Mics for the ceremony and lights for the dance floor were all set up for us. He came early to the wedding and we were able to work everything out from there. Everything went smoothly and he made everything so easy on us! We got a ton of compliments from our guests saying that he was the best DJ they had ever experienced! Highly recommend DJ Uncle Smiley if you’re looking for someone to pump up your party!!!

What gave me peace is his communication with us. We were a lot to handle as a couple who didn't get to celebrate how we planned the first time. He joined us in the celebration. He kept announcements for toasts/food/etc brief but clear and fun, and during the dancing he transitioned excellently between songs we chose ahead of time and songs that were better than we could have come up with. We're so glad we booked him so far in advance!

Around 10:45pm we asked a Michael West to make an announcement to gather our group of queer friends for a photo. Shortly after that Michael West made an announcement saying this song was his last… He packed up and left claiming he had another gig to go to. There was no mention of this other gig at any point prior, just him telling multiple people we had unlimited time. Our first dance was at 9:30pm, we barely got to dance at our own wedding. Not to mention he played four line-dancing songs in a row while people were just starting to eat dessert so we had to ask him to play the songs again once everyone was on the dance floor. I sent him an email a few days after our wedding saying that we were disappointed, etc. (as 80% of our wedding guests had flown in from the east coast to dance for an hour and a half) with no response. I emailed him again a week later and he responded only because I asked him if his actions were homophobic, he didn’t deny it, he just said I was insensitive for asking. Bottom line- Unlimited time means unlimited time, period. If you really have another event to go to tell your clients so they can find another DJ, period.

AILED IT, I 100% mean that. I asked for 90s-2000s hip hop, rap, pop etc annd literally named a few of the artists to get an idea and boy did he take me back to those days!! We had such a blast more so when all the old folk left obviously LOL and he did a fantastic job with it all! I’m so happy we chose him to be our DJ. I’d hire him again for any event. Thank you for killin it and making our day perfect!

Book him."... three weeks later and the night before our wedding date, I emailed Uncle Smiley at 1:38am and had a simple request, and that was "Please do not hold back the hip hop & r&b...", shortly after he responded "Bet"... From our grand entrance to the sparkler exit, Uncle Smiley keep our guest engaged, entertained with laughter, prompt and on script with our timeline and when it was time to dance, he had a little bit of everything in his bag and everyone was on the dance floor grooving (... including me, the groom - at several points during the evening I was so hyped with his selections, I could be seen dancing on the tables lol). They say everything happens for a reason and with us booking Uncle Smiley, my Wife and I, including many of our guest, believe this was the best wedding we have ever been to, in large part to Uncle Smiley The DJ...!!!

cuss any questions or concerns; he is friendly and easy to talk to. He arrived well before the ceremony began, with plenty of time to set up and prepare. Our guests and other vendors thought it was awesome that he uses turntables, referring to him as the real deal. The sound quality was amazing, and the volume was great even with our ceremony taking place somewhat far from his setup. All brides and grooms are probably most concerned about their ceremony songs (entrance/exit), welcome back song, and first dance song, and he executed all of those perfectly (he even seamlessly looped the ceremony entrance song when it was going to end too early). Another commendable thing was that he stuck it out through an unexpected rainstorm in August. He came prepared with a large tent, and dried off his equipment as needed. He even helped push excess water off of our large reception tent. Uncle Smiley was also a great MC with positive energy. We gave him a brief script outline and he was able to make it his own. The only thing that is a possible area for improvement is we would have liked to hear more songs from the playlists we created and shared. All in all, we would recommend Uncle Smiley — very dependable, talented professional!
