It actually took me a while to write this review, simply because I couldn’t find the right words to fully capture how incredible this team truly is and how much they meant to us on...
our wedding day.
From the moment we got engaged, there was never a question about who we wanted as our photographer. We had been following Allison for years, and I always knew that if the day ever came, she would be the one capturing it.
When we finally reached out a few years later, Allison was everything we had hoped for and so much more. She is one of the most humble, genuine, creative, and down-to-earth people we have ever met. From the very beginning, it was clear that she pours her whole heart into what she does. She doesn’t just show up to take photos — she truly cares about bringing your vision to life and making your day feel exactly the way you dreamed it would. And she absolutely delivers.
Throughout the entire planning process, Allison, Matt, and Sam were always there for us. Any question we had, any idea we wanted to talk through, they were there with guidance, patience, and so much kindness. We met several times leading up to the wedding, and every conversation left me feeling more calm, more confident, and more excited. They helped with everything from the timeline, to locations, to making sure the entire day felt intentional and meaningful.
The one thing my husband and I wanted most on our wedding day was peace. We didn’t want stress or chaos — we just wanted to be present and soak in every moment.
And Allison, Sabrina, and Matt gave us exactly that.
I truly cannot imagine our wedding day going any smoother or feeling any more effortless. Allison was constantly checking in on me, fixing my dress, making sure everything looked perfect, and just quietly making everything run seamlessly behind the scenes. Sabrina was my personal hype woman all day long — lifting me up, making me laugh, and reminding me to soak in every moment. Matt was there capturing everything so beautifully for our film, making sure that every meaningful moment was preserved.
They weren’t just vendors that day — they became part of the experience, part of the memories, and honestly felt like friends.
Even now, my family talks about them almost daily since the wedding. That alone says so much about the energy, kindness, and care they bring with them.
And then there are the photos.
Not only are they some of the kindest and most hardworking people you will ever meet, but the art they create is truly breathtaking. The lighting, the emotion, the storytelling in every image — it all perfectly captured the feeling of our day. Nothing ever felt forced or awkward. Everything felt natural, comfortable, and real, which allowed us to just be ourselves and enjoy every moment.
Looking through our photos brings us right back to those feelings all over again, and that is a gift I will cherish forever.

Allison, our coordinator and photographer, is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. She has this amazing ability to anticipate your needs before you even know you have them. When I had a last-minute change of heart about our ceremony location the night before, she was on it without a second thought. Her calmness kept me grounded, and her enthusiasm made me excited rather than stressed. During our photos, she gave us fun prompts and questions that made us laugh, cry, and feel completely connected. She knew when to step back and let us just be in the moment, and when to gently guide us into a pose. And the fact that she sent us sneak peek photos within hours — that’s just who she is.
Matt, our tattoo artist and videographer, brought such a fun, relaxed energy to the day. He had us giggling through our nerves, and he took the time to get the kind of footage that will make our wedding video a true reflection of us. Recording our vows beforehand and answering his heartfelt interview questions made the day feel even more personal. On top of that, the tattoos he designed for us are works of art we’ll treasure forever.
Even our family couldn’t stop complimenting them. Everyone felt taken care of, every moment felt meaningful, and I never once had to check the clock or worry about what was next. They allowed us to live fully in the moment, and that is a gift I’ll always be grateful for.

very young children. We each made a list of about 10 places and from there we narrowed it down to 3.
Being the planner I am I immediately started looking for photographers out West to help us narrow our location down from our top 3 to our final decision. After seeing a few different photographers work and the views and activities available in Moab we finally decided on our location. I set up 5 phone calls for the week with different photographers in hopes we'd find the perfect one. Our second phone call was with Allison and from there I knew I could immediately cancel the 3 remaining calls.
She checked off all of the boxes on what we were looking for. She was down (and very excited) for taking 2 am photos under the stars following our wedding day coverage and didn't even bat an eye about not getting to sleep at all. She also made our dream come true of wedding band tattoo photo coverage, as well as getting our tattoos done onsight at our ceremony spot by her amazing fiancee.
Upon meeting her in person it felt like we had known her forever. There was no awkwardness that most people worry about and she's extremely kind and funny! Our experience with her left us with the most stunning pictures that we have not stopped staring at since getting them back. She was extremely knowledgable about beautiful and off the path locations for our ceremony and I am forever thankful for that. There was no stress with planning as she also provides the timeline for the day. It was so nice to just get to focus on packing, travel, and lodging and following her lead from there. When we did need something her communication was excellent and she always had extremely helpful suggestions.

