s historic piece of Austin with our guests. We loved that we got to stay in the city for our wedding! Couples may be nervous about the quick set up time, but we felt our event was the perfect amount of time and with the right staff, set up happens very fast. Compared to other venues, we thought the pricing was very fair for the location. Highly recommend!

he perfect backdrop for a beautiful and memorable wedding. One thing that stood out to us was how nice and flexible the staff was. They were incredibly accommodating when it came to the vendors we wanted to work with, and they were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that everything was perfect for the bride and groom. It's clear that they truly care about their clients and want to make their big day as special as possible. We also had the pleasure of working with Amanda, who was an absolute joy to work with. She was patient, helpful, and always available to answer any questions or concerns we had. Her attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond really made a difference in the planning process, and it was clear that she was invested in making the wedding a success. Overall, we would highly recommend Umlauf Sculpture Garden as a wedding venue. The beauty of the location, the flexibility of the staff, it all contributed to an incredible experience. After touring numerous venues in Austin, it's clear that Umlauf Sculpture Garden is a gem, and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

t of Austin, you feel like you’ve been transported to a romantic and peaceful place removed from the hustle and bustle of the city (while still being so close). You don’t need to add much in decorations to have a truly beautiful wedding. Our guests enjoyed the parking and the ambiance. Working with Amanda, the venue manager, was so easy and she was extremely helpful. Plus, their preferred vendor list is a shortlist of some of the best vendors you can go for in Austin! Booking at Umlauf means you will have a wonderful event and support a community/culture center while at it. Thanks to Umlauf, Amanda, and the whole team there for helping us have such a lovely evening.

The arbor area for the ceremony and covered terrace for the dinner were elegant and beautiful.

the public during the day and going late at Umlauf is not an option, as amplified sound must be turned off at 10 PM per Austin city ordinance). You’d probably want to go with mostly preferred vendors, which is what we did. That being said, we had a wonderful experience at Umlauf. Office staff were great to work with (Amanda was always very helpful and responsive). We fit our wedding of about 50 people underneath the pagoda for dinner which was the perfect setting. The garden was pretty remarkable for our ceremony. And despite that ordinance, we were still able to host a great dance party for our guests. We highly recommend Umlauf.

so much culture and history. Our guests loved walking around the grounds during cocktail hour and pavilion arch was a blank slate for our florist to play with. We could not have been happier with our decision to get married here!

and lush green gardens. We are so happy that we were able to get married at Umlauf. It is the perfect hidden gem in downtown Austin, and it fit our wedding party perfectly. On our wedding day we woke up to a tornado warning and torrential downpour, so we decided for the safety of our guests to move our ceremony to the Fairmont Hotel. Umlauf was very understanding and flexible and allowed us to arrive at a later time to carry out our reception at Umlauf. The on-site staff at Umlauf the night of our wedding was phenomenal. We worked with several coordinators during the planning process, and both Ally and Amanda were essential to our wedding's success! Thank y'all so much for helping us have the most wonderful wedding!

after dinner; the art was incredible & made for great photos; and the Umlauf team was so sweet and easy to work with. They made everything about the experience as breezy as possible, working with our other vendors as needed. Umlauf also had nice chairs & tables to accommodate our 170 guests, so we didn't have to pay to have that stuff hauled in and out of the venue. They have nice lighting everywhere so that was all included as well. We could not recommend this venue more highly!

ly Hinojosa were our points of contact though out the planning process. My spouse and I planned the wedding ourselves without a wedding planner, and Jonathan and Ally made the process so easy for us. They were quick about responding to our emails/ phone calls and did not seem bothered by the extensive amount of emails/phone calls we sent them. They were even great with working with our rental vendors to make sure that our tent and rentals were in the correct space (I do recommend going with their preferred vendors for the rentals...the preferred rental company is aware of all the do's and don'ts of the venue. It just helps the process run smoothly). Overall, the venue was beautiful, and my guests and I had a wonder evening.

t of Austin. It is not the easiest when it come to set up, due to the fact that it is open to the public from 12-4, but using experienced vendors, we were able to create the wedding of our dreams and Umlauf was a key part of it.

