan our video calls. When we eventually did have the video call and my husband and I shared our music preferences, I almost felt like they were disregarded. I didn’t think I was asking a lot— play the original songs (no weird club remixes), most songs should be from the specially curated playlist I made, and do not play any songs from my “do not play” list. I stressed that I wanted my reception playlist to not stray far from the list I created for Jerry, but I ultimately trusted his expertise if he needed to change it up. Jerry also provided an app where we could put in all of our timeline info so he knew what to announce at which times. We filled this out with a lot of detail since our ceremony and reception were very untraditional. Day-of when it came time for the reception, it seemed like Jerry did not read our timeline notes. Events and announcements were different from the order we planned, causing my husband, wedding party, vendors, and I to scramble to be ready for the next thing. One event— the cake cutting— we stated we did NOT want to do it publicly and it should be removed from the timeline. That must have been overlooked because my husband and I were caught very off-guard when Jerry announced the cake cutting. We went up and did the cutting, acting like it was supposed to happen that way, but we were so confused. When we were first announced as the new couple, my husband and I’s last names were both pronounced completely wrong. Even after we verified the pronunciation with Jerry literally 30 seconds prior to this. As far as the music, the very first couple of songs to open the dance floor were straight off my “do not play” list and therefore were not the right vibe for the crowd, causing almost no one to get up and dance. About halfway through dancing time, the dance floor was still looking sad, so I asked that Jerry ONLY play from my recommended songs list from then on. Once he started playing these songs, a bunch more of our guests came out to dance. After that, the DJ service was great! But I felt like all of my wedding day preferences up until that point had been disregarded.  The DJ station setup was visually very nice, with fun dance floor lighting and great speaker sound quality. This part was 10/10, no complaints. Overall, I think the issues boiled down to Jerry not closely reviewing our event timeline/notes. I used to work as a wedding coordinator, so I understand that stuff happens and I try to give grace. I hate giving negative reviews, but there were just too many mistakes on the DJ side. Fortunately, our guests didn’t notice most of the hiccups, but my husband and I were left feeling disappointed. Based on previous positive reviews written by others, I was taken aback by my experience in comparison.  If you decide to work with Ultimate Entertainment, just make sure your timeline notes, wants, do-not-wants, and expectations are very clear and ask to go over them with Jerry multiple times so you know everything is correct.