Our pictures are stunning. Allison is an incredible landscape photographer and captured our day very well. She underpromised and over delivered with the sneak peak pictures and timeline for final delivery of everything. o we could get our dream wedding location shoots. She also explained in detail to us what we needed to do and sent us a very informative book going over typical elopement packing/planning. At times she was more like a wedding planner giving us lots of information on photo spots around the island. She definitely went above and beyond to help us with anything we asked her help with. put a lot of effort into her research on locations, permits, hair and makeup, flowers, etc. for our elopement day. This made our whole experience stress free, giving us the opportunity to truly enjoy each other and the experiences throughout the day. We were a little nervous about getting photographed and feeling awkward; but Allison somehow made it feel very natural and we quickly forgot about the pressure of being photographed. We feel so grateful to find a photographer who was willing to wake up at the crack of dawn for a sunrise ceremony, brave the crazy Kauai weather changes, and adventure up a mountain for sunset to complete the perfect vision of our wedding day. ry single part of planning a traditional wedding. I absolutely hated the process and very quickly realized I preferred to leave "traditions" at the door and do things MY WAY. This meant marrying my soul mate in the most intimate of settings, just him and I, with no worries or cares in the world other than enjoying every minute of that day.
That's where Allison came in and swept us away. My husband and I did a ton of research on elopement planners & photographers and we finally found our perfect fit, Allison. She fit our personalities, values and energy which made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. She helped us find our perfect adventure elopement location (Iceland) and took care of all the details of making that day perfect for us (planning every location we would visit and explore, timing, finding me a local hair and make up artist and the list goes on forever). Not to mention, she even crafted a perfect "post-elopement" photoshoot experience for us for the next morning where she captured the most wonderful newlywed looks and emotions from the both of us.
She truly went above and beyond and ensured that we had the most wonderful experience possible in the most iconic place on earth.

t my husband and had no ambitions on getting married myself, I still found myself in awe looking at her photos.
Several months before my husband and I were engaged, I showed him her instagram page and he was genuinely impressed. Normally when I’d show him something wedding related… especially before we were engaged… he wasn’t interested. Can’t say I blame him.
Later on when we were (finally) engaged, we originally wanted to have a traditional wedding.
After a many weeks of no sleep and becoming very overwhelmed, we decided to put our plans on hold. Until…. I came across a breathtaking elopement photo Allison shared from Sedona. In that moment I decided that’s what we were doing. I told my husband and he obviously was all for it!
From the moment I reached out to Allison about doing our elopement, everything was such a breath of fresh air.
From locking down the location (Dolomites, Italy) to mapping everything out, she made things effortless and exciting. When we finally got together in person, she was professional but very easy going and fun to be around. She was creative when coming up with ways to make us laugh and not feel awkward for some of those more intimate shots. Although it was the three of us that day, she was also intentional about giving us moments where it felt like it really was just the two of us.
We recently got our entire album of photos and we are over the moon happy with them. Our family and friends have said they look like they belong in wedding magazines. The icing on the cake has been having those who originally were not in support of us eloping, turn around and say if they could go back in time, they would have done what we did…. ;)

milies, and it was really hard knowing that in “following our hearts”, we were disappointing our families. But at the end of the day, we are SO GLAD WE DID. Allison provided us with SO much helpful information and support throughout the whole process. You can tell she’s done this many times, in that she has a system and plan for everything. I remember reading her website and feeling like she really understood the experience of a couple choosing to elope. I also really loved the process of finding our location, answering questions about my partner and I, and feeling present and intentional about planning our day. I’ll never forget the feeling I had pulling up to our ceremony site, after the very remote and bumpy journey, like we were truly in the privacy of nature and in front of one of the most BEAUTIFUL VIEWS I’ve ever seen in my life. My partner and I looked at each other and said, “Yep, no regrets.” And I know that it would not have been possible without Allison. She is so warm, genuine, and strikes the perfect balance of taking charge and giving space. We are so happy with our photos and most importantly, the memories of our adventure.

Long story short, we ended up having 3 special days. Our “legal” wedding day at our local courthouse, our elopement and exchanging of vows with Allison in Utah and then a wedding celebration with friends and family back home.
My husband and I spent hours scrolling and looking at options for a photographer that could capture our exchanging of vows with our families in Zion National Park.
We ended up landing on Allison Slater’s website and fell in love with her work.
From day 1 of reaching out to Allison for more info to receiving our entire photo gallery, it was such a interactive and unforgettable experience.
She was in constant communication with us from location selection to vendor recommendations, she covered it all in the time leading up to our elopement.
On our elopement day, Allison came to the AirBnb where I was getting ready, and I felt like we had known each other for forever.

In the months leading up to the elopement, she helped Ryan and I decide on the perfect spot for our ceremony location as well as portraits and helped answer any questions we had along the way. Just as her bio mentions, she really is also your wedding planner/guide/friend and provides recommendations for vendors (i.e. hair/make-up, florists, food).
Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. Allison really is incredible and amazing at what she does. The pictures are STUNNING and I'll forever be grateful that we decided to elope over having a traditional wedding because we were able to plan a day that truly embodied us as a couple - hiking, eating PB&J, and drinking a beer while watching the sunset together all while Allison was capturing these moments that we'll be able to reminisce on for the rest of our lives.