it wasn't too large that people felt disconnected from one another. Great setting for both our ceremony and reception! I love how we can always visit the garden and reminisce about our perfect day. Great location also! We used pedicabs as our getaway to our hotel in downtown Austin and that was SPECTACULAR!

ouldn't feel as intimate as I wanted. Do not worry! This is the perfect outdoor venue for 75 or 200 guests. The garden itself is so beautiful we didn't have to do much in the way of decor. Just some bud vases on the tables and lots of yummy candle light. Very romantic feel at night. If possible, ask the director if there are any events (open to the public of course) occuring at night so that you can see the venue in the dark. Since the garden closes before sunset, we didn't get to see what the lighting looked like until the day of our wedding. There are only two reasons why I didn't give Umlauf 5 stars and they are really miniscule/nit picky issues. First, ask the director if they will be changing over the art exhibit inside the museum itself. The day before our wedding they were in the process of changing over to a new exhibit. Therefore, on our wedding day itself, the museum was empty. This meant that the indoor area with many large windows allowing you to look in and view the sculptures, was bare. Kind of a bummer considering that's part of why we wanted this space. When I asked the director (who is super nice by the way) he apologized and said there was no way for them to schedule exhibit change overs around events being held. So... if this means a lot to you, I would double check before. Second and minimal reason for only giving them 4 stars... My day of coordinator had to climb the metal archway over the wedding ceremony space to remove lots of string that had been used for previous events. We chose to leave the archway as it was and not decorate it. Therefore, you could visibly see all the string/fishing line/etc. that others had used before. Overall, I LOVED having my wedding here and wouldn't have changed it for the world. Hope this helps others in their planning process.

erful time. It was absolutely perfect. If you are crazy like us and want a gorgeous wedding and reception outside in Austin, Umlauf is wonderful. The best part was how much money we saved on decorations. The sculptures added so much beauty and elegance by themselves that we felt anything extra would take away from the venue's charm.

We worked primarily with Joelle (who is the main contact for weddings), and she was not only incredibly responsive to questions about Umlauf (which you would expect), but she was so helpful in finding ways to accomodate requests and even sharing information on other topics as well. Of all the different vendors we worked with through the wedding (many of whom were also good), Joelle stood above the crowd in helping make our wedding easier logistically and special on that day. We definitely highly recommend Umlauf based on our experience.

loring the garden, and many commented on what a gorgeous setting it was. It was absolutely perfect for us. Joelle the events manager there is super easy to work with and will answer any questions concerns you might have thoroughly. The value for the rental is very good. We were quite surprised at what a good price the rental of the space was. It fit with in our budget (which was fairly modest) with no problem. There are only two draw backs to the location (which were not at all deal breakers for me). The time frame you have to use the Garden is limited. You can not get into set up until 4:30, so if you are planning something very elaborate make sure there is a lot of help. You have to be off premise by 11pm. This worked out perfectly for us, to make an exit, but it does make your reception time a little shorter than usual. The beauty of the setting over-road that for us. The second draw back, while there is a volunteer on site during your event, there is not an on-site coordinator during your event. We hired a day of coordinator to eliminate any issues that it may have caused. We had a completely stress free, beautiful day. I would recommend this venue to anyone that is looking for something a bit different than the standard hotel ballroom. It is truly a great place to begin your life.

the perfect garden wedding look no further. I couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else! Be very careful with your time when scheduling vendors. The load in and load out times are very exact. Make sure your vendors are all aware of when they MUST be there and when the MUST be out.

The primary wedding coordinator (Joelle) is WONDERFUL -- but there's a chance she may not be there on the day of your wedding (which happened in my case). There are maybe four coordinators, and only two of them will help you set up day-of. You run a risk of bad weather (naturally), and the site doesn't provide tables/chairs/utensils/etc., so all of that will have to be rented. But the venue is lovely and you don't have to do much decorating, so the cost balances out. I couldn't recommend them more highly. They're super-accommodating and incredibly helpful. It was the perfect backdrop for my wedding.

ly. She was so pleasant and friendly, yet professional. She worked with us on our custom menu for the reception and had reasonable sensible advice throughout the process that really helped make a wonderful final product. We had so many compliments on the food at our reception. She has a great sense of style and worked hard to bring the costs down to meet our price point. I would recommend her and her company to anyone for any event. She was just wonderful.
