but we did want to do an official ceremony and a celebration to include our family and friends. Our solution was to do a wedding ceremony/vow renewal on our 1 year anniversary. We are not religious so we wanted to do a handfasting ceremony since it is still symbolic. She wrote the script for the ceremony specifically for us and we love it. When she sent us the script to review beforehand she asked if we wanted to add anything like a unity candle, unity sand, or a unity shot. I had never heard of a unity shot, but it turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the ceremony. She fit our aesthetic and our personalities perfectly. She did such an amazing job of making this whole experience so much better than I had imagined! I honestly cannot say enough about perfect the ceremony was!!