When you think about wedding pictures, you imagine the ones where you both are perfectly posed and look flawless. And then you get your pictures back from Allison, and you realize it’s about every other picture then those beautiful ones. It’s about the candid smile and hug you gave your new mother-in-law, or the look on your dads face at your first look, or the laugh you and your husband shared during your first dance. Then you think back and realize you didn’t even know those pictures were being taken. That’s what makes Allison incomparable to the rest; she captures both the posed and candied perfect moments. My husband and I had the pleasure of having two photoshoots with Allison. We decided to do our wedding pictures earlier than our wedding, so we didn’t have to spend the extra time on the actual day of our wedding. Not a conventional idea, but Allison made us feel so comfortable with the idea. The pictures came out beyond our wildest expectations, and we had a ton of FUN hanging out with Allison. She completely took away the “awkwardness” of the whole photoshoot thing. We also got the pleasure of having Allison at our elopement in Yellowstone National Park. She absolutely blew these pictures out of the (national lol) park. She made everyone SO comfortable, and fit into my family like she was one of us. Everyone in our family said something along the lines of “wow! Those pictures came out amazing! Allison sends you gifts in the mail leading up to your day, and genuinely just feels like a friend from the moment you first talk to her! On our wedding day, she was so helpful in calming nerves and coordinating everything for us. We chose to do a sunset hike, and the shots Allison got of us were beyond words. Not only was she so much fun to hike with and get to know, but she gave us the best prompts in order to feel comfortable in front of the camera, capturing so well the intimacy of the first moments after getting married. To top it all off, Allison sent us our sneak peek photos (over 20) within 3 DAYS of our wedding day. rt. The idea of planning another entire wedding felt extremely overwhelming until we found Allison. She's not only a photographer, but a planner as well. She made planning so easy every step of the way while making sure our day was exactly what we were dreaming of. She made the entire process stress-free and took so much off our plate!
The day of was truly unbelievable thanks to Allison's planning. Allison was extremely organized, yet so laid back which made for the most blissful wedding day. Our parents both commented that it seemed like she was an old friend and we'd known her forever. We felt so comfortable in front of the camera and she truly captured the entire story of our day.
We travel often and always say "the pictures don't do it justice." Allison's photos are quite the opposite. She truly captured how absolutely magical our wedding day was. In one phone conversation Allison restored our hope & excitement! She is the full package; so much more than a photographer. Going into the planning stages the number 1 item on the list were the photos and how they would be edited. We looked longer for a photographer than anything else haha. After finding your page, we fell in love and knew it was meant to be. After using you for our engagement photoshoot in Sedona, we were left in awe. You blew us away with your personality, and of course your work. We knew then that no matter where the wedding was going to be at, we were going to need you there.
Once we changed locations from AZ back to MO, we had to figure out a way in the budget to get you there. Because not having you was not an option. You were quick to respond and open to the travel. Made our planning easier and we knew the day would be great.
Now that we have our photos back and some time has passed. We realized how blessed we were to find you and have you be a huge part of our most special day. Also we gained a friend. We will definitely be using you again for future photoshoots.

I remember when I first started looking at photographers for our elopement, I was randomly scrolling through Ins...
tagram and BAM!!! I saw Allisons page and I knew my search was over. It had all the right feels from the warm glowy lighting to the authentic moments she captured. I knew we had to have her! The first telephone conversation we had with her was so much fun and sealed the deal, we absolutely fell in love with Allison.
She photographed my now husband and I’s engagement pictures and elopement and at both sessions was truly an absolute pleasure to work with and made both experiences so easy, so fun and filled with so much magic! For our engagement shoot we had planned a July shoot at Superstition Mountain (I’m obsessed with the place) but right before our session the mountain caught fire and got so bad they had to close the trails we planned to shoot on. We had to make a backup plan. Allison being the rockstar she is scouted some trails and found another magical trail that had all the feels I wanted AND had Superstition Mountain in the background!!!
I was beyond thrilled and grateful!
At both the engagement shoot and our elopement day Allison came totally prepared with everything from snacks and water to a speaker so we could listen to music during (she even had “our song” cued up! She thought of every aspect of the day and was ready for anything. She was so easy to work with and made us feel like a friend we’ve known forever was taking our picture. The conversations we had with her were organic and full of laughter and happiness. She made us feel relaxed and comfortable so we could be truly present in the moment. I can’t even picture our elopement day without Allison being there. She made the day effortless (even with climbing a mountain in full wedding attire!).
And our pictures… WOWZA!!! They are absolutely mind-blowingly amazing! I don’t know if I could be any happier with them. On top of being crazy talented, sweet, funny, personable and professional, Allison is quick! She had our elopement images back to us within 2 weeks!!!
